Tip: Go early to avoid a wait and get a window seat for the best views. Consider the outdoor seating if you don't mind the fishy scent from the nearby sea lions.

Everything we had was delicious! Especially the cow shaped buns — so cute.
Came here for lunch and had a window view on a beautiful day. Super quick service, we enjoyed the variety, my mom had ramen, we had bento boxes with teriyaki and sashimi and our toddler loved the piggy buns. Amazing service from Rex who was professional, chill, and kind. Highly recommend, was way less busy than Dukes but quality just as good.
Half of us from Vegas, the others from Temecula...in town for the day for a bday. Bday girl wanted sushi and we found this spot near the sea lion, SO good!!!! Loved the food, honestly expected to pay more, it really is phenomenal food!!! We come every few months to the beach, this will be part of our trip each time now!! Got there right at opening (11:30 i think), sat right down and had a great time.
Amazing restaurant with an incredible view, excellent selection of food, very fresh sushi fish (stocked daily), and all at a reasonable price! We had a great time stopping by Blue Ocean for lunch during our day trip to the Cove. A little off the main street, it offers likely one of the best views of the shoreline (you can see the seals!), but only if you get seated along the window. We tried quite a lot of food. For appetizers, their hamachi kama (cheeks) were huge and delicious! For entrees, their ramens were balanced and well made, but their raw fish options stand out. We had their Rainbow (soft shell crab) and Marine Boy (spicy tuna) rolls, and both were delicious, and portions were generous (see pics). Additionally, their have an Omakase Box which, when we visited, was priced at $55. It may change in content and price when you visit. However, as someone who's had a lot of sushi (including many times in Japan), this box was objectively excellent. I received a generous serving of essentially everything on their a la carte menu: eel, uni, toro, hamachi, albacore, maguro, and salmon, along with a nice seaweed salad and some tekka maki. We were very impressed! Even from a supermarket this collection would easily run $50+, and here we were enjoying super fresh, high quality sashimi (for instance, uni had no fishiness and light sweetness) with an ocean view at a reasonable price. We'll probably return just to eat this again (independent of the view and the Cove). Service was... mixed. There were some friendly folks, and some that were less so. We did have a service-related issue come up during our visit, which could have made it a 3-star rather than a 5-star experience, but fortunately, the manager, Ozzy, came through for us to save the day. Thanks again Ozzy! All in all, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back, and I highly recommend stopping by as part of a Cove day or just to eat the sushi.
We went here for lunch on a weekday so that it's not so busy in LaJolla. Parking was still an issue and we ended up parking in a lot for $20. We were seated at the last table by the window. Yes! Gorgeous view of the ocean, the many varieties of birds, and sea lions sunbathing on the beach below. We took advantage of their great lunch special. You get to choose an appetizer and entree. We both chose the pork belly bao and a full size ramen combo for $18. The Me So Hot ramen was delicious with a nice heat. Delicious!
This is hands down our favorite Asian spot in La Jolla — and honestly, probably in all of San Diego. The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning, and the food is consistently excellent while still being very reasonably priced. They don’t take reservations, so you’ll want to come early and expect a line, but it’s completely worth the wait. The character buns are always a hit with kids — fun, cute, and delicious. I’ve been coming here for years and have tried almost every dish on the menu, and most of them are exceptionally cooked. The sushi rolls are fantastic — our favorite is the Padres roll (pictured). The salads are also great; the cucumber salad (also pictured) is so simple but incredibly fresh and tasty. If you’re looking for amazing food, great prices, and one of the best views in La Jolla, this is the place. Highly recommend — you won’t be disappointed!
This restaurant was DELICIOUS and fairly priced! It can be difficult to be full and not break the bank when visiting Cali, but this place does it right. Every dish was beautiful, delicious, and filling. I had a poke bowl, which was one of the best I've ever tasted! My son's girlfriend had sushi, one son had a bento box, and the husband and other son both ordered ramen. All were spectacular! I don't know if it would be possible to order something bad off this menu. Pretty views of the water and very friendly service!!
Cute little restaurant with outdoor patio by the ocean. The scent in La Jolla is fishy due to the pelican, comorants, and sea lions. Should be considered if seated with ocean view outside. The food was delicious , the Nutella bao definitely our favorite. But, who doesn't love Nutella or baos?
Harumama is known for their ramen and cute animal-designed buns and the vibes by ocean are just perfect. It felt like customer service was a bit slow when we visited but maybe because we were just starving for food. Either way, it was a great way to wrap up the day after visiting Torrey Pines day. The yellowtail jalapeno roll is fresh and flavorful with a tangy sauce. The grilled hanachi kama tasted soft, and the ribeye terayaki was a flavor blast with the softest beef pieces. The character buns are adorable, memorable, and tasty. The bun is so soft and both the cow beef and bunny Nutella buns are a great pick!
This is a solid fusion spot and there aren’t any bad options on the menu. That being said, the value might not be there. But given that it is La Jolla, I guess that’s a given. Service was adequate and satisfactory considering the amount of dollar signs on the menu. Portions certainly were large enough and the quality of the food was excellent. Sashimi was perfectly cut and prepared and the ramen had fantastic broth. The patio is a very nice area but if you’re not sitting immediately at the railing, views are very limited. Wait times for food varied on the dish, but getting a table during lunch hour midweek was a nonissue. Overall a good experience. Very much recommend if you are looking to get a hearty meal that was clearly prepared with passion in an upscale yet attainable area.
Came in for a weekday lunch while in the area. The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. The restaurant was stunning, and we got seated right away. Unfortunately the service was not the best. Our food didn't come out at the same time and we had to go inside to request for soy, silverware, and straws. We absolutely loved the views and the sushi was incredible, we will be back.
The food here was very good, the bulgogi fries were kind of soggy at the bottom, but very delicious nonetheless. The calamari was great, and the broths for the noodles were also amazing. Sushi rolls were also very flavorful. The dessert was good, but it’s more stunt food than anything amazing. Overall, I would come visit this place again, very enjoyable experience with a nice ocean view.
A bit pricey but everything we tried we loved aside from the piggy bao buns. It tasted more like an Italian meatball. My favorite side was the corn cheese! Best one I've had in SD. The chicken bun tacos were to die for too! Will definitely be back. Shout out to Sophia, best hostess and excellent customer service!! We were really impressed.
Good spot and good service. The view of the ocean is for sure the best part. Food is pretty good, I got ramen and my friends loved their meals. We did share their very popular animal buns, I was not a fan and I wouldn't get them again. Pretty overpriced too. Nothing about this place really stood out. I'd come here again for that view....
Best thing is the view and no crowds to sit next to the window for a Wednesday lunch. Food is fine and above average. We have no complaints other than the overall decor looks a little old and shabby but we mostly looked at the ocean anyway. Grilled fish jaw is highly recommended perfectly seasoned and grilled.
Our first time dining here to celebrate Mother's Day with my friends. It has a great view of the ocean and a cove. Great place, very clean, lots of space to dine in. Their window seat with a view has a waiting list. Staff sat us to the very small table with only 4 chairs. I have to go to the front desk to ask if they can extend the table because we will be ordering this much food and it won't fit on the table she gave us. The waitress wasn't really attentive. They will only come to us when we call them. But they are friendly. The food was amazing. Everything tasted so good, and ambiance is relaxing with their great choice of music. You can watch the cook while they make your noodles and buns fresh.
This place has good potential and has an amazing view but I feel the waiters never came to check on us. Never got a water refill. The chicken Ramen and bulgolgi udon were really good! The calamari was overcooked which was disappointing but overall it's a good spot to check out for a date night
An amazing view of the ocean if you request to sit next to the window. We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us while seated and it was very slow. The food was good! The service was okay, they had gluten free noodle options, but the most of the broths itself were not GF. the view was so so beautiful which made the evening so lovely! Not too expensive, lots of space for large parties.
