We have recently discovered this gem. Great pizza What we like about their pizza is the fresh taste and the fact it's not heavy and greasy. Their service the two times we've been has been the best. Kind great atmosphere. I recommend you try this place. You'll be back.

I grew up in New England and have always had access to great pizza. Certain standards I have for what makes a great simple pizza. Shorty's sells it by the slice, which is what real shops do back home. The dough was perfect as was the rest of the pizza. Pizza shouldn't have a 1/4 inch crust with 60 toppings on it. It should be simple where you can fold it and with a little oil on top. By far the best pizza in the area I've had so far. Shorty's had an outside area and small area inside. Cold beer on tap and the wings I had were good. If your looking for a good lunch spot I highly recommend it.

Its been awhile since I've been here. The wife and I had a bad craving for some pizza, we were talking about how a few years back we use to go here for really good pizza. We live much further out now than use to but decided to try em out again. After all these years I can honestly say that they DID NOT disappoint us. The pizza was amazing and the girl at the counter was absolutely a delight to talk with. Even in our short conversation she still remembered to double check the order verses what she was giving to us ensuring everything was correct. I can not recommend this place enough, and we will make the extra drive more often to enjoy some again.

We ordered a 14 inch with half artisan cheese and meat lovers and it was DELICIOUS. We also ordered a beer and a sangria swirl margarita to enjoy the patio. This was our first time here and the staff was very friendly and helpful with helping guide our choices. The atmosphere is very family friendly and laid back. You can also bring your pups on the patio :) The price is very reasonable as well.

First of all, we are new to the area. We looked for awhile trying to find a place we wouldn't regret. We read several different places' reviews and landed on shorty's as the place for supper. Wow! We we're not disappointed at all. I would give you a 10 if that was an option. Our meat lovers 18" was the best I've had since I was a kid, and that one was over 1,000 miles away from here. The cheese pizza 18" was just so satisfying. The meat lovers pillow was the bomb dot com. I will definitely be back. Not sure I have a need to try any other pizza place from here on out. I would add a picture but we began to eat before we got a picture and didn't stop until it was gone. Thank you Shorty's for a great meal for the whole family. We will be back.

The food was great. The staff is very kind and helpful. We came in with a baby girl and she directly brought a high chair to us without us even asking. We ordered the veggie lover pizza pillow which was tasty. Pizza was big and thin. Wings were smaller but tasted fresh! Overall a wonderful dining experiences.

I'm from the NYC area originally. Most places in Texas that claim to have NY style pizza...do not. I was pleasantly surprised here. It wasn't quite as floppy as NYC slices are, but the dough was tasty and thin, the crust was crispy but not hard and these cheese was stretchy. I had the pepperoni and the spinach-garlic-mushroom. Both were very good. Nice local bar atmosphere and good service!

Great spot for a casual afternoon pizza. We shared a meat lovers and tried the buffalo chicken pizza pillow. Pizza was great - rolled out this but held up well to all the toppings and the crust was great. Pizza pillow was tasty but could have been baked a bit longer to get the dough a little crustier and cheese a little meltier. Service was quick and friendly and the vibe is casual and chill - lots of college kids hanging out and working with beers. Happy we stopped here!

We were looking for somewhere to eat while visiting Waco for the day, and this place showed up as a place nearby and had 4.5 stars so we decided to check it out. Upon arriving the outside did not look very pleasant but we were pleasantly surprised by the food. The PIZZA PILLOWS are where it's at!! The pizza was good but the pizza pillows were very delicious!! I would say this place is ok for older kids as there were no high chairs for babies, but understandable as all the chairs are bar stool typed. Great place for a pizza and beer night!

So at first, I was scared this location only caters to college kids I was wrong because LUKE took care of us as if we were at a five star restaurant. Definitely a great place if you’re looking for a deal, they have every day specials. I chose the wings tonight. They were better than the place I thought was the best. My wife chose the slice of the day, which was chicken bacon ranch she said she would order again. Great value for the price definitely check this place out. Almost didn't come because of the previous wing picture but as you can see they look tasty with Sic'em sauce on the wings are perfect with graphics cheese bread amazing. This is the closest pizza to the New York style that I've found in Waco

The place is fun and casual. The pizza was very good. We had an 18 inch pepperoni and a 14 inch Meat Lover’s. It was enough for four people. The pizza was ready fast and we were in and out in no time. It was kitchen too busy on a Sunday around noon. They have daily lunch specials that are very reasonably priced from 11 am to 2 pm.

Located in Baylor, this pizza/bar joint let me tell you, I absolutely love this place. They are so friendly and their pizza pillows are freaking amazing! They have an open outside area to sit with misters and they will allow you to bring your dog. I don't ever have a bad experience here.

This is maybe the best pizza I’ve had. I am from DFW and I make it a point to drop by Shorty’s every time I happen to pass Waco. Small indoor area but decent sized patio. Pizza by the slice is also fairly cheap, and I love the mini pitchers they offer for beer. The owner himself hangs around a decent amount it seems and everyone is super friendly. Love this place!

Today is National Pi Day so what better way to celebrate than with yummy pizza pie. There was 5 of us, so we ordered 2 large pizzas. One was pepperoni and the other was the works. Both were delicious! Don't judge a book by its cover, because it isn't a fine dining establishment. Its decorated w/all kinds of memorabilia and collectives. It's the perfect pizza place! We were greeted with a smile and received friendly service.

The closest pizza to New York I’ve had on my trip to Waco. They also have a good collection of beers with pints cans and pitchers available. It is famous with the students of Baylor University. Overall, great taste, good atmosphere and great service.

Delicious food! Pizza, on a scale of 1-10 is a 9. Perfect crust, sauce and ranch. If we could have a do over, I'd skip the salad and get two slices. Not because the salad was bad, but because the pizza was that good. Pizza pillow was fantastic. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 15. The dough is flavorful and cooked perfectly. Generous amount of delicious cheese. Patio is dog friendly, covered and even heated in the winter. Excellent happy hour and lunch deals. Do not pass up your opportunity to eat here!

I dream of these pizza pillows!!! Sad to have moved away from Waco, but this place is a must-visit every time we are in town. I have been to Shorty's a few times, but this time I was very impressed! On a Saturday night, take out service was helpful and fast at 20 minutes! The person on the phone was polite, patient, and easy to hear which is always a plus with dietary restrictions! The separate pickup window is always convenient. The gluten free pizza is a generous personal size and fulfills the neighborhood pizza joint promises- flavorful, a lil greasy, and delicious!

We’ve been to Shorty’s Pizza Shack many times now, and every time we come to Waco we make it a point to stop here. The pizza is always amazing, the service is great, and the atmosphere is fun and laid-back. It’s one of those places that never disappoints. Highly recommend if you’re in Waco!

Mouthwatering pizzas! You get pizzas by slices, 14” and 18”. The selections for individual slices were interesting and something that you want to taste unlike other pizza outlets. Do try the texarita pizza- tomato sauce based with balsamic vinegar, onions and jalapeños- It’s DELISH! . You have about 3-4 veg pizza options. The appes were fried crispy and served hot. Do check their daily specials or ask the staffs; we were able to get $5 off on the 14” pizzas on Wednesdays. Will definitely visit again to try the pillow pizzas. They carry pitcher beers/pints on a wide selection of beers. The rotating taps have great tasting local IPAs. The ambience is lively with a lot of young crowd dropping in. The patio is pet friendly. Parking spots are available right in front of the restaurant. It’s 5 ⭐️ for me!

Recommended by a friend. We got there after happy hour and around the dinner rush. Parking lot was full and hard to find a spot. The college students were walking up to the restaurant. Probably the best approach, park down the road and walk back to get food. Once in we seated ourselves outside. The waiter was there fast to take our drink orders and give us menus. Food selection was good and was out quickly. The place got more and more crowded but it wasn't too bad. It is most decidedly a student favorite. Great food, great atmosphere and the patio is dog friendly as I watched one of the waiters bring a dog dish of water to a pup outside. Really cool place.

My waiter spoke to me with unprovoked suggestive comments that made me uncomfortable. I love Shorty’s and will be coming back, but unfortunately now I won’t feel as comfortable at this establishment like I did before.

Loved the outdoor atmosphere and our waitress was awesome. Had the BBQ pizza. Toppings were pretty good, but the standout was the crust. It was thin, slightly sweet and crispy -delightful. Based on the crust alone the other pies are worth trying next time we go back. The only downside is that while eating there was cigarette smoke wafting our way from 3 other tables. We are from Illinois where smoking, even in outdoor restaurants, is not allowed. I can live with the Texas rules, just pointing out.

Shorty's Pizza Shack is good pizza. I came with a big group, 40+ people, and they really came through. The service was great. Very friendly. I had a sausage "pillow" it stuffed well with plenty of cheese and sausage and came with ranch or marinara. I recommend it if you're hankerin' for pizza.

Shorty's is hands down one of my favorites spots in the city. The pizza is always fire. One of my favorite things is the pizza pillows. My only issue is that sometimes there is more cheese on one side of the pillow than there are pepperonis. Other than that, this is a very solid pizza joint. Definitely recommend.

Pizza was pretty good-better than chains in Waco. Went at a busy time so service was a little behind but the space was nice and clean.

Good local pizza place near the Baylor University campus. They are known for their pizza pillows, which are small pizza slices folded over on themselves. It’s a quick service restaurant and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and it was a worthwhile stop.

On my drive back to Austin, I stopped in Waco for a quick bite. Shorty's Pizza Shack caught my attention on the map, so I decided to stop there. Truth be told, I was no disappointed! They have daily specials (see pictures) and their pizza is super fresh. They have several beers on tap as well as canned. They have an outdoor patio (which I failed to ask if they were pet friendly). This place is owned by three Baylor alumni AND they have their diplomas up on the wall! I loved this detail. As a TCU alumna (yeah yeah yeah, I was in Baylor nation... got out as fast as I could), I truly enjoy going to places where the school spirit is off the charts. This place did not disappoint in service, food, and ambiance. I recommend going here for lunch. Perhaps avoid it during college football season because I bet it's freaking packed. But hey, great business, huh?

At Shorty's Pizza, the crust was a dream, Each bite a slice of heaven, or so it seemed. The cheese melted perfect, toppings galore, Yet service was lacking, it left me quite sore. My husband and I placed an order for pickup tonight for our first time eating here. The loaded fries were pretty good! I just wish they would at least grill the onions some before throwing them on the fries. The Shorty's salad was pretty blah though. It was mostly cheese and extra thick cut green peppers and hardly any lettuce. I did really enjoy the homemade croutons though. My husband thought the barbecue chicken pillow would've been better had it been cooked all the way through. The cinnamon desert was decent as well. They also forgot all the marinara and ranch sauces too, so luckily we had our own at home. All in all, the price was pretty decent for the amount of food we ordered but maybe the quality just wasn't there tonight. I just had higher hopes from all the reviews, but the place wasn't terrible.

The pizza has a special flavor to it and I tend to enjoy the lighter crust style. Food was very nice, and so were the mozzarella cheese sticks/bread knots. However, parking is always an issue, and when this place is popular on the weekends, there is no orderly process for being seated. You have to awkwardly stand by tables and wait for eating customers to get up. Or you could stand outside and wait, but the leaves the ability for a newer customer to come steal your spot. If they can fix service aspect of the restaurant, it will most definitely become a better pizza joint in Waco.

Woodway location is great with great setvice. The other location off Bagby is not unwelcoming, and they act like you bother them if you come to get food. The guy in the pick-up is rude with an attitude.

The pizza and wings were both undercooked, however the service was great/friendly. We ordered one large pizza and 20 wings for carry out so unfortunately we couldn’t have them remade or cooked longer. This was our first time ordering so not sure if it’s just a one-off kind of thing for them, but if we had eaten there we would have asked for everything to be thrown back in the oven. The pizza crust was thin but limp and doughy, and the wings were tough and hard to eat off the bone. The flavors were decent. Good thing we eat leftovers. We’ll make sure to cook everything well when we reheat. Party on.

The pizza was a little too greasy and floppy for my tastes. Pretty good flavor though! Also, workers were really nice and fast.

Casual and friendly atmosphere with patio area and TVs for viewing sports (or Bachelor which several viewers chose prior to our arrival this week). Pizza and pockets (calzone like option) were tasty and menu had good variety of options along with wings and salads, beers and wine. Servers were friendly and service was fine if not overly quick, but fit the relaxed vibe so no complaints.

Service was great but the pizza tasted uncooked and lacking in flavor. The beer selection was mediocre but then again, it's Texas. It was a game night so consequently it was LOUD. I mean I get boisterous but it was loud to where it was hard to hear the person across the table from you.

The pizza was good. Not a big fan of New York style pizza, but this one wasn't too bad. The wings were not that good though, the chicken was almost rubbery, and the skin was not really crispy. They tasted like store bought, frozen wings. They also only really had one worker taking orders. They had a bunch of workers standing around the front counter though. Maybe put more workers to look after the customers. The one guy taking orders was good, but he was just so busy working all by himself. Inside dining room is kinda small and crowded.

Attending my nephews party and our party was sitting outside. We had to go get our drinks from the bar since they do not serve outside tables. Another guest and I walked in and got in line. He was right in front of me. Bartender Audrey takes his drink order and then ask is anybody else looking to get drinks? I told her that I was looking to order some drink drinks. She looked at me and said with a very rude tone “ No, they were next” I got quiet and let her take the other people‘s order to not be rude to those customers. As she was taking the order, the guy looked at me and said I’ll be right with you. He could tell I was upset by the way she spoke to me. When she was through giving them their drinks, I told her that the way she spoke to me was unnecessary, She could’ve been a little bit more tactful, and respectful. She looked me right in my face and said “baby you need to calm down”, I replied “don’t call me baby and where’s your manager at?” She pointed at the other guy. She then continued to make rude remarks And speak in a very condescending manner. She then walked off, and the guy apologized for her behavior & said he would just give me the drinks for the way she treated me. I don’t understand where the aggression came from. Why she needed to speak to me the way she did. Someone needs to address the behavior.

I was not impressed at all with the level of service or the quality of the food . The pricing was ok , Starting with the service . After arriving we were seated but after 20 minutes I had to get up and find someone to take our order . We ordered the supreme pizza it was made in a timely manner but it was not very impressive. The pizza had huge slices of green peppers absolutely covering the entire top of the pizza . When I say huge I really mean it . It was an absurd amount of green peppers . The pizza was very soggy and difficult to eat . I will not be back .

Usually good service except I got a carry out this time and the wings I got (BBQ) were very soggy because the "sauce" was more like Bbq water and not even coating the wings they were just sitting in a pool of what looked to just be water with flavoring ... :(

Food tastes great but we asked for lots of extra pepperoni, were charged for it, and then got a normal pepperoni pizza. That and we tipped so we paid something like $28 for what is priced on their menu as $15.

I've only had their menu through catering and food truck events but I am not a huge fan of how they taste. Incredibly dry and stale to the bite. That said, I appreciate the prices and the people that worked there for the events Shorty's served at.

If you like burnt pizza this will be the place to go. Waste of time and money. When the kids barely touch it that's a sign of bad pizza.

This place is a joke. I came with my boyfriend and my sister for drinks and pizza. We all ordered and he couldn’t give my boyfriend a beer because he forgot his ID (understandable) however I ordered a margarita and my younger sister ordered a sangria and we showed him our IDs. He only brought out my sisters sangria without saying anything. All of our food came out and after 20 minutes I still had no drink. We asked him for the margarita again and all he said was “yea”. ??? We finished our food and still nothing. I go inside to ask the waiter about it again and he was just standing there on his phone. he told me that the picture on my ID was not me. My picture on my drivers license is from when I was 18 and I’m 24 now. I let him look at it again and he still wouldn’t take it. He could’ve just told me that he didn’t feel comfortable serving me a drink but instead just completely ignored us for the remainder of the time we were there. Learn how to communicate with your customers.

Don't get me wrong, place itself is a nice vibe. But we sat there waiting for who knows how long til I got up and asked the waitress can we order and she said another waiter will come . And I asked can we order drinks at the bar while we wait but they said the waiter will take our order. Sat back down and waited some more, it was about 20min . Finally got our order in, pepperoni pizza with some margs. Waited another 20. Was about to leave but the pizza finally came. Keep in mind we are still waiting for drinks. As we're finishing the pizza. The drinks come out. And honestly, we could've done without. The pizza was ok, reminded me of Peter Piper. Which is fine. Just expected better.

This was straight-up racist behavior. While hispanic customers were in the restaurant, “Ice Ice Baby” was played four times in a row. The moment they left, the music immediately switched to country. The timing was not subtle, and it did not feel like a coincidence. Whether the staff thought it was funny or harmless, it came across as mocking and discriminatory. Businesses should be welcoming to everyone, not creating an atmosphere that singles people out. If this was intentional, it’s unacceptable. If it wasn’t, management needs to seriously evaluate what message they’re sending. I will be contacting the texas workforce comminson. This isn't right

Horrible service, my party and I walked in and sat down and waited for staff to take our drink order. NO ONE EVER CAME. The manager on duty was rolling dice behind the bar. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I liked shortys but after this experience not anymore.
