Avis sur Jeremy's Ale House New York
Food is Fantastic the drinks are Phenomenal $20. 32oz. Long Island Ice Teas are out of this world My Wife is a Bartender and She only had 1-32oz. Bloodymary and she was feeling nice The Staff I Love Them There Great !!!!
This place is GREAT!! I was lucky enough to pop in here when the food was free, because they had a gas leak. I had an awesome hotdog and an amazing ham sandwich. No joke! Great little pub! I am coming back later when the grill is up.
I absolutely love this bar, the atmosphere and the people. I have been here plenty of times when I come to the City to visit my family. It can get a little cramped in there on busy nights, but is one of the few bars in NYC you'll find where everyone is an equal when they walk in.
Jeremy's has become my family's household name. The atmosphere is super cool and innovative with Bras hanging from the ceiling in different shapes, colours and sizes. This is a one stop bar where one can congregate, eat, drink, chill and be merry. When I was visiting my family in New York, it would be a standard joke that if I was missing, I would definitely be hanging out at Jeremy's.
This place has always been here and will never leave... an awesome spot to drink cheap beers with friends and watch NY sports games on their many TVs. They have a bar menu which is great too. They serve the big beers in large styrofoam cups which is always fun to drink out of!
The best BAR in the financial district. The Beer comes in 32 oz foam cups and the food is amazing bar grub. The staff is friendly and a joy to have known over the years.
THE ALE HOUSE is VERY NICE. The Atmosphere is VERY conducive to fine Dinning. I LOVE THE BOOTHS. THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT don't Rush you. It's VERY QUAINT and Relaxing. The service Associates are Professional and courteous and Personable 😊
This is the best dive bar around, inexpensive beer in huge 32 oz plastic cups. A great environment and amazing food. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is the best!! I can't think of a better spot for lunch when I am in the city.
Great pub food and great for sports. They make really good super sized cocktails and have a fantastic selection of beers. Steve, DJ and Milton are legendary bartenders. Always a blast!
Good dive bar. Not sure how I feel about the styrofoam cups and the bras hanging from the ceiling, but these are certainly distinguishing "features" for the place, albeit rather kitschy ones. Nevertheless, bartenders/manager was attentive and friendly: somewhat gruff but in an endearing way. The surprise here was the quality of the "bar food", which was MUCH better than I expected. Best onion rings I can remember having! Salads in a taco shell, loaded with cheese, meat and/or shrimp. Edited Aug. 2023: No more styrofoam cups and the bras have grown on me...so I changed my review to add a fifth star.
One of the best deals in town for Thursday night. Huge beers, good selection, and great eats make this an instant hit for those looking for a bar to call their own. Been around forever, but have a newer crowd following. The bartenders probably make the difference, as they are personable and engaging. This local watering hole will be my NYC favorite!
Amazing place, the great div baar in NYC. They serve 32 oz beers at just 10$. Vibe is super chill, must visit once.
Very great spot in South street seaport! Very cool atmosphere with amazing and delicious food and many beer choices! To be honest price wise compared to any other places around is so good! They have amazing burgers, very nice wings and sandiwches! There is no reason to leave less than 5stars for this place!
This is the dive bar of all dive bars, but I love it more than any other dive bar in the world! The manager is awesome, the staff is friendly and I'm pretty sure they'd throw anyone out if they looked at you the wrong way! Super cold and CHEAP hugeeeeee beers, good bar food and delicious potato "chips" that are fried and served with cheese. HEAVEN!
We had our dinner here today...very reasonable price ...the 2 guys behind the bar were awsome.....we both had a burger and fries...i had a beer....which was BIG...wife had juice...all in under 40 bucks.....busy friendly bar thankyou 💙🔥😎
One of my favorite bars in ny. Went here two months ago. Came back today and my bra is on the wall with my name and picture. Not sure how it got there but I like it
This place was near our hotel and had good reviews so we checked it. The food was really, really good (great meat to bun ratio) , and the beer cups were more like beer buckets. I had an Italian sub hero that was full of flavor (get the hot peppers as recommended)! Definitely make a stop here!
Had a fun night out with friends here. Happy atmosphere, lots of people, tourists and locals alike seemed to have a good time. The drinks were huge and more than reasonably priced. Interesting ceiling decorations inside the bar.
Jeremy's is the best. My wife and I come here often for margaritas and some of the best bar food in the city. Bartenders are great, servers are attentive, and the drinks are always cold (unless its a hot drink). To all the snowflakes crying racism, shame on you.
I've been coming here in fits and starts for the last 25 years or so... even when it was at the prior "Mad Max style" location up the road. I never break the bank during my visits and I really have never lingered more than 2 hours, yet my friends and I always have an amazing time here and we end up meeting great people from around the globe. The staff are amazing as well. I actually intend on taking my kids here when they're of age in a few years. A truly original gem.
The atmosphere was exactly what we needed after a long trip. Super cool area & fair prices on drinks. Carlos is the man!
What an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!!!? This place is GREAT! Great prices fun atmosphere and definitely a must try at least once! The Vibes and music are perfect if you want to chill with your besties, let’s not forget the HUGE cups of beer that'll have you sipping like a baby bottle! Overall…A DEFINITE FAVORITE !!!!!
Amazing! Found on Google while visiting NYC, had to try it out and definitely found a favorite. Food was delicious and great portions for the price, the beers were HUGE, the staff is so nice, and the vibes are immaculate. 10/10, coming back next visit for sure
Came across from the pier 16 ferry looking for simple food with outdoor seating somewhere that wasn't at the south street seaport mall. We saw the huge beer glases walking by with people sitting outside. Good choice. Staff was great, bartender funny and very helpful. I was very happy that the bill wasn't that crazy, we ordered tons of stuff. We enjoyed tequila, beers, juice, calamari, wings, fries. Very simple and good atmosphere I recommend. I was hosting friends a good choice we made coming here.
Great place, it's been around forever (I still prefer the original location down the block though). Bucket beers at an affordable price and awesome fried clams. Can't go wrong.
One of the best dive bars in NYC. Drinks the size of your hand. Bras hanging from the ceiling. Old school vibes with character in a characterless neighborhood. A mist visit for any who want to wash themselves of the pretentiousness of Wall Street
The place is very spacious and the service is wonderful. The food is very good and fresh. The drinks are also very good at the bar. They serve you very well. Any drink is made there. I recommend it to have a good time.
Thank you for the great times I had back in the day when the buildings and roads were being redone. I used to go to this bar all the time. I told the guys there about how my mom can shoot tequila better than anyone. When my parents came down they had the best time! I have always been thankful for your hospitality. Nebraska.
One of the best bars in the city. I'm glad it's been able to keep it's personality through Jeremy + his son. I love this place and the personality/attitude it has. I am glad it has found a need to re-model itself and shape itself to fit the new trendy model. The beer is cheap and delicious. The food is cheap and also delicious. I have been going to this place for 6 years (even during the pandemic) -- truly one of the few places in NYC that deserves 5 stars.
The Mecca of Dive Bars - they serve cold beers in soup container cups at great prices. Also have a little outdoor area
Busy and young crowd and beers are served in 2 pint measures (32oz)! What’s not to like
I've been going to Jeremy's ale House since the '80s. I've followed them to three different locations. And they are just as awesome now as they have ever been. If you like burgers, I highly recommend the cheeseburger platter. And don't forget to order one of the large beers to go along with it. The selection of draft beers is truly impressive.
This place rules, but when did they start charging a cover on Fridays after 10? Update - there is no cover there, someone tried to do it as a joke. Jeremy’s is the best!
I'm legitimately in LOVE with Jeremy's Ale House...The massive beers, the huge Fish'N'Chips, the perfectly prepared Mozzarella Sticks.... We were walking around the area and trying to find something to do before our flight back home, and happened across Jeremy's Ale House. It's clearly very divey inside, but also very expansive and spacious in the seating options. We easily found a table for ourselves and ordered some beers and food from the counter - it's a bit cheaper if you use cash, by the way! The beers are HUGE, so great value for your money. And like I said earlier, the Fish'N'Chips and he Mozzarella Sticks we ordered were both PERFECT. Pipin' Hot, massive portions, and perfectly delicious in every way you could possibly desire. From friendly bartenders, to great value...huge beers and portions of food....I've got no complaints at all! Jeremy's Ale House is a great dive bar with drinks and grub to chill at for a while!
This place is great. The owner made my friends and I feel like we've been coming there for years. The decor is original, the prices are very fair and the food is bangin. Dont miss out on this spot guys.
My Guy Milton is a great host. Make sure you ask for Milton. He will make sure that you are gd.
Great place for cheap beer in a styrofoam cup. They even have their own signature house ale. The bar snacks are tasty and the decor is interesting. This is the kind of place you and a couple buddies can spend hours hanging out at. Very nice in the late afternoon, not too crowded.
Not bad... ended up here for the beginning of the Super Bowl. Very low key dive spot, but had a fun atmosphere almost reminiscent of some of the fun spots along the beach in Fort Lauderdale or Key West, even. They had a complimentary buffet, order at the counter kind of bar, and seats which were much a la plastic lawn chairs. Perfect for a sports watching venue. Bras hanging from the ceiling and along the bar? Just icing on one classy cake!
Jeremy's is a great old school dive with cheap drinks (in huge styrofoam cups), cheap and tasty bar food, and a great atmosphere. The place is a decent size, so you can grab a table with a bunch of friends and watch the game on one of their many TVs and not have to worry about sitting on top of someone else. The manager and staff are warm and friendly, and you can chat them up while your order your food. If you come during the afternoon, it doesn't get too crowded, either.
Still love Jeremy's--cheap beer, good food. it's been a while since I've been there (since the old location down the block), this new spot is way smaller and no backyard. We had a couple apps, lunch and icy cold beer-great crowd and nice bartenders. Bathroom is a disgrace though, so bring your Purell.
Stopped into this bar with my partner to catch the last few minutes of a game and unfortunately left pretty disappointed. I ordered two basic mixed drinks and was served massive, 30+ oz cups without any warning about the supersized portions or prices. Perhaps my fault for not noticing the dimly-lit chalkboard prefacing large drinks, but… When I got the $43 bill pre-tip I was shocked. A little heads up from the bartender about the large pours and price points before taking my order would have set expectations properly. While the atmosphere is lively, and the drinks themselves were fine, the lack of transparency around pricing was frustrating. Clear communication and visible pricing could improve the experience. Probably a better spot for beer, as the name suggests - I just hope this constructive feedback will prevent surprises for future patrons.
4.5 stars rounded down. Inexpensive dive bar. 12 oz ($6?) draft beer served in disposable plastic cups. Nonchalant service. Cute outdoor seating in a quiet street in the Seaport area. Quiet on a Tuesday 4:30pm.
Laid back place to stop by for a few drinks, great atmosphere and great prices.
We stumbled across this place while touring around and didn’t expect much. It’s a dive bar with character. Good craft beers and food. Not rating it a 5 as drinks are served in plastic cups and food is served in styrofoam. Hopefully this changes.
Nice spot. But the place is a little dated. However, drinks are good - u will feel a buzz. Also, I love their seasoned fries... delish! Oh, and ladies, if u have an old bra, take it to Jeremy's. If you've never been there, go see for yourself.
The place has changed drastically. The prices, the crowds and the staff. I have great memories of the awesome nights and the people here. It just doesn't feel the same anymore. Seems like after the pandemic, the bar had to make many changes to keep up with the economy and conform with new laws surrounding serving alcohol. Can't blame them for that but definitely not the same experience as the old school Jeremys Ale House. Regardless, I still like the place.
This establishment is, in the end, the home to which we are meant to return. Don’t understand their semi-annual phases of not letting anyone in. Jeremy’s, hear me— the inspired, promising youths of Pace University need you!
The theme is deceptive for how great the food is. It's 80's dive bar in appearance. Dark with graffiti and discarded bras all over. Lol. But the food is fresh and amazing. Particularly the Fish and Chips. I'll definitely return here.
Jeremy's Ale House: where the beers are HUGE, the cups are bigger, and bras hang from the ceiling. It's a dive bar with character (and questionable hygiene). You won't be disappointed. A lady was missing an eye so I took the star off. This was the only pub opened during Covid. So included photos from those glorious days
Great easy going bar. Very large food menu for the area and all surprisingly reasonably priced. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. It had two chicken cutlets slathered in buffalo sauce on really great hero bread. Loved the beer in the soup container. Great spot to grab some simple food and drinks. Will be frequenting more often. But if you want more of a home bar feel with super friendly staff just stick to fish market.
Fun place, albeit a self described 'dive bar'. Some elements come across as a little try-hard (bras hanging from the ceiling and beer in plastic cups), but it's actually quite well looked after. Tables were all clean and the staff were friendly. The beers are standard fare, but the prices are hard to argue with (everyone was ~$6 plus there are some crazy happy hour offers).
Fun place but frequented by creeps. The decor is mostly used bras "donated" by gullible females in exchange for free beer. Though they do showcase a bra with cups larger than my head, so that's interesting. The beer is nice and cheap and it's a decent place to hang out with friends; just watch out for the men who leer at you on your trip to the restrooms.
No A/C kinda killed it for me when the heat index was over 100. Not much bar seating so not ideal for solo travellers. Super good prices though and interesting vibe. Will have to come back sometime when its less hot. Also can't say I'm a fan of the way the owners replied to some of the other reviews here.
Paid for two hard ciders in a tall can and one on draft which came in a big plastic cup, plus, three shots of well whiskey. Price for all 3 things was like $71. No clear indication in the pricing of drinks. The bar is pricy college bar with a pretense of a dive bar. Perhaps it was the women's bra's hanging from the ceiling? IDK. I did come in on a Saturday night, maybe that has something to do with it so don't let what I said discourage you from coming if this is your type of scene. The bar has a rustic old fashioned look which is nice, the music had a Latino pop dance music going which felt like the same song going for 30 minutes.
Do not order the chicken wings! Can't explain but i know nobody would eat them, what's worse is the bartender vouched for the awful appearance and taste of this ONE wing that I couldn't even finish.. Yes that bad.. Also ordered a FRIED chicken sandwich one day and got a horrible piece of grilled chicken.. bottom line this is a place for drinking don't waste your money on food here unless it's the last spot your visiting for the night and your STARVING and with that don't order the wings!!!
I prefer the menu at the Freeport, NY location, which has more variety. I really wish raw cherrystone clams on the half shell were on the menu… and a choice of fish such as mahi.
Can't rate the food because I didn't have any. I just stopped in for a beer and a Jameson. I got a kick out of the bras on the ceiling, it was different. It was very crowded but I managed to get a seat at the bar. The atmosphere seems like a small step up from a frat party. The price for the Heineken and Jameson wasn't bad for the area but more than I've paid at some other dive bars. It's a cool place to check out at The Seaport especially if you like a lively atmosphere.
DON'T COME HERE IF YOU AREN'T WHITE, YOU'LL GET DENIED SERVICE. Denied service because "we are closed" despite a group of ten or so and an individual arriving after us and ordering beers with their cards. When I pressed further, the person behind the counter pulled the square payment terminals away and despite having seconds ago allowing a group to pay (that arrived a few minutes after). I have never had this happen until today. Edit: We arrived as a group approximately 15-30 minutes before midnight. When we arrived we sat down for 2 or 3 minutes, then I went to the bar counter to order. One of the bartenders looked at me and stated that they were closed. I sat back down for a minute, confused, and saw a female individual that appeared to already have been at the bar order and be served a beer. Within about a minute or so of that, the large group of ten-ish individuals entered the bar and a few of them were served drinks after paying with the square card readers being presented in front of them. After that, I figured I'd go back up and see if it was just a mistake. I asked if I could buy a drink, and the same bartender first said we're closed, I frustratedly responded saying that he had just (less than 1 minute before) served a group who paid, then he said "cash only" and grabbed the 3 square card readers and was moving them away. My two issues with that is it was never mentioned that I apparently could, according to that bartender buy a beer if I had cash because they just said "we're closed" the first time, despite someone getting a drink right after, and the second time, unless I didn't see this correctly, and I'd gladly retract what I said if I'm wrong, but the group that entered after I already had been denied seemed to either pay with a card or were charged with the card readers. All of this happened before midnight and multiple people were served after I asked, who had gone up to the bartender after me. Additionally, nobody in my group was intoxicated. We weren't all Latino, either.
First off let me say this. The prices were awesome when you look through the glass door. Upon entering, I seen a rat run past my foot. No worries I figured this is the streets so it must’ve been coming from somewhere being that water is nearby and everywhere. I have to go on inside and sit down. I went inside the bathroom and went and sit down in the back. I thought I saw something run again and I said maybe this is a rat. So I asked my girlfriend did she see that and she said she didn’t see anything. So I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me. I proceeded to place my order for the chicken sandwich and fries and ordered two beers. Our beers came out in about 10 minutes which was fine. But it was flat. It tasted like it was just sitting there on top for a while. When the chicken sandwich came out while I’m eating it. I noticed a rat run right past my foot and that’s what did it for me. I called over the manager whose name was Justin not only was he sarcastic he lied. He seem very racist and suggested we go somewhere else if we didn’t like where we was at. That did it. We got up and left and we didn’t even pay the bill. Don’t ever go hair if you are of color. They are racial, especially Justin the manager they need to get rid of him.
racists!!!! forced my poc friends and i to order six drinks in order to get a table. everyone else had a table despite not having drinks but us. we had previously ordered food and we were told by staff to get a table. the second we sat we were told by a different staff member to leave for sitting!! and we're told the items we ordered were not enough to get a table despite being told by staff to get a table. the same staff member who told us to leave then said that our purchased food items brought in no money for them and that we had to order drinks to sit. the only good part about this place are the servers!!! who attempted to make it a good experience because they saw and were well aware about the way the other staff members were treating us. also the person who answers these reviews uses their “latino” staff as an excuse to say that they’re not racist or discriminatory towards latinos & people of color, which is a lie! if you’re not white/white passing, you will get treated badly, NOT WORTH IT!!!!!
Friend of mine got ROOFIED here on 05/15/2025
Update for the owner: shame on me? Shame on you for your response! I visited in October 2021. What I experienced was real and how we were actually treated. Even if the guy wasn't Jeremy, he was still rude. We felt ignored and unwelcomed. The guy actually smirked and pretended he didn't understand my English. We saw other white males getting greeted and served with a smile! But here we were, two Asian females, and were ignored and treated rudely. So don't put this shame on me BS! If you are a female and a female of color, please do yourself a favor and do not come here! We came here early on a weekday afternoon around 3pm and felt we were discriminated against. The guy working inside was extremely rude to us. And looking up the picture of the owner, he is probably the owner, Jeremy, himself. He repeatedly smirked at me and pretended he didn't understand me and asked me the same questions over and over. He made some snide comments when I closed my tab when he asked me where we were going and I said we were going somewhere else in the area. He also tried to overcharge my credit card for an extra order of the Buffalo wings that we didn't order. Funny how he thought we ordered two when he was the one that handed the food to me. And mind you it was not busy on a weekday at 3pm and we left before 4! I sincerely hope it was a mistake and not done on purpose. The wings had nice flavors but was soggy and soft. I like my chicken crispy. And there were tons of fruit flies at their outdoor dining tent! They were flying into our beer! Yuck! Mind you the bras hanging off the ceiling didn't even bother us nor the strong stench. From the minute we walked in, we felt we were not welcomed. The only person that was somewhat friendly was the bartender. I would not return this this place ever.
The bartender charged my card 57$ for two aperols. The cocktails were big, but I feel like he added whatever tip he decided to take without showing me a check or letting me know about it. The bar was full of guys in their 20s, but they would not come to talk to beautiful girls, just kept it in small circles, so I think its a gay bar where strait beautiful girls were not welcomed
The atmosphere seems like a nice place but the service is HORRIBLE. I don’t know who she is but there’s this woman that seems to be a bartender and waitress and she had the worst attitude. We were paying customers minding our business and she ripped drinks we payed for out of our hands and kicked us out. She has a known reputation of being extremely rude and unwelcoming. I will never go back and i recommend being aware of her.
My boyfriend and I went to this place on a Thursday night and really loved it at first—the vibe was great and the music was good. I paid $16 for a cocktail and a hot dog, which I thought was very reasonable. I paid with my card, and I found it strange that the bartender (an older man) didn’t hand me the machine to tip—he just moved it away quickly. I still wanted to tip, so I took $2 in cash from my purse and gave it to him. Later, I saw a $20 charge on my bank account. When I checked the receipt, I realized he had added a tip himself and even signed it as if it were me. I’m not upset about the amount—I’m upset about the dishonesty. You can’t just add a tip and forge a signature without the customer’s consent. That’s stealing. It really ruined what had been a great night, and I was hoping to come back to this place in the future. Sadly, I won’t support a business that operates this way. If you visit, make sure to double-check your receipt and personally sign the payment screen.
