A sufficient $9 sandwich and pandan jello cup. There’s a ton of bahn mi spots in this area actually

This place is absolutely worth the hype- honestly the best banh mi I've had. I went for the #1 special, ~$9 and it was enough for two meals for me. The housemade bread truly makes a difference; so fluffy inside with the perfect crunch outside. It doesn't rip open the top of your mouth the way other dry baguettes do. The meat is so generously portioned here, tons of pate too! There was a long line queued up already at 10:30am, but they move so quickly that I only waited a few minutes.

I have been going here for months now. I was missing the Banh Mi from Saigon and this little place popped up in my Google search. They make their Banh Mi with freshly baked bread and homemade cold cuts. All the sandwiches are super flavorful - bread is crunchy in the outside and fluffy in the inside - pickled veggies nice and sour tart. They are 99% cas close to the ones I had in Saigon and Hoi An. Bring cash - they don’t take credit cards. If you want an extra little treat their Vietnamese coffee is intense!

Finally found a legit banh mi spot that has that Vietnamese flavor I crave! They also stuff the sandwiches with a lot of meat and perfect balance of the crispy bread, pate, meat and veggies. I can't wait to go back! Before this place, I've had better banh mi even in Boston and had such a hard time in NYC finding the right spot. The other places in the city are diluted and add way too much carrots and daikon and lack that umami flavor. I found this place from Tiktok and my hubby went to get it for me, now I'll always have a go to spot, can't wait to go back!

I haven't had Vietnamese bread for about five or six years. So i decided to get one today and I tried the traditional Co Ut banh mi sandwich(#3) it doesn't have the same taste as before. Maybe it would be better to choose the beef or bbq pork option.

The owner here is very nice and their bánh mì is amazing. The bánh mì tasted delicious, a bit more on the fatty side due to their homemade mayonnaise. The pickles were the highlights. The pandan rice cake was made well, with proper ridges.

We went to try Co Ut banh mi today because we have been hearing alot about it. The service is very sweet and friendly, the place looks very clean. They have an A rating, so thats always good!!! Sandwich and ice coffee was delicious!!!!!! 10/10 recommend🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

The banh mi here is phenomenal - just like the one's I've had in my parents' town back in Vietnam. Crunchy, light, soft, flakey! You really can't go wrong with a #1 and cup of nuoc mia (sugar cane). Proud to finally have authentic Vietnamese food here in the big apple after all these years. Highly recommend asking for the pickled daikon / carrots on the side so you can toast your sandwich fresh at home if you're buying a lot! This location is mostly grab and go- no frills, no seats - but the atmosphere is very nostalgic to me as they play some of the greatest hits from Paris By Night in the background (if you know you know!)

Bánh Mì Cô Út brings real Saigon street flavors to New York. The baguette is perfectly crisp outside and airy inside, packed with layers of savory pâté, cold cuts, and fresh pickled veggies.

Just got back from Vietnam and it’s been disappointing looking for all the amazing tastes locally. Got the #1 and first bite was POW, I’m back in Hanoi having my first Bahn mi. The flavor is really complex and subtle. Pate was great consistency and the glue to pair all the different meats and flavors together. But the star of the show was the bread. It didn’t bunch up and become cardboard after a few bites. It stayed flaky, light and airy throughout. Definitely fresh bread just like in Vietnam. Was leaving and I saw they had a special with sticky rice, pate and other meats and thought I tried. It is soooo good. The preserved vegetables in the meat is like a drug. So delicious. No indoor seating or restroom, cash only no frill joint. Those are my favorite. Service was friendly and to the point. Place was clean and spotless. Definitely going and heard they have a sister restaurant which is next on my list.

Cash only place. Hands down top 3 banh mi in manhattan. The bread is freshly made, so flaky! I got the No.1 sandwich, it was so simple, delicious, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Everyone works there is super nice and friendly. Please be patient with them when they prep the food cuz it’s worth it!

Delicious. Fresh. Made to order sandwiches. The bread is devine. Each sandwich tastes different. The coffee has a nice nutty rich roast with the perfect cream. The kindest staff too. I ordered #1 & #8

Best banh min in the city hands down! The bread is super fresh and you can tell, high quality meats too. You can tell when you eat it. Get the special for sure

Hole in the wall with helpful and industrious atmosphere. People at the counter were focused and super nice. Sandwich was fantastic. Noticed they also have the rice roll ravioli with woodear mushroom --- one of my faves but not easy to find. Definitely trying that next! No bathroom, no inside seating but they do have a wooden bench outside the door. Has some coverage so good spot if the weather isn't good to take sandwich to the park but won't work if it's pouring.

Every time I have visited, I would go for the #8 and its a quick bite for me and has been the most consistent banh mi option. Bread was crispy and the filling was savory.

4.2/5 #8 BBQ Pork Banh Mi -- housemade bread is very crisp with a light crumb, generously filled with pork and carrot/daikon/cucumber, finished with some mayo! We visited on a weekend afternoon, there was a line about ~5 ahead of us, and the service is on the slower side but each sandwhich is made to order! There is no seating, but plenty of benches at Columbus Park nearby to enjoy your sandwich!

The regular (number 1) Bánh Mi Sandwich is good. The bread is flaky, the fillings are fresh and in good proportion. For $8-$9 you get a decent sized sandwich. Bring cash the shop is cash only and can get busy.

Bánh Mì Cô Út is a great spot for authentic Vietnamese sandwiches. The bread is fresh and crispy, and the fillings are flavorful—perfectly balanced with fresh herbs and toppings. I especially like their classic banh mi and the variety of condiments you can add. Friendly service and a cozy vibe make it a nice place to grab a quick, delicious bite. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for authentic bánh mì!

hole in the wall spot. A very friendly service. I ordered the traditional # 3. It didn’t disappoint. The taste of the butter and pate was on point. the sandwich was fantastic. I wish the bread wasn’t this hard. bang for your buck. It’s a cash only joint so make sure to carry cash. this is a take out spot only.

Good but my #1 sandwich lacked A LOT of filling compared to what i see online

Number 4 American cold cut is a lot better than number 1. Number 1 just has too many fatty elements and takes away from a simple banh mi taste. Meat is kinda thin, would recommend them adding slightly more

delicious sugarcane juice! however, after explicitly ordering the chicken bahn mi, the cashier INSISTED i try the crispy pork bahn mi even though i kept saying i don’t eat pork and there cannot be pork in the sandwich (i’m muslim). the cashier reassured me there wouldn’t be any pork and would replace it with chicken. i then finally said: please make sure there’s no pork. and lo and behold. there was pork!

got the #9 banh mi nem nuong and it lacked flavor, but the bread itself was good. i liked that it was thin and airy. you need to ask for peppers when you order, they don't do it automatically (they should've asked us though) cash only, no zelle/venmo etc i might come back to try other ones just because i like the bread service could be friendlier

People are nice and warm. But everything is pricy and portion is small. The main reason I think is that NYC doesn’t have supplier of Vietnamese ingredients and they have to make everything in the store. That adds up cost. If you go to LA and San Jose, you get bigger banh mi (30% bigger) and 30% less in price. Taste is ok not great, filling is less and it misses a kick. Vietnamese yogurt is too pricy. In CA, you get twice as much yoghurt for the same price. They need to find ways to cut price.

Came here to try the Banh Mi for the first time because I thought the prices were considerably cheap. The prices they have in their online menu didn’t match the new current prices. I originally thought the Banh Mi’s were going to range from $6.75 - $8 but in their in person menu, they’re $7.50 - $9. Maybe I should’ve checked the reviews more carefully before coming here. I didn’t really mind since that’s the average price for a Banh Mi. I ordered #2, the Banh Mi with shredded chicken. What was really disappointing was that the bread was really hard and didn’t taste fresh.. the chicken flavor was also off. It tasted sour, I’m not sure if that’s how marinated shredded chicken is supposed to taste in a Banh Mi because I’ve had chicken Banh Mi from other places and they tasted way better than this. The size was alright, but there’s barely any pickled vegetables and the meat portion wasn’t much either. Hence, it wasn’t filling. I’ve had better Banh Mi elsewhere. Maybe the other Banh Mi’s taste better but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I got the #1 after seeing so many recs popping up on my feed. I was a bit sus as to why I’ve never heard of this place despite to being a local. After eating the sandwich I think I understood why. The bread wasn’t crispy at all, overall it just tasted like lunch meat, it was giving white people’s food (no offense). Tiktok just hypes up so many mediocre places. I will be sticking to my old banh mi place.

Back in November, I thought your special baguette was alright. Two days ago, I bought 3 baguettes and it was completely different, taste really weird? When I looked inside filling. I was shocked to see that you had added more really fat fat and funny meats and some kind of red meats (not suppose in the vietnamese baguette???) The taste was completely different and it was awful. I bought 3 baguette for friends but ended up in waste bin. It was waste of money, but we really can't eat it anymore...VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED .Even now, Just thinking about it makes us to vomit. AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE BAGUETTES ARE VERY DELICIOUS.
