This was our first time to eat at La Casona and it was a pleasant surprise! The building was clean and welcoming. Our server Micah was great, also very welcoming. We had a few special request that he quickly said would be no problem. The food was fantastic! We will definitely return when we are in the area. I will be sure to recommend this place to anyone near Bay City. Keep up the good work and give Micah a promotion!

They have authentic Mexican food! I love the Mexican tile they have at the location the waitresses are very kind and willing to adjust your order as needed. I highly recommend this location to all my friends every time I go to Bay City I stop by here. If you live in the area or passing by please give this place a try you will not regret it. Really friendly and very accommodating. Restaurants clean, the restrooms are clean. The food is delicious and perfect sizes to fill you up. The staff is very kind and always vigilant. It's also wheelchair accessible, that doesn't effect me but it's very important for those it does effect.

First time here for lunch. My date and I reach had a house margarita it did not disappoint. The homemade guacamole comes smooth and chunky. We ordered the chunky which was fabulous. Entrees were served in a timely manner and service was great. Definitely coming back!

The family affair went with laughter, precision, and was very affordable considering we took up 1/2 the restaurant. The waitress was wonderful and knew what she was doing. The staff worked seamlessly as a team making the entire experience like no other! Have you ever had 8 children in a restaurant without issue... go to this place it is amazing.

I was greeted promptly when entering, and wanted to sit at the bar. The host walked me straight to my seat immediately, sat me at the bar, and introduced me to the bartender, “mama.” Mama took great care of me, never let my cup run empty, made great suggestions, and had great conversation. As long as mama is here, I’ll keep coming. The food was incredible. I had the nachos sabrosos, and the portions and quality are unmatched. Thanks to la Casona, and SPECIAL THANKS TO MAMA!

When we’re out of town fishing, grandkids’ track meet, junior livestock show, we look for a La Casona for our Tex-Mex fix. Never disappoints!

Great service and good food. Drinks glasses never fully empty before being offered a refill. Ask about the other sauces. Family oriented place so if you don't like to hear other people children, pay attention to where you are seated.

I will definitely come back. I ordered the stuffed avocado it was definitely the best even the amount of cheese and beef in the inside was amazing. I will definitely make another trip out here. The staff are on point on the service and are friendly.

La Casona in Bay City is fantastic Tex-Mex and beyond! The menu has a variety of traditional Tex-Mex faves, along with more traditional Mexican recipes, and kid-friendly items as well. It's reasonably priced and the service is fast and friendly. I definitely recommended La Casona!

This is a very nice establishment with gracious host and excellent wait staff. Our early Sunday morning visit (10:30) was perfect! Our selections were quickly prepared and delivered hot and delicious. The shrimp stuffed avocado was a good choice but the shrimp stuffed Enchiladas Alexander with crawfish gravy was the best. I believe I will have to revisit before leaving the area. Always a crowd but ample parking... most of the time. Tip your wait staff well, enjoy life, and be blessed.

We decided to check it out since we were looking for place that served drinks and seafood and we were not disappointed we were seated promptly even though it was peak time and our waitress came to get our drink order I had a Dos X and my wife had a Skinny Margarita. My wife ordered the chicken enchilada dinner 3 tortillas stuffed and rolled with shredded chicken topped with queso with a side of rice and charro beans, I ordered a Shrimp Cocktail Monterrey juicy plump shrimp in Clamato juice with pico topped with avocado very tasty cool and spicy, they have the standard salsa and chips but I asked for their green salsa which had some fire yet flavor to it our server checked on us frequently made us feel welcome even though it was busy we will definitely return .

I’m in town for work and decided to check this place out when I noticed other reviews about Tacos Al Pastor. The service staff is very friendly and almost everyone speaks both Spanish and English. The michelada I ordered was your basic restaurant style michelada. I prefer that the rim the glass with salt instead of Tajin but that’s just my preference. The table salsa are below average in my opinion lacking taste as well as spice. I asked for a green sauce and boy was it different. It’s an Serrano based salsa that’s very spicy and delicious. It paired great with my tacos. The Tacos Al Pastor come with some Mexican rice and Frijoles Charro. The tacos to tortilla ratio was a little lower than I like but I’m not going to complain. The taste of the meat was delicious and juicy. The queso fresco they add is a nice touch. Judging by the cut of the meat I can tell it’s not Trompo style but still worth ordering. The next time I’m in town I’ll eat here again!

WOW! My family was in town from San Antonio and we were amazed with how good this meal was. All the meats were tender and delicious, rice was actually moist with chunky carrots, beans were great, margaritas were decent (frozen were stronger ;) ) and the Chile relleno might have been the best I've ever had. So happy and full. The waitresses were fantastic too. Food came out very quick. We will be back

Everything was so delicious! The watermelon margarita and the strawberry margaritas were refreshing, the nachos were great, the fajitas were fork tender, and the flour tortillas were some of the best homemade tortillas I’ve had in a long time. Our waitress was awesome and the restaurant is very nicely decorated. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back the next time we are in the area.

What I like about this place is they have ice cream machine and once you get in or out you can have your ice cream cone service is really fast everything it’s neat and clean. They’re really nice. Food is great. I asked for a margarita. Oh my God I love them. The Michelada’s are great too when they sit you down at the table right away they would take you some chips and salsa. They’re so so great.

We can't get near Bay City without stopping to eat here. The food was great as always! I had their beef enchiladas and my husband had their daily special. The food was served quickly and hot. The only complaint was the service was a little slow. We had to ask for more chips & salsa and when we finished with our meal we had to wait to get our check. We were not there during their busy service time (2:00pm) so I would have thought that would make it easier to provide the excellent service we usually get.

The agua de horchata is machine made, and more watered then homemade, but it's still good. The tacos de Carne asada (a.k.a fajitas) were amazing! The Golden chicken tacos were... average.

The food is good but not five stars. The tortillas do not taste authentic and they use Velveeta cheese in the enchiladas. However, the atmosphere and service are always on point.

Food was great but service was pretty poor. Maybe the best bacon wrapped shrimp I've ever had and steak was delicious as well and cooked right. Only complaint was out waiter left after our food was served and we fell between the cracks and didn't see another waiter until it was time to pay. Again, food was delicious, better than most all Mexican restaurants I've been to.

I like how they serve the warm salsa roja with chips. The salsa verde is spicy but really good too for the tacos😋 I think ice cream is free but honestly after all the food I could not eat dessert.

The cup of soap that they gave me was good as well. The guacamole wasn’t spicy they could of added more jalapeños, but that’s just me.

2nd best Mexican / Tex-Mex in Bay City. Good hot food. Freshness in every bite. Complimentary chips and salsa. On point and almost to the point where no salt needs to be added to the good food. Adult drinks are poured well and made even better. Would come again in a heartbeat

This was a decent little texmex place. They cooked everything to perfection. The steak was seasoned well, as were the fajitas. The tamale was really good too. The queso was spicy in all the right ways. Both types of salsa were good. The chips were just OK since they were bagged. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.

I sat on the patio today because it was lovely out. My server was quick to greet me and take my order. After that, things kinda fell apart. My food (a salad) was out quickly along with my drink. After about 15 minutes I went inside and asked a young man to please notify my server that I needed chips and salsa. ( She stated she'd bring them when she brought my salad out). After about 5 or more minutes passed, I called the restaurant phone and asked them to send her out to the patio. She finally came with another gentleman who acted annoyed that I wanted chips and salsa but by this time I really didn't care who was annoyed. In the end, all was made good but it was a little less than a pleasurable experience today. Definatly not the norm for this establishment!

Was in the large room for lunch in a corner. The room was fairly full of diners, and the sound level made it impossible for the five of us to talk. The front room, if you turn right immediately upon entering, is smaller, and is generally quieter. Definitely the place to go. If I was in that room I would have given it a higher rating, but if you get in the large room, as you go straight ahead after entering, if there are lots of other diners, you will have a big problem with noise levels.

The shrimp enchiladas wasn't the greatest. The crawfish tail meat tasted old and very rubbery. The waitress took forever to come take our order and never checked on us to see how the food was. Only the busboy to refill our drinks. The place wasn't even slammed.

I felt like just eating the whole thing and spitting out the shells. They looked awesome being in the shell, but it was a terribly difficult dining experience. I hope they abandon that. I'm optimistic that if you stay away from the seafood that it may be a better place.

I didn't care for the enchiladas verde. I honestly could not eat them. The rice was edible. The waiter lied about the sauce on my husband's food, saying it was a white, creamy sauce containing sour cream. When my husband's meal arrived, there was no evidence of the sauce that the waiter had described on his food. Next, the waiter offers to bring more of the "sauce," neglecting to tell my husband that there would be a $2.00 charge for a 1 oz. cup of "sauce." When the so-called sauce shows up, it is just melted butter. My husband mentioned this problem to a circulating female restaurant employee, and she didn't address the problem at all, nor educate the waiter of his mistake. When a manager was called to the table at check presentation time, she did not display friendly customer service skills. We only asked for the $2.00 charge to be removed. The manager did grudgingly remove the $2.00 charge. We will not return. Travelers take note that the restaurant appears well liked in the community with many cars surrounding it and new looking signage.

Ample parking. Plenty of tables, even though the front parking lot was full. Food was OK. Service was mediocre. No smiles from anyone working there. Hostesses (there were 4 people standing up front) were busy talking and acted as if us walking in interrupted their conversation. Felt as though it was an inconvenience for the staff that we were there. Didn't ask for anything special or substitutions. I will not be returning. Would prefer to drive to Margarita Jones in West Columbia!

Stopped and got pick up with my parents tonight. We have been here before but thought it be nice to go out since I’m in town for thanksgiving. We got quesadillas that had almost no meat. Each one maybe only has 2 small pieces of meat and the rest is just cheese, some were only cheese. The ones with chicken had no taste, like it was freezer burnt and not seasoned at all. The cost is way too high for such a low quality product. Very very disappointed.

The food is decent but it's not worth the screaming kid. Every time I have come here, there's kids running, screaming or throwing food. Management Andrea/Amber says they can't help it since kids are kids but what they don't tell you is that's her friend's kid. Don't come here if you want to enjoy dinner in peace!

Went to eat some crawfish and it was horrible , most of them were overcooked and tasted like dirt . A lot of straight tails in with them and they were too mushy (overcooked) to get out of the shell . Do not get the crawfish .
