She is super warm and friendly; did I mention everything she serves is of the utmost quality. There is a reason why so many people travel far and wide just to meet this lady to sample all her creations.

I have been meaning to stop by to grab a gyro or platter for some time, as I love Mediterranean food. So much traffic in Astoria so I went today since it was raining and figured there would be less people and cars. So glad I did. I ordered a chicken gyro with double meat and fries, souvlaki lady sauce and chipotle mayo sauce on the side. I had mine to go. This is by far the best tasting chicken gyro I’ve ever had. The chicken had a char-grilled flavor I loved. The sauces were so good. I can’t wait to stop by again.

Simply delicious, and affordable! When walking by the very small and unassuming truck, it doesn’t quite give off the idea that this food would be amazing, but it is! The lady here has been making Souvlaki for 30 years, is very kind, and happy to modify your order to your preference. I recommend the Souvlaki Lady sauce on top of any platter.

While researching places to visit, I noted a neighborly quality about the @souvlakilady in her interviews online. This observation proved to be more true than I anticipated. As I caught a glimpse of her cart parked alongside the road, my mouth began to water at the prospect of my first taste of streetside souvlaki. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly dwindled when I realized she only accepted cash as payment. While standing in utter defeat, I was sincerely touched when she decided to disregard my lack of cash and provide me a skewer at no cost. Let me tell you...it was sublime! Prior to that moment, I couldn't imagine a simple stick of pork could improve much beyond what I make at home, but I was wrong. So grateful for my first experience with Greek generosity and hospitality - ευχαριστώ, @souvlakilady!

All I can say is amazing every time and that hungry lady is a monster if you're hungry and want a fix try that hungry lady. And the chicken and pork sticks are a hit and the prices can't be beat, whatever they use to season the meat is amazing but I just say everything on it all the time 😂.

All I can say is amazing every time and that hungry lady is a monster if you're hungry and want a fix try that hungry lady. And the chicken and pork sticks are a hit and the prices can't be beat, whatever they use to season the meat is amazing but I just say everything on it all the time 😂.

That may have been the best chicken pita I've ever had. I got the $9 chicken pita with all the normal toppings with spicy sauce on top. It was perfect. No notes.

decent fresh food. definitely ask what is included in the order tho. i got the souvlaki lady for $9 and thought there would be fries included as it said fries in the description, but i just got a medium sized sandwich. still good, but i don’t know if i would’ve driven all the way out here for it. maybe for the lady. she was nice 🙂 * EDIT: i approached the cart a few min later to add some sauce to my sandwich, and she piled on a few fries. +1 star for Souvlaki Lady!

This place is a landmark institution in Astoria and it doesn't disappoint. It is cheap and affordable with a high quality. People still line up to get food from here. I will have to return to try some other items than the chicken. But they were worth the trip.

This place is a landmark institution in Astoria and it doesn't disappoint. It is cheap and affordable with a high quality. People still line up to get food from here. I will have to return to try some other items than the chicken. But they were worth the trip.

I ordered a Burger Deluxe and didn’t care about the 15-minute wait. The problem was when I asked if they could cut it in half so we could share it. Instead of a normal response, we got attitude and refusal to honor our request: “It’s only $8, and it’s small.” The tone was unnecessary and honestly pretty condescending. We just wanted a quick taste of the old days - apparently that was too much to ask. The owner was right there, and when we explained what happened, there was still no apology, no acknowledgment. Just - “Do you want it or not?” So we walked away. Lefkos took great care of us for a quick snack, and then we went on to dinner at Stamatis, where the service is always warm and we happily spent a couple hundreds.
