We bought a 16 piece meal, enjoyed eating on it for three days. Very good chicken! They have mini poppers that were amazing! Good coleslaw was very good also!

Chicken tenders fried to perfection and served with super sweet tea. Can't go wrong with any of the sides and the service is always quick. Don't forget to ask for some Serendipity seasoning.

I love this place. They have delicious food. The fried chicken tenders are great. The sweet tea is very sweet and tastes great. They have awesome side order choices like fried okra, onion rings, fried pickles, French fries, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and gravy. The order sizes are perfectly thought out for choosing about how hungry you are. The family meals are perfect. And you can also get fish or shrimp.

You can’t go wrong with Chicken Express. I live in Granbury so I frequent the one in Granbury. However, when I’m in Glen Rose business, I do make it a point to stop in. The service at this location is just as good as the Granbury location. Sweet tea is a must have during the heat of the summer and I highly recommend the poppers. They are spicy and delicious.

Food was good. Service not so much. But it was close to closing so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I just got ice tea and used the ladies' room. It was a quick in and out experience. The tea was good. The restroom was ok. Everything in the bathroom was working. Toilet paper, handsoap, and paper towels were stocked.

The lady that was taking our order was really rude! And she was talking very quiet! But the food was amazing! My friends think the tea tasted a bit weird today! But that lady was rude!

The food here is always good , fresh and hot. I just wish their service was a little quicker. They also give an an abundance of food and my granddaughter loves their french fries

I've always liked these chicken places, but the chicken is kind of bland and the sides are better. This is a good location and i have never had any issues here.

I like this place I've been getting fresher food here lately the last few times that I've been but the prices are a bit steep for chicken 14.99 for a 7 PC tender meal. Not including a drink.

The chicken was very good. The meal was very filling. Personally I came in a large group of 30-40 and they got our food to us very fast. My friend is over my shoulder nagging me to say that the roles needed to be crispier. But everybody else says that they really liked them the way they were and they wouldn't want them to change. Overall I think it is a great place to eat. And I would highly recommend!

After being on the run all day, I pulled in to grab some quick dinner to take home. My intercom greeting was friendly and professional enough. Then, I pulled up to be kindly met by someone working outside to capture payments fast and keep the line moving, which was much appreciated. It makes you wonder why you don't see more make this extra little effort when possible. After that my order was ready within just a couple of minutes and I was on my way. It was an overall good experience and I got it home in time for everyone's chicken to still be hot and crispy.

About every 3rd order is incorrectly filled. I love the food, but I see the management setting a playful example rather than a professional example.. They do however take your name and serve the correct order free of charge on your next visit.

Kind of annoying when you pull up to a drive thru window and hand someone your debit card, you would expect a response such as “I’ll be right back, how are you, etc.” I would have been happy if someone told me my total when I handed them my card. But it’s extremely disrespectful to take someone’s card and shut the door in their face without saying a word. This is called CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. ITS NOT THAT HARD TO SAY THANK YOU TO A PAYING CUSTOMER

Chicken was dry and could tell was cooked in old grease. The staff is always friendly and helpful though.

I normally get a 12 PC or more of dark only. Always have to wait for it then it's all grease and ruins the whole dining experience because your hand are covered in grease. That if you had a side dish that calls for silverware it would be a greasy messy. Around hot spot times you should prepare more We would like it hot but not dripping with grease. Employees never smile too.

Tables where dirty when we arrived and cleaned them ourselves. Chicken tenders tasted overcooked or old. Out of sweet tea at front so had to ask the employees for refills. Not the best chicken express we have been to but maybe its better when a different crew is working.

The chicken here is solid but the price is borderline ridiculous... Since covid they have doubled the prices here or nearly doubled the prices on most all meals... Way too expensive for fast food chicken. But Tea is cheap so I can at least get drinks here...

Ordered a 12 piece bone in chicken, no sides. It's 8:00 p.m. Saturday. There wasfood no food in the hold warm/display area. Uh oh! It was all being held in pans in stand-up warmers. Paid $30.00 for 12 pieces chicken and 6 rolls. Brought food home for hungry crew. The food was dry and shrunken from being held too long. Very disappointing! Chicken Express doesn't close until 9:00, so they served this poor quality product for another hour after I left.

Typical chicken express. Non-seasoned fried chicken and fish with small expensive sides. VERY good sweet tea though. This particular location acted dumbfounded when I asked them to warm up my chocolate chip cookie. First of all, their sign states the cookies are baked fresh. But baked fresh cookies arent served cold. I told the server to hold my cookie because after my meal I'd want them to warm it up. After my meal i brought the cookie back (because they served it on my tray anyway) and asked them to warm it up. The same girl who took my order said they couldnt do that. Eventually she went to get a supervisor, who told me they couldn't do it either. Then another supervisor was consulted. She came out and told me they could put it back in the oven but it might burn. I eventually got a warm chocolate chip cookie. A very big issue over a very easy request.

The food was good once we received it. It took 20 minutes to get 2 #1 meals through the drive through. They were very disorganized. "Express" should not be a part of their name here.

I’ve been eating at Chicken-E for Many years and I get a 16 pc hot wing about 90% of the time and you changed to boneless wings. All that means is.more people or machines handle my food! I’m so disappointed I don’t think I’ll be back again until the bone in wings come back! WHY CHICKEN E??? If something ain’t broke don’t fix it! Broken hearted in Kopperl!!

The food was good and hot. All the other staff was friendly except for the young lady who toook my order. I stood at the counter waiting for her to tell me she was ready to take my order when the employee right next to her greeted me. She wouldn't even look at me and acted like I had the plague. Never returned to give me my receipt even though I stood at the counter and waited. Finally she came back to take another persons order...who she didnt have a problem with, and grabbed and crumbles my receipt without offering it to me. I asked for it and she uncrumbled it, holding it with two fingers out to the side, still refusing to look at me . I politely said thank you. Still no response. I hope it wasn'tt because my skin was darker than hers. She should not be at the counter. Receipt said employee Lea D. This is 2019...so, so sad.

Chicken was dry and may as well have been jerky. Gravy was water. Employee acted like anyone who came through the drive through was a burden. You took the job, you get paid to do a job. No, you aren't going to get paid to do nothing.

It seems like the Chicken Express in Glen Rose has been on the decline of late. The last few times I ate there the food overly greasy but it'd been a while so I tried them again the evening. Unfortunately the chicken was as close to jerky as it could get and it kind of tasted like the grease in the fryer hadn't been changed in a while too. The second star is because the corn nuggets were fresh and good.

Not the best choice for chicken anymore. Gives you indigestion and you taste it hours later. Mashed potatoes and gravy are way too heavily peppered and come from a package. Chicken was tough and cold and got ignored when I walked in to place an order. Happens way too often. Sometimes I just walk back out when ignored. So I dont go there anymore.

I bought $90 in chicken and two gallons of tea. I asked for some cups for the tea and they brought me gravy cups...for drinking tea out of. We also didn't get the right count of rolls and biscuits, among other issues. Seems to be some issue every time we come to this location.

Short and sweet... food was expensive. Food was not "bad", Idid eat it although not enjoying it, and it tasted like reheated something and old, so a long way from being good. We can buy a whole roasted chicken at Kroger or HEB and it is cheaper and better tasting. This is not just this particular establishment. I drove out of a KFC a few weeks ago after their prices seemed sky high. I do not believe I will be returning to this restaurant as there are options.

Service is poor. Employees are as close to useless as they can possibly be many of them appear to be strung out on crack or meth. Main concern is how unsanitary the restaurant is. It appears that the counters never get cleaned. Gravy was very watery. Tea is awful both sweet and unsweet.

Sadly, my wife drove away tonight with someone elses meal. We were really looking forward to our chicken livers, and got home, 25 min. later with tenders! Plus, the order we mistakenly got, according to the ticket, was supposed to have 2 drinks with it, which were not served. Feel worse for whoever got our chicken livers...We love them, but not everyone does! Please be more careful. Hope they looked in the box. Lesson learned for us.

The manager is completely incompetent. I called from the drive thru line to ask why I'd been in line for over 20 minutes after placing my order, and she hung up on me. My food was somehow both burned and half frozen. That was fine though since I didn't get to eat anyway due to being late getting back from my lunch break. I've tried getting in touch with the owner to no avail.

No matter what day of the week these people cannot get anything correct. If you say something to them the guy mid 30s with the glasses gets very rude. I do not recommend, we have lived out here for 8+ years and everytime they mess our orders up.

Justin L. Missed one whole meal of my order. Then I waited 30 minutes for an order that the cook CANNOT count the number of gizzards he dropped, so only had enough for 1 order, not the second. Went to order an extra meal, but I was told that “we have an 18 piece meal coming up, so we won’t have any chicken, and if we do, I don’t know what pieces it will be”. Finally after hearing that they did not drop enough gizzards, I told them to refund the whole meal. This location is getting worse and worse. To the point where it will not have business before long.

Ate here on 10/12/2020. Got food poisoning and ruined my vacation. Will not be coming back to stay in Glen Rose. No one inside wearing masks not even when they bring your food to you. Basic food safety behaviors not followed. I eat at Chicken Express a lot elsewhere but will never eat here again.

You reach out to corporate to have someone contact you about sitting in drive thru for 45 mins waiting on chicken that takes 8 mins. And then you never hear from anyone. I picked up an order of two pcs of chicken breast with two sides & went through the drive thru. Went to eat the chicken when I got home within minutes & the chicken looked awful! It was so dried out it was totally uneatible! $11+ for a meal I fed to my dog! Couldn't even chew it it was so hard & dry! It was like chicken jerky. It looked slightly burned & just old. How can you sell such with a clear conscience!! Knowing the person who gave you their hard earned dollars for a meal they hoped to enjoy was totally not eatable! Im going to bet you don't eat such! Shame on you!!! My ticket was for 12/18/23 @ 5:16pm. $11.14. I hope you are able to fix the issue with this for future customers.

Shame on chicken e been eating there ever since the place was built. 20 bucks gets you 2 cole slaws which was edible. Order two thighs got one leg one thigh about the size of a big quail not a chicken. Ordered livers and gizzards. The only part of the only gizzard was the gristle no other meat at all. Couldnt chew it. The liver pieces were no bigger than a fingernail and dried like show leather. Of all the hundreds of dollars over the years my family and i have spent there. I dont believe the owner ever eats his own meals. If you want good chocken big pieces go to Brookshires.

Extremely unhappy with my service this evening! Never in 16 years of living here and going to chicken express have I had such a bad experience! It's one thing to get my order incorrect. But when I call to let the manager know of the issue.. they let the phone ring and ring..then pick it up and hang it up!! So I call back..it rings and rings and rings..then they pick it up and hang it back up!!! So I call again!!! Finally I ask to speak with a manager..she (Manager Daisy) gets on the phone and proceeds to tell me they don't answer their phone when busy. What that says to me is the customers are NOT important!! This is NOT how you run a business!! Unless you don't want to see your business succeed!! Shame on you Chicken Express for your lack of caring about your customers.

This store really needs help. Second time I’ve come this week and been told there’s no fried chicken and will take 2 min to cook. This is a FRIED CHICKEN restaurant!!! And the second time I placed an order for pick up on door dash because weee about to pull our 40 ft RV out of town and clearly can’t drive it through the drive through. I was told it would take 20 min to cook the chicken when I arrived. I was told I was not a priority that the ones in line were. I don’t believe that should be the case. I’m not a door dasher I used it to save time and give the restaurant the time to fulfill the order. The staff were rude and unaccommodating. I’m a paying customer and pretty dang sure I wouldn’t have been told to wait 20 min in the drive thru. The manager needs to fix what’s wrong here bc fried chicken at Chicken Express should be ready at 12 pm - lunch rush!!!! This isn’t rocket science. It’s fried food.

Waited 15 /20 minutes and everyone was getting their food and I wasn’t. Asked if my food was almost ready and they gave my food to someone else. Said they had to make sides fresh and would take a while. Asked for a refund or if they could just put something together for us and they just issued a refund but didn’t try to make things right. Super disappointing.

My main issue was with the food. Visiting from out of town, bought a family pack with sweet tea to feed the family. Got back to the hotel and half the chicken (not the breading) was so salty it was inedible. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the only things to offset the salt. Had to taste test each piece before eating. Threw away over half of it, which is hard for a family on a budget. Be fore warned, check the chicken before you leave.

This Chicken Express is the absolute worst I’ve ever been to. I try my best to avoid this one completely, but I end up having to stop every now and then as it’s one of the few restaurants I can stop and pick up a meal from for my family on my way home from work. The tenders almost always taste and look like they’ve been sitting under the heat lamp for hours. The piece chicken doesn’t taste or look fresh either, although it’s hard to say because they rarely have enough to make a 10 piece family meal. Service is substantially worse than the other closest two Chicken Expresses. 9 times out of 10 there’s an issue with my order. If you want good Chicken E and don’t mind driving a few more minutes, skip this one and go to Granbury or Stephenville.
