This is a MUST! Honestly...when Kabuki closed on Foothill Blvd, we thought it had closed for good and we were so sad. BUT recently we discovered it had moved to Colorado and San Gabriel Blvd.. So happy to report that it is still an excellent place to enjoy wonderfully prepared Japanese cuisine that is not only delicious but well presented. We had the basic bento Teriyaki combos with tempura. Portions are generous and come with traditional miso soup and a side of rice... And... save room for dessert..green tea ice cream!
Really great Japanese restaurant serving all kinda of authentic dishes. They have a great deal for lunch, the portions are big and amazing value. All of the food tasted delicious and was presented beautifully. The interior is huge and very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have plenty of free parking in a parking lot or underground parking.
Hi Kabuki Team, I just wanted to take a moment to genuinely thank you for the incredible hospitality you showed me today. From the moment I walked in, the experience felt intentional, warm, and full of excellence. It honestly reminded me of that same joy and care you feel at Disney, combined with the thoughtful service that Chick-fil-A is known for, but with your own unique Kabuki touch. Please extend my gratitude to Kasslyn (AGM), Dian, Yessy, and Emma. Every one of them showed a level of kindness, professionalism, and attentiveness that made the entire visit unforgettable. They didn’t just serve food, they created an experience. That’s something people feel, remember, and want to come back for. Your team has a gift for making guests feel valued and welcomed, and it really shows in every detail. Anyone looking for amazing food, a peaceful atmosphere, and staff who truly care about their guests, Kabuki is the place to be. Thank you again for making my visit memorable. I’ll definitely be returning, and I’ll be encouraging others to come experience what you all create here.
Kabuki Sushi is an absolute gem! We came during their Happy hour on a Saturday. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Hannah gave the best service. The sushi is out of this world--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend Kabuki Sushi for anyone looking to enjoy an exceptional dining experience. Definitely a 5-star spot!
Came for happy hour on a Sunday at 4³⁰. We came right before the cut-off at 5pm 😬 Had to wait all bit for a server to get our order, but once we ordered, everything came with good time and the food was great! They just changed the menu and the hand rolls come in pairs, like little tacos instead of a traditional handroll. I didn't mind it at all. The fish was great quality, and everything was well done. Liked the presentation as well!
We went for the first time, my 6yr old absolutely loves sushi (CA rolls and such) not real sushi yet, but we went because the kids wanted to go since it's grand opening. It was everything we hoped for and more, the service AMAZING! from the moment you walk in until you leave. We absolutely loved our dinner, the time we spent there, the freshness, the family friendly atmosphere, just all around a FANTASTIC experience 😊 We will be returning at the very least weekly 😊Thank you!!! 🎉
HANDS DOWN A DELICIOUS EXPERIENCE! We started off with the ginseng tea, California roll and green roll appetizers. They were AMAZING! The avocado sauce that comes with the green roll (asparagus), was rich and creamy. Our party enjoyed the Hibachi rice with pork belly, an ABSOLUTE must. The Teriyaki chicken and salmon plates with tempura vegetables was also a party in our mouths. We also enjoyed a pork belly bowl, it was my least favorite, but still yummy! Our server, Cindy, was very informative and sweet. She was always available when we needed something and even anticipated my NEED for more eel sauce 😬. A very nice and clean environment coupled with GREAT food and subtle ambiance. TiDa recommends!
The service and sushi here are really good. I have been coming on and off since I was in high school nearly 20 years ago. I appreciate the fresh ingredients. My favorites were the lobster and scallop sushi dishes. As a tip, they have happy hour specials between 3-5 PM if you’re looking to save some money. Not everything on the menu is offered at the discounted price, but a lot is. Will return when craving sushi!
Fun spot with more open and lively atmosphere. I enjoy the teriyaki chicken with mixed tempura plate. My wife loves the veggie tempura rolls and seared tuna steak. Haven’t tried the happy hour yet, but we’re planning on it.
I would get this place 4.5 stars overall. It's the same Kabuki that we all know and love, with solid sushi and rolls. I used to frequent Kabuki once a month and though there have been some modifications to their menu, they have been consistent in their quality and taste. I just wouldn't put this at the very top of my sushi list :-) but everyone has their preferences. This new location looks great on the inside, much more open ambiance, and we had really good service.
Food was okay and decent as usual. Can't expect too much from a faux Japanese restaurant that is more geared towards Americanized food rather than traditional. Service was amazing. Atmosphere could have been a better. I understand there are birthdays and wanting to celebrate with tambourines but please note there are other individuals that may or may not be more sensitive to noises above just talking and food preparation.
I had a mixed experience at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant. While the atmosphere was trendy and inviting, the quality of the food and drinks was inconsistent. The margarita was disappointing, tasting like a pre-made mix, but the $2 happy hour beer was a highlight. The soy ramen fell short, with unappealing noodles and a lack of flavor, but the sesame chicken was a standout—it was perfectly crispy with excellent flavor. The gyoza had a great crunch but could have used more seasoning. Unfortunately, several dishes and utensils appeared soiled, suggesting some issues with the dishwashing process. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant had its strong points, and I’d consider returning, though I’d be more selective about what I order.
This time I ordered a spicy beef ramen and I was very disappointed. I had about 6 prices of meat and all of them were cartridge and rubbery types of meat. Very chewy and almost bone like ( cartridge) . I completely removed all the meat but since it was also very shredded, I ended up chewing on pieces in other moments. This made the whole soup un enjoyable… along with the very oily broth. I couldn’t enjoy the soup. Very unfortunate experience. I’ve come here mostly for happy hour and I always get a drink or hot tea with sushi, always enjoyed. Having this soup and at that quality made me question the quality of other food they’ve served. I feel sick knowing I ate one of those pieces. Super rubbery crunchy textured meat.
On Saturday 01/24/2026 I telephone ordered Beef Sukiyaki for takeout dinner. Eating it at home I bit into a sharp piece of metal that poked the inside of my mouth. Had the soup cooled down I would have taken huge bites/gulps and swallowed it. I called the store, spoke to the store manager to notify of incident, she offered to replace the soup, which I wanted no part of again. She voided the transaction. Manager told me I would hear from Human Resources on Monday, I never heard from her. A week went by and I dropped off the metal shard in person and was told by the store manager that she would email HR to get back to me, and I still never heard back from them. I even submitted an inquiry on the main Kabuki website directly. Still never heard back from them. Do NOT order soup here unless you enjoy sharp metal in food.
The server was rude and controlling from the start, rushing us to order and making us feel uncomfortable. When it was time for dessert, my husband ordered a fried ice cream, I ordered another one, and she immediately interrupted with “No, no, no, two ice creams, one is enough” — as if she gets to decide what paying customers can order in an à la carte restaurant. At checkout, while we were signing the receipt, she again interrupted saying “not too much”, tossed the receipt on the table, and walked away. The situation made us feel pressured and almost forced to leave a tip. Out of politeness, we still left 20%, though the service clearly did not deserve it. I did speak with the manager afterward, and she was very kind and professional. However, that does not erase the unpleasant experience caused by the server. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
I went to eat here with a friend. We were craving sashimi and wanted some good sushi. The ambiance and atmosphere looked nice and high end. We were excited to try the sushi. When the sushi came out, the cut was huge and the fish was frozen. Not fresh at all. It taste like ice and fishy. So bad. The cook stuff was ok but disappointed that the sashimi was below subpar. The service was bad too. The serve kept interrupting us and rushing us to eat and leave. The place was not even busy. Many empty tables, why rush us to go? Will not be coming back. Go to a legit Japanese restaurant.
