Consistently Great. Pricey, but the food is worth it. We ate here in the winter, and other than being seated near a cold window (the wind and snow were blowing outside) we really enjoyed it. Just now we returned and ate outside in the front. No complaints!

Birthday-In-A-Box. I wanted a special grilling dinner for my 60th Birthday, but neither my wife nor I want to spend a lot of time prepping and cooking the meal. I have known Hilary for years so I called her to see if Mendon 64 could help us out. She arranged for two Angus Tomahawk Ribeye Steaks to be delivered sealed from her food service and ask Her Chef Carrie to prepare the side. Carrie prepared Cru De Te, Baked Beans with Bacon on top.Seasoned Corn and a fresh Summer Salad All I had to do was Season, Sear, and Grill the Steaks to a perfect Medium Rare temperature and heat up the sides. What a great meal, paired with a Tuscan, Barolo and an Amarone. What a great birthday dinner. Thank you Hilary

I've been here a few times, and I am always impressed. Amazing menu with flawless execution. Make sure you leave room for dessert - they are outstanding. I recommend this place to ask my friends - worth the 20 minute drive from Rochester.

Our kids made us reservations to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had never been here and are so happy we went! The Mendon64 staff were all so nice and they made us feel special as we celebrated! Our food was delicious and we look forward to our next visit! We highly recommend Mendon64!

Relaxing atmosphere, nice bar area. My dinner was beyond expectations. The fish was cooked with a golden flavorful crust on a delicious bed of lavender.

I run an amazon and scientific distribution center in Victor, NY.  When COVID hit we were fortunate enough to become very busy.  We wanted to find a solution to get the healthiest food possible for our employees on busy days, that is when we were fortunate to meet Hillary of Mendon 64.  Each week Hillary proposes a planned menu of lunches that are COVID safe for our employees.  We have a lot of tough dietary restrictions and the Chefs at Mendon always accommodate.  We focus on mainly a vegan menu which has been described by employees as "Magic", it really is delicious nutritious food.  Hillary makes it incredibly easy for us and the whole company now looks forward to these meals.  I strongly recommend Mendon 64 to other companies in the area.

Started with a "Mendon Manhattan", then a delicious yellow beet salad, followed with soft shell crab. Delicious! Very attentive but unobtrusive wait staff. Lovely evening.

Hidden gem for sure! Food was very good. My husband had the chicken parm which he said it melted in your mouth. I had the pork chop special which was very good. We did not have a reservation but not a problem. Great service!

It was our first but not last time going to the 64. If I could give it more stars I would . The food is outstanding they cooked my steak perfect!!!!!! And my wife actually said where has this dish been all my life🤭. All in all the only bad thing I can say is why did we wait so long to try it.

Great dinner on a Saturday night. Very nice bar with a piano player. Friendly staff. Walls decorated with beautiful work from local artists. Menu not the usual fare which was a pleasant surprise. Food was amazing. We will be back!

To me this place is worth it. It is pricey but I feel you get your value especially in how the food tastes. I got the chicken parmesan and typically I can generally not eat it the second day if I take it home. I must say even microwaved it tasted good the second day. My wife got the special and she couldn't stop raving how tender the chicken was. Well Google originally suggested it may be like Ocean prime or Alexander's steakhouse in San Francisco I would not actually put it in that caliber but I would put it in the more intimate high-end caliber. We do plan on ordering more food from there now that we realize they are not that far from us and the dish and the drinks were all great.

As soon as I took the first bite I was transcended to heaven where I met Jesus, Moses and the prophet Mohammed who endowed me with pure enlightenment of the divine flavor. The soup is really good too. I recommend this restaurant.

We will be back. The place was rocking and we came in with no reservations. The owner made us feel important and got us seated quickly. The waitress we had was awesome. Full of personality that was refreshing. All the staff was awesome. We had a couple of different chicken dishes and wow so tender . For what we had and the price and the end was comparable.

Mendon 64 is warm and inviting. Hillary has hosted our holiday party, networking happy hours and I visited a recent bourbon tasting which was great. Staff is always super friendly, attentive and prompt. The kitchen serves up a tasty menu, bartenders good drinks, many creative ones as well and the ambiance has always been friendly, even chatting with strangers. Stop in, you'll love it

I was with 3 other people we all loved our experience an meals. I ordered the special which was orange glazed duck with bacon brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. The duck was cooked perfectly. If looking for excellent cuisine at reasonable prices this is a must place to try!

My husband and I reached out to Mendon 64 to inquire about hosting our rehearsal dinner there. From the get go, Bridget and Hilary were kind, accommodating, and professional. They bent over backwards to make sure we had a perfect evening with our families and closest friends. We utilized their beautiful patio area for cocktail hour and then moved indoors for our delicious dinners. They were right on schedule and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way! Everyone raved about the food and service. I highly recommend hosting your next event there or even stopping by for your next dinner date. It is a gem in the Rochester area!

We really liked Mendon 64! We had a hard time finding the door since there wasn't a sign out front, but we eventually found it! The inside was super cute, for an older school restaurant, but it did smell like must in there. Next time I'd probably eat outside since they have a very cute outdoor area. The lobster egg rolls were the star! They weren't overly fried and you could clearly taste the lobster inside. They were so flavorful and clearly made in house. It came with two delicious dipping sauces but the egg rolls themselves were very moist. The homemade gnocchi was very good! The pad Thai was definitely not authentic, so I would probably order something else next time, but maybe if they labelled it asian noodle stir fry that would be more realistic, since it was still pretty good. The service was on point and the food came out very fast!

Took the family here to celebrate graduation. I cannot recommend this place enough. Quirky and quaint. Very nice atmosphere. Attentive servers. It was completely full but our server was like a duck. I would have given the food 5 stars but my Kobe beef came pre salted 😔 I would definitely come again. The draft beer list is excellent and they have creative cocktails.

I was looking forward to the lobster egg rolls since the reviews sounded good but they were disappointing. Crunchy on the outside but pretty flavorless on the inside. The dipping sauces helped save them. I had the Sheppard pie special which was good but my wife ordered the striped bass. Full of bones which they should have warned her about and her asparagus was very overcooked.

Went here on Valentines day for dinner. They had a special menu that evening and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was attentive and friendly. It was an enjoyable experience.

Overall our server was okay and the food meh...the food came out in bizarre intervals. Two people from our dinner party had to wait 15 min to get their dinner after the rest of us had been served....no explanation was offered as to why. Overall not worth the money and time

Disappointing. Overall a mixed experience. Drinks were good. One of the appetizers was missing avocado, a key advertised ingredient. The meal was delivered halfway through the salads, way too early. The prime rib was lukewarm and bland. They apologized and corrected the appetizer and the prime rib dishes with replacements, but overall not at the level we expected for a top restaurant. Needs more attention to detail and timing.

The reason for knocking a star off was the delay with our main course...after our salad, we waited around 20 mins. Our waitress came out (I thought she was bring our food...) and told us they were out of Calimari and my wife had to order something different. Her fish and my lamb were good, a bit overcooked - I figure they tried to cook them too quickly. We will likely go back though, nice menu and want to give them another shot!

Maybe an unfair review to a standard night, but there was a large party (3/4 of the dining room) that made it very difficult to hear, bar was backed up...drinks didn't come until after we finished appetizers. Wait staff was slow (although the party was a buffet, so I don't think they were distracted by that). Took 15 mins to be seated (we had a reservation, table was available but not set...had to wait for them to find glasses and silverware, another 10 minutes seated before waitress came over). Food was very unconventional....sweet red peppers in pad Thai? Pork shank special was tasty. Had we been informed there was a large party taking over most of the restaurant we would have tried a different night.

It was OK. The food wasn't great, I thought, more quantity over quality. Waitstaff tend to walk right in front of you if you're on the way to the bathroom or something, nearly cutting you off, without a word. They asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside, so we said inside, and they gave us a cramped little table next to a door to outside that they later kept open and people walked back and forth right behind me, this is despite making a reservation several days before. Tends to get loud if you're next to a group. Drinks were interesting on paper but not very inspired when they came (neither quality nor quantity!) They gave us boxes with our leftovers but never produced a bag, so the dishes were soaking through by the time we got them to the car. Maybe it was just an off night, but our experience was decidedly so-so.

Disappointing. Wife ordered the scotch egg, pork sausage was raw. Crab cake was ok. Cheeseburger was excellent. Buck a shuck night for oysters, were very good. Another waiter came over to our table, the bartender was waiting on us, offered us some bread. Never showed up at the table. Gigi was great, very apologetic. We'll give them another chance, just because of Bartender Gigi.

So…. We made a Rez on the website 3 days prior and even put in the notes about having Allergies to certain foods and a birthday. They didn’t have the reservation when we arrived but luckily they were able to set us. The “Hostess” possibly the owner was not very warm or welcoming. Seemed uncomfortable and just a strange first impression. The server was great even wearing a walking boot. The menu has no descriptions so the server unfortunately has to explain everything which makes table time long. The wine,beer and cocktail menu had no prices. Ok… the food was ok. The cauliflower appetizer was good but super small portion. The whole fish was good but the skin wasn’t crispy. And the $40 strip steak that we ordered med-rare was med-well and was more like a sirloin cut than a ny. All the food was seasoned well but still missed the mark. When we left, walking past the same unfriendly “host” “owner” not one thank you or goodbye was said. No need to return. Good luck mendon 64

They add on a fee for debit card transactions plus they want a tip. Food is mediocre at best. The cook served the food and looks unkempt. Never again for me.

I had out-of-town family visiting on Saturday, June 10. We were outside listening to the band, Rugburn. We came inside to get drinks. I gave my order to a female bartender with long black hair, and she proceeded to walk away and never fill my drink order. I had to flag down a different bartender and repeat my four drink orders. How absolutely rude of the first bartender. Why would any employee treat your guests this way??

Worst sevice ever. Waiter was arrogant. Ordered something gluten free. Never came back to confirm our order was actually gluten free. Did not get the table we reserved and was put in the corner limited menu and ran out of our drink.

WARNING: Do not eat here if you have food allergies!! Had to walk out without eating. We have Celiac and the server and host kept repeatedly asking me what we could eat. We told them several times we can't eat gluten and to please ask the chef and not guess about the ingredients because we will get sick. Finally the server returned for a 3rd time and asked if we could eat cornstarch because the bottle of sauce they put on the fish contains cornstarch (unrelated we thought this was a farm to table restaurant and the menu states home made dressing and sauce so questioning why they are using anything out of a bottle, and the server said "cook" rather than chef, which made us question if there was even a chef working that evening as true chefs know how to handle allergies without having to ask). We said we're leaving as don't feel safe eating here and wasn't worth the risk of being extremely sick for a week. The staff were not educated on food allergies at all and were passive aggressive. It wasn't about disrespect as it's difficult working in this industry these days but being stunned about lack of knowledge that we ended up leaving. We never have issues with any true chef and reputable restaurants understanding basic food allergy requirements and welcome the owner contacting us directly, although doubt that will happen, which is okay. This incident also reminds me of a computer science class back at a university in Palo Alto, CA long ago where someone asked why we spend so much time understanding the needs of the handicapped as they make up a small fraction of the general public. Celiac disease affects a small percentage of the population, so why bother educating ourselves? In the exact words of the professor, the answer is easy, as paying attention to the needs of a few is critical "because it benefits everyone and is the right thing to do". We will not be coming back to this restaurant and ended up having dinner at an Italian restaurant that night that understood and "got it" and ended up saving the evening. Although we believe this restaurant doesn't deserve your business we will not use our influence in our circles to cause unnecessary hardship, always hopeful for a better future outcome for others and wishing the very best to the owners who likely were just trying to do the best they likely could. The atmosphere is welcoming and has potential.

the girl who claimed she was the owner was very slow and extremely rude. our party continually waited for drinks while she talked. i waited over 20 minutes for mine. towards the end of the night she picked up the cocktail menu crumpled it in front of us and said “no more cocktails!” and then proceeded not to make the drinks and left the bar. first time there and will never return

The bartender who is also apparently the owner or bar manager was extremely rude. She grabbed the specialty drink menu out of my hand and crumpled it in my face. She was direspectful to every single person in our party simply because it was busy. Every time anyone asked for anything it was met with an eye roll. Waited 20 minutes everytime we ordered and half the time she forgot what our order was. Do not recommend this business if you have a larger party or if you want to order more than one specialty cocktail or if you want to have a good experience whatsoever

we had a party here and the service was horrible, we paid so much for party that didn’t have enough food, or seating to hold family. we noted a severe food allergy to seafood, we never ordered any and they brought out a seafood dish. not to mention that half of the food that we did order didn’t end up coming. we had to request more seating and table space because the space “reserved” for us was far too small. probably not a bad place to go out to eat with a smaller group but parties seem to be held often here and ours didn’t go the way we had planned at all.
