Had the best espresso tonic I’ve ever had! Delish and refreshing, garnished with orange peel! Wife had a warmed flakey chocolate croissant and flat white! Both excellent. Sat out in the sun, walked around inside waiting for our drinks and looked at the beautiful surfboards! Highly recommend!

Grabbed a hazelnut iced latte to go, and it was fantastic! The coffee quality is top-notch—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself is a charming little spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or a pastry. Definitely coming back!

Brand new coffee shop! We were staying at the hotel across the street and when we saw this quaint little shop we knew we needed to try it. The coffee menu had just what we wanted, drip coffee, mochas and lattes. There is a cute little area in back with a table surrounded by an ambiance of a surf shop. Hours will be updated after the new year with a grand opening. Right now the owner has limited hours for a soft opening through the holidays.

Nice people, simple beach vibe, good coffee. For iced coffee people, the hollowed ice they use is perfect for getting coffee cold with maximum surface area whilst reducing the amount of water that dilutes the coffee.

Best Latte in Redondo Beach if not all of LA. I have to compare their latte to Stumptown, Stereoscope and Goodboybob. When I look for coffee I look for good coffee beans and creamy steamed milk. While all these places on my list have that somehow SleepySeal have topped it. Most perfect cup of latte I've had in a long time. I hope the shop owner continues his passion and therefore the quality of the coffee stays the same. I am obsessed with Lattes but next time I gotta try an americano to truly put it to the test. Anyways true coffee lovers will be more than satisfied😍

Sleepy Seal is such a gem of a coffee shop – cozy, warm, and full of character. The space has an artistic touch that makes it feel unique and inviting, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The Sleepy Seal was a cute little surprise! The coffee was great—even though the pastry selection was limited, the almond bites stood out, and the croissant, while simple, was still very tasty. I really appreciated that they had options for dietary restrictions. I usually avoid dairy, and they were able to accommodate that without any issue. They had about eight different flavor options to choose from. Overall, it’s a charming spot with very friendly staff. I’d definitely return!

I came in here while visiting home when they first opened. I am glad to see more options and a dialed in customer experience now that they've been around. The service is super fast and friendly. I usually just go drip and their drip coffee tastes great. This time I was stoked to see a couple of burritos on the menu, $6ish each or 2 for $11. The burritos are small but toasted to perfection and really tasty. The space is great for hanging out and enjoying or food or coffee but the beach also isn't a far walk either. This is quickly becoming my go-to coffee shop when I come back home.

Cool Vibe and Great Coffee ☕️but I had their great matcha 🍵! This place is a fantastic find a great coffee shop that's also a cool surf shop. The vibe is super laid back, and you can tell a lot of care went into the space. The owner, Dave, is really friendly and makes you feel right at home. I had a delicious cold matcha, which was the perfect drink for the day. If you're looking for a chill spot with good drinks and a welcoming atmosphere, this is it 🤙🙌

The coziest little coffee shop with coffee that actually tastes like coffee instead of sugar!! Seriously good coffee — got a vanilla oat milk latte and it had the perf amount of foam, sweetener, and such good coffee flavor. The owner was very chill and welcoming. I have tried A LOT of coffee places in the south bay and I think this is my fav. Will definitely be coming back :)

What can I say! This has already become one of my regularly hit spots during my week! You really grasp the South Bay and its entirety when you walk into this shop. Then you try the drinks and you have instant happiness. I’m a huge tonic coffee fan, and Dave has surpassed my idea of the perfect tonic. If you’re a tonic fan make sure you also try it like this: Espresso Tonic, lavender and a splash of cream. *chefs kiss* Sleepy Seal has also turned me into a latte gal! Best foam in the game. You will not be disappointed!

Lovely little coffee shop. I’ve been driving by it for a while and finally stopped in. I was happy to see they do flat whites and do them very well! It was nice and hot and the milk was super creamy. The espresso has a great flavor. The owner is very kind and personable. Wishing him the best of luck with the new shop. Will def return.

It's a charming little local spot. sitting on PCH, 5 minutes walking to the beach from its front door, Sleepy Seal hits on all the notes of a beach town coffee shop. Redondo itself doesn't really carry itself like a beach town like you'll find going south between LA and San Diego, but Sleepy Seal does. It's small, bright, warm, the staff are chill. It's a vibe. The seating is in the back and I could sit there for a fair bit studying or working. I wouldn't say its a hangout or coffee shop to talk in, but that's because there beach is right there. Why would you? I don't know if it was because of the day we went or what but the glass displays were all empty and made that portion feel a little barren. If they normally have baked goods or stuff in there awesome! We ordered the salted maple latte iced and an iced matcha. I'm not so much a fall flavor person so the seasonals weren't really that interesting to me, but I'll definitely come back to see what they have later on. The salted maple's coffee was great and the balance between the sweet and milk and coffee was what I look for. We sometimes forget, every coffee place is different, but sometimes matcha lattes come sweetened and sometimes they do not. This one was not. It was on the grainier side but got home and added some syrup and it perked right up! just need to remember to ask for that next time! Overall I'd recommend a visit. I'll be back when the seasons change to see what new things they have, to try their burritos, and to see the little seals they have around the place lol. Thanks!

Im not sure why there was a sour taste in all our drinks. I think the oat milk may have soured. I wasn’t sure if it was just me but my wife confirmed her drink also had a sour taste.

Extremely rude staff member, the girl with turquoise cap and short hair. I came with my double stroller with my sleeping infant and toddler and it would not fit into the entrance door. My stroller is a side by side double stroller that is made to fit standard doorways that are 30 inches wide. A kind customer offered to watch my stroller with my sleeping baby while I went in to order my drink with my toddler. The door is 4 feet from the counter. There were two girls working. I told them the stroller wouldn't fit into their door and the girl with the turquoise cap and short hair said ok what do you want me to do about it? I said do you have another door on the side or back that I can enter? She said no and rolled her eyes. The other girl took my order. Then I asked can you bring my drink outside to the table because I have to watch my baby and toddler in the stroller. The girl with the turquoise cap said no we are extremely busy and don't have capacity to do that. You have to come back inside to get it. I said ok. Then I waited outside. The other girl brought it outside for me. The salted maple syrup latte ($7.20) I got iced and it didn't have any foam top or anything special. It just tasted like a normal iced coffee with syrup. The apple juice was I got for my child was martellinis but it was plastic and it was $3.36 which is even more expensive than an honest brand apple juice at sweetgreen which is $2.25. The apple juice wasn't even cold. I would say to go across the street to Tot coffee. Their door fits strollers and their staff are kind and their coffee is better. The door should be a standard door size to fit a normal double stroller. I have been to tons of coffee shops with a single door opening that fits my stroller like Starbucks, tot coffee, ups store, Otto tea shoppe etc. does this door even fit a wheelchair? It should be accessible and made a little wider. It's about 3 inches too narrow. I'd like the owner to contact me about his extremely rude staff member and correct her to treat customers with Children and strollers nicer to accommodate them. It's not my fault you didn't design your door wide enough to fit a normal stroller width that is designed to fit all normal doors. This makes me question if the door is ADA compliant (32 inches wide). The door should be a standard door that is 30-32 inches wide. My stroller fits all standard doorways. This not only limits me but disabled people in wheelchairs. Even the workers at Klatch Coffee down the street have been nice when I had my kids and dogs and said they don’t allow dogs inside beside service dogs but can take my order outside and bring my coffee outside.
