I have gotten the mixed grill and the moussaka; both were excellent! The mixed grill was cooked to perfection. The moussaka was decadent! The food portions are great!
Excellent and authentic Greek/Cypriot cuisine. All our dishes were amazing. We got the royal dorada fish as a main that was perfection! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. As a Greek visiting NYC, this seemed like the best, classy and authentic Greek restaurant in Astoria. The only thing is there a 4% fee for using a credit card that was not mentioned anywhere.
The staff were extremely friendly and professional. The food was spectacular.. Try the Shrimp Santorini for a starter was cooked perfectly and extremely flavorful. My wife and son raved about the chicken kebab. I had the pork chop which was fantastic. Service was excellent . The restaurant was full and yet the wait for the food wasn't bad at all. Atmosphere is also nice .. warm cozy and inviting.. A definite must try.
Absolutely love this place. I had my birthday dinner with my girls here a few weeks ago and my experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff and owners are SO kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is pretty and cozy, and the food is delicious, with the menu having a variety of options. The night before I had gone to a big name restaurant with another set of friends, and it doesn’t even compare to Aliada, from the food to the hospitality. We didn’t feel rushed and we genuinely had a great, enjoyable, relaxed time. Can’t wait to come back!
Aliada is a FANTASTIC & AUTHENTIC Greek restaurant in ASTORIA! We had such an amazing dinner here tonight. We shared the saganaki and horiataki for appetizers and both were very good. The dinners were even better. We had the swordfish, moussaka, and soutzoukakia for our dinners. The swordfish was OUTSTANDING! It was a fresh, generous perfectly chargrilled. The next best dish was the soutzoykakia which was absolutely DELICIOUS! The moussaka was also delicious but my personal favorite was the swordfish! We had the fries for our side that were out of this world! We could not stop eating them! They were nice and thin and had a great seasoning. We were disappointed that they had only one dessert which was baklava, but it was the best baklava we ever had! It tasted fresh out the oven, and had a perfect amount of honey I highly recommend Aliada in Astoria!
It's been so long since I had a meal in a restaurant that really blew me away, where every dish was delicious. This was it. Some of the best octopus I've had. Perfectly tender and beautiful delicate flavors to complement the fresh flavor. The dish with pasta, beschamel, and meat is similar to an Egyptian dish I love. This was the lightest version I've ever tasted! I could eat a trough of it. My family and I walked in a late, and everyone was so hospitable and lovely towards us. The space is beautiful in a way that's simple and welcoming. It's clever, and it makes you feel happier to be there. One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. I wish I lived closer to go more often. On top of everything, the prices are so reasonable that you can have a feast without bankrupting yourself. There are no photos because we were enjoying ourselves too much to even think of pulling a phone out.
Loved the food! I came here with a reservation and somehow it was not as busy as other days, not my first time coming here, but theres a reason why! This place is very cozy ,a but small, but pretty good for a Mediterranean experience,I had the greek platter as an appetizer and it was delicious, also the chicken! Staff were always welcoming and friendly, hostess that night was also very patient and nice, since I was actually late for our reservation, coming back soon!
Aliada is hands down the best Greek restaurant in Astoria. The ingredients are always fresh, the dishes are generous in size, and the flavors are authentic and delicious. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. It’s the perfect spot whether you’re in the mood for a casual meal or bringing friends for a night out. Consistently excellent — definitely a must-try in Astoria..
Absolutely incredible experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was just perfect. I took my fiancé here for her birthday dinner and she loved every minute of it. The portions are great. You must try their octopus, definitely my favorite item on the menu. Some pinot grigio with the swordfish and, grilled calamari...I'm just at a loss for words. Looking forward to coming back here! Top 3 best restaurants in NYC and I'll die on that hill.
I decided to give 5⭐️ considering everything. Good food (4ish), great vibes, and nice staff. Luckily, food my friend and I ordered were all delicious than our expectations. In addition, huge portions. 🐟✨The whole fish was slightly pricy but worth a try. The day we went was also the day they just got the fish freshly, which made more sense to order. The smoke and grill smell nailed it with simple seasoning. 🍆✨❤️🔥The layered baby eggplant was a heavy one. But the taste was rich with juicy grounded meat inside. The cheese on the top also added additional flavors. Salad was pretty classic, but the add-on portion (we had gyro meat) was a lot! It was a little bit salty but still good. Complimentary pita and hummus was the only thing I have comments. It was kinda bland with the pure chickpea flavor, so did pita bread with flour taste.
Aliada has been cranking out delicious food for years. I love the baked lamb with lemon potatoes because the lamb is just perfectly cooked and the potatoes add some starch and acid to the dish that are great. It's also just a nice meal that makes you think of home. Gyro, gyro platter or anything you can put next to the delicious meat will work. The speads up front are great or the shrimp. The Greek sausage is something to try but if you aren't feeling adventurous just stay with the main dishes. There's a full bar and some great Greek wine that you can pair with any dish. Do not pass on this place when you are in Astoria Queens. It's some of the best food around for sure! ***** ( 🔥 🔥 🔥 ) *****
The outside patio is great on a nice weather day. A lovely atmosphere with fairly good vegetation options Greek spot. We stopped for a quick lunch and had the mushroom dish, which was quite delicious. The baked feta was super flavorful. The pita and hummus were also very good. The pita was soft and spongy. We might come back and try their dinner menu.
I’ve been wanting to dine here, and finally got the chance to go for dinner. They start with complimentary pita bread and chick pea dip, which was a light way to start. We got the Greek salad to start. The stuffed grape leaves were great, the acidity balanced great with the feta cheese and olives. For dinner, we weren’t too hungry and decided to split the Octopus Salad and P.E.I Mussels. For appetizers, they were a good size and filling. The muscles and octopus were very fresh, and the sauce the muscles were cooked in was also very light and had a pleasant wine flavor. I probably wouldn’t order the octopus again since it’s more of an octopus salad. That said, the octopus was tender and cooked well overall. I would like to come back and try more of their dishes. All the food was very light, fresh, and cooked well. My fiance is celiac and he was able to eat everything we tried but the pita bread (which is unfortunate because it was so good with the dip!)
Amazing cypress food with great outdoor seating. Will definitely be returning. Took my parents and wife and shared everything family style. We loved the complementary humus and pita. I had a great orange organic wine. The Quail, Bronzino, Grilled octopus and grilled squid were all great. My favorite was the Greek salad, lemon potatoes and the Lima beans. Everything from service, food and ambience were top notch. Coffee I wasn’t crazy about was a little light for me but the pastitsio was a great sharing size for 4. Honestly a really good meal that was a great experience for families and dates alike.
I’ve been coming here since they first opened probably. Love this place but don’t love the new credit card fees?! That makes zero sense and you asked me to tip on top of it?! The tip should be before and the credit card fee should be the same and not vary according to the bill. That’s a big NO NO for me. Lost one star and if you cannot explain this, you might have lost a loyal customer
