Just went this past weekend wanting to start it off with a bang! Yes it was busy but my server Alex made sure I had a blast. He started off with some suggestions of drinks and food. I went with all his suggestions and when I tell you he came through, he definitely made sure my day became a party. Thank you Alex! I’ll be coming back very soon.
Super relaxed atmosphere with great servers. Food is always great with happy hour being ALL day Sunday and Monday it's a good go to. It can get loud in the bar area but they have a nice outside patio area. And the elder gentleman who brings Salsa and chips everytime I go is amazing. Hes so sweet and helpful and efficient!
We hadn't ate at one for 14 years so it was a nice treat. Still great salsa and chips. We kept it simple and had a chicken quesadilla. Good simple meal and good service!
Normand was the best bartender I’ve ever met. We have been at this restaurant previously, and although he only helped my wife and I only once, he totally remembered us and knew exactly what we always drank. I was very impressed and he is excellent!!!!!! I truly mean that.
We come here a hand full of times a year (whenever we're in the area). Sarah A. is hands down the best bartender we've ever had. They're generally good bartenders, but she's top tier! 12/10.
My cousin and I had a great lunch with ample portions which allowed for a snack later :) Our server, Rachel, was amazing! She was so friendly and patient with our many requests that the time was even more enjoyable! The grilled shrimp tacos were yummy and the sample platter was delicious! Can't wait to go back!
On The Border went above and beyond accommodating 20+ people for my father's surprise party. They did an amazing job! I was weary at first considering I've never really planned a party. The manager Lucia did a fantabulous job suggesting between buffet style and making a more personal limited menu so the price range was a little more reasonable. She was so awesome and knowledgeable... also very patient with me/us. The entire staff was! The waitress was beyond amazing that day. It's definitely not easy tending 20+ people simultaneously and she was awesome! Handled our crew with patience and poise. My dad had a great surprise and the family really enjoyed themselves that evening. I am very appreciative of their service! Thank you On The Border!!! I would throw another party here any day again!
Best food, service and their atmosphere. I'm definitely going back again and again with my loving family
Carlis R. Was terrific!! Answered questions and was helpful with menu. Got the shrimp honey Chipotle with corn tortillas. Super yummy and served hot. Also had the lunch with empanadas and enchilada. Again served hot and very good. Carlos R. You made our afternoon meal so great. Thank you!!
Attended a birthday gathering for my adult niece, large group. Our waiter was amazing, everyone's order was correct and he stayed on top of the drink requests and kids special requests. It was festive without being too loud. We could carry on conversation around the table. Food was tasty and met our expectations.
Great dinner, the fish tacos were delicious! Our server was very friendly and the manager made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
Always good food. Our favorite Mexican restaurant
We were in town for a wedding and stopped by for lunch. Great patio seating with plenty of options on the menu. Service was good, location had plenty of parking.
AlwaysA great choice for mexican food and margaritas love this spot.Go in and try it out.You won't be disappointed
We went for happy hour. It wasn't very busy, as graduation was going on in town. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly, and margaritas were strong. I'll be back for sure
I had time in between clients popped into on the border for dinner. As usual great food fresh hot quick to the table. Waitress was a delight to work with.
Such wonderful memories and such a bit of nostalgia for us. We moved out of San Diego for about 8 years and after moving back we hit this place up because we used to always go here but we couldn't remember what exactly for. As soon as we were in the door we totally remembered, the brisket tacos! The staff is amazing and it's definitely a cool place to hang out and let traffic die down but while you're there you definitely have to hit some of these brisket tacos up. Once you've had them you'll come back again and again.
Great Happy Hour👌🏼🏁 Servers do a great job! Sarah, afternoon bar tender/cover all services 🔥🏁🔥 Thank you On the Border🙌🏽🤙🏽🏁🏁🏁
Jason!!! Was on point. Great service, music and the thin chips are awesome 👌 👏 👍🏼 AND THEY USE REAL SKIRT STEAK!!!
Great food and drinks, amazing customer service. Sister’s time got a table close to the bar and TV’s and we were able to have a nice conversation. Plus there is a lot of free parking since is in the same parking lot at the mall in Escondido. Take advantage of their happy hours 😁
Food it’s ok, drinks are good. Service, ambience and prices really good. I highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing service from our server Melissa, and her support staff Anastasio and Javier!! Manager Cesar was wonderful! Our food was top notch! Everything was delish!!
I recently dined at On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina in Escondido, and it was a delightful experience! This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy authentic Mexican food. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was fantastic, though it did take a little time to be served. However, that was perfectly fine, as we were happy to wait for such delicious offerings. One highlight was the guacamole, which is made fresh right next to your table—what a fun and interactive touch! I highly recommend On the Border for anyone craving Mexican cuisine. The combination of great food and friendly service makes it a wonderful dining choice!
My wife happened to get a gift card from work so we decided to go out for dinner. Neither one if us had ever been there. We were hoping to have a out a 30 minute wait since we were going out around 630 in the evening. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to get seated immediately. A waitress came to our table within 2 minutes and took our drink order. I got a Coronarita and my wife stuck with water. The drinks came out super fast and gave us just enough time to order. I got the ultimate fajitas, my wife got enchiladas suizas and we ordered nachos for our toddler. We also ordered a queso dip as an appetizer. The food came out faster than expected and was delicious! Of course my wife picked off my plate since I tend to choose the better food, lol. Overall it was a great restaurant and we will definitely be going back even if it's just for drinks, buy list likely we'll split the fajitas!

We were there for happy hour and sat on the patio. Service was good and food was ok. I thought the meat in my tacos was extremely salty.
Tasty carnitas, barbacoa tacos with friendly and efficient service.
Had a very 'Happy Hour' with a gal pal. Service by Sarah was friendly and quick. Margie's were big and strong. And though we split the half order of nachos and the sampler platter, we could have added several more people to our table. Come hungry,. Leave happy.
Food is good but not notable. The server was generally available but was overdue a few times, perhaps due to too many others he needed to take care of.
Hard to find an on the border around san Diego now. But on the way back home from the San Diego Safari Park we saw this. No way it's still open!? So we drove up and to our surprise it was. We decided to go in and have a bite. Took them a while to seat us and it was busy. More people to serve then they had servers. But they did a good job with the workers they had, they were very friendly. The food was good, definitely not the best Mexican food you can have. But brought some good memories from years ago. We ordered a couple beers and the queso and guac for an appetizer. The queso was just regular nacho cheese but good. I got a combination plate that had 4 items and rice and beans and girlfriend chose the pick 3 items. Combination plate included: mini chimichanga, hard taco, green chicken enchilada, and a red cheese enchilada. Pick 3 included: rice and beans, green pork enchilada, chile relleno, and hard taco. Out of those items our favorites were, the beans, chile relleno, cheese enchilada, pork enchilada, and the hard taco. I would definitely go back if where in the area and want a quick Mexican meal and have a bit a time on our hands.
Not authentic Mexican food, but a good alternative. It falls more inline with commercial grade America Mexican food that we all know. The food had a slightly bland flavor that was easily remedied by a little salsa they bring to the table when you first sit down. The service was quick and the decor was basic, but fun. The chips they brought to table were a bit bland and stale. I sure do miss the large hand cut and fried ones they used to serve. Over all... Not bad, but a lot of other options for really good authentic Mexican food just right up the street.
Update: Dealing with food allergies appears to be server dependent. Our server tonight was very patient and double checked various dishes for jalapeño content for me. I was able to eat without disaster, which is great! OTB is always reliable. The happy hour menu is great. Being allergic to jalapeños makes it challenging to eat in Mexican restaurants in CA. However, I expect the staff to be willing and able to check wuth the kitchen to be sure my order is safe for me.
I took my mom to this restaurant simply because of the cute cantina appearance on the exterior. It was in a word: inviting. I hoped that the service and food would be as nice and make us want to return again in the future. Oh, and it was. As soon as we were seated, we were presented with a bowl of chips lightly salted, and our separate bowls of salsa. Or should I say, “Spicy hot salsa?” Yum!We sat for a bit longer than I preferred before our orders were taken, but once Jesus was aware of our presence and desire to order, he was on it. He made sure that we were completely satisfied and made a few rounds just in case we wanted anything at all. I like that. The food is 70% of what a review is all about, right? So let’s talk food. It was scrumptious! Absolutely inviting and a pleasant party in my mouth. We ordered the Border Queso Beef Enchiladas. My mom got ground beef that she was in Heaven with. I got shredded beef, and let me tell you, they did not skimp on the filling. I’m attaching a photo to show you just how filled those soft corn tortillas were. We got our money’s worth and will definitely be there again for that plate of wonderful. We ordered Pineapple Rum Punch drinks. Don’t be fooled by the great flavor and no aftertaste of alcohol. There is rum in there, but such a perfect blend of flavors that you’ll want another. I only had one because I had to drive, but man I wish I could duplicate that at home! I loved it. In the end, if you visit this cantina bar and grill, you will be like us… you’ll want to return in the very near future. The food was well worth the price and the service was good. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is the limited offering for wheelchair accessible persons. The hostess had to figure out how to best seat us, and placed us at an end table, removing a chair. Had that table already been taken, I’m not too sure where we would have sat. Doing this limited the walkway, but did not block it, so I was okay with it. Visit this place and tell ‘em’ TC Freebird sent you. It may not get you a discount, but the plate is worth every dollar. I am proof of that. I never finish a plate of food. I get full fast, but I killed that plate! The rice and beans were perfect, which I’ve not been able to say about other cantinas. And the enchiladas? I’m telling you, you’ll scream out loud in joy before you realize what you’ve done. Delish!!
Everyone was very nice, we got seated right away and we were a big group. The queso fundido and empanadas were really good. The enchiladas weren’t that great. The grilled chicken plate was okay. I’d get it again without the tomato sauce on top. Maybe just pico. The veggies on the side were good

My first time at this location. My in-laws and I were disappointed by the service although the staff was nice and the food was good when it arrived. However, serious lack of awareness regarding our order. We waited and waited until we asked our waiter and he had absolutely no awareness of the fact that our food was late. I guess he thinks that's not his job. 45 minutes for three people in a restaurant that wasn't crowded. The manager tried to say that one of the members of our party ordered a special item that confused things. This is total BS because the item was on the menu as a choice. 45 minutes and nobody knew until we brought it up, incredibly poor. And of course like other restaurants do, they bought us off with a discount. If you go there be aware that you have to look out for yourself as no one else will.
We had an average meal here the other night. The food was good, the service was slow but friendly and the atmosphere was ok. Nothing was terrible about the meal but nothing special either. We ordered the enchiladas suizas and 3 sauce fajita burrito. The food was ok.
Probably the most mid-tier Mexican restaurant you can go to. I absolutely don’t agree with their prices, last time we visited I got a tiny grilled chicken breast on a plate with veggies, rice and beans, for $20. Their fajitas were also skimpy and overpriced. Both dishes had almost no flavor. Can’t eat their chips and salsa because the chips are fried in common oil, so they’re not true gluten free corn chips. I think even fixing that would earn them another star from me. Just an okay restaurant overall.
Service was really, really bad. Had to ask for iced tea 4 times before getting it. Server got 1 off 4 orders wrong. Carne asada taco and pollo asada tacos were ok. I've never had chipotle mayo put on my tacos and I wasn't a fan. Waited about 45 minutes for it group to get 7 tacos.
When they get it right it's very good. Unfortunately they don't always get it right. Ordered a soft drink and it tasted of disinfectant. Server brought me another and it was the same way, decided to stick with water. Food came out and mine was cold, had to be sent back. My wife's meal was to come with extra onions and peppers and it did not. They were quick to get some to her but she was halfway through her meal by the time they arrived and mine was still not back. By the time my now very hot meal arrived she was finished. The staff were nice and helpful and apologetic about the situation so we appreciate that.
It was alright, probably won't go back. Empty salsa dishes and food plates kept piling up. Was really surprised that we had to ask for more salsa when it was all gone and we still had most of our chips. Salsa dishes hold just a tiny bit of salsa. Food was acceptable, but not memorable one way or another.
When I was a child I used to have dates with my mother to this restaurant (Mission Valley location) often so I thought this would be a nice place to have lunch with my kids. Not so much. When I called to ask about the wait, I was told that they had available seating and I wouldn’t have to wait. Upon arriving there I had to wait about 10 minted to be acknowledged. There was a family of three in front of me with a young toddler. The mother asked to be seated in a booth and asked the hostess for a high chair, the hostess proceeded to tell her that she could not have a high chair because it would block the walkway and was overall rude and not very accommodating to this family. When it was our turn to be seated, she barely spoke to us and proceeded to squeeze through my child and the host stand without even saying anything. I had to pull my child back so she did not get trampled by this lady. Once being seated the visit got better, our waitress was very busy so I wasn’t concerned that it took her a little bit to come to our table. Once she did, the visit after that went well but I would say that this location may not be very family friendly or at least that’s what it seemed like in my experience.
We felt very rushed. We would probably have ordered another drink but she brought the bill almost as soon we put our forks down.
It was what you'd expect but service was terrible. We had to constantly flag down our waiter for utensils, drinks, refills, the bill. It was quite annoying asking for the bare minimum.
The rice was tasteless. My enchilada was good. Red sauce was just spicey enough.
Quality of food very iffy..pure acerage of food on the plate only growing with rice and beans..protien was minimal..drinks and service good, not great
My husband and I are at times craving Mexican food. The Escondido location is convenient. Three stars is my average grade for an average chain. Over the last 10 years, both food and service have been both good and bad. But we still go back and hope for the best 🤣 . We eat early to benefit Happy Hour and meal deals and we usually sit in bar area but occasionally go to the dining room. Both have TV viewing and never a wait for table.
I like the food, but I wish Escondido would optimize their ability to take orders for carry-out. This location does not take online orders, and when I call, I’m either put on hold indefinitely or no one answers the phone. I imagine they must be understaffed, which is too bad.
Honestly $71 for what we ordered and received is almost laughable. 3 of us ate and I ordered a mixed drink and queso. My chicken was likely butterflied and cut in half . The portions are sad. For $19...give me the breast not half the breast. Just now noticing a "surcharge" of 3.5%. What's that for? Covid relief? Inflation relief? Please!! You'll price yourself out of patrons. Friendly staff and food tasted decent but not sure I'll come back. There is no value and the surcharge is a slap in the face.
Service was poor. My food was cold and not edible. Waited for more than 10 minutes for a refill on water. Had to ask for happy hour menus multiple times before getting them. Then we were told you could not order from the happy hour menu unless you were sitting at the bar. This despite the fact that we had a party of 20 people and were spending quite a bit of money in there. Messed up one of my kids orders so she had to wait longer. I will say that we were not charged for it which I give them credit for. But I would rather pay for quality service and quality food in a decent time frame somewhere else then to go back to On the Border.
After spending a long & hot day at the Safari Zoo, we wanted some good Mexican food. Due to the social distance, they have outdoor seating and very minimal indoor seating in the bar area. Once we were seated, we waited about 35 minutes before noticing everyone around us was being served, except for us. We asked for someone's attention and they were clueless and rude about helping us by saying "I'm not your waiter." The manager shortly came and took our order and apologized because apparently our waiter was too busy to take our order. The manager continued to check on us and even offered to buy us dessert, but we were not impressed by the food nor by the customer service of the rude waiter. The manager gets 5 stars for HER great customer service. The waiters and food get no stars from us.
Seemed like we were bothering staff to done here. Food showed the same disregard for customers. Cold rice and beans, no tortillas for nearly 10 minutes after fajitas came out. Sat by hostess station, tried to get her attention, were ignored. Food had no seasoning. Only thing with seasoning was salsa - bland bland bland. Not worth the $80 for 2 adult fajitas and a kid's quesadilla. Not going to be back. They don't care about customers at all. Too bad, used to be a fav spot to go.
Service in the bar was terrible, and it wasn't busy at all. Our main dishes came out before the appetizers. Out of the seven of us, only two really liked the food. A few of us had margaritas and asked for tajin rim instead of salt. When we got the bill, we noticed they charged $0.50 for the tajin. That is pretty ridiculous and chincy. The server should have mentioned the extra charge for it, especially since it is the only place I have ever seen that changes extra for a garnish.
Wait staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't like anything shown on the menu or what I am used to with other locations. Plates were dirty to the point where I put napkins on the plates and ate on them. The server should have noticed this when placing them on our table. Food took quite a while to come out which is usually fine if the quality was there. There was a dirty table (prior customers food) that remained untouched the entire time we were there. Unfortunately I won't be coming back to this location. To me this seems like a lack of proper staffing and care.
Service started out good with quick chips and drinks, but then went downhill from there. Took a long time to get our main dishes and salads were completely missed. When food finally come out, it was cold and we had to wait for place settings. To top it off, the waitress continued to be inattentive and didn't comp anything. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because it was clean and drinks were good.
Only have it two stars because the chips are delicious otherwise it is not quite authentic. Nice bar set up. Good for large groups.
We went for happy hour and spent over $50 for minimal food, overpriced cocktail's and $10 beers. There are many restaurants in the area with happy hours that offer a variety of food options and actual “happy hour” prices for alcoholic beverages. The options at this restaurant are limited and alcohol very overpriced.
I will not go here again. The food was bland and service took 50 minutes (not the waitress’s fault) but said the kitchen was backed up. The restaurant was not at all packed probably at 25 percent. The brisket tacos were gross. The meat was grisly with big fat chunks and tons of grease. The barbecue sauce on the top was disgustingly sweet and did not have any flavor. The rice was dry and flavorless. The only thing I really cared for was the black beans. It was highly overpriced.. This place has gone downhill and it’s really sad because it used to be a decent place to go.
This was a major disappointment. We have not been into "On the Border" for a few years. Every time we drive by they are busy... but we like small family owned restaurants more than "Chains". But we remembered how great their chips and salsa was... so we gave it a try yesterday. We started with a BORDERITA®, Lunazul Reposado, Gran Gala orange liqueur and fresh citrus sour. LIMIT TWO... because they have more Tequila in them. We swear... you could taste a hint of Tequila on the first sip... then none. It was a terrible margarita! And... the flavor was terrible too. They brought the chips... and they are nothing like the the ones we remembered and loved. The new chips are super thin corn tortillas cut in quarters or halves. They are large chips... but bland. The Salsa is still very good. We both ordered the SOUTHWEST COMBO. It has a Southwest Chicken Taco, one carnitas enchilada and a mini chicken chimi smothered in Border Queso. Served with Mexican rice and choice of beans. After a 35 minute wait... Sarah returned to the table to tell us that they had lost our order in the Kitchen... but... they were rushing it and it was being cook now. 20 Minutes later... the food arrived "Cool and Coagulated". Sarah apologized and said they were removing one of the meals from the bill for the delay. And they did. Certainly if hot the food would have been better. But even served Hot it was a poor excuse for good Mexican food. The Chicken Taco had fried Onion Rings in it. Not a flavor profile that worked for either one of us. The Carnitas enchilada was the closest thing on the plate approaching edible. But... the cheese on top was no longer hot... and it was coagulated. The Mini Chicken Chimi had no chicken in it... it was cheese. The Queso that it was supposed to have been smothered in... was served on the side... it was tasty... but coagulated with a skin on the top... and not even warm. I replaced my BORDERITA with a 22 oz "Coors Light Draft" It was ice cold and delicious. We think the reason they are always busy ... is the liquor prices are very fair. The service was friendly and well meaning. It was not Sarah's fault the Kitchen lost the order... but the extra delay and cold food that arrived just was not a good experience. We will never be back.

Our server was as sweet as she could be, but service at this location was very slow, & there were only 4 other families in the entire restaurant. The food was abysmal & overpriced. The rice was dry and the corn tortillas were so stale, they could not be folded in half, nor torn. Though the restaurant was fairly empty, we were seated in front of the noisy kitchen. I was very put off by the "surcharge" and "suggested gratuity." Won't be going here again.
This place has the worst service. Took us 3 times asking 3 separate waiters if we could get service.
I am from Texas and I decided to order the Tex-Mex enchiladas with the gravy beef on top. I’m sorry to say, but even though their enchilada is edible it was nothing like the display or advertisement. The enchilada was dry and there was no sauce lavished on the plate. The enchiladas seemed like coated with a sauce that’s it. I m being honest. Just admit your cook was probably instructed to not over do it on enchilada tex mex gravy or meat sauce when placed on the plate. It was just laying there like a popsicle on a stick, nothing overflowing it was dry like the desert .and I’m gonna be honest with you. It looks horrible based on A e picture it is not tex Mex at all . The salsa was delicious but that was it because enchiladas was all that I ordered first impressions is the last impression for me. I will not go back. I do not recommend this place if you want enchiladas because they are not anything like the picture or advertise. perhaps they’re so skimpy on it because they don’t have enough to go around on enchiladas but it was dry. I’m sure it was edible. That’s it. I’ll give this place one star of that enchilada and the way it was served like a taco plate and that was it
No one at the front. Worse experience ever. Long wait even though there were plenty of space. Lack of staffs. No order, people came in later got their seats first ?! Plenty of seats at the dining space but the staffs decided to seat the group separately at the bar area. Very confusing... oh did I mention it was at 2 pm? Not even a peak hour... wondering how it stays in business... I have been to multiple on the boarder.... this is definitely by far the worse... maybe the worse texmex restaurant
Literally worst Mexican food we've ever eaten! We got Brisket tacos/rice beans wow nastiest food ever. Brisket was obviously microwaved to a beef jerky crisp couldn't even chew through it and then the rice holy smokes literally store bought microwave rice, FAR from anything edible. Mind blowing people were eating here.
Beer was flat, service was terrible, food came out cold and had to wait again to be remade just to be warm. Lowest quality of Mexican food ever. What a waste of a dinner and $85 bucks! This place is trash.
Ordered food for dinner to be delivered by Uber Eats Friday evening for 6. Took our order, took our credit card and waited for it to be delivered. Waited an hour and a half with no delivery. When we checked on our order it had been cancelled because they didn’t want to deliver to our gated community. No contact or phone call to tell us we weren’t getting our food. Find that very rude and irresponsible. Obviously they don’t care about their customers that order for delivery.
We went for lunch, the place was empty. Waiter was nice, silverware was dirty, my veggie bowl came with dried food on the outside of the bowl. The bowl was just rice and beans with lettuce and some sliced avocado. Utterly forgettable. On a brighter note, the food didn't make either my husband or me sick. We won't be going back.
Update: I took a chance but I should have known that even the 4th time wasn't going to be a charm. While other local eateries improved this location has not... Terrible experiences at this On The Border. Recommend avoid this location. Go next door to BA. Third time giving this place a shot. Will not be returning. Every time I have been to this location the wait to have my order taken has been 15 minutes or longer. The time I did manage to get served most of the plate was cold. I Can't recommend this location.
Customer Service went from great to nonexistant due an ordering error. I ordered what I thought was a lighter beer. It came out dark. I requested a switch to the lighter beer, and the training server gave an attitude right away in taking the beer back. The trainee server told me was OK(as no problem). The food was good. We never saw the training server again with her attitude. After requesting a channel change that was the last of seeing trainee as she disappeared with her trainer. It end with the manager delivering our check when we were done. The trainee saw the book closed on the table, and appeared out of nowhere. Remember you never know who your good tippers will be. You are in a service industry. Everyone deserves good customer service unless they are being rude to you. Don't worry we won't be returning after this one visit.
They say us down with giving us menus or anything. After about 25 minutes of only having the chip guy come by our table we had to ask for the menu. Then finally we ordered but they still took forever for even a drink. We had people show up long after us but get their drinks and food before us. They did rush out food out though, which mean we got under cooked food. We've had better service on busier nights. Then they gave us a 20% discount after wasting 30 minutes of our time. Plus they claimed they would remove on of the under cooked meal which they didn't. After wasting more time they finally took of the plate. How hard is it to at least get a table drink and take an order. It be one thing if we were just waiting to get our food but to have to wait to even be noticed is just crazy. I've worked customer service for years and it take a lot to get me to actually complain about service. This was just unacceptable
My wife and I were at the restaurant on 9/13/2025, time around 4 pm. We sat in the bar area and waited for the waiter and waited and waited. After 17 minutes we got up and left. The waitress walked by are table 4 times, sad nothing and would not make eye contact. It was frustrating to say the least...
There are alot of things that this restaurant could work on. Some of the biggest issues for me were hospitality, price, and the dishes. My girlfriend and I just left the restaurant after we tried coming here for lunch and I can honestly say that I will never be returning. Both the hostess and our servers were rude and acted as if our service was a hinderance. The dishes are not worth the price for their portion. The dishes they serve most definitely have MSG in them so you get full much quicker. For a mediocre lunch for just my girlfriend and I we spent almost 50 dollars. This place is not worth the value and the food does not taste that great. Avoid this place if you're looking for a good family Mexican restaurant. The only thing that they have good here is their prices for Margaritas.
We waited for 20 minutes to be acknowledged by the bartender. There are 4 people at the bar and maybe 10 customers dining. The bartender said "sorry, nobody told me I had customers." We ended up just getting a drink after seeing how everyone here shuffles their feet.
My wife & I just left after eating there for the first (and last) time. Beautiful restaurant and service was good. But the food was the worst we've had in many years. The beef taco was so greasy it was inedible. The refried beans seemed to be full of lard and cold, also inedible. I much rather give a place a great review, but I couldn't write this one fast enough. Hopefully it was a fluke.
Never coming back here the food was not good got the California tacos they were just gross and tasted weird the chips are alright the water tastes like straight dirt. Got home and got terrible food poisoning from this place as well stomach never hurt so bad shaking typing this. This place sucks don’t go. (Edit) writing more on this review because a friend that was also with me got food poisoning aswell from the same dish (California tacos) . Don’t wanna imagine what was in that causing me to stay up for 3 hours in extreme pain. I will never be back and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place.
We come here often, but this visit was a total deception. We always sit at the bar area so that we can be watching the games.. Anyways, it took the waitress 17 minutes to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. And after we put the order for the drinks, it took another twenty minutes for her to bring us our drinks and some chips. So when she brought us a drink, I told her that we were ready to place our order and oh boy, that was another roller coaster moment. I order the combination that has a chile Relleno and enchilada with rice and beans, the rice was so cold and hard. All that I was able to eat was half of the enchilada and my boyfriend's dish was a disaster. And all The Times that we have gone there We have always left satisfied and motivated to go back but after this, I don't think that we will go anymore
Our order was to go . We ordered two dinner quesadillas one chicken and one brisket. I have never seen so much grease on quesadillas in my life . My son couldn’t eat them because there was so much grease his stomach started to get upset. What happened to On The Border.very disappointed 😔
