B&J's Downtown Diner Texarkana Reviews
OMGGG this was the best country cooking that I've had. It's tastes like home AND THE BANANA PUDDING if you leave without trying the banana pudding your low key just missing out... and a bum (jk maybe)😁😁
Food is AMAZING 👏 Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be going back.
It is a great family diner. It has food for all times of the day and the staff are great. It was amazing.
My husband and I loved their breakfast! We were there visiting my family and we literally ate there every morning while there. Awesome food and service ☺️
A great breakfast with great prices and super service. Kind of difficult to get to in downtown Texarcana, but LOTS of parking once you get there! Will definitely go there again when we're in town!
We were passing through to go to a church event in Nashville, so glad we lucked up on this place. Felt a bit awkward when we arrived but pleasantly surprised. Customer service 5 stars and also the food. Please give them a try because we will certainly return
This was my first visit to Johnny B's. It was a nice cafe type of restaurant. A little bit of a nostalgic atmosphere which was rather pleasant. My friends and I enjoyed our time there. The customer service was good. I had a taco salad that was a full portion and iced tea. Everything was delicious. The menu prices are very reasonable.
We came to Johnny's on a busy Sunday morning & they were able to seat us quickly. They had so many different items on the menu from steak, shrimp, cheese sticks, omelets, salads, burgers and waffles. I had the grilled chicken & my husband had the Ribeye. Food was delicious!!! Prices were great. Server was very attentive. Can't wait to go back!
This is my second time in Texarkana. I like the local joints because they tend to be a bit less expensive. This place doesn't disappoint. Down Home food, pleasant staff, and great price. It was busy. The food wasn't bad, but it lacked a bit of panache. The portions were plenteous, especially given the price.
Great little hole in the wall, this place is the definition of southern hospitality. The staff is so friendly and the food will literately make you speechless. I have came here 3 sundays in a row now to try a couple of different menu items and I Have not found one to disappoint yet! Today it’s the chocolate chip, strawberries, & cream Gourmet waffle with a side of bacon! The coffee itself is also amazing!! I highly recommend!
Very dinner looking in a nice way. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Belgium waffle was great. Tried it with the fruit topping and was good. Think it would be great with butter and syrup. My husband had the French toast platter and eat every bite. Will return on others visits.
Tried Johnny B's after a suggestion from coworkers. Wanted to try their steak and see what it is like. Plus they have breakfast choices all day. From the outside the restaurant looks small but is plenty big. You get to seat yourself and there was plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly and always attentive to what we need. The food took a little while but I believe it was my steak that held things up. The fried pickles were excellent. I'm not a huge fan of fried pickles but I ate a lot of them. My wife said her breakfast was great. Her only issue was the eggs still had a tiny bit runny white parts. My baked potato was good and it has real bacon on it not bits. The steak however was very disappointing. It was supposed to be a ribeye but looked and tasted more like a sirloin. There was no crust on it and was even a little more rare than medium rare as ordered. I am still open to go back again. And since most everything else was great I will for sure give a good rating. Als they were very attentive to my shellfish allergy and I had no issues after. Give them a try if in the area.
I truly enjoyed the service here. It was the day after Christmas and, not being from the area, I wasnt sure who would be open. Glad this spot was. If you are looking for good diner food this is a good choice. The staff is friendly and you really get a feel for the local people, which is nice for me and my family when we travel.
Service was very good. Food was ok. Omelet had American cheese and they have fake butter. Lots of fun decor.
Been here over 10 times and the food isn’t terrible however no one seems to care much about anything, every time I come I ask for a substitute for a side and ask if I will be charged extra EVERY TIME I am told no then charged later, every time I ask for crispy hash browns aswell and they are not ever. Lastly the coffee is never great.
I've been to this establishment a few times and never really had any issues. A friend and I went for breakfast, and they burned the Pancakes. When my friend told the waiter the Pancakes were burned (on both sides), the waiter replied "Burned?" with a look on confusion on his face. After which he just stood there several minutes before offering to remake the plate. My friend declined not wanting to make a fuss, but the food was terrible. I tasted for myself just to see. To add insult to the experience, at checkout we let the cashier know that the food was burned. She gave the same "performance" as the waiter. Never really apologized, but offered a 2.99 discount (yes we did the math) and then had the audacity to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. For less than mediocre service and burned food, I think not. Will neither be retuning nor recommending to anyone in my circle.
