A wonderful experience! Cozy atmosphere, extremely fresh and delicious food beautifully presented. Professional service
Oceana Coastal Kitchen – A Perfect Anniversary Dinner in a Breathtaking Setting For our five-year anniversary, my husband and I dined at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, and it was everything we could have hoped for. The restaurant is nestled inside a gorgeous resort, and although we didn’t stay there, we were able to make a reservation and enjoy the incredible atmosphere. Our server, Adam, truly made the experience unforgettable. When we asked if he could take a picture of us, he didn’t just snap one at the table—he enthusiastically said, “Come on, let’s take a field trip!” and led us to the private beach so we could have the most stunning backdrop. His kindness and energy set the tone for an incredible evening. Beyond his warm hospitality, Adam was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us through our choices and offering thoughtful suggestions. We started with a half-dozen oysters, and the accompanying sauce was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Pad Thai with Adam’s recommendation to add chicken, along with a Mai Tai—he loved both, even declaring the Mai Tai the best drink he had during our entire trip to San Diego! I opted for the tuna steak, and the ravioli it came with was nothing short of stunning. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The setting itself was a dream. The resort’s lobby and lounge area were breathtaking, with cascading waterfalls, koi fish, and lush tropical plants creating a serene escape. As the evening cooled, outdoor heaters provided a cozy warmth, and beautiful lights twinkled around the space, setting an enchanting mood. To top it all off, a live musician played classic tunes, adding the perfect soundtrack to an already magical experience. After our meal, we took a peaceful walk along the private beach, enjoying the beauty of the ocean and reflecting on our wonderful evening. From the exceptional service to the outstanding food and stunning surroundings, our anniversary dinner at Oceana Coastal Kitchen was an experience to remember.
We just enjoyed a lovely dinner outside with friends. We required special accommodation due disabilities and they were very helpful. The brown butter scallops are really good. My wife enjoyed the chicken teriyaki- and everyone else enjoyed their food. The setting outside by the water is perfect. Be sure to get a reservation. Pictured are the brown butter scallops.
Visited during restaurant week. The skin salmon with spam fried rice was incredible. Service was friendly and food came out promptly. Outdoor seating area is cozy with really nice views. Chocolate pistachio tart was cherry on top. Make sure to validate your parking if you’re not a guest at the hotel.
Great atmosphere, directly at the waterfront ⛱️🌴 outside seating. Inside seating possible. Small but very delicious menu. Quite expensive but it is adequate for what you get. Awesome desserts 🍪. Service was OK, not extraordinary but friendly and quick.
We went for a walk in sail Bay on a beautiful cloudless day in October. When we reached the catamaran we saw everyone sitting out in the patio and the breakfast looked great! We decided to stop and they happen to have a table out front. We ordered the eggs with bacon and it came with potatoes, we also got the yogurt and granola parfait that was beautiful, and the steel cut oatmeal. Everything was delicious, service was fast and friendly. The menu had great variety and we will definitely return.
This is a perfect place for a very elegant and sumptuous breakfast. The price is on the higher side but totally worth! The View is awesome! We stayed at Catamaran resort and going to this place was a no brainer.. I keep coming back to this place every year when I come to San Diego . I guess sometimes you can’t get enough. Love this place. Great staff and server. They are incredibly smart and like what they do. Love their hospitality !! Keep it up guys!!
Loved the Christmas Brunch and Cruise! Would definitely recommend for any San Diego visitors. We didn’t have any kids with us and it was still a nice activity. They separated the floors so that the main events (Santa, face painting, balloon characters) were on one floor and the kids crafts were on another. Alcohol is sold separately. Staff is friendly and make easy conversation. The brunch included everything from seafood to fruit. The brunch is all you can eat and self serve, but you do have a waitress that takes care of drink orders. They are great at clearing your table of plates to make room for your next round of food. I enjoyed the French toast and breakfast sausage. We also loved that they included crab legs. Recommend getting there a bit earlier as the crab legs do go fast. We also loved the omelette bar! It seems they have a champagne brunch often, so it can be enjoyed year round (without the cruise). The carolers moved throughout the boat so the Christmas spirit was everywhere. The food was very good and there was a wide variation. Also tons of activities to do on the beach (bike rentals, huge beach chairs). We could’ve spent the whole day here! Definitely a day activity to explore.
Great experience that won't kill your wallet. Had the Rosemary Olive Oil Bread and Pork BBQ Ribs for starters with filet mignon and mash potato puree for me and teriyaki chicken for my wife. Was outstanding and David was Great. Can't wait to go back again, especially for the ribs!
We went to this place because the Google menu said they had local sea bass, which would have been caught locally there and wanted to try it. Called ahead and found that they did not have sea bass, nor was it on their current menu, but they did say they had oysters. We ended up getting the last five oysters there. Ended up having fancy fish which I split with my friend. The bottle of wine recommended by the server was great. Service was excellent.

The food here is incredible! We went two nights in a row because it was all so great! Los of good options for sushi. Amazing entrees. Being gluten free and dairy they did a great job having those options on the menu and then also accommodated to substitute other things to fit what I needed. Made it an all around great place to eat for dinner. It was also fun watching the fish go around in the fish tank while eating. Great location in the bay too.
Neil (our server two days in a row) made this a 5 star experience all around. Always with a smile on his face and willing to accommodate any request. He’s warm, easygoing and an absolute delight. The view isn’t too shabby either — be sure to sit outside :).
If i could give the customer service a 10 star i would Adam went above and beyond made dining for me and my one year old fun and he made sure we were taken care of!!! Food was delicious too!! Will definitely be coming back!
An upscale restaurant within the Catamaran resort. The view and ambience is beautiful. It is by the bay and has a lovely beach vibe! The food was good though would have loved to have some more options. We stayed at the resort and had dinner there twice and breakfast each day. The staff was friendly and courteous though at times it took a while to get them to come and take our order.
We were wanting to have a special, nice dinner while vacationing at Pacific Beach. This place was a short walk from where we were staying so we decided to give it a try. The setting is stunning! Great view looking out over Mission Bay. The service was good; our server was very friendly but she had a couple other big parties so we did have to wait a few times. It was a bit tough to find something on the menu that sounded tempting. I settled in the Bouillabaisse, but it was kind of disappointing. It wasn't as flavorful as a Chioppino. My daughter ordered the whole snapper expecting to get two filets, but to our surprise it was the whole fish. It was amazing! So tender and moist. My only suggestion would be to provide a side of the glaze they put in the fish to dip the meat further in. All-in-all, it was a very nice dinner, but very pricey as you might expect.
Was looking for a water view for dinner and saw this place pop up. Started with a tea based cocktail which was amazing and perfect for the slightly chilly evening. I had the seafood risotto which tasted fine but thought it was odd that I had to both deal with mussel shells AND shrimp tails to eat it. My wife had the pasta and same shrimp tails issue with hers. The prices were fairly steep for what felt like better than average fare. Also be prepared for seagulls to come pretty close up while dining. Had to shoo a couple away.

Delicious food and nice ambiance. Heat lamps ready to go on the patio. Cocktails are strong. Look at your receipt closely and if you have a party of 5 or more tip is already included as a service charge.

I usually don’t write bad reviews but I had really high expectations for this place.. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted something nice. My boyfriend ordered the scallops and those were great! However I ordered the salmon with curry sauce and the portion was so small for the price! I was expecting more sauce if the salmon was gonna be small but it was really lacking. Our server was mid and I felt like the attention to detail wasn’t there. She never came to ask to refill our drinks and left the sauce from the appetizer on the table till we left. I seen more attention to detail from the busser. Personally for the price I feel like it wasn’t worth it! The best part was the view of the fish tank.
Right on the bay. Located in the catamaran resort. Limited menu. Went for mostly breakfast. Hostess was almost never there. Waitresses and waiters were limited to the service was slow. They would miss giving us some of our smaller items like drinks or jams. But would do so after being reminded. Heaters outside. Plates start at mid $20s.

This was, without question, the worst steak I have ever tasted in my entire life — and I’m honestly shocked something this awful made it out of a kitchen. Our server Margarita was wonderful and didn’t deserve to serve a dish this tragic. The steak was so bad it felt like an insult: tough, flavorless, and cooked with zero care. I didn’t even know a steak could be this catastrophically bad. The only thing edible on the plate were the fries — and thank God for them, because the steak was an absolute disaster.
The service is decent, especially with the concierge lady. The food is absolutely diabolical I would prefer to say. Steak is way too salty that enough to burn my taste buds. Bad cooked chips with oily buns dressed with sour cream.

This place serves the most bland breakfast at resort prices. The service is horrible and slow. It took them 30 mins to take our order and then another 30 mins for the food to arrive. Just to note, this wasn't even during a time when they were full or overbooked. There was no stirrer provided for the latte and no butter and spread for the bread. These are simple things especially when a place charges resort prices. Will not return.
I don’t know how a place can wrap itself in palm fronds, ukulele playlists, and fake tiki torches and still miss the single most basic obligation of Hawaiian comfort food, but here we are. A Hawaiian-themed resort restaurant that doesn’t serve loco moco is not a “creative choice” — it’s a travesty. This isn’t some obscure regional curiosity. Loco moco is the dish. It’s the soul of local plate lunches, the edible shorthand for “you’re in Hawaiʻi now.” And yet this restaurant somehow found room on the menu for over-priced pineapple garnishes, watered-down mai tais, and fusion nonsense that feels like it was brainstormed in a mainland boardroom, but not a single scoop of rice, burger patty, egg, and gravy in sight. The irony is almost impressive. They commit fully to the aesthetic — grass skirts, surfboards on the walls, staff saying “aloha” on autopilot — but abandon authenticity the moment it matters. It’s cultural cosplay with no follow-through. Calling this place Hawaiian-themed without a loco moco is like an Italian restaurant refusing to serve pasta because it’s “too expected.” If you’re going to charge resort prices, at least respect the cuisine you’re pretending to celebrate. Otherwise, drop the Hawaiian branding, serve your generic resort food in peace, and stop insulting anyone who knows that loco moco isn’t optional — it’s fundamental.
