The food was really great, wish I'd taken a photo but I got a chicken kebab entree with the rice and it was delicious! It's a really cute place especially the backyard. Good place to hang out with friends and catch up because they don't rush you to leave, the staff make you feel very welcome. It's also a good place if you just want to come and smoke hookah by yourself and relax as well.
I'm a regular here, and after being closed for updates, the renovation was absolutely worth the wait! The place looks brand new and stunning—everything from the decor to the vibe feels elevated. The hookah is always smooth, the food is delicious, and the service is consistently great. Definitely my favorite lounge! We are a family here!!
Layaly Cafe is the best restaurant for private events. We celebrated my daughter’s baby shower there. The staff were amazing! they went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us. The food was beyond delicious. It was truly a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
Such a pleasant place to enjoy hookah, some of the best hummus I've had in a long time. Service was quick, staff was accommodating and nice. Heads up there's no alcohol offered here. However there's board and card games. Oh and best of all they don't rush you out!
Been here a few times while visiting the city, Gotta say their hookah is pretty good, food is good for a hookah lounge. It’s a bit loud but not enough to where you can’t have a conversation. Small place, has a lot of character, street parking.
Great hole in the wall place. The service is great and friendly. I really enjoy their food - the köfte is great. Shisha is also very good. I highly recommend this place as oppose to the other places on Steinway. This is my go to spot!

This place is loved. The vibes are laid back and the staff cares about their customers. They seem like family. I enjoy the food here too. I've never had anything bad.
It is amazing place to come and hang out with friends. Amazing food, and has variety of food from burgers to liver sandwiches to koshary to Mac and cheese to tacos and nachos. The variety truly makes this place one stop shop. Not to mention the amazing hookah they have. Honestly I love this place!
We had an off-menu Egyptian Eid lunch!! SUCH delicious Fattah and a ton of appetizers. Great service and awesome spot. Highly recommend!
Layaly Cafe is my favorite hookah restaurant in all of New York City. I travel all the way from Manhattan to frequent this customer friendly restaurant. The hospitality is top notch. The food is authentic and tasty, including Egyptian dishes that can easily hail from Cairo to shrimp tacos to truffle fries. The hookah is of excellent quality and lasts long. If that is not enough, the staff and ambiance exceeds the already superb food and hookah. I love this place — whether indoor or outdoor seating. Catching any sports game on the numerous televisions is also a hit! Layaly Cafe comes highly recommended and I am a fan! A satisfied customer who could not gate-keep, but rather had to share because Layaly so deserves its flowers.
I've been coming here since early 2000s.. The hospitality and the love from the workers r really the most heartwarming. The owner always comes and says hello to me and my friends. Hookah is spot on delicious with fruit heads... food is very well prepared.. lots of juice drinks options. A very cozy atmosphere and sitting arrangement. Tips r included in the total bill and no alcohol is served here. Hope to come here many more years♥️♥️🥰🥰🌬🌬🔥🔥

A fun hookah lounge with very tasty food. This place has so many different hookah flavors! We got the mint which was really good, as we didn’t want something too sweet. Will definitely be back!
The things I like the most in this place are: the service ( the guys are great), Kebab, waffle and the ambient. I like the hookah, i do ask it sometimes, but isn't the main reason I go there. I do recommend, visit it a few times per month when I want something different to do, by myself or with companies.
Awesome staff, great service, and the ambience is amazing. Definitely a good spot for dinner and to watch sports. The Moroccan tea is superb.
Place is average but shisha is quite good.
I have been there many times and overall, the food and hookah experience were great. Yet, there are two things to mention: 1) they automatically charge 20% tip which is not fair for the customer and I feel like it decreases the service quality. 2) the music played inside is just terrible. I understand that they try to represent their own culture, but sorry to say, it does not sound nice. Also, it is quite loud and makes having a decent conversation quite hard.
