Always a pleasure. Great service. Great food. The Gluten free Turkey and Cranberry sandwich is amazing with a side of fries or a side salad. 😋

Delicious food and down to earth service. Wouldn't ask for any more than that. Had the Chicken and Avocado salad, the Home Fries and a Chai shake. Will definitely eat there again when I'm in town.

I LOVE Ellie's Mutt Hut & Vegetarian Restaurant!!! You simply just cannot go wrong when ordering anything from their menu. The food is so delicious & flavorful!!! My personal favorite, is the Chicken Caesar Salad!!! It is DELICIOUS & for a salad, it is full of flavor!!! Pro: Delicious food, the staff is very friendly, always on their toes checking on the customers & seeing if they need anything. For the most part, the establishment itself is pretty clean, during downtime the staff is always picking up. Con: I would have to say that the only negative thing is the space. Ellie's is an old & small building w not much room for seating, so accomodating large groups is not very likely, but I have heard of plans to expand & am eager to see how it all turns out!!!

If you like breakfast, as much as I do, you need to try Ellie's! They serve till early evening, but I'm a regular for breakfast. Always consistent, great flavors, selection, ingredients, service, & locally owned and operated! Can't be beat!

Had a great dinner after a long drive. Veggie wrap, hot dog, and taco salad were all really delicious. Even though we were just passing through town this place is an obvious gem in Ukiah. The staff was also incredibly pleasant and warm, which makes quite a difference when you’ve been traveling all day.

As a child one of my earliest memories is coming here with my grandma as a treat. Fast forward almost 40 years and it's still special. If you're not vegetarian don't let that fool you. They have something for everyone. The french fries are perfect. Get them with everything else you order :)

Love going to Ellie's! We ride motorcycles up there 3-4 times a year if not more. The best Butternut Squash Soup ever!! Friends enjoy the vegetarian options and I get BLT.

Always a great place to grab an arguably best sandwich in town. Staff is friendly, and helpful. Setting may be some what cramped at times, and that is because they have amazing food and are consistently busy. They do offer outside seating, and will bring you whatever you order, and yes they offer take out which I highly recommend in case it is busy. They have some special sauces I am not sure what it is, but it is yellow in color and makes whatever you put it on taste spectacular. Would recommend to anyone that likes a great sandwich. The one I always get is their marinated grilled chicken sandwich, yummy! The are a coffee house, so offer all sorts of coffee, cappuccino, lattes, your heart desires. Central to the town of Ukiah, easy to get to, and search on Google maps. Parking, they offer a parking lot, and because they are on the corner of a street and main boulvard, have plenty of extra places to park on the street next to the cafe. If you have not tried it, now I'd the time if your close by, your welcome in advance. Just remember to try the marinated grilled chicken sandwich, it will create a new craving you never knew you had before.

Stopped on a road trip for breakfast. Great food and fresh squeezed orange juice. The home fries were a little salty but I ate them all so there you go 😁. Restrooms were very clean too.

I absolutely love the Mutt Hut. It's my favorite restaurant in Ukiah. Their Butternut Squash Soup is the best I have ever tasted. Their BBQ chicken salad wrap as well as their club sandwich are also two of my favorite dishes. There has never been a time where I've been unsatisfied with their food or service.

I wasn’t expecting much when we went inside, thought it would be a generic, mediocre restaurant, but I was surprised! Dishes that I thought would be so so, like chicken and pasta, were great and had unique flavors. Waitress was very nice and gave us recommendations as we were visitors to Ukiah. Would recommend.

They have a separate Vegan menu so be sure to ask for it. The vegan tacos were delicious. The staff was young but were all working hard and getting the job done. Food came out quickly and was hot and fresh!

Love Love Love Ellie's Mut Hut! Super delicious, friendly, fast, clean! Their chicken pasta salad is incredibly delicious, fresh with jicama! Although it's extremely busy every time I've gone in, it's well worth the not long wait! Always professional and super friendly staff! Love this place! Highly recommended 👌🏼 ✌🏼

Staying in Ukiah for a couple days meant trying out all the vegetarian friendly restaurants. Ellie's was delicious. We came in on a Sunday morning, and didn't have to wait to be seated. The inside was quite comfortable, and many of the diners seemed like regulars. Our server was fast, friendly, and polite. Looks like they have outdoor seating in the back, but it was cool when we got there so that area seemed closed. I'd love to come back and enjoy that seating!

Great food, great service, lots of vegan options-- they even have a vegan menu! Ellie's has been a classic here in Ukiah forever. It's always a great spot for a quick meal or a relaxing visit with friends.

It was really busy so both the woman taking the order and I could barely hear each other. Had I known what I wanted beforehand I would've ordered ahead for pickup. Not the business's fault everyone was talking so loudly though. I began to get overwhelmed with anxiety so I stepped out and a waitress came outside to accommodate me, give me my change, and assure me that my food would be taken out to me. That was the best service I've had in a very long time, considering I'm the one that very likely could have appeared rude.I was just trying not to have a panic attack, inside, in front of everyone. They have the best carrot cake I've ever tasted in my entire life.

I left Ukiah over 18 years ago, but this place is one of the few things I miss, especially the tofu scramble. I’ve begged to have it shipped to me overnight (frozen, dry ice, FedEx, bulk purchase stork delivery….any way possible) and they said they can’t do it. I’d eat it every day if I could. My daughter recently visited Ukiah and brought me back a tofu scramble on the plane with her. I stretched it out for 2 days and it was everything amazing it always was even after all these years. I wish they’d open locations in central TX, and they’d be packing folks in, but would be worth the wait!

I’m writing this review because im so tired of hearing that young people are not doing their jobs, for the last 25 years, there have been mostly young people (16-20) taking orders @ the counter, otherwise there was a Lady that worked the breakfast for many years, She is no longer there, but she was very fast and efficient. I have never had a rude or unprofessional or disrespectful encounter with the employees, they are very pleasant and helpful, even if you ask for changes to a meal for preference they are always accommodating. As a cook and prep cook, waitress and baker, i would like to congratulate ELLIE’s on their dedication to employee appreciation and staying open during the c19 pandemic and always doing their best to provide a healthy and Lovely food and dining experience. Thank You ❣️

I had just enough time for a quick early dinner, but it had to be good...real good. So I asked around as I walked down the busy sidewalk, where's the best place to get a home-cooked style dinner, I ask 4 separate people as I walked along, and every single one of them said "Ellie's Mutt Hut" And... that was good enough for me! Ellie's gets 5 stars, and they didn't even try hard! ☆☆☆☆☆

Ellie's Hut in Ukiah is consistently fantastic! I always go for the chicken and brown rice with yogurt…it’s a perfect combination of flavors and always hits the spot. The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure. The menu offers a great variety, catering to different tastes, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend checking it out! Today I opted to hit up Ellie‘s for breakfast and got the Bobby’s breakfast burrito, which was super good!

Delicious chilaquiles, average french toast. I was about to give this a bad rating when I noticed breakfast was supposedly only served until 11 (I detest it when restaurants have a random cutoff to stop serving certain dishes; seriously, WHY?), but whee waiters were super friendly and accommodating and still took our order for chilaquiles and french toast even though it was after mid day. This fact alone is principally responsible for my 5 star rating! :-)

Such a cute little place. They have amazing food. My favorites are Chicken & Brown Rice, Chicken Linguine and my all time favorite is their Butternut Squash Soup. The soup is one of a kind, it has very strong pepper warm sensation but is also kinda sweet. I've bought the same soup else where and it's never the same and is trash compared to Ellies. The employees are always kind, it's very clean and a great atmosphere. Oh yes also their blackberry and peach cobblers are amazing as well.

Ellie's Mutt Hut is just a couple of blocks ahead.. he tells me, then he says.. we'll stop there and get the BBQ chicken...it's the best between SF and Garberville. Well, I was getting fuel in Eureka and this bubblehead asked me for a ride to Ukiah, said his mom's in the hospital there and needs him to take care of her dogs. So, I patted him down for drugs and weapons..he was clean, so I said okay, but watch your step or I'll end it for you right then and there, as I showed him Lil Thumper. We pulled into Ukiah and this Brain Surgeon wouldn't shut up about the chicken from Ellie's...this and that, and every which way but Sunday about that chicken. He already told me he didn't have any money, so I bought him that chicken...he was right, probably for the first time in his life..that chicken was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆

This place is insanely good and fantastic service. The menu is extensive but it was all simply delicious. We went for lunch at the last minute. Very casual but so enjoyable. We had chorizo tacos, avo chicken salad and one of their special recipe Johnny cakes for something sweet at the end. Very reasonable priced and generous portions. For good American and Mexican food with a casual but authentic vibe, look no further. Catalina was our server and she gets a 10/10. We loved it!

For those of you who are EMH virgins, know this: there is no better all-around home cooking spot for breakfast & lunch for 50 miles along Highway 101 between Cloverdale and Willits. Ellie’s is super well-staffed, which means customers are greeted, helped, and served in record time. Plenty of comfort food (sausage patties, flapjacks) + healthy food (tofu scramble, avocado toast) for breakfast, ditto for lunch. Outdoor shaded patio dining means there’s space for well-behaved dogs. N the bathrooms are ADA accessible and clean. This is a big-time locals hangout, and the prices reflect both the region (reasonable plate prices) yet are not cheap (coffee is $3.50 , fresh-squeezed OJ is $8.50). But the coffee is refillable — we were given a thermos — and the OJ was fabulous.

The vegetarian restaurant for both vegetarians and meat eaters! My wife and I stopped in on a whim and we were very pleasantly surprised about the food. The menu what is simple straightforward. We really enjoyed the big spud. The tofu was surprisingly good. The spices really made the dish. My wife had extra vegetables on hers and the grain was really well cooked. We also had the tortilla soup and the broccoli soup which was very tasty. To finish it all off I ordered the blackberry milkshake which had real blackberries in it. All in all a very enjoyable and affordable meal. I would highly suggest going if you are in Ukiah.

R

The food here is good in general, fairly quick and they use healthy ingredients. Some of the dishes are just OK but many are excellent. If they had more gluten free I would rate it better.

Originally I came to this place back in 2014. I had a negative experience which led to me posting a negative review. However, now in 2020, I returned to this restaurant because I have more vegetarian friends than meat eaters and the service has improved drastically in a positive way since! I tried the dish that originated my first review and it was amazing! Since then we’ve been going to eat here every other Friday and am still trying new dishes on the menu. If you had a bad experience a while ago and haven’t returned since. Give it another shot.

Good food. They used to have the best french fries in town, but they changed them recently. Would have been 5-stars but I had to deduct one for watery milkshakes.

R

This is a good place for a quick lunch, they have been open as long as I can remember. Order at the counter and service is normally quick but they can get busy at rush times. I like the club sandwich. They also have smoothies that are pretty good, I don't think it's organic though if that's what you are looking for.

I really enjoy the food here. Favorites are: a Reuben sandwich, chicken and rice, and their marinated chicken wrap with fries. They also have mimosas sometimes which is nice on a weekend morning. The only downside is that sometimes they don't answer the phone when you call to order, and also the hours are a little weird/short on the weekends.

c
cindy russo

Great food. I had the veggie wrap. It was tasty. Veggies were fresh and the dressing was yummy. They ran out of the usual wrap they used with this sandwich so offered me an alternate of my choice. I would have given 5 stars, but the service was a bit slow, and my co-worker never got the soup he ordered.

My husband had the vegan Rueben and I had the mushroom spud. Both were very good. My only critique would be it needed to be warmer. (The food) Their restrooms were in a separate room so you needed a code and they were the cleanest restrooms I’ve ever been in.

M
Mark Sponseller

Average salad with disappointing dressing. I ordered the salad plate with chicken. It was a cold plate of vegetables, including raw broccoli, with a little cup of too-sweet corn starch-laden dressing on the side. The chicken had a decent flavor, but there wasn't much of it. And as far as I could tell, nothing was organic.

I loved this place in the past but 16 + for the bbq chix wrap and it was mostly lettuce and smaller. Chicken still tastes great but not worth the cost barely any avocado , no side either . Disappointing

M

3 stars because I've had a pleasant meal here in the past. More recently its going to be a NO! From raw potatoes, to old veggies in my omelet, to the most ridiculous looking and tasting Huevos Rancheros I have ever in my life eaten. I mean so ridiculous that I would like to see it removed from the menu. Not sure why it's gone so far down hill. I feel horrible to even leave this review, but what used to be a nice and refreshing place to eat, is just no more. Not to mention that almost every single time I've gone service has been horrible. Breakfast for 3 ran us $73.00, not including a tip 😑.

S

Food is good. The marinated chicken has the best flavor. I'd avoid the cheeseburger, the bun is bigger then patty and really just a normal burger. Wait times for dining in and takeout are long but worth it for some dishes.

I ordered my old favorite from. years ago, the tofu avacado sandwich. Not much avacado, and the tofu did not have much flavor. Shredded lettuce--was that new? Unripe tomato...of course it was twice as expensive, no big surprise. Oh well...

Was told 15 to 20 minutes for pickup. Arrived 15 minutes later, paid fir my order and waited another 15 minutes. Finally went up to counter to ask about my order, tuned out it had been on their counter the entire time. Love the food, but won't be going back anytime soon.

I've been eager to try this place since moving to Ukiah, as it has come highly recommended. I finally got a chance to stop in this week. In a word: disappointing. The vegetarian Reuben I ordered was probably the best thing to come to our table, but it was mediocre at best, with most of the flavor provided by the sauerkraut and little more in the way of taste or texture. My wife's brown rice with tofu sounded good on the menu and I almost ordered it myself, but when it arrived it looked so unappealing I was glad I hadn't. It consisted of chunks of tofu and overcooked vegetables on a bed of rice, all smothered in Greek yogurt (the other option was sour cream), and it tasted about as good as it looked. My son's hot dog was a withered wiener covered in shreds of unmelted cheese. There may be better options to be had here, but after this maiden voyage, I'll be seeking my mutts elsewhere.

I have not been here in a couple of years. I really used to enjoy this place for breakfast and lunch...not now...Wow...Terrible! I was getting my car worked on for a warranty repair and had the shuttle driver drop me off here based on my past experience. A sign on the door reading 'Cooks wanted'...Agreed! Young waitresses were friendly and attentive...2 stars rating...otherwise...huevos rancheros I ordered were smothered in a salsa where I could taste nothing else...Horrible! Someone put a small pot of salsa on my plate with huevos hiding somewhere beneath...Cooks Wanted! Place used to be packed...on my visit myself and one other table! The word must be out...Adios!

What happened to Ellies?! I don’t recognize anyone. The waiters are very young. We sat outside, first table was eating and she finally took our order. Everyone came after us we’re eating. We got skipped. Finally the food came and it’s not quality food. It was gross. Not the quality I’ve been used to. Looks like Apple-bees. I’m pretty upset. I took my mother there and she says she won’t be back ever. Get your old staff and cook and save your business. Bad news travels fast. I think my super expensive meal should be refunded.

W
Will M

I ordered the biscuits and gravy breakfast with ham, an extra egg, and a vanilla latte. Ellie’s forgot to include the extra egg that I paid for, and the gravy was the kind you get out of a can. Nothing seemed fresh, or made from scratch. I won’t be eating here again. To be fair, the latte was pretty good.

Elizabeth Florido

Usually we love this place. It's one of my favorite places to eat but today my boyfriend and I went. I ordered a hot pastrami and he ordered the French dip. We waited 30-40 min for our food to come. And mind you it was slow only like five tables in the place. Well when our food cake than was one slice of meat in both our sandwiches that was it. And our friend came late. I was very dissatisfied today. I love this place and I hope that it will be better if we try it again.

J
Jenny Beaman

I was overcharged on 2 separate items. I showed the waitress the amount listed on the menu & was told ice tea is considered a fountain drink & cost more. What? It doesn't even come out of the fountain dispenser! That was 25 cents. The other item was over by 50 cents. After pointing out the discrepancies, they refunded only 25 cents. Poor customer service in my opinion.

D
Dave

I give two stars because it is a nice place and nice service but poor food. I was very disappointed in the food. I don’t plan to come back ever again. The Johnny cakes I ordered the edges where burnt to crisp and other parts of the cakes where burnt also the scrambled eggs with cheese they put in a microwave to melt the cheese making the eggs hard and the cheese rubbery. And my kids french toast was ok but their bacon had no flavor and the orange juice we both ordered was room temperature and I was stunned by the $ 8.50 price for each drink.

L
Lynn Sallee

Normally a great restaurant, but today really awful. Other tables seated after ours received their food first. My husband’s scrambled eggs were over hard. My hash browns were home fries, which I would have eaten anyway, but they were ice cold. Pouched eggs were hard boiled. Such a disappointment!!!

I moved to Ukiah 2 March 1986. The Mutt Hut was the first place I ate upon arriving. Their menu of hot dogs and polish were amazing and kept me coming back twice a week for many years. Now, 36 years later, I might dine here twice a year when visiting from out of town and sorry to say we've both gone down hill. To be fair, my wife's chicken avocado salad was a masterpiece in every way. But the items that started it all - the hot dogs and polish - are a sorry shadow of what they used to be. The polish bacon cheese dog was barely as advertised: a skinny polish that was dry and lacked classic polish flavor; maybe a tablespoon of finely shredded cheddar, two pieces of tomato heel and one dark, crispy, thin, lonely piece of bacon (there were also two additional quater-sized pieces too). But there was an abundance of yellow mustard. Other than being a Mutt Hut customer, I actually owned and operated my own hot dog business as the Hot Dog Guy in neighboring Lakeport, CA from 2013-2015, serving a wide variety of premium dogs and polish while offering 27 toppings and other dishes too. My point is simply that I know about serving quality product with passion. Ellie's seems to have lost both. I'll be back to Ellie's, but never to eat a dog. Times change, but if you can't do something well then why do it at all?

The food is good, but the service is terrible. The staff members are polite, but sadly incompetent and slow. The business also exhibits what I would consider unethical, shady business practices. Once our food was delivered, our waitress never came back to check on us. We waited a long time and essentially felt abandoned. The table next to us was the same. The waitress delivered the wrong order to a couple and never came back. After being unable to get anyone's attention, the husband eventually took his wife's plate up to the counter and asked for the correct order. We had to go up ourselves to get a take out container and pay. When we did, the lady flipped the register tablet asking for a tip... Here's where it gets shady. On the tablet, it gives you 3 big button tip options going in what is typically reverse order everywhere else: you can either tip 25% (the leftmost option), 20% (the middle option) or 18% (the far right option). Then at the bottom is a much smaller option for custom tip. I bet a lot of seniors and visually impaired people push the 25% button thinking they're choosing 15%. Plus, I'm pretty sure the waitress charged us incorrectly. It seemed to be more expensive than it should have been. After waiting so long for any service, I didn't raise a fuss and ask to see an itemized bill, I just wanted to leave. We'll never return.

First time here and never again. Honestly the only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one because of the service, our server was so attentive, nice and awesome plus the location is kinda convenient the food was not impressive I ordered tofu and rice platter ($11) it came like a casserole platter that you would get from Denny's. It's was brown calrose rice, chunks of salty soft tofu with bunches of sad looking broccoli, carrot and mushrooms top with choice of sour cream or Greek yogurt (I did ask for yogurt) melted cheese and spring onion. The taste was far beyond gross. My son had bacon cheese hot dog $5 he also got sad pathetic looking bun with hotdog tiny thin sliced of bacon and again unmelted cheese with nothing else that come with no chip or fries My husband has veggies Ruben sandwich $11 which he seems pretty enjoy it I honesty never ever experienced plain, simply made sandwiches this price that served without fries. Honestly for the price and the quality of food it doesn't really worth it most of the dishes have the same ingredients blop of sour cream, shredded cheese and green onion. The way they present the food is like someone that too lazy to cook. It was so unfortunate that we live so close, from reading all the positive reviews from local people we hope that this place might be our favorite place to eat but turn out to be the biggest disappointment.

Went for lunch and it was quite busy. 3 different waitresses saw us come in, didn't acknowledge our presence at all. We then proceeded to sit at a table. 3 sheriff officers sat down behind us. A waitress immediately came over to them and took their order. We left after sitting and waiting for 10 minutes without anyone taking our order. Worst customer service I've experienced there.

I've gone in a few different, each time I've been disappointed. First time I ordered a baked potato; veggies were both over cooked and cold and the baked potato was burnt. Second time I ordered a veggie burger and a soda; the burger was so cold the center was still frozen and there was so much ice in my soda that I'd wager there's less than half a cup actually in the Mason jar they serve it in. Third time I ordered a Johnny cake and hot chocolate; the Johnny cake was burnt and the hot chocolate wasn't even warm and so watered down it just tasted like milk. Tonight I ordered a veggie burger and hot chocolate; my veggie burger was so difficult to eat due to how they construct it but it was at least a little warmer (not hot enough to melt the cheese on top but at least it wasn't cold) but the hot chocolate even though hot this time was still just got milk which is just a huge disappointment. The person that came with me tonight also ordered a Polish dog, a Johnny cake, and a soda; he said he didn't like that they rolled it up basically smashing the bun into a flat bread, soda was all ice, and he never received his Johnny cake. The good things they have are fries and milkshakes, but so far that's it.

Wife and I stopped by today for a quick bite, and each selected a Hut Dog. After 20 minutes the dogs were delivered, buns soaked through and disintegrated upon opening wrapper. I found the experience depressing considering the prices. Due to a rapid approaching appointment we left a $20 just out of courtesy and the remains of two poorly presented Hut Dogs. July 17, 12:05.

I ordered a single sandwich to go during my lunch break, and I had to wait over 40 minutes for my sandwich. There were people who arrived after me, sat down, ordered, got their food, and finished their meal by the time I got my sandwich. It was a good sandwich, but I should have just left because that made me late for work.

As locals we’ve eaten at Ellie’s sometimes more than once a week...however, that just ended. The quality of the food has always been good while the service can be iffy, as in food served cold...but today was something else...perhaps it isn’t fair that this is in the middle of a pandemic, we’re all in isolation and restaurants are doing takeout only. I imagine that business is way down but that does not mean the quality of the food should also go down...the salad was not fresh and the brown rice was nearly inedible. I hope when we all return to normal so will the quality of food at the Mutt Hut. We’ll be on hiatus until then.

I love their organic tofu avocado sandwich. My first visit made me want to go back the second time today. We got our drink order but no one came to take our order since we were sitting next to the parked cars. I saw plenty of cars coming and going. Finally i went inside to order and got my own water and silverware. The food finally came. OMG I noticed something off but couldn't figure it out. We were too tired from our vacation to notice. The tofu slice was on the thinner side. Lots of lettuce. The tofu spread was there. Coming home which is now 7 hours later. I remembered what was different! They forgot our AVOCADO! Brain started to remember the missing ingredient! How awful! Never have i gone to a restaurant in my life and ordered something and the main, important ingredient was missing. Wow, this is the first! Congrats to Ellie's, you will always be my most memorable restaurant. I took a picture to proof it! No avocados!

I have eaten here several times great BBQ chicken salad.Lots of friendly staff. BUTT...today we ordered a single hot dog for our grandson...nothing but the dog it's self...they charged us almost 7.00 for that single dog. Reminder don't make adjustments from the menu.

First off I witnessed one of the staff members for the kitchen drop a cart full of vegetables on the ground next to my car, she then picked them up and hurried them into the restaurant. Something like vegetables that have touched the ground especially during this covid pandemic should have been tossed in the trash not brought to the kitchen. The service is so so, it seems like they hire unskilled teenagers that lack the ability to comprehend what good customer service is. The food taste like it was dropped on the floor, then sprayed with Lysol and placed in the dish, ghastly taste and has made me sick to my stomach. This place was good about two years ago. I rather of rated it -5 stars.

Ordered a $64 breakfast thru DoorDash and only got half the order. Called them and they said they messed up and the other half would be ready when I got there as I was not going thru DoorDash again. Got there and had to wait 15 min for the other half. I’m all for supporting small businesses but I felt we were taken advantage of by only getting half of the order delivered. And why are your prices so expensive? Not very happy with this place right now. Be careful ordering delivery from them. Very sad to experience this.

Horrible experience. My food was OK (tofu, veggies and grains). My son had a French dip with two very thin pieces of meat both of which had zero flavor and my niece had a veggie burger, the patty barely covered 1/2 of the bun. It was more expensive then our meal at the Ukiah Brewery (which was really good, fresh, filling and great service)! The service at Ellie's was a joke. 3 kids standing around chatting after our food was served we were never checked on and had to ask for our tab. Living on the coast I came here often and always had great food. It's gone down hill and we will not return.

This place is gross. They let people with dogs inside. Lady was petting her hairy dog as I watched the dog hair go all over. Manager did nothing about it and said they are pet friendly. Sorry..it's a food establishment and pet friendly is different then someone having a disability dog. This was not the case. I will never go back there again. Plus they have children working there that have zero sense of Urgency. Gross!!!

Food is alright, not first time they get my order wrong and make you feel bad about it when you let them know.

Ate here with my senior dad right before we were planning a trip out of town for Father's day weekend. He got terrible food poisoning from eating the Tofu and Avocado salad with dressing, and had to go to the ER. He has COPD, which got aggravated by the food poisoning. He could have died if he didn't get medical attention. I called to tell them what happened, they took my name and phone number and said they would tell the owner, but I did not receive any call with even an apology. Seems very cold to me. Will not eat here again or recommend this place to anyone.

I have eaten here for 20 years. I used to eat here on a weekly basis. I took my husband here yesterday, after not eating here for a few months. The food was sub par, not like I remember it. The lighting was dim and the staff was not trained on how to correctly use the ordering terminal. They took 30 minutes to bring us our food and we got there BEFORE the lunch rush. People that had arrived after us, were getting their food before us. We ordered simple dishes and they completely screwed it up. Our food was cold. I could go on and on. It seemed like a lot of people were working, but nothing was getting done. The quality of this place has gone WAY down. I would love to see more care go into the training of staff and attention to professionalism needs a boost too. So sorry to have a negative word to say about one of my old favorites but, this place needs to step it up.

I ordered a dish and received something entirely different. I was presented with a plate of undercooked and very dry grains with super oily mashed tofu and then another type of super salty tofu squares (so salty the roof of my mouth burned after two bites) on top of that. No veggies as mentioned unless the sprinkle of garnish counts to the chef. It wasn’t good. Wasn’t worth eating. The waitress took my plate when I told her it wasn’t what I ordered and i wasn’t going to eat it. I told her why. And then hit us with the check for it despite the restaurants mistake! Waste of money. They promote themselves as a vegetarian friendly restaurant but don’t understand plant based food. I’ve been served dishes with accidental chunks of bacon in them, dairy when I said no dairy, etc. it seems they always get my order wrong despite ordering direct menu items. I don’t think we’ll be going back again. This was my last straw.

Ordered online , ended up having to wait an extra 20 minutes for my food then the food showed up literally just thrown in the box like no one there cares

Im going to have to assume the 5 star reviews are from locals that are friends of whoever runs this place. I was initially excited to find a place that has foods I can eat with my food allergies, I didn't mind the prices were pretty high I was planning on paying a little more... Had the food been even okay I wouldn't be writing this review but everything from the food, to the service to the atmosphere was really bad. The waitress was rude and did not give silverware or napkins. Did not come to check once during the entire time dining did not refill drinks nothing, when she came to give the check there was an issue with the food (which she would have known had she checked even once after she brought the food) she didn't remove the item from the check even though it wasn't eaten or offer to make anything else she swiftly took the plate and stormed away (like I was trying to scam them and actually going to eat it or something even though the item wasn't even removed from the check) I wouldn't come back here again. There were diners next to me I heard them get their check, surprised it was 80 dollars for 2 people. Forgot to mention, sandwiches which are not remotely good, and over 10 dollars are not served with fries or anything else.

Had breakfast there this morning. The best part of it was the coffee. I ordered the biscuit and gravy breakfast with home fries on the side. The gravy was so salty I couldn't eat more than two bites, my wife tried it and said the same thing. The bacon was under cooked and soked in grease. The egg was cooked properly but had no seasoning. The home fries were just sliced red potatoes, that tasted like the dirt they had been grown in. I've had good food there in the past, but I won't be back for more. If your wanting breakfast in the Ukiah area don't waste your time at this place.

Disappointed every time I go this time there’s hardly any lettuce in my Caesar salad that cost me over $20. What’s going on

I’ve gone to Ellie’s several times now and I like there Johnny cakes but since they were out I ordered the breakfast scramble and it was drowned in freeze dried broccoli and old carrot slices. Would not recommend.
