Avis sur Lost Coast Brewery & Café Eureka
Food was decent but the staff were pretty killer, our waitress was fun and personable and went out of her way when the kitchen overlooked part of our order (honest mistake, no harm no foul). Really cool that they have a few arcade cabinets. We played some pinball and had a lot of fun. The boy's bathroom had a chalkboard above the urinals. I think that the chalk board is a great ideas and more places should do it.
The food isn't super cheap, but its definitely worth it and then some of what you pay for. Its an old town restaurant, so the layout is kind of wonky and its easy to get in the way of someone. However, the staff is super friendly and they are extremely good at making sure they do not run into someone, or block walking paths. Staff is also very friendly, and like I said the food isn't super cheap but it's not crazy expensive either, I personally feel like its a good deal because they have some of the best pub food I've ever had. Clam chowder is always amazing, I don't know what it is with Humboldt breweries but I've never had a bad clam chowder here. You can expect somewhat of a wait, as they are often busy, but It makes sense. One of those "Ah, I wish there weren't so many people here" , not "What the hell is taking so long?" Overall, I recommend LCB to anyone who is uncertain about coming here. Just make sure to call in for a reservation if you have a group bigger than 4. Also very thankful that they are one of the few old town business to have an actual parking lot. Even with the restaurant full, there is plenty of parking space.
***EDIT: Updating my review back to 5 stars. The dip is back to normal and is perfection. Thank you so much for switching back! It’s truly the little things when going for your favorite dish and to have it hit the spot each time!*** We’ve been coming here for 13 years regularly (at least once a month). All the staff are great. Customer service is good. I do have to say it though… we’ve always loved the artichoke spinach dip until recently. The last couple times we’ve gotten it, there has been SO much oil. The recipe has definitely changed. We thought it was a fluke last time. So we tried to order again but still really oily. The picture on the left is what it used to look like and was so yummy. We could hardly eat it this time and last time couldn’t eat it at all, even after pouring tons of oil out. Such a bummer. Please bring back the old recipe!
Best fish tacos and fish and chips! Our 1st visit was nothing short of amazing! Excellent service, excellent food and drinks, great prices, generous servings, nothing at all to complain about! Clean everything, including the restrooms. We'll be going back often!
Fun, casual environment with a plethora of unique works of art to look at. Super packed menu with TONS of options. You must try the Sharkinator and a Shrimp Po Boy. Been here twice and never felt disappointed. Can’t wait to go back. Good prices, food, beer selection and it’s kid friendly.
Best place to be, definitely feels like home. If you're a tourist then this place is the definition of the heart of Eureka. Absolutely lovely and lively atmosphere, and very good service. Very friendly place for all families. If you're new to Eureka I would make reservations just in case you miss it!
We always have the best service whenever we eat here! I just recently discovered I have a gluten intolerance, and it has made going out to eat more difficult. Lost Coast has gluten free buns from Arise Bakery, and they were really decent as far as GF bread goes. I was so psyched to be able to eat a burger again!! And the cherry cider is so good. We ate at the bar and the bartender Marcus was phenomenal.
From the huge dropping spider at front door, to the beer & food-this joint Rocks! I LOVE the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad-Huge!, and the 8 ball stout beer! One of Eureka's finest!!!
Lost Coast’s Tangerine Wheat is a top 3 seller at the Gastropub I work at in Florida, so it was an absolute must stop while driving up the Cali-Oregon coast! Cassie was our bartender and she was such a pleasure to chat with. She gave us the scoop on the area and was very personable with us when she could be. I also chatted with the manager: Marcus and he is a man with a plan! Delicious beer, cool souvenirs and a great work staff!
Crispy Cod Sandwich was crispy, light, and moist! The Clam Chowder was absolutely excellent, lots of clams and not packed with potatoes/fillers like most. definitely one of the top 2 Clam Chowders in Humboldt County. Also, try the Spinach Artichoke Dip! It's to die for! If you don't want full entrees, just go for the dip and a couple of beers - yummy!
Google maps will take you to the brewery not the restaurant. Food was great. Service was great! Little bit of a wait for food, but nice atmosphere to hang out and wait.
Got here on a rainy Saturday when they opened. Although there were other patrons in the restaurant, the waitress came to our table quickly and was attentive. We shared the hot brown roast beef sandwich and had an 8-ball Stout and their Lost Coast IPA. Both food and beer were excellent!
Great stop and felt like we hit the jackpot! Rosie was the best as was the entire crew. Only had an appetizer that was fantastic and got a fantastic recommendation for dinner in town. Had to go back a second time and wish we could have gone by on our way home form our road trip. Definite great stop!
This was a true joy! Good food. Great service. Great beer! Our server, Angela S was simply great!! She was prompt, courteous , helpful and happy!! And the had gluten free options for my wife!!Thanks!!
Took grandkids there for the first time and they had fish and chips and corn dogs that both of them loved. The cowboy burger was cooked perfect and delicious.Wife loved the clam chowder and our friend liked his french dip.Great service, great food and we all bought hoodies this time.Got there when they opened on a Sunday and within 45 minutes they were packed so be prepared.
Our server Julie was awesome. Our food took a while in the kitchen, but Julie made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. We would definitely return to eat here again because of her. 5/5
Lost Coast Brewery is one of the gems in our area. A favorite weekend lunch date spot for us. Humboldt is a quirky funky area full of interesting folks, and loads of artists. Lost Coast Brewery really hits the vibe of this community and is always a fun spot. The artwork for their beers alone are super awesome. I love their Famous Hot Brown Sandwhich with one of their Fogcutter Double IPA's, that is my favorite of theirs. My wife got the fish and chips, which is always super good as well. They also sell beer in growlers to go, which is great because they have so many great ones to try.
We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed and noisy. The hostess had us wait in the lounge for 10-15 minutes and then sat us at a table. We each had 2 of their locally brewed beers which were quite good. There are plenty to choose from. I had the fish and subbed Cole slaw for the fries. My wife had the rueben and fries. The seasoned fries were great. The rueben was also good. It had a chipotle sauce that gave it an extra kick. My fish was also very good and a bit on the mild fishy side which I prefer. Our server, Sam, was excellent. He was timely and friendly. This was a family friendly place as we saw several parents with young kids there. I did think it was a bit pricey as our bill before tip was $52. Of course we did have 4 beers! Lol It's a place I would go back to.
I have never been here. I live in GA. I have a friend who hangs out here. He gives it high ratings. I don't know how to review an establishment for {{I'm not a customer}} service but if they treat their customers the way they treated my call, you need to stop by. Rumor has it the foods top notch, tangerine beer if it's your thing.
I have had Lost Coast beers from the super market so I was excited to try the pub. I was not disappointed. Service was great. Food was delicious and generous proportions. I had fish tacos, jambalaya (was more of a soup with rice but tasty), and definitely get seasoned fries. My favorite beers were the white IPA and watermelon beer. The atmosphere is pretty funky but if you're in Eureka definitely make this a stop.
Hey, this place is great for a big salad and a pretzel. The bartenders were fun and creative, and they had these cool trays so you could eat at the bar. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, it felt like a real neighborhood spot. The decor is fun (watch out for the spider!) and it's great for all ages. The food was good, and you definitely get your money's worth.
We randomly stopped in on our way south on the 101, and so glad we did! The beer-tender was so friendly and gave us recommendations for things to see in the San Fransisco area. The food was really good and the beers were amazing. We got there just when they opened, and within 30 minutes the place was full, so expect a wait if you’re looking for a table. Definitely worth a stop though!
We had lunch here on 6/30 around 12:15pm. There were only two of us, and there were immediate seats available at the bar, but we wanted a table, so we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I wanted to see what beer was the best so I tried a flight. The Great White and Tangerine were my favorites, and I ended up taking a case of Tangerine home with me! The world famous wings did not disappoint. They were, without a doubt, the best buffalo wings I have ever had. They check all the boxes. Chicken cooked perfectly with a nice crispy skin, and a spicy tangy sauce that keeps you coming back for more. And don’t get me started on the elk burger I ordered. So good! The mushrooms and onions complement the moist elk burger with the creamy avocados and fried pickles topped and an entire roasted jalapeño! What a mouth rollercoaster! 🤣 And then the seasoned fries refused to play second fiddle because they were just as good as everything else! Overall, we had a great experience with wonderful food.
Three of us ate dinner after a day in Redwood Forest. Definitely a place I’d come back too. We ordered the weekly special “Crispy Chicken Sliders, Knoxville recipe. The shrimp taco’s and fish and chips. Shrimp taco’s were delicious, crunchy, hot with avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, corn and spicy sweet sauce. chicken special is also a must if they have it when you visit. Cooked to perfection with a heaping side of seasoned fries. The fish and chips were plentiful with huge side of fries but lacked flavor, breading crispy but no flavor. Bear selection was good enjoyed the citrus beer and cherry cider. Dino and Julie did a great job, personable, friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back.
Visited Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe in Eureka and really enjoyed the house beers on tap—they have unique flavors you won’t find elsewhere. The menu offers classic American dishes, and my burger was cooked well and filling. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the staff is friendly and helpful. My only critique is that it can get a bit noisy when busy, making conversation slightly harder. Also, some of the sides felt a bit over-salted for my taste, but overall the meal was satisfying.
This place was amazing just walking in aroma was everything and the atmosphere built up by all the detail, art, newspapers, figures, etc hung up and full of life instantly seated and had a super nice and lively waitress we tried the elk, black and blue, and hot brown sandwiches all were fantastic. The fried pickles and fries were super tasty as well maybe a touch more salt but that's preference great price for quantity of food would recommend and go again
This place is fantastic. Sarah was one of, If not the most amazing bartenders I have experienced. She took such good care of us and even though it was a busy night, she took the time to make our experience truly memorable. I cannot recommend this place enough. Sit at the bar and spend some time with Sarah. You will not regret it.
My wife and i went here on one of our lunch breaks and since then, it has become one of our favorite spots to eat. The burgers are huge! The prices are reasonable. And the selection of lost Coast ales is enough to quench your thirst. One of our favorite burgers is the black and bleu burger, which is a juicy burger with Bleu cheese on it. Its so big, it's hard to even take a full bite. ( Which is a good thing) Two people could literally share a burger and still get full. It also comes with a healthy portion of fries. There's Plenty of seating, there's a bar with stools, and two giant t.v.s for watching sports. Try this place for your next date night! You won't be disappointed....p.s. try the deep fried calamari as an appetizer.
We went a different brewery recently and had a generally good experience, but I would say Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe overshadows the other place in every way. Here we did a flight of beers, one taco, Baja salad and two different sandwiches. Wow, the food and beer were great and what a value compared to the other place we went to. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back for sure.
As a local, I like their food. My favorites are the Ahi salad and wings. It’s a cool building with great staff. The fries aren’t the best in town, and I’m not a fan of the automatic 3% surcharge, just raise your prices if you need to do that.
This is a cute little place with very reasonable prices and a varied menu, lots of veggie options. Very busy when I went on a Monday evening so obviously popular! The lemon & parmesan fries tasted more lemony than cheesy and the coleslaw has pineapple in it (spiky fruits aren't meant to be eaten imo) so -1 star. Would recommend though!
Haven't been here in 2 years since moving. The food once it arrived was good. But it took over an hour to get any food and they brought one of our friends the wrong drink at least 2 times. The place was crazy busy all the way until closing so they probably just can't keep up in the kitchen.
I just recently went to this restaurant and loved it! The inside is decorated all over and the restaurant is completely kid friendly. If you’re going to eat here I recommend for you to get the buffalo wings. The only downside is that on busy days the wait time for food can go up to 30 minutes. Also ( like all awesome restaurants ) they have live sports television above the bar. Overall the restaurant is awesome and the food rocks😎
Great place to have a beer with friends. The food is good with the right amount of portions to satisfy any appetite. I had the fried cod sandwich with fries, coworkers had the tacos, roast beef sandwich and Cajun Caesar salad. No complaints here, had a couple rounds to go along with the meal. Our server did an awesome job! Would definitely come back on our next visit, was up here for a system upgrade for CALFIRE.
We enjoyed our dark beers, Downtown Brown Ale and Eight Ball Stout. Navajo chicken sandwich was tasty. Garlic fries a treat. The roast beef sandwich needed more something. Never had a waiter with such few words.. however.
Thought this place looked interesting and my wife likes the Tangareen Wheat Beer. I ordered the Famous Hot Brown roast beef sandwich, it was ok. I would have liked more aujus as it was a bit dry. My wife had the French Dip and she was pretty happy with it. Service was good but our server did almost spill my beer on me. 😬
Some breweries have great beer and delicious pub food. This one ticks the first box, but the food was really not very good. The Navaho burger's flat bread was way too oily and the fries were nothing special. But if it's a good beer you want and fun decor, then skip the food and watch a game. Oh yeah! The men's toilet smelled like a New York alley. Not clean despite the lock on the door
We had the calamari, which was one of the better calamaries, I've had anywhere. We also had a hard cherry cider, which was absolutely worth getting again. We did get the cod fish tacos which were just okay. I expected a little bit better, but the fish was good. Just the composition of the taco felt like a fish sandwich in street taco form. Creamy coleslaw and tartar sauce is a bit weird for taco but great on a sandwich. It just needed a fresh cilantro and a lime crema. We will likely be back, but not for the fish tacos. 😃 Also, they add a 3% service charge to your bill for some reason. Maybe they had a sign up or an explanation in the menu , but I didn't see it.
Excellent drinks, pretty good service, terrible atmosphere. Noisy space due to hard surfaces and large number of basic tables and chairs crammed into the space, everything's sticky, and clamoring children out of control in the back lounge area. I guess I was expecting booths? Maybe outside seating? Definitely expected to be able to have a conversation in a normal tone of voice. But the cherry cider is out of this world!
Look, I've been here every time I've come to town and the beers are great, 4 or 5 stars for the beers. But the food...is usually OK. Today, I went vegetarian, and it was totally, hopelessly underwhelming. I ordered the tofu tacos and they literally just cut a tofu patty in half, barely attempted to season it, and slapped it in the very fronty-front of a tortilla while the whole rest of the tortilla was filled with ONLY a cabbage slaw. They didn't even attempt to make a nice dice and mix the tofu in or anything, it was just a half moon of tofu at the front! I get it, in the US like 1 out of 20 customers that come in are vegetarians, but for chrissakes take some pride in your work! Two stars for the tofu fail and 4 for the eight ball stout, let's just even that out to a round 3.
They have good food here but be prepared to wait. Me and my wife showed up at 6pm and ordered, 49 minutes later we have no food. I know it’s good, but it’s not too busy to where the wait time should be pushing an hour. Button your kitchen up and get 5 stars.
Super expensive for not the best elk burger. Our bill was $80 somehow for 3 of them with garlic fries, which were bland. They had a gluten free bun option though, which was nice. We ordered to go and that was 25 minutes and then we got there and waited 30 min which wasn’t a huge deal because they were busy.
Decent Spot in town, super busy at lunch time. Waited upwards of 15 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. Watched our server take orders and drink orders from 2 tables that sat after my group. Of similar party size or smaller. The wait and ignorance of customer flow, or queue order is what took this review down. Overall 3 stars, beer is a local staple, but there's tons of options. Service was cordial, but slow. Parking is okay at best, paid.
Beer was pretty good. Chicken curry soup excellent. Burgers have this very strange sweet honey wheat bun that was not cooked in my experience. Middle of bun was batter. I probably won’t be returning, definitely not for food. Feel sort of bad that they can’t make a burger that tastes good.....
We just blew into town hungry and didn't have a clue as to a dining option. I checked Google reviews and this looked safe. Soooo stinking noisy. Very similar to a jet aircraft without suppression. The food was average and the "craft beer" absolutely insipid. The server was very nice, but too busy. You wouldn't go twice! Nasty bar type restrooms.
This place used to be so good. So disappointed. The calamari was rubbery and under seasoned. The cod sandwich was super bland. Fries were good. Server was really nice. Not worth the price.
I tried the lost coast brewery recommendation... not a fan. The only good take away i had was the fries bro. The atmosphere... not pleasant really, sticky table too. Pretty damn expensive too. Outta four people, the fries better than the main. Ended up goin home to eat it.
Honestly, the food was extremely disappointing. My friend got fish tacos and beer flight. She liked the beer fight but felt that tacos were okay. I got their "famous" hot brown sandwich, but there was nothing famous about it. The meat was dry. Their hickory smoked bacon had no flavor. Took 2 bites, and then I had to leave the rest.
I’m writing this mainly so that you keep up the good quality of your food and don’t lose customers just to save a few dollars. Today I ordered two burgers with fries and an extra order of fries. The extra fries were served hours earlier, since they felt hard and chewy. It bothers me that you might lose loyal weekly customers over just a few dollars. I hope you pay attention and keep up the good quality, because it’s a great place to eat.
Walked up and was sat at the bar with my wife. While we were waiting, we watched the bartender host an 8 minute meeting with her coworkers while eating a sandwich, all behind the bar. Took her 8 minutes to even acknowledge our presence. All this time I was watching them stack glass ware in the bar well. If y'all have ever worked in a bar you will know this is a huuuuuuge safety issue. Not only this, they are chilling the glassware with ice out of these disgusting looking buckets. As a person with 15 years experience behind the bar, I saw nothing but red flags the moment I sat down. Great beer, what a horrible operation they have at their cafe. I challenge you to do better Lost Coast. Your beer deserves more than your service provides. Let's see if you have the guts to address the issues I just called you out on, or if you only say "Thank you" to the easy 5 star reviews (which I am completely "Lost" on how you got them)
Just went there. The experience sucked! Waitress was nice, but slow and they had an extra charge of almost $3 random on the bill and waitress said it was for the electric bill. Service was super rude once I mentioned the extra charge. Will not be going back!
Our experience was terrible at this restaurant. After following the directions to see a hostess to be seated and putting our names down we were accosted by the manager for “being in the way.” He told us we should have sat in the lounge. As you can see in the pictures this A) no place to sit and B) no way to know the lounge is open seating. Eventually when we asked our status for a table we were told they were not in a hurry to seat us. Even after we ordered drinks and appetizers. When a communication professional and multiple service industry professionals could not tell where we could or could not stand or sit there is a problem.
We stopped by Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe for lunch passing through town on my Honeymoon Road Trip. We shared the Elk Burger, the burger had no flavor whatsoever for a $18+ burger was hopping for a delicious juicy burger which was not. The up charge for the Lemon Garlic fries are ok but didn’t taste much of the lemon/garlic. I would recommend eating something or somewhere else when visiting.
