They have some weird food here - and I mean that as a compliment. In many areas inside the Blue Line (the Adirondacks), the food is expected but at Cafe Adirondack, they have some fun options! The dumplings are well done and ahi tuna is seared as should be. this restaurant is the perfect example of a hidden gem.
Food is so good. Everything is freshly made and of good quality. It has a nice casual family atmosphere and you are not going to break the bank. One of my wife's and mine favorite places to enjoy delicious food and good people.
After a heroic day of skiing (read: surviving), the elite culinary task force of myself, my wife Linda, and our distinguished panel of highly opinionated food critics — Steve, Norma, David, Emily, Walt, Wild Bill, and Merilie — descended upon Cafe Adirondack in search of three mythical things: great food, reasonable prices, and service that doesn’t make you feel like you just ruined someone’s night. Shockingly… they delivered. Apparently, they cook actual food there — like homemade, from-scratch food — not “expertly reheated by Mike the Microwave.” I had the vegetable dumplings and they were exceptional, paired with a homemade sweet chili sauce that had the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. No packets. No squeeze bottles from aisle seven. The real deal. The seafood special? Straight from the ocean — crab cake, cod, scallops, shrimp — and it tasted like it had just left the dock and headed directly to our table. Perfectly prepared, fresh, and generous. In a ski town. Let that sink in. Every single one of us left completely satisfied, which for a hungry ski crew is rarer than untouched corduroy at 2 p.m. They even worked with us on the bill without requiring a finance committee meeting. And because apparently we have zero self-control after burning 400 calories all day, we went all in on dessert. I had the caramelized bread pudding with intensely flavorful whipped cream — the kind that makes you close your eyes and question why you ever order anything else. Linda chose the key lime pie, bright and perfectly balanced, and “just one bite” turned into me negotiating for a second fork. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, more accommodating, or more patient with our post-ski enthusiasm. Linda and I are already planning our return to properly explore the rest of the menu. Cafe Adirondack is officially locked in as a mandatory stop on our next trip — because when you find a place this good, you don’t whisper about it… you broadcast it.
Truly delicious food. Probably the best restaurant in the Adirondacks. Amazing Chloe’s fries & crab cakes but EVERYTHING is good here. Friendly & professional staff!
This place is a gem! Who knew you could have such a great restaurant in lil ole Pottersville? My salmon and scallop dinner was served with gourmet ravioli and nicely cooked and seasoned veggies. All were superb. The generous servings were enough for another full meal. Service was friendly, fast and professional. This is the best restaurant between Ticonderoga, Schroon Lake and North Creek. No contest. Probs a good idea to make reservations. Place is popular. For good reasons.
My wife and I were visiting my recently married daughter and her husband and he suggested we try this restaurant since he grew up in the area and really liked it. Good call. The parking lot was full but the wait time for a table was about 30 minutes. Not bad. We were seated and served drinks and appetizers very quickly but the food was a little delayed for about 30 minutes for some reason. Overall my steak and pasta with alfredo was excellent cooked perfectly. The other dishes of seafood and chicken were also very good. I would highly recommend giving this place a try.
They handled a party of 8 on, I am sure, one of the busiest nights of the year....New Years day. Anne (I hope I spelled it right) was great. Apps and dinners where on point. Thank you for a great meal!!
I don’t think I’ve ever came in here that it wasn’t packed. This is definitely a gem of a spot. Their food is amazing. Eggplant is better than I’ve ever had. Their bread is freshly made and to die for. I’ve gotten something different every time I’ve ever went and I’ve never been disappointed. Try to get the lobster bisque. Yummy!
I love this place. The food was quite good. The menu has a lot of variety but the quality holds up, despite the wide range. Portions are very generous and the prices are affordable. Nice wine list too! It gets crowded and can be a little loud in summertime, but that is a pretty minor issue. I am looking forward to returning here next summer.
Ran across this place a couple of years ago while travelling home from the Adirondacks. Have since driven back (over 60 miles) for dinner. Great food, great service...every time. The owners and staff do everything possible to ensure your satisfaction. Just kind, thoughtful, friendly people ... who also work hard to provide home cooked food...at very reasonable prices. Much appreciated...please don't change a thing!
Awesome. We just relocated to the area and were looking for a nice anniversary dinner. Called at last minute for reservations and had option of 430 or 730. Took 430 glad we did as when we left it was full with waiting customers. Appetizer was the crab stuffed mushroom. Great preparation and flavor with loads of real crab. Dinners were scallops and the crab stuffed haddock. Both excellent. Understand the wait time now, everything is fresh and made to order. Nothing appeared frozen or microwaved. Server was very helpful and friendly. Best food we have had in the area, glad we relocated close to this place so we can return again and again. Chef is awesome and the presentations are nice and the portions are large. Thanks to everyone there!
A delightful dinner destination. Wide menu, tasty food, attentive service. They were on a wait at 6 pm on a Tuesday after Labor Day. Make a reservation. The crab-stuffed haddock was excellent.
Table for three and service was fast and pleasant. Very knowledgeable with menu items and daily special. Bang Bang shrimp appetizer is always a must and did not disappoint. Crispy coating with bang bang sauce that has a little spiced heat but not five alarm. The fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was delicious. Shrimp tender and just the right amount of creamy sauce to cover the pasta and shrimp but not drown it. Others had chicken parmigiana sandwiches and both took home leftovers. Dessert was to go. Cheesecake and a peanut butter pie. Recommend both.
Always make it a point to eat here when up at the lake, and never disappointed. My husband had a delicious seafood combo and I had the balsamic chicken. Large portions , so always take home. Our server Rachel was great! Just a silly observation, but was so glad to see the bus person had different cloths to wipe off the table and the seats.
We have been coming to the Adirondacks for a decade and have passed this restaurant until just this year. My Bride and I have kicking ourselves for not stopping sooner. What a gem! You cant miss here. Massive portions. Very fairly priced. If you are heading deep into the Adirondacks then this is a must stop. If you are in Lake George then its absolutely worth the 35 min drive north. Thanks for a great experience
Oh my goodness! Hands down, the best meal we've had in this area, actually the best meal in a long time! I got the stuffed haddock with crab stuffing, Chloe's fries and sauteed spinach. I should've thought to take a picture right away but this was my left over. We had a special appetizer, cheesy garlic bread with sliced filet on top. It was the best garlic bread I have ever had! We all thought so! My daughter got the strip steak and scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly and they were big! But the steak, oh the steak, it is a strip steak, however it melted in our mouths like filet mignon! It was cooked perfectly and so beautifully seasoned we didn't need to add anything. Truly an amazing dish. The she crab bisque is just to die for, the sherry comes through but isn't too overbearing and it's wonderfully creamy. You just have to try it! Service was really amazing! Our server, Tori, knew every answer to any question we had, which was so refreshing! She was also very attentive and service oriented. They serve large portions and I'm serious when I say large. We got the Chloe's fries appetizer for my grandson with added chicken. It was big enough for 3 people! Also just an fyi, if you get the Chloe fries as one of your side choices it is also a very large portion. So one person could get it and have enough to share with others then the others could get a different side. They make everything to order, including all sauces like the Bearnaise sauce which was amazing! So make sure to put enough time in your schedule to eat because it takes a little longer than usual but is so worth it! If you are in the area, do not miss this incredible restaurant! And make a reservation as they are very popular and it can be hard to get in without one.
Party of 12 people. Reservation for 5 PM. Aging from 4-82 of age. We got there and our table was ready. We were waiting on 3 people waitresses served drinks while we waited. Waitresses did amazing tag teaming the table during the entire meal. Kids meals brought out before adult meals which was a great move. All the food came out hot and tasted amazing. The portions are lovely allowing for to go boxes and next day enjoyment as well. Bravo staff and management!
MAKE A RESERVATION! Very busy place, at least when I went. The staff here are the hardest working restaurant personnel I have ever seen. Tori, our server, was exceptional! Ordered the cheese tray with red wine flight, the She Crab bisque, and the crab stuffed perch. Everything was scrumptious! The bisque was over the moon good. I ordered the stuffed fish with the sauce on the side, which I recommend, as the sauce would drown the flavour of the fish and crab stuffing. Highly recommend! Worth every cent!!
Nice local restaurant with ample choices for entire family. Staff were very polite and accommodating. Locals seems to love this place since it's always crowded. Call and reserve to secure a spot. Ample portions with rustic ambience. Lots of parking on the side as well as on the street.
