If you’re looking for a place that serves truly unforgettable food, this is it! Their chow mein is absolutely incredible—it’s always my go-to and it never disappoints. The noodles are perfectly cooked, the vegetables are crisp and fresh, and the flavor is so rich and satisfying. Every bite feels comforting yet full of life. Honestly, it’s one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere, and I keep coming back just for it. But what really makes this place special is not just the food, it’s the people. The staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They make you feel at home the moment you walk in and genuinely care about giving you a great experience. That combination of delicious food and warm service is hard to beat. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. If you haven’t tried their chow mein—or any of their dishes—you owe it to yourself to stop by. You won’t regret it!!
My husband and I both agree this is one of the best Nepali meal we’ve ever had! We will definitely be driving from Marin to visit this place again! Excellent service too!
The service was amazing! It felt so homey and the food came out so fast. The kadai chicken and momos are to die for!!!
It has been months since I visited Nepal and I figured I'd try this Nepalese/Indian restaurant in the bay area. Chai is amazing..some of the best in the bay. Momo and papdi chaat is amazing as well. If the food I ate in Nepal is 10/10, this one in the bay area is a very good 8.5/10. Overall amazing and I will definitely come back.
Located in the heart of Berkeley and close to the campus, it serves scrumptious Nepalese cuisine at reasonable price. Service was good and their interior is also unique.
Mount Everest restaurant in Berkeley is my go to place with my family and friends. I usually get their butter chicken and garlic naan which is really creamy and good but this time I tried their lamb momo and biryani, each momo was soo juicy, tender, and packed with flavors. As a Nepali I totally recommend their lamb momo and their food. Also, I will definitely be back in the future.
We came in during lunch where there’s a $10 deal. The atmosphere is very warm and the waitress Asmita was super nice and informative, even giving us extra sugar for the dahi. Would definitely recommend again!
The nicest servers. Delicious food in good quantities. The naan is the best I’ve ever had!
Great food which wide range diverse menu, awesome lunch options. Atmosphere: laid back with ample ceiling which ensured the place is flooded with light. Beautiful map as well of the Himalayas. Toilet was also clean. Momos: the pastry slightly on the thicker side, but the filling was great. Lunch special's portion was generous. Service: friendly and they were attentive to my dietary restrictions, subbing everything to ensure that there was no dairy. Would definitely come again.
Fantastic and authentic Nepalese cuisine. The seasoning is out of this world! Very friendly service. Highly recommend!
Delicious and good portions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, not too dark. The garlic naan is great as well.
So many varieties of food, hospitable staffs and good location. I just wish the flavour of everything wasn't same, like the fish curry and aalu matar had same taste of the gravy. Also addition of yomari would be great!

Hands down the best MOMO in the Bay!! The staff are amazing and the food is even better.
Tonight was truly special. Mount Everest Restaurant delivered not just an incredible meal, but a memorable experience filled with warmth, flavor, and authenticity. A huge shout-out to Arvin — the Head Chef and Owner — who personally created a delicious dinner for us this evening. Every dish was perfectly balanced, rich in flavor, and clearly made with passion and pride. You can taste the love, tradition, and mastery in every bite. From the beautifully presented plates to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, everything was exceptional. The spices were spot-on, the food was fresh and comforting, and the service made us feel like family rather than just guests. If you’re looking for authentic Himalayan / Indian cuisine in Berkeley, this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or celebrating a special moment, Mount Everest Restaurant will not disappoint. So proud of what Arvin has built here — and so grateful for an amazing evening and an outstanding meal. Highly, highly recommended! 🙏🍽️✨
I had an amazing experience at Mount Everest restaurant! jhol momo was absolutely delicious juicy, flavorful, and perfectly steamed. Paneer Tikka and makhmali naan was another highlight, soft with just the right amount of spice and incredible aroma. The food tasted fresh, authentic, and made with care. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made the meal even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!
Love this spot! I get takeout from them all the time living nearby. I have a sensitive stomach (but still love cream based sauces ^_^) but have never had a stomachache from their food unlike other spots.
Wonderful food and service! Hidden jewel in Berkeley with lots of great vegetarian dishes.

Beautiful restaurant, loved the atmosphere. Amazing food and lovely service, we came for bite of Berkeley and our students absolutely loved it. Especially the Nann bread, it was so good!!
My orientation group ate here for Cal freshman orientation. Very filling and the staff was nice :)
Good food at good prices. Some authentic Nepali items were on the menu. Sekuwa were the best. Momos were made in the restaurant and were very tasty, especially liked the sauce that it came with. We arrived late near closing but the owner was kind enough to let us sit and eat way past the closing time. Would recommend to check it out.

I came for lunch. The ambiance was cozy-- large windows, soft music, beautiful strands of pothos plants hanging from balcony. The staff was friendly, if not particularly engaging. - Chai was prrrrretty bland-- effectively warm, brown milk. I'm not entirely sure, because I wasn't interested in more, but the refills don't seem to be free here. It was cheap though: $1.75. - Samosas were large but bland as well. Not very crispy. The mint chutney was tangy and relatively thick; the brown chutney was sweet with no other flavor-- but not bad. - The butter chicken's creaminess was on point and the chicken was perfectly tender; I asked for it spicy, but did not receive it spicy at all, and, if you like heavy use of herbs or spices to bulk up the flavor, it might not be the butter chicken for you. The portion size wasn't bad. Overall, not a bad meal, but, if you prefer desi food that smacks you in the mouth with potent flavor, I wouldn't recommend what I ordered.

I've had much better Indian food at other restaurants for easily $10-15 less. The naan paneer didn't have much paneer on it and the matar in the aloo matar was pretty bland. I've eaten at a different Indian restaurant every week for a few weeks and this one by far is my least favorite.
