Wait time was a little much but they was packed, so it should be expected. Food was great and the staff was very friendly and professional. Staff went out of their way to make us happy after the long wait time.

The food was delicious, the waiter Dominic was attentive and very friendly. The GM it introduced himself and was very nice. The floors were clean. The tables were clean. They're very friendly. Greeted us as we walked in the door, we were seated very quickly. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

The bartender Miss Serena was the absolute best bartender she took care of tables, door and bar people very attentive never ran out of drink. Thank you so much ma’am I sure do miss having good service at Applebees.

After having not been to an Applebee’s location in quite some time, I was pretty excited to go. I remembered they had a deli-style cold cuts sandwich that was just phenomenal. And while I didn’t get said sandwich when we visited the S. Loop 289 location, what I did get was a clean establishment with a cozy atmosphere and ambient lighting and second-to-none service from a gentleman whom I tipped the equivalent of one third of the total bill. Granted, fantastic service makes or breaks one’s experience at a restaurant like this and if he had not been such a good waiter this probably would have only gotten 4 stars because the whiskey bacon burger I did get was just so-so. The fries were great and my wife’s dish was tasty but I really wish I would have gotten the sandwich I had remembered from yesteryear. Something they didn’t serve way back when...the Dew Berry Burst...coming from a self-proclaimed Mountain Dew FREAK, this might just be the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Imagine normal Dew but with a shot or two of delicious Strawberry Bubbilicious. It was divine. All in all we WILL be eating here again and I’d tell all my friends to do the same. I can’t speak for any other Lubbock location but the one on S. Loop 289 is doing things right!

We did the 2/$25. We were both pleased with our choices - the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Double Crunch Shrimp and Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp. I also ordered the $2 Brewtus Hurricane special they have running for Mardi Gras. It was sooo good! They have a $1 hurricane as well that comes with beads right now.

My food is always great. However, if you get a steak, it tends to be a bit overcooked. (You order medium rare and you get medium) Service varies. Sometimes it's great and sometimes you think the waitress/waiter has forgotten about you.

Prime rib sandwich was pretty good for lunch! Our service was sub par even though the place was empty. I understand why their sales have been declining! Might return but there's better options in the area

It was a decent experience. Service was lacking but when he did show up, he was very nice. Food was surprisingly good, didn't expect that. Cleanliness is lacking as well and it wasn't even busy.

We've been coming to Applebee's for a few years now and today's experience has been my favorite. John was our waiter and was very enjoyable. There was another waiter who was working there who was great as well, unfortunatelyi didnt catch his name. They both interacted with us and our 4 year old bringing lots of laughter. The music was different this time as well, a settle upbeat and more lively than it's been in the past. I was bobbing my head to it almost the whole meal. We enjoyed this new wait-staff and atmosphere very much.

I would like to thank Jazmin P for her great service! She did an amazing job at recommending a good appetizer and staying on top of all my wants and needs while I was at this establishment. I ordered a steak medium rare and unfortunately it came out barely medium, BUT the flavor and how tender and juicy it was made up for that. The mashed potatoes could stand some seasoning. The restaurant barely had any customers, but our wait time to be seated was 20 min. In fairness, they were very short staffed. I noticed that other partrons had some issues with their orders. Our waitress, Cassondra, was was very sweet and friendly. She took our order right away. We did, however, have to ask for silverware and napkins. When our food arrived, the french fries weren't very hot. But the rest of our food was very good. My 3 rating is due to the the lack of staffing. I don't fault those who were there working. That's a management issue.

They were out of several items we ordered. Quality of what we finally got was sub-par but generous quantity. Facility was short staffed and dirty. My shoes stuck to the floor. Waitress was great. She did everything she could to overcome the deficiencies of this location. The cheese bites were very tasty.

Traditionally the food was great, husband and I ate dinner and had drinks Under $40! Reason for the Low stars for this location was the service. Only 2 servers. Had to wait for our drink order that were delivered to the table just before our dinner arrived. Bartender was trying to help seat customers and wait on them in his section. We had to address the staff to seat some elderly that had waited so long they say down themselves. Watched other customers get frustrated waiting to be served. I will say our waiter was friendly but was slow in retrieving simple items. Seemed very distracted.

This restaurant is pretty run down already. The corner booth we were put at had crayon scribbles all over the wall. the restaurant was almost empty like 2 other tables were there...and wasn't even the cleanest floor from the night before. That made me cringe thinking about the kitchen and who was cooking my food. And hate to rag on our waiter but man he made the dining experience even worse. He was a bit awkward. kind and all but didn't look presentable with his long beard and long greasy hair but he didn't smell good either it was very disturbing since he was coming over and handling our food. And the food was good....mine was anyways but Forgot my order of fries....my friend had chicken tenders and they werent good very hard. all and all I like Applebee's food but not this location!!!

I came in with my wife and two kids during the dinner rush about a week ago. Our hostess Miranda was extremely kind and helpful. We didn’t see much of our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our food was brought out in a timely manner. Our server was Amanda. She had a few other tables but to be honest Miranda was helping most of the tables I could see on the side of the restaurant we where on. Amanda was very polite and kind when we did see her, but she seemed very overwhelmed. Management definitely leaves something ti be desired from what we could see and overhear that night. While the host was running around helping everyone we seen what I can only assume to be a manager yelling at the poor girl about over sitting a server and was very rude when she was trying to explain something. We left a tip for our server but also tipped our host because she was spectacular. The food was amazing and the kitchen staff did a wonderful job with our steaks. The bartender was also amazing and our drinks where made perfectly. It’s nice to see this place turning around from what it used to be. Will definitely come back, and definitely hoping that next time, we won’t have to hear amazing staff being belittle by management. The poor girl was doing amazing, and shouldn’t have been spoken to the way she was. My wife was very upset to see the way she was treated, especially with how kind she was to our children and how welcoming and friendly she was.

Food and service was pretty good. The floors and tables were absolutely disgusting. I've never had my feet stick to carpet before, and there was food and paper debris scattered across the floor. They were understaffed so I don't blame the servers for not cleaning as they ran tables. The whole building needs a proper cleaning with shampooed carpets, and refinished tables. It was so gross I almost walked out.

At best it was ok. They are severely understaffed. Our poor watress was rynning around. I ordered artichoke dip, it looked liked it t had been microwaved a few times. I also got a peach sangria. Just sad. Peach wine with some garnish thrown in a giant glass meant for frozen daquris. My husbands beer was terrible, yet they apparently just changed the keg. So it should of been the bestcold beer. Nope warm and flat. The second was beautiful but the glass still smelt of cleaner. The kids food was great and they loved it. Its really a hit or miss. Last time we came it was amazing. This time it was subpar. Several people got up and left. Yet right next to use got great looking food and faster service. I still dont blame our waitress. If they had more employees im sure i wouldnt be leaving as disappointed as i am. If the wonderful waitress would of been able to find the manager she would of fixed what she could of. Sadly he was busy doing other peoples jobs. Very disappointing. The food main course was ok when we finally got it. We were there way over an hour.

They only had one waitress. She was nice but we had to wait a long time for everything. Ordered a margaritas but it was warm. They should hire more people for busy times. The food was ok with a few hiccups. The kids didn't eat their chicken fingers because they were burnt but they seemed to like the pizza.

Sad to say, but Applebee's on 289 can do better. The restaurant was not very clean. There was a used diaper in the parking lot, very close to the main entrance. There was trash in the bushes. Food was average. Service was okay. Greeter looked miserable and didn't smile. Our family didn't feel very welcomed when we arrived. It seemed like it was a problem that there was 6 of us. I'll just stick to my usual places that never disappoint. I tried it cause a commercial said they had the best wings, they were average at best. This place wasn't the worst but I wouldn't go back.

On the left is the limited time holiday drink I ordered. On the right is what I got. It looked and tasted nothing like I expected from the photo and accompanying description. When I brought this up to the server and then the manager I was told they don't actually have the materials to make the drink as shown. No apologies, no offer to make another drink or discount the one I had since it was not as advertised.

The whole restaurant looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, the men's restroom floor was sticky and that followed out all the way to the carpet. You could see a two foot wide stain going from the restrooms to the front of the restaurant. The tables weren't clean and we found 2 seemingly termites on the table surface. The order for the bourbon steak seemed to be the 6 oz sirloin and was over seasoned with garlic it essentially tasted like garlic and blood...

This was the biggest waste of $50 I have ever spent. I was traveling through Lubbock Texas and stayed at a hotel 2 miles away from Applebee's. I ordered the Asian salad, 2 side salads and a grilled chicken tender salad. None of them were good, they all had brown wilted lettuce. Thw side salad that I had ordered with the Asian salad had this mystery juice in it as seen below. I called Applebee's and a dude answered the phone finally and said his name was Paul. I explained to Paul what had happened he replies with would you like to speak to the manager? Well yeah I would like to speak to the manager unless Paul you can fix it for me? So I waited for a couple of minutes and hung up. I realized that the "manager" wasn't coming to the phone. I had ordered through door dash which picked up the food in 2 minutes after Applebee's "so called" cooks prepared it. So 2 miles later chicken was cold croutons were like someone had sucked all the flavoring off them and placed in our salads, soggy and disgusting. I did not get a pic of it sorry. But I did get a pic of the mystery juice as mentioned above. I figured if I travel a bit I will get some really good food from all these different regions. Boy was I wrong I have ate at alot of places the past few months and this absolutely tops the cake. I see why Applebee's in Lubbock Texas has a whopping 3.5 stars which in my honest opinion is a big stretch for even that. MYSTERY JUICE 👇🏼

We came to the Applebees in Lubbock, Texas at about 8:00 p.m. No host was at the host stand when we walked in. It took 10 minutes waiting for someone the bartender to greet us. Sat at our table for about 20 minutes watching the wait staff clear off tables very slowly before someone to came and asked us if we would like something to drink and take our order. She came back later with lukewarm waters with the excuse that they didn't have any ice. Good thing we didn't want a soda or a lemonade. She brought us our salad and just plopped silverware and napkins in the center of the table. Only saving grace was that the food was good. You could tell that there was no manager on duty. Worse service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Tried to do the survey that was listed on our receipt and I received the message that the code on the receipt that I entered was invalid. Tried twice with no success.

Definately not the best visit tonite. When we arrived, we had to wait almost 2 minute to be greeted by the hostess. Then we waited 15 minutes for the server to arrive to take drink orders. We all ordered the salad, appetizer, entree for $12.99 - 15.99. 1 salad arrived with one server, then another salad arrived with a different server. 8 minutes later, the other 2 salads and 1 appetizer arrived with yet another server. 4 minutes later, 2 appetizers and 1 entree arrived...and we are still eating salads since they didnt all come out at the same time. Our waiter then brought 2 more entrees. The fourth entree finally arrived by yet another server 7 minutes later. My order was not exactly right - ordered 6 oz sirloin, medium and a loaded baked potato with everything on the side. Thr steak was actually med rare and everything was piled on top of the potato. Since our server was MIA, I just scraped off what I didnt want and ate the steak - good thing I am not totally adverse to med rare. Our server came around 1 time and brought me another water. After we had finished, some other guy came and said "Let me get the plates out of your way". Never asked if everything was alright or anything. I was taking care of the check, so I didnt see him till he was walking off. As we left, I noticed that he appeared to be the manager because he was wearing a black long sleeve button down shirt. Once we got outside, we noticed the parking lot lights were not on, neither were the outside building lights (time was 730 pm and quite dark). We had 2 elderly people with us, 1 of which has visual limitations and using a cane. I had my husband go back in and tell them the lights were not on. After several minutes, the lights were still not on, so he went back in to tell then again. The response from the host was "I told the manager, there isnt anything else I can do". Finally, after we got everyone to the car, the lights finally came on. I have a problem with a dark parking lot...too many trip hazards and curbs that are hard to see are dangerous for anyone, not just the elderly with mobility issues.

This is by far the worst Applebee's I have been to. • Took too long to be seated when the location was near empty. • We waited over an hour for food BUT a friend of an employee came in after, and got their food before my family. • Our drinks ran out and we never got refills. • My father's chicken was like a brick • My kids Mac and cheese was cold. • Extremely dirty location. • Provocative music playing in a "family friendly" food establishment. • Last but not least, I am currently in the sticky dirty bathroom because the food made me sick. I would give it a zero if I could, the manager or a guy named John, set a us said somebody be right with us waited for over 20 minutes before anybody even acknowledge us in the restaurant because I had to say something, somebody finally to come get our drink order. Which took him about 10 minutes to bring our drinks and then he’s like are you already ordering any more time? I am politely said we bit far been waiting here 20 minutes without anybody knowledge in us so yes we’ve been ready. We placed our order waited 40 minutes still not food so I paid for the two soft drinks we got and left. I don’t recommend coming to this place ever. If you want terrible customer service this is a place to go.

Service was horrible, the server never turned in our orders. When we got our order, one was wrong then both steaks were not right. The Margarita was wrong. When we talked to the manager, he gave us some horrible excuse. We will definitely never eat here again.

Service was super slow we waited over 2 hours for us to be seated after being told by the host that there was a 45 minute wait as we watched multiple people come in and sit themselves towards the bar area after being told by the host that we could not sit there and we had to wait for a table. The manager there on duty she might have been the GM finally came out and started gathering a waiting list we waited about an extra 45 minutes before we were finally seated while there were multiple tables empty, we finally were able to order from the bar which took another 30 minutes as the bartender didn’t want to do his job. The only good part of this entire visit was our waitress maryisa who was fabulous & kept us updated on our orders! Other than that I would not recommend this establishment and they definitely need to be closed down/trained properly. We had to even call the manager there on duty over to our table as we were wondering what was taking so long with our drinks from the bar she was very helpful and made sure our drinks were out 2 minutes later. The host was unhelpful and had no idea what was going on. The food was mediocre not worth the money we spent there! I will not be returning to this apple bees! Went for dinner, they weren't busy at all and ended up waiting an hour for two salads. Our queso for the chips and queso was cold, and our server would walk around and stare at us without checking in. She also walked around with my card for 10 minutes before running it so we could leave. Worst service ever.

Went inside to a mostly empty restaurant, waited 5 minutes for our party of 2 to be sat. When finally sat, we were brought to a dirty table that still had used cups on it. After cleaning the table and taking our drink order, it took almost 15 minutes to get our cocktail from the bar. When our food finally came out, my partner’s steak was made incorrectly both times, and she gave up getting it remade after the second time it was done wrong. The best item we ate was the precooked dessert. The rest of the food was mid at best. Possibly the worst service we’ve ever received. So bad we almost walked out before food even arrived. Showed up just before 8 pm on a Sunday and there was maybe 20-30 people in the entire restaurant. Took almost 10 minutes for waitress to come see us for drinks. I ordered a beer with my food and after almost an hour later, my family got their food except me. Almost 20 minutes later our waitress finally showed up and didn't even realize I never got my food nor my beer. My wife didn't even eat her food. She apologized and all and we realize she doesn't work in the kitchen but waiting over 2 hours is a bit much. She hardly came to check on us and had the host bring our tab in a very rude way, after she went and told him about our table. After waiting another 15 minutes or so she finally came to give take our card to pay for the tab. At least the food is good but their service is absolutely horrible.

Walked in with family ready for lunch. Our table was dirty, and sticky. Wife keeps Lysol wipes on her bag, so we cleaned it. Placed order and got our drinks, and waited. Waited for almost 45 min, and still no food. Restaurant was not that busy. It was after 2:00pm on a Sunday afternoon. Ended up getting up to leave. I tried to pay for our drinks, the only thing we received, but the manager comped it with an apology. Thanks for that. Not planning on coming back tho.

This was a second return. WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. The waiter acted like we were an in convenience. And the food was god-awful.

First off, I leave a ton of reviews and it's rare that I ever leave negative ones. The fact I am this time is really saying something. I wish I would have gotten pictures of what I am describing but we didn't stay long enough for that to happen. This place is really gone to hell. The carpets are disgustingly dirty and have obviously never been replaced or maybe even cleaned since this place opened and there were flies flying around right near the host stand. My wife and I stepped in today and the host didn't even acknowledge us for several minutes and then barely said anything seating us at a table. The booth we were seated at was dirty and my seat was broken, causing me to almost fall out of the chair if I didn't catch my hand on the floor when the whole seat flipped up. Feeling how gross the floor felt, especially after having seen how bad it was before that was enough for me. We decided to just leave immediately instead of eating anything. I have never seen an Applebee's in this condition before and will not be back to this one again unless I read in the news that there are drastic changes made. I'm sure the health inspector would have a field day at this location.

I can't explain how terrible the experience was. We waited to be seated when it wasn't busy. 3pm on a Saturday! We waited to get a server to come to our table. When she finally came out, she went to the table that was seated after us. When ordering, well that was a debacle. She couldn't get it right at all. It took an hour to get our drinks and that was after ordering 45 minutes before. So at the hour mark we finally got our water, iced tea and one alcohol drink. She couldn't remember the ice tea to refill it.

Absolutely horrible service!!! Could not get acknowledged by anyone while picking up a online order. They weren't busy. The host was extremely rude and unhelpful. The bartender barely paid attention to me. The waiters acted as if I was invisible. 35 minutes waiting for a burger and another 10 just to get the drink. The attitude the host continued to give me the entire time I was in the restaurant was extremely unprofessional. I asked the host if he could check on the order because I couldn't get the attention of the bartender and he huffed and puffed as if it was beneath him and an inconvenience to help me. UNEXCUSABLE!!!

This place is dirty. I have gone to other, well run Applebees for years for a cocktail or two, but this place is lacking experienced bartenders. Ive come here 3-5 times now, and haven’t yet had a decent gin martini. Other Applebees are usually busy on a Friday night, but this place is dead. I guess the word has gotten around. If someone doesn’t turn this place around real quick, it WILL close.

In what world is this a medium steak? Not only was it overcooked, it was super dry. So for starters, my well steak turned out well done. That alone was disappointing. But there was way more. My daughter requested the child's chicken tenders plate for my grandson to be grilled chicken. It was fried. I'm not sure what my son-in-law requested; however, it came with fries. Fries didn't make it to the table. He received his initial glass of water and that was it. No offer of a refill. Sure, we could have requested a refill... if the server had come around to the table. Then, we had to have waited for our meal at least a half hour, if not longer. Understandable if the place had been swarming but, for a Sunday afternoon, there was no crowd whatsoever. We were eating with a one-year old. He became very fussy because he got hungrier while waiting for the meal and if I thought I could get away with it, I'd have started crying too because I got hungrier while waiting as well! When all was said and done, I asked to speak to management. Eddie Murphy showed up and there was nothing funny about that. After detailing our disappointing lunch, his response was that he'd check the ticket and with the kitchen to see what had happened with the meal. So we paid about $45 for a thoroughly disappointing lunch. Eddie did request we ask for him next time we were in but why would he assume we'd want to be back? Applebee's used to be one of our favorite places to have a meal and drink but something went wrong today. And not just a little wrong... but massively wrong.

Horrible place sat there for 30 minutes no one even asked what we wanted to drink. I am a server myself and understand if it is busy but there was 4 tables in there .😂😂 When we were leaving the sever tried to stop us, I told her “we were waiting for 30 minutes” she said “I’m aware”. Very unprofessional & trashy. I don’t recommend.

Should have known by the empty parking lot at 6pm on a weekday! Music to loud, floor dirty, table had to be wiped off, womens bathroom filthy. On to the food--tasted like old grease, bourbon steak was not bourbon steak, cold mashed potatoes, soured sweet tea. Service just ok. Overall terrible experience.

The worst 6oz steak I have ever tried to eat. It was so tuff that I did not take it to my dog. Overall a very bad experience. Appetizer came out the same time as our entrees. Ordered a beer and they were out of my brand so I ordered another brand and had to ask for it they forgot.

Where do I even begin? I should’ve trusted my instincts the moment we pulled up to a restaurant that looked completely abandoned from the outside—no lights, no signs of life. Maybe that was my first warning. But we pushed forward, only to be greeted by a hostess who seemed more interested in complaining than seating us. Then came the confusion. Who was our waiter? Nobody knew! It was like a game of hot potato, except the only thing hot about this experience was my growing frustration. Meanwhile, other diners around us began reaching their limit and left. I should have followed their lead. Eventually, we managed to order drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer was warm (a miracle), but that was the last stroke of luck for the night. After waiting for what felt like a full season of my life, we finally got to order our entrées. Then we waited… and waited… and waited. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. Not just “sat for a few minutes” cold, but “straight out of the fridge” cold. My salad’s chicken? Ice cold. My boyfriend’s steak? Cold and undercooked. His mac & cheese and fries? Cold. At this point, I wasn’t sure if we were dining at Applebee’s or auditioning for a survival show where we had to eat raw food. We flagged down our waiter (after, you guessed it, another eternity), and he kindly said the manager would take the food off our bill. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. That process took yet another eternity. Meanwhile, I watched more customers grow impatient. One table left. Another table hadn’t even gotten their food, and when they reminded their waiter, he forgot what they ordered. Another table’s margaritas? MIA for 30+ minutes. It was chaos. To say the least, I will never be stepping foot in this Applebee’s again. I refuse to wait another eternity for disappointment. This location either needs new management or a full-on exorcism. Honestly, should I be calling the health department? Because I’m considering it.

The tables windows and restrooms were dirty.. The food was barely warm. Was not impressed.

I went to Applebee’s in Hobbs, New Mexico. I got one of the dinners which is two for 25. It was a three dollar up charge. If you got the riblets it was on the menu. Here I am again today at Applebee’s in Lubbock, Texas and I tried to order the same thing, but the manager here said no I had to do what was on the two for 25 no substitution and on their menu it doesn’t say three dollar up charge . I asked for a salad that comes with my order and the waiter said it would be ANOTHER UPCHARGE. BEWARE of the Lubbock Applebees the nickel a dime you. And Very dirty, had to have my table wiped down before sitting down ( empty restaurant) BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE Now I know why the Applebees on Milwaukee Ave closed.

UPDATE; I contacted Applebees national customer service in July 23 2024 and the lady looked my google review and today July 24th the pole is still there see newest photo below. I drive by this place everyday and it hardly ever has more than a couple cars in the lot. Personally never been a fan but, this light pole has been laying in their lot for 3 days with broken glass all over the lot and they have not cleaned it up. I would imagine there’s live wiring also exposed.

Not worth 100 dollars paying . Food was nasty and very disappointing. Never going here again . Don’t even have no taste . Could of done better at home

No hostess. Table was super sticky. After 15-20 minutes at a dirty table, nobody ever waited on us. Hardly had any patrons it it and the neighboring restaurants were packed

Arrived at 2 pm with hardly anyone there dining in. Had a party of 7, so they got us seated pretty quick. Set at the table close to 20 min before anyone came and got our drink order. It looked like they maybe had 3 to 4 employees working. Came over to take our drink order, and we got that fairly quickly. Did not see the waiter again for quite some time. I had to go to the bar to get my own refills for the table at least 3 different times. Finally got our food. Some of it was good. Some of it was terrible. Set there after everyone was done and finally had to waive the server down to get our to go box that we had asked for 10min prior and our check. I would leave a 0 for the review if it would let me. We were there for 2hrs with a pretty much empty restaurant. Don't not recommend going!!!

I have eaten st Applebee's for years. My boyfriend and I moved to Lubbock recently and this was our 1st time eating at this location. What a disappointment! The food was so bad we ended up leaving and had to go somewhere else to eat.

Literally bad experience as can be no Ice in are drinks waiting over a hour for food when it’s only 3 people the server was ignoring us half the time definitely not worth the money or the time

If I could give a zero star review I would. Should have know better by the lack of cars outside at 7:00 PM on a Sunday evening. Went in with my wife and 2 kids. Wasn't greeted by anyone. No big deal. We sat ourself at a high top table near the bar. The restaurant was dead. There is 2 people sitting at the bar... The bartender clearly sees us walk in and sit down. 15 mins later not a single person says a word to us. Not a "someone will be right with you " or anything. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt like I always do until a group comes in and sits a table away from us and is instantly helped by a server. Unbelievable. Pretty sure the manager was sitting at the end of the bar watching basketball on TV and not paying attention to his own restaurant as well. Too bad their lack of customer service is hurting them so bad as evident in other reviews I see on here as well, because they have some good food specials I was looking forward to trying. Would not be surprised to see this place go under here in Lubbock. Way too many other options with people that actually care about their customers.

I hadn’t been in this restaurant for several years because the service was so bad and the food was mediocre at best. Fast forward to today .. brought my family for my nephew’s birthday arriving somewhere around 6:20. We were greeted promptly and our server Emilio was nice. The restaurant was not busy… I believe there were 6 tables including ours so I was hopeful that our experience would be good…. I quickly realized that things there were much the same as it was 6 years ago when it took 20 minutes to bring an order of cheese sticks that were lukewarm … a smoothie my daughter ordered also took 20 minutes and my daughter watched the bartender ask the manager how to make it while they both carried on their conversation with no sense of urgency. The drink wasn’t blended properly so there were chunks of ice that kept clogging up the straw. Our food finally made it to the table around 40 minutes after we ordered… our burgers were cold and had a soggy bun …chicken strips were cold, yet severely overcooked along with the fries. I ordered a chicken cilantro lime rice bowl & the chicken was overcooked. I ordered a salad to go ( nothing difficult, just grilled shrimp Caesar’s salad) and it took another 25 minutes, after we finished eating, for it to come out. We finally left around 7:55. … I will NEVER return to this place. The faces of the other customers showed that they were equally annoyed with their experience. I don’t know how this place is still open.

Understaffed. Food took almost an hour. Steak came out with "sides" that don't exist. Check the picture. Was told the onions and mushrooms were one of the two sides. Way too much money for the food. Could have went to Longhorn for the same or less and had 10x the quality.

Husband n I got here at 6pm. Left at 7:20 pm due to no service. Took forever to get anyone to take our order for are drinks. My drink wrong so she took it back We got our salad before the appetizer. Still no drink got our food... still no drink. Half way through my steak brought the drink it was wrong but I didn't want to send it back cause it took forever to get this one. Never saw the waitress again. Husband needed a refill so i shared mine . We had to get the bus boy to get our ticket to pay. Food was great horrible service.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I saw their commercial on TV and it looked really good (haven’t been there in about a year). Decided to go there for lunch. Maybe 3 tables total in the restaurant. We were sat down immediately. While our server was getting drinks, we decided what we wanted to eat. We put in our order right away, thinking we would be in and out within 30 min which is how it should be when you’re not even packed. We waited 20 min to get our food. It was cold. Mozzarella sticks were cold, pasta and chicken were cold. Employees (who was the manager) was sitting down talking to someone instead of assessing the issue in the kitchen. I can see why most of them are closing. No care in the world on their part and shocked they are still open. We ended up going to outback next door which always has better food. Needless to say, do not waste your time there.

This place sucked completely!!! Charged us $70 for dry nasty cold food. Only one person running around to all the tables. No good customer service. Not checked on one time. First and last time here once again it SUCKED food tasted old and cold. Never been somewhere this bad. .

I went there to eat a good food today, but when I got there, the service was terrible. The person up around setting people down was not happy, not cheerful and not even talk about. We sat down on our table. The waitress looked like he was mad we asked for a A highchair it looks like he was mad when we asked for it comes out, saying that they didn’t have no ice. The drinks were gonna be cold. I asked him we’re right next to Walmart could not they cannot get any ice. He just smiled Food took forever to come out had to be at work at four We get our food and it looks messy. I got the lemon chicken plate. The food was cold. The rice was too dry. We get the dipping spinach sauce in. It looks like it was just one scoop and small. I should’ve taken pictures but I did it. I was so mad I just wanted to leave the place. I had people talk about this place being not good service at all and people that works there are not presentable of anything. I am too unhappy for what I got today. I will never go back to this place ever again. This is ridiculous. I should’ve just went somewhere else to eat. Y’all need more people to help in your building because this is ridiculous. I used to be a manager before at a restaurant. I know how it is higher more people and believe me it will be easier. No more complaints easy food looking nice good food not food. That’s just been throwing on the plate just like that that’s ridiculous in them coming out telling us there is no ice so they couldn’t serve any drinks

Walked into the restaurant and the entrance smelled like vomit. It didn’t get much better inside the restaurant. My wife and I walked in with our son and said we would need a high chair. The hostess said she would bring a high chair, also gave my sons kids menu to another table and said she would bring another one. Waiter came and took our drink order, we were barely able to get the words out of our mouth before he said “okay” and walked away. He brought our waters to our table a couple of minutes later, didn’t say anything just dropped them at the table and walked away. After about 10 minutes of no waiter, no high chair and no kids menu we decided to leave. We’ve had bad experiences here before but we decided to give it another try because chilis was on an hour long wait. Won’t be returning to this restaurant. We know it’s not a brand issue because we’ve been to other locations in other cities. But this one doesn’t even come close to those locations.

This applebees was not very good tables and floors dirty. Ordered the classic combo the chips sat under heat lamp alittle to long the artichoke dip was hot on the surface cold in the center. Service was poor nice people but not a good experience will probably not go back

First, they had no regular fries and required an up charge just to get waffle fries. Second of all, the place was empty and it took forever to get our food. Third of all, our waitress disappeared and when we tried to pay our bill, we had to get up from our seats and hunt down the manager to settle our bill. Probably one of the worst restaurants in Lubbock.

Multiple dirty tables, bar tender and server both very “meh” and grumpy. There’s 4 people here plus us so a total of 6. Very slow. No need for this kind of customer service. Even our drink was brought out wrong which isn’t a huge deal but like what’s happening??? They’re acting like it’s slammed here. Even just to be sat we weren’t greeted. Standing there a few minutes til the bartender said something finally. Which again, not a huge deal but it’s DEAD for this size restaurant. What is the problem??

It ok, the wait time for food unfortunately sucks, also with me having soy, mustard seed and my partner with shellfish allergies, I just got looked at without them checking with the chef if anything had soy in it besides what was had on it. So I honestly ate kinda in fear. Also wrong orders and they seemed all over the place. My son didn’t get him dinner and we had to feed him from our plates on what we had. Would not recommend this place. Also my broccoli was cold.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. We went there for the 2nd time since we moved to Lubbock 2 years ago and 2’times we stood in the doorway without being greeted or seated. We waited a few minutes, left and went next door to Outback where we were greeted and seated immediately. This is what we did last time too. Had bread and drinks in 5 minutes with a very pleasant server. Applebees was dirty and the tables were dirty. No one even looked at us. This is why your company is in trouble.

Went 30 minutes after opening and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Toilet paper on the floor. Barely any fresh tissue. The trash can was overfilled and toilets were gross and very dirty. Food wasn’t any better. The mozzarella sticks were nasty the chicken Parmesan as well. Extremely blanned Alfredo sauce that didn’t even taste like Alfredo sauce. All around terrible visit. Didn’t even eat the food just paid and left but did let them know the food wasn’t very good. No response other than “oh really” “well I’ll be right back with the check” Didn’t expect 5 star dining but definitely better than that. Definitely a lot better places to eat around for the same price with a way cleaner establishment and better food.

Applebee’s Review – Disappointing Experience Overall My recent visit to Applebee’s was unfortunately a letdown. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt completely off. Loud club-style music was playing, which clashed with the restaurant’s intended family-friendly vibe. It was confusing and uninviting. While the prices were fair and the service was passable, the lack of organization was evident. The manager was openly doing paperwork in the dining area, which felt unprofessional. Staff members seemed unsure of the menu and had to consult the manager just to confirm basic items. Despite the restaurant not being busy, cleanliness was noticeably lacking, which raised further concerns about how the location is being run. Overall, the experience was underwhelming, and I wouldn’t recommend this particular Applebee’s location to others.

Rice was dry as it is outside on a summer day, chicken was way too lemony, at least the boneless barbecue chicken wings were actually cooked good, took forever to get a refill, took about as long to get the check, don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon
