Koni's Broadway Kafé Troy Reviews
Just discovered this not so hidden gem in Troy. Clean, Fast and Friendly was my first impression. Then I took a bite of "The G" (one of their roast beef sandwiches) and fell in love. Homemade chips, a great pickle and a fresh brewed ice tea with a shot of raspberry for $11 you'll never order anything else. Best part is the owner herself can be seen working in the back so you know there's love going into all she does. I'll be back. Update- I went back and had the same thing. Just as great. Third times the charm...
Really good sandwich. This is a Mitzi. Grilled chicken breast pesto on ciabatta bread.

Really good sandwich. This is a Mitzi. Grilled chicken breast pesto on ciabatta bread.
Can't believe it took me this long to find this place!!! Great food and a cool vibe. I tried the west coast grill the first time. Loved that and the pasta salad. I can't wait to try out more of the menu.
I loved this place. Beautiful outdoor seating, cool building. Had an amazing salad with their house balsamic dressing with a blueberry muffin on the side for an early breakfast. All food was outstanding and they were very accommodating. Prices were very reasonable. I kinda wish the cup/fork were not disposable but besides that everything was perfect.
Happened upon this place just looking for a quick lunch. Lucky for us the food was terrific. The Hudson was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. My 5 year old loved her grilled cheese and if the chips aren't homemade they sure seem like they are!
When Chaz & I walk in we always feel as if we’re walking into a family members home. Breakfast sandwiches are BOMB, everything there taste great! They do get busy so if you’re reading this review make sure you call ahead to get your order in!
A perfect spot for lunch! Very pleasant space, spotlessly clean, friendly helpful owner and her family and friends! Portions are generous , food is fresh and tasty! Plan to stop in again when we are in the area!
Really good soup and sandwiches and a nice place to sit and work to get out of the house! Turkey on ciabatta was delicious! Their egg sandwiches are also excellent.
Eat in or take out, nice staff dedicated to get you your food quickly with a pleasant smile. Standard sandwich and salad options for lunch but they seem to delight in a creative seasonal option that changes regularly.
Love this place! AMAZING food with fresh ingredients, friendly/cheery service, and family atmosphere. I’ve never had issues with/a wait for my online pickup orders.
I screwed up a breakfast date, and Koni's was our third choice on the list. My first visit was met with a friendly cashier/waitress. You're a bit spoiled for choice in terms of menu items, but both my girlfriend and I chose "The Flying Horse" for breakfast. This sandwich had sausage, egg and cheese between two buttery-soft slices of French toast. The meal was delicious to say the least, but very affordable as well. Next time I'm out for breakfast, Koni's will be at the top of my list.

We came in on a weekday morning for breakfast at this cute little cafe. We had the place to ourselves. Our breakfast sandwiches were pretty good. I had their sausage and cheese sandwich.
Convenient spot and pretty quick when theres not a big line. Food is good, i enjoyed my sandwich (the mitzi). Veggie sandwich was not bad, had hummus flavor and tasted fresh. I like that they use pesto on the pasta salad as opposed to just mayo, and having dill pickles on the side was nice. The coffee was okay, not amazing and wish they had more options. Decor inside is interesting, has more of a vintage troy brick vibe- its different, not as nice as the other trendy cafes but this place is more of a restaurant with reasonably priced food and much less of a cafe. Service was good when we went

We've only been once but just wanted to give a heads up for those with food sensitivities. We had coffee and breakfast sandwiches/wraps along with their "new" home fries. I believe it was the seasonings on the home fries but I had a histamine/allergic reaction just after finishing. My face, neck, arms, back and stomach became flushed and it felt like a burning heat which lasted almost an hour. My husband did not have a reaction and he has issues with high histamine foods so I can only guess it was an additive or something in the seasoning as I tend to have issues with gums and additives. They didn't have whole milk so I had 1/2 n 1/2 which has carrageenan but that just makes me stuffy. Otherwise, it's a clean place, nicely decorated. I'm not saying I won't try something else but I will ask next time what ingredients are.
Super cute place with high quality sandwiches. Did not feel like they were prepared to handle more than a line of two people though. Was one of five people inside/one of three people waiting for food when I arrived with a friend 15 minutes before it got crowded at 11:40am. My friend got her food at 11:50, but we had to check in twice before I got mine at 12:10. Just sandwiches. They also got the side wrong. Good food and vibe though! Will be back.

On the positive side, most staff are very kind and the food is good. However I wish service was better. They are so frequently under water and struggling to keep up, so don't expect anything to happen quickly here. It's even a challenge to be acknowledged when you arrive to pick up an order. Took nearly 30 minutes for sandwich that was ordered online, and they were all out of sides except coleslaw which I did not want, so I was offered nothing, including no price adjustment. I've been disappointed too many times. It's unfortunate.
Food is good but trying to call and place an order is ridiculous. And apparently they need a new computer because it's constantly freezing and needing to be rebooted. I've been there in person where they can't even take an order (the old fashioned way) and everyone waits for the reboot. I just called, waited pretty patiently while they waited on other customers and then they had to reboot....20 minutes between them taking orders and then the computer freezing and finally is up again and more people are waited on and then they hang up on me. Call back and it rings and rings and they never pick up. People only have so much lunch time.

I ordered a spinach salad. The lady on the phone asked if I wanted to add chicken for $3.00 more and I said yes. I picked up my order, paid for it and put it in the fridge when I got back to the office. When I opened the container there was no chicken in it! I called to complain and was told that they were sorry and that they would reimburse me. I couldn't find the receipt and they said if I went down they would hand me the $3.00. I was in the middle of work and couldn't leave so I had to "eat" the $3.00 charge for something I never received. All and all, the salad was "ok". I think $11.00 for a spinach salad with chicken is extremely expensive. I will NOT be going back since they can't get a simple order right. I will continue to go to Delilicious since they never, ever screw up my order and their food is plentiful. Very disappointed overall.

I went to use the restroom during my visit today and was completely turned off by the experience—not just by the condition of the bathroom, but by the owner's response when I brought it up. The restroom smelled terrible and was clearly unclean (use your imagination). I simply let the owner know so it could be addressed for the next guest—not to place blame, but to be helpful. It could’ve been left that way by a customer or anyone, but either way, no one wants to try and wash their hands to eat in a restaurant and be greeted with a filthy restroom. Instead of acknowledging the concern, the owner became defensive and dismissive. She didn’t respond with an attempt to clean the restroom. There was only one customer so time and opportunity were not a factor. She seemed more upset that I said something than about the condition of the facility. Her attitude was completely off-putting. I don’t believe I’ll be back. A basic level of cleanliness and respect should not be too much to ask.

Serious Food Allergy Warning – Negligent and Unsafe I want to warn anyone with food allergies about my girlfriend’s experience at Koni's Broadway Kafe . She ordered a gluten-free wrap, clearly stating her dietary restriction, yet the owner added croutons to her sandwich—despite croutons containing gluten. This mistake wasn’t just an inconvenience; it resulted in a severe allergic reaction that sent her into anaphylactic shock at work. Her work had to use an EpiPen, call an ambulance, and be rushed to the hospital. What’s even more concerning is the owner’s complete lack of care or responsibility. When we informed her of what happened, she showed zero empathy, did not apologize, and even seemed to blame us for the mistake. It was clear she didn’t even understand that croutons contain gluten—an alarming lack of basic food safety knowledge for someone running a restaurant. If you have celiac disease, a gluten intolerance, or any serious food allergy, I strongly urge you to avoid this place. Mistakes happen, but the way they are handled speaks volumes. Unfortunately, Koni’s Café failed in both food safety and customer service.
