Current review: Still excellent pizza, both the Detroit style and the thin crust (you can see in prior photo compared to current that the amount/placement of pepperoni has really changed/decreased though). Still free parking in lot across the street or on side street or I think in a garage behind the restaurant. This time the service was much better - attentive and friendly and efficient. It was our server’s last day though - big loss for them because he was so natural and personable. One year ago: We had eaten at a different location several years ago, and this one has amazing pizza just like the other one. The staff was friendly but maybe not as attentive as they could have been considering it was pretty empty and they were just hanging around chatting with each other - once our pizza came, nobody came to see if we needed anything so we had to get up and go find our server for what we needed. Bathrooms were clean. Free parking lot across the street.
The service at the bar was exceptional and the food was great. Sarah was attentive and she made sure all our needs were met. I’m gluten free and felt very confident in what I ordered due to her ensuring it was gluten free before the food left the kitchen! She gets 10/5 ⭐️ from me!!!
Pizza was amazing but our server olive was soo great. She gave us free cinnamon bread because it was our first time and was so nice and helpful. Give her a raise pleaseeee
Excellent Detroit style pan pizza. This is not Chicago style, Detroit style, has a breadier crust and a little bit less sauce and cheese. The best part are the edges which get very crispy when they come out of the oven, I wish there was a shape that they could make that had more edges to it. This is directly across the street from Wheatville and has street parking and a parking lot immediately to the north.
Some of the best pizza I’ve tried around here. Tasted amazing, cooked perfectly, fair price, generous amount of toppings, and delicious specialty house pizza flavors. Clean and comfortable environment, can get busy and noisy during weekends, but still manageable and wait times aren’t too bad. Great customer service and very friendly staff. Overall, 10/10 highly recommend!
We love this pizza🍕! We tried the 8 piece Veggie pizza and it rocked! The pizza is Detroit style with a thick light crust. I highly recommend their pizza.
God I love this place. Ate here last night for my birthday, everything was cooked to perfection. They forgot the cheese stick appetizer and they felt so bad they still cooked it and brought it out free. Then gave cinnamon sticks as dessert also free. They clearly go above and beyond for their customers and that’s why they’re still the best pizza in Austin. Thanks guys!
Any Detroiter knows Buddy’s pizza.. this place holds up to the standard of excellence! Reminded me so much of home. So glad our pizza was brought to Texas. LOVED IT! ❤️
Went in to order pizza to go somewhere that had vegan options & was pleasantly surprised at the pizza. My son's meaty pie was almost completely devoured immediately & he loved everything about it, something he rarely does as a picky eater. My veggie pie with vegan cheese was generously covered with veggies & cheese & the sauce was delicious. The atmosphere when we went in on a Tuesday night was chill & quiet & the guy that took our order was friendly & helpful. Next time we're in Austin, we'll definitely be back!
If you’re allergic to gluten, as I am, and want food that tastes good…like actual bread, then RUN, don’t walk, to Via313. I have never eaten gluten free anything and had to wonder if a mistake had been made. This is hands down, the BEST pizza dough EVER! And I took a lot home and put it in the air fryer three days later and it was still PERFECTION! There’s a reason it was voted one of the best gluten free pizza dough in the US because it is!! Our server Emma was also a delight! So helpful for me because I have so many food allergies and she was knowledgeable and helped me choose two different pizzas which were both incredible! My friend also commented that this is now his favorite pizza. I look forward to eating here forever and ever.
Easily the BEST gluten pizza I have ever eaten! I have celiac disease and felt completely safe after speaking to our server. Atticus N. was very attentive and a pleasure to talk to. Super friendly atmosphere:) Manager came over to check on us as well and shared information about the history of the restaurant and other locations. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
Got the monthly special, chicken fajita! The service was great and loved the atmosphere. They let me have a coloring kit lol 😼 The food was so yummy and I devoured it as soon as possible (be wary of burning your mouth from impatience). Don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!
Excellent pizza, great service, and relaxing atmosphere. Ordered the herbivore pizza with ice tea. Crust on the pizza was perfect and the toppings were amazing. Waiter was helpful and attentive. For ending the meal on a sweet note got the dessert pizza. Inside the place was nicely decorated, relaxing, big screen TVs, and cool air conditioning. Great place to enjoy super good pizza. 👍
Absolutely fantastic pizza. I'm not a huge fan of Detroit style, but this is something special. It's super crispy and perfectly seasoned. The service is also fantastic. Our server, I forgot her name, was incredibly friendly and we never had to wait for anything. I'm really looking forward to going back.
This is the best place to grab a slice of pizza. Four slices is perfect for 2 ppl and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The drinks are good even tho they quit selling my favorite blood orange drink. I live 25 minutes away and drive here instead of the RR location which is 👎🏽🤷🏽♂️
Super yummy pizza, we were searching for a nice pizza place from few days and this place was worth a try. While waiting for our order, they gave us complimentary cheese bread ( forgot the actual name).. The beer was nice, the interior was cool, will definitely go again if I have time before going back.
(Nov 2023) got pizzas to go and delicious per usual. Enjoyed the herbivore with a side of ranch. Some got the bar style pizza too which also looked excellent. (July 2022) The pizza was as good as I remembered the first time I had it back in 2017(?)… so good!! the edges are crispy and delicious, fantastic detroit style pizza. Amazing
One of my favorite pizza spots. Love their Detroit style pizzas. My favorite is the ambassador. I enjoy the creaminess of ricotta, the garlic they add on top and the crispy cupped pepperoni. Their dough had a great rise and chew, had a crispy bottom and a nice crispy cheesy edge. The marinara they put on top is fresh tasting and not too acidic. We sat outside on the patio because we had our dogs with us. Christian was our server and he took great care of us. He brought water out for the pups and was very attentive. Great service and great food. Regularly take out of town guests who have never tried Detroit style pizzas.
Cheese bread is crispy but the cheese is off putting in this dish. Caesar is perfect. Pizza is perfect amount of crispness to cheese and chewy dough. I appreciated how much cheese was on there. Typically Brooklyn pizzas aren’t heavy on the cheese but this one has enough to pull with each bite. The meat toppings are higher quality than most places. The pizza is made fresh for each order so it takes about 25-30 minutes to bake, but it is well worth the wait
Absolutely loved this authentic Detroit style pizza. Have a great vibe. Fantastic takeout experience where you can wait in your car in the parking lot in the front until you get the text message about your order being ready. They had adapted pretty well to the pandemic times. The crust was juicy and crispy at the same time. I was recommended by a friend and boy it didn’t disappoint. They are doing in person dining as well with the patio open but I loved the takeaway. Good covid precautions followed.

Walked in with my service dog, looking for an American owned spot. Asked if we could join without his badge. Staff was immediately kind, no questions, said we were welcome inside. Super welcoming. Realized afterward I had my digital copy on my phone but didn’t need it. Sat outside anyway for others’ comfort. They brought my dog a real water bowl right away, no hassle. After ridicule at other places, their kindness made me feel normal and respected. Highlight of the visit. I ordered the Detroiter and the pizza was solid, but $17 for personal size is overpriced. With that being said, it’s also the best pizza I’ve personally tried in the central Austin area. Not to say that validates the price point, but it is to be noted. Refill took a little long. As a first timer, I wasn’t sure if I needed to get it myself, but right as I was about to stand up and check, the server came out and asked if I wanted one, which should’ve been obvious. In my cheese pull video, you can clearly see my glass was already empty when the pizza was served. I walked away happy overall. Prefer this mostly solid American owned spot over something foreign. Worth a visit.
The pizza was rated by Barstool so I definitely wanted to try it while I was in town. No parking in this area but that's to be expected. Nice casual outdoor seating area but we sat inside. Very spacious inside and definitely has that pizza joint vibe. Best artichoke dip I have had in a while!!! It's a must! And the deep dish we split half Omni and half Hot Honey. I don't know if that was the name but man o man!!!!! Best deep dish pizza I have ever had. The crust was soo cheesy and the dough was extremely light and fluffy! Been here several times before. Pizza is always good. And the service was great. There is good seating with adequate spacing inside and also some outside seating to choose from.
