This will be my new takeout Mexican spot! I’ve been struggling to find authentic tasting Mexican food for years. Their rice and beans are filled with flavor, the fish tacos are incredible & I was obsessed with the medium salsa. Even the chips are perfectly salted with a thin crunch. The staff was also super friendly. I can tell they really care about the food and experience. Will definitely be returning!!

This is my go to spot! Ive had the Birria tacos twice, but my favorite go to is the carne asada bowl! My son always gets a burrito. We love it! The staff is so nice and the restaurant is always really clean. @Gisselle

Underrated! Underrated! El Gallo is one turn away from the busy restaurants near the Manhattan Bridge lookout, and it was the perfect spot. The food was fantastic where we enjoyed a beer and margarita while enjoying our lunch. The staff made us feel extremely welcomed and appreciated. While we were eating, we saw people debating coming in, and we were silently rooting for them to come enjoy the amazing food, staff, and atmosphere. Always rooting for this place and want to go back!

El Gallo is truly a gem! Everything I’ve eaten from here has been delicious & reasonably priced! (Especially for DUMBO) the drinks are also really good! They also have a great happy hour! It’s 2 tacos & a shot for $15! Will definitely continue coming here, it’s so worth it !

This was our very first time trying Mexican food, and it was such an amazing experience! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious - especially the tacos (we tried two kinds) and the quesadillas. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced. A special thank you to Denis, who made the experience even better. He was so friendly and attentive, and he really helped me pick out exactly what I wanted. His recommendations were spot on! Overall, it was a wonderful introduction to Mexican cuisine for us, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! 🌮✨

El Gallo is a perfect lunch time spot for when you're craving Mexican and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I thought the carnitas burrito was good and checks off all the boxes. Although I think the portions could have been a bit larger. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area

Fast and good. Not many taco spots around dumbo. Go to green point for some fire tacos you tourists.

Food was good, service was poor. 30 minute wait for 3 tacos and a burrito after 4 others in our party were served within 10 minutes was not the best experience (and we ordered first!!). We inquired several times about our order and got no updates or apologies. Do not recommend if you’re in a hurry.

Someone told me this place is good. So I order on Uber Eats. The taco chicken was cold and defrosting smh. It was like someone took the chicken out of the freezer and thrown it on the grill before defrosting first properly. Maybe I caught them on a bad day lol. But still, you take people money. Make sure you do the job right. I was looking forward to some good tacos. I had to trash it.
