The good location was one of the main reasons that led us to choose this apartment. When we moved in, we noticed several good points. The rooms are clean and very well-kept. The covered garage with an electronic gate gives us more security. The well-kept pool area is very pleasant in the summer. The washing machines are new and efficient. The spacious, ventilated and very quiet apartments make the Ambassador a pleasant place to live. When necessary, the maintenance man helps us with a smile on his face and is very polite. My husband and I are very happy in this place. I recommend it!

The new building manager gave the building lobby area a nice revamp. Issues (e.g. clogging) tend to get fixed promptly by maintenance. The building is old but I guess that reflects on the price, which is on the lower end in this area. Convenient to be close to San Mateo downtown.

The only pro of this place is its close proximity to downtown San Mateo. Everything else is abysmal. Manager is nowhere to be found. Maintenance request are left high and dry. There’s only 1 washer/dryer working in the entire building at a time. The front door doesn’t even open properly. Packages get stone. Garbage is left out. Walls are super thin so unless you have very considerate neighbors, prepare to lose sleep. Overall, save your sanity and rent somewhere else

Only saving grace is the location and proximity to Downtown San Mateo. If you like cockroaches crawling around, garbage left in the garbage chute room, and paper thin walls; this is the place for you. If you like your packages stolen constantly from the lobby from the some of the shady tenants, look no further. Since October 2023, some tenant moved in and decided they can take whatever package they want from the lobby. Management would not do anything about the stolen packages. Price seems low but don't forget to add the cost of renting a PO Box /mailbox from USPS/UPS. Apartment can be nice with better tenants which is the sad part.

Hallways stinks, elevador smells like pee, carpet has stains, the 1 bed. Is poorly fixed, smells also, but for the price what can you expect?! Cabinets old, bathroom & kitchen. Yet the property manager is sketchy

Not pet friendly. They allow pets for $750 security deposit and $75 a month, but no pet amenities.

6% Rent increase during COVID19. Washer and dryer frequently break down all time. Parking very small. Couple week ago kids are playing around breakdown my windshield auto glass in car. During Covid19 We have to spend money to fix windshield glass in my car. My family lost job in March COVID-19. We just get mail mid May rent increase 6%. We are staying here last 3 year up. Last 2 year was rent increase only 4%. we still playing garbage and water bill around 120$-130$ month. Increase every year We trying To call manger (Kristin) never pick up. No response back
