Meehan’s never disappoints. The mac and cheese was rich and comforting, and the asparagus was perfectly cooked. The carrots were a standout — highly recommend. The filet mignon was incredibly tender, especially paired with the lobster. The carrot cake was amazing, and the old fashioneds were on point. Our waiter, Will S., was amazing — he knew the menu inside and out and made excellent recommendations. Overall, a fantastic meal from start to finish.
This place is absolutely amazing. I took my husband here for his birthday last weekend. The food and service was exceptional. The Brussel Sprouts and Steaks were A1!!!! We will definitely be back!!
Top quality dining experience starting with the excellent service and atmosphere. Made better by the awesome meal prepared by Chef Derek. 5 stars all around!!
First of all, LOVE the service!!!! Everyone is super friendly and respectful. Everyone greeted us too regardless if they were our server which is really nice. It’s giving small town affection and kindness with a high end aesthetic. Our waitress was super sweet! This is a very nice quality steakhouse, great food, appetizers, and the crème brûlée was delicious. Would totally come back and open a location in Fort Worth please 🙂
The entire experience was awesome. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was delicious. I had the lobster and my husband had the salmon. The sides are enormous. Our server Lawrence Davis was phenomenal actually every staff member we encountered were exceptional. It’s wonderful to have a fine dining restaurant in Mansfield versus having to drive to Dallas or Ft Worth.
A wonderful place for my wife and I to have our date night. The atmosphere was wonderful as well as the service from all the staff. The manager came and greeted us to ensure we were having a good time. Highly recommend.
High class dining on a budget, this place is amazing and surprisingly affordable for the caliber of food and service they provide. Hands down the new favorite lunch spot with all my clients. And may I present to you the calamari po boy, it was delicious. Buttered roll with calamari and the cilantro sauce 🤤
Intimate atmosphere with impeccable service and food that exceeds expectations! Our server LJ was more than accommodating. This restaurant (fine dining) is a must try! The manager came by twice to check on us which is something that was very appreciated. Meals: sea bass, grilled chicken, asparagus (no sauce),and mashed potatoes. Drinks: sweet tea, water Cocktails: Empress 75 Everything was delicious!
Met up for a business meeting during lunch and loved the experience of the white tablecloth and the grand service but those lunch prices were amazing. The chicken sandwich is out of this world and it was under $20.
Awesome food! Classy environment and a cigar lounge attached. The cocktail menu is extensive and some unique drinks and ingredients available.
This is a bit late, but on February 13 we went to Meehan's to celebrate both my DH birthday and Valentine's Day, We had a wonderful time. The food was fabulous, well made and beautifully presented. Our waiter made the dinner ever more enjoyable. He offered some food and wine suggestions, and I am happy to say we followed his advice. Instead of two appetizers we went with one, and truthfully, we could have done that with the salads as well. The wine recommended went so well with our entrees, and since we were there for a birthday, dessert was on the house - another something enough to share. For somewhere for a special occasion, This is definitely on our list to visit again.
We love Meehan's !! LJ is the best and kindest person. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are having the best, intimate experience!! I recommend Meehan’s 100/100% of the time !!
Dinner and drinks were fantastic! Walking into the restaurant made me feel like I was outside of Mansfield. The host staff was fantastic. The servers, Paul and Brett, did a great job of accommodating us. The owner stopped by our table and welcomed us. I love how the menu options had their special twist to tradition steakhouse options. Definitely get the bread pudding! I look forward to returning.
Very pleased with the friendly atmosphere. The furniture is comfortable, staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The owner is very friendly, personable and comes around to say hello, which I really liked. If you’re lucky, you can sometimes catch Henry himself outside with his mom. The food exceeded our expectations to say the least, It was excellent, along with the delicious cocktails. Beautiful humidor full of tons of different brands of cigars, nice big televisions to watch sports on which keeps my husband very happy and I’m obsessed with the decor. This place has not failed to impress me every time I’ve walked through the door.
We come to Mansfield every 6 to 8 weeks to visit my parents and Meehans has always been part of that routine. My father, who is friends with the owner, first brought us years ago, and it quickly became a favorite. The food has always been good, something are hit or miss, but what made it unforgettable was the rhythm of the place. There was a natural flow to how everything came together that made dining there feel special. It felt orchestrated and the staff seemed genuinely happy. Lately, that feeling has faded. The staff are still kind, but the energy and care that once defined it seem to be missing. It feels more cold and that choreography is growing less each visit. On our last visit, we asked to speak with a manager to share a compliment. We tried to wait to catch one walking by but for then second time we never saw a manager walking around the restaurant like we used too and they remembered us. The young lady assistant approached an older man in a suit near the kitchen, who looked over, laughed with the staff, and never came by. Later our server came by to address it and we asked that he just passed along the message that he was great and that we’d hopefully catch him next time. Meehans is still beautiful, and we will always love it as it holds a special place for our family but for the first time, leaving did not feel as hard and I asked my dad if we can try something new on our next trip. Also, what happened to the wine list? We are wine lovers and we used to love finding wines we had forgotten about or getting to try knew ones. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of your list. It stood out in comparison to other restaurants. It seems amateur now. None of these things are deal breakers for us. It’s just disappointing. We brought friends last time and I was hoping that the previous times were isolated but unfortunately it was the same. Mr. Meehan has been a great friend to the family and I hate to leave this review but I’m hoping maybe something can change and it’s still one of the best places in DFW in spite of the things I’ve mentioned. If you haven’t been, go! Tell them you want the funny server whose name I can never remember. They always know who it is.
We were there for a large party and could not have been happier with the atmosphere, service or food! Chef Derrick went above and beyond, 10/10 and I would put this place up against and other "fine dining" steakhouse in the metroplex. Do not sleep on Meehan's!!!
This steakhouse is a hidden gem in Mansfield! We went here for our anniversary dinner and from the moment we walk in every person that attended our table greeted us for this special event we’re celebrating! Steak is perfectly cooked and seasoned! all the side dishes we ordered are delicious! I would say Meehans Chef is doing some miracle on that kitchen! Everything is delicious! We’ve been to so many steak house and by far Meehans is on top ! Can’t wait to come back here again! worth every penny! 👏👏👏
AMAZING DINING EXPERIENCE! I hosted my daughter’s 10th birthday in a private room & the staff went ABOVE & BEYOND to accommodate my party & exceed any expectations imagined. Lawrence was an excellent server, Quinci (the events manager) checked on us several times and even provided some unexpected treats for my daughter. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish & cannot wait to return! The food was fantastic! Favorite - the burger!! Out of this world!
Finally a local elegant establishment. Great for a romantic dinner. Selling point here is "It's noise controlled". Place was full and I could hear my wife talk comfortably from across the table. Food was great, I can't say enough to for the service. Atmosphere finally I don't have to drive 30+ minutes to get a quality night out.
No need to go to Dallas or Fort Worth for fine dining, it’s right here in Mansfield at Meehan’s. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and were delighted with the delicious crab cakes, steak, mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. The martinis were perfect too. The crème brûlée and cappuccinos to follow were delicious. This is our new special place. Try it you will not be dissatisfied.
Wow! Meehan’s is a very special place. We went there to celebrate our granddaughter’s birthday and it was our first time eating there. The food was amazing and the customer service is outstanding! Our server, LJ, was one of the best parts of our dinner. Personable, friendly and attentive. He made us feel very special. The food? The calamari appetizer was some of the best I have ever had. Steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The trout was delicious and the chicken Milanese was so tasty. Hubby got the special lobster risotto and that was so good. For our sides we had the spinach, mushrooms and herbed fries. Delicious!! Great wine list to choose from and the old fashions were very good, made with good bourbon. Be sure to get dessert. The cheesecake and crème brûlée were out of this world. If you want to treat yourself, go to Meehan’s. You will not be disappointed!
It's like going to a downtown Dallas steakhouse but so much better. We ordered the 32oz of pork chops which were perfection, probably the past in the DFW area. The New York Strip had a great char and seasoned perfectly. We ordered the asparagus with the Hollandaise sauce and the corn/elote (the weakest point of the meal). We had the creme brulee which is large enough to share. And when you go make sure to ask for Lawrence. This guy was amazing his recommendations were on point and was on top of the whole time. We didn't have to ask for anything. Definitely big city flavors in a smaller town.
Have been coming here for over a year & a half. You can't go wrong with any plate option you pick. Our favorite sides are definitely the Serrano Mac & cheese as well as brussel sprouts! A must try is the calamari as well!!
As a foodie in the DFW area I must recommend checking Meehans out. The food is way above par and surpassed my personal expectations by a long shot. They are also neighbored to Henry’s cigar bar which is a great place to unwind after a belly full of top-notch cuisine. Food-wise I got a ribeye and my Dad got the tuna. Both were incredible. For our sides we got Brussels sprouts, and Mac and cheese. They were fantastic. Also, you can’t leave without the bread pudding… you must get it.
I’m a truck driver out of Idaho. I carry a folding E bike in my truck that I like to take for rides in the little towns that I pass through around the country. I decided to ride down to the little town of Mansfield Texas. The valet kids in front of Meehan‘s Chophouse recommended I try the bread pudding, so I did. Wow! Awesome food here and awesome atmosphere. I couldn’t recommend this place more. Excellent place to celebrate a special date. Spend time with family, friends or a loved one.
Great food. The calamari and the bread pudding were to die for. Best Calamari I’ve ever had. Wife had the scallops and I had a steak. Scallops were great as well. Steak was good and with the whole experience and rest of the food this was an excellent dining experience. Worth traveling to, like you might go to Dallas for a fancy restaurant. Only, this one is local. Totally recommend.
Here with a beautiful couple who frequents this restaurant. The vibe is nice here… the staff was nice and super helpful. My blueberry lemon drop was delish!!! The food was amazingly delicious too! It was a great dining experience! Didn’t feel rushed to eat and leave either — so pleased.
We needed a little getaway dinner for my wife’s birthday. This was the perfect selection. Their cocktails were phenomenal. I tried the Midnight Reserve and I was not disappointed. Steaks were cooked to perfection and if you like bread pudding. Yes. Just yes. I will absolutely dine here again.
Me and my husband went here for our anniversary lunch and it was amazing 🤩, I recommend getting the steak and potatoes. It is the best steak all around the DFW so far and I have tried lots of places. They also gave us complimentary cheesecake for the occasion. 🤤 The margarita & old fashion were super refreshing! Service was amazing.
A very professional and knowledgeable staff; a comfortable dining experience and very fine food. Our waitress was very attentive and made us feel like special guests. The food was exactly done with cooking when they brought it out (no plates sitting around) and up to four people to help attend to the table as you eat. Not only are we pleased, but we will be going back again.
This was such a LOVELY experience! We ate there for the first time a few weeks ago and were so impressed! The food and service were excellent. It ranks in the top 3 Chilean Sea Bass I have ever had…and I test drive Csb often! Ambiance is stunning as well!!
The best dining experience I have ever had! The moment you step in the door, you know your dining experience will be special. The wait staff are very attentive, sharp, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We ordered a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all amazing! The chef is incredible and took time to come to us at our table to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The owner is great at mingling with guests and just added so much fun to the evening. I am excited for the owners as well as the city of Mansfield. Congratulations to all! I can’t wait to go back.
Hands down the best restaurant in town. If you plan on celebrating this is the place to go. The service is one of a kind. They are knowledgeable about the food and wine combinations. Allows you to have great conversation without rushing you. Will return soon .. the food melts in your mouth the flavor of the food is spectacular. The drinks beautifully mixed.
I went to eat here with my husband for my birthday. Everyone there was amazing. From the hostess to the GM. It was the nicest dining experience I’ve ever had, and the food was delicious! I don’t drink, and they made me an awesome mocktail. Shout out to the chef, who made us bread pudding which I highly recommend. I will be back for my anniversary next month. Way to go Meehan’s!
My bestie made reservations here at 3:30 yesterday (Friday) for 7:45 time. We got in but she had to call back to say we would be closer to 8 - my fault, had to work late. They were very nice about it. It seemed to take forever to get here (I'm from North Dallas, not from this area) but when we arrived, it seemed perfect, right on the corner, plenty of room for complimentary valet, with two young people waiting to greet us and park our car. We love to dine in nice establishments all over the world but I must say we were impressed by what we saw as soon as we walked in. Lots of smiles all round and we were seated immediately. As we strolled to the dining area, I noticed a nice bar area to the right. Cute booths, I thought. The dining room was full and we were seated in a table right outside the kitchen. I am particular and as a I watched people coming out of the kitchen, walking right past me - on both sides, I didn't want to sit down. I told the host - I'd rather sit somewhere else. I was told there were no other '2 top' tables available. We considered moving my chair so that I wasn't on the aisle in the corner, with people quickly passing on both sides, but it was too tight a fit. I should have taken a star off for that and I won't eat here again - I don't care how few people are in my party - without being assured that I won't be seated here again. On to the service - we were seated for a few minutes before someone asked about drinks, but we were tended to as far as water. We both asked for a martini - different for each. They arrived but seemed weak. My friend asked for a shot of Grey Goose $11 and split it with me. I had asked for extra olives with mine, thinking they might bring a tiny bowl with maybe 3 or 4 extra. But I guess their olives are flown in - I was charged $3 and there were 4 olives on the toothpick. I abandoned my drink and asked for a 12 yr old Macallan $22. I was surprised that it was served in a glass very different from the traditional rocks glass. I've been enjoying much pricier whiskys for years but always in a rocks glass so I looked up this glass. My glass appeared to be either a tulip or a Glencairn glass, perfect for swirling the whisky to open up the aroma. I learn something new every day! And the night continued to improve, in spite of where we were sitting. We shared the crab cakes $24 and they were delicious. Cooked just right, slightly flaky and with a slight crunch to the batter. We also split a wonderfully fresh Caesar salad. It was topped with a couple of anchovies, and lots of beautiful shaved parmesan cheese on top. The service by Quon was exceptional. We did have to flag down others more than twice, but we women want what we want when we want it, lol. He knew the menu so well, spoke eloquently and made us laugh. My lobster and 8oz filet $78 arrived at the same time as my friend's ribeye $76. My lobster was very tasty but the filet - oh, it melted in my mouth. Seasoning was excellent and it all went well with my scotch. My friend loved the ribeye and of course we needed containers to take the extra, but ordered a glass of Bordeaux each - she told the waiter she just returned from France and wanted a nice French wine. It didn't disappoint. We ended it with dessert - I got the chocolate souffle $14 and she ordered the divine carrot cake $13. Overall, this is a beautifully-designed restaurant with wonderful staff, happy management, delicious food, nostalgic music and left me not minding to see the $360 bill. I'll gladly do it over again - at a different table!
Excellent service and hospitality and better food. A terrific dining experience. The crab cakes are the best I’ve had in quite some time. Having lived on the east coast my entire life and I’ve eaten crab cakes since I was young, these are probably the 2nd best I’ve ever had. Their bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream go together perfectly. Ashton took care of us along with the highly trained and professional support staff. Can’t wait to return. We finished with the meal and went next door to the cigar bar. What an awesome treat.
This place is excellent. Fancy chain steakhouse level of food and drink but much more well done. Everything we have had here has been excellent. Salmon- 9/10 Chicken fried steak bites - 8/10 Calamari- 9/10 Spinach salad- 10/10 Brussels sprouts- 12/10 Pear martini (no longer on the menu, but they will make it for you) and old-fashioned very good. Our server was Kendall and he did an amazing job. Priced a bit higher than we would prefer, but it is great food and a great experience. One piece of feedback, we like to eat in the lounge. There is typically 3 to 5 employees huddled up at the bar, visiting and talking, etc. and it really takes away from the atmosphere.
Had a very wonderful experience at Meehan’s steakhouse. We had 3:30 reservations for 2. We were greeted and seated promptly. Great customer service from the host. Our waiter was Erin. Can I say that Erin is an amazing server. Dinner was great. We ordered bread pudding to go. After dinner we went to Henry’s Cigar Lounge. I really enjoyed that as well. The manger help us select cigars as well as give us a crash course on how to light, smoke it as well as what cigar to select with your drink. I will definitely be back..
My husband and I went to Meehan’s for our anniversary this past weekend and the entire experience was top tier. The restaurant is beautiful. Our waiter was so attentive and kind. He wished us a happy anniversary several times and brought us a celebratory slice of raspberry cheesecake after our meal. The cheesecake was the perfect touch to top off an amazing dinner. We had the calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. They were so good. For our meal, we shared grilled salmon with asparagus and the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent. The filet mignon was some of the best we’ve ever had. We also enjoyed our drinks. I got the “Blushing Lady” and my husband had their tequila old fashioned. They were great. We will without a doubt be back.
First time going here. We got seated back in like a private room, was pretty neat! Food was great. My steak was cooked perfect. Kinda had a snafu with the order and service, but the manager made it up to us, and gave me a free drink. So we will be back. No worries. Food was exceptional. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese so that's a win win to me! Go! You'll love it.
Service was spectacular! Ask for Quon as your server. He will not disappoint! I could have cut my filet with a fork. The peppercorn sauce the was recommended was fantastic. The calamari, brussel sprouts and bread pudding are a must! We will be back!
We usually have to go to downtown Fort Worth or Dallas for an exquisite steak dinner, so it's nice to see something of this caliber in Mansfield. We celebrated my daughter's graduation there with family tonight. Emma J was our server. She did an excellent job as did the other staff helping her. Kudos to the chef for getting every cook correct on the steaks and lamb. Not a single error. They were delicious. We had lots of sides, but the favorites were the Brussels sprouts, herbed fries, and smoked gouda mac n cheese. We also loved the desserts - crème brulee, cheesecake, and brioche bread pudding. The long Island Ice teas and old fashioned drinks were said to be good, too. VERY comfortable seating and nice atmosphere. It will become a staple location for our family.
World class dining experience!! David was so incredibly warm, friendly and professional! My server, Justin, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable though also very down to earth and approachable. Felt every bit like the fine dining establishment it is with a personal touch! Had the Steak Frites--amazingly prepared with fantastic texture and melt-in-your mouth chew while maintaining a satisfyingly beefy taste you expect out of a perfectly prepared steak. Brussel sprouts were divine, perfectly roasted and paired with a creamy parmesan sauce. Creamed corn was fantastic and I swear the kernels were freshly separated from the cob just before service! And of course the calamari lives up to the praise from all the other reviewers! So tender yet somehow encased in such a perfectly prepared crispy and flaky crust! Paired with the cilantro cream sauce it was some of the best I've ever had! Finally I had an amazing roasted pecan and brown butter Old Fashioned which, hands down, was the best cocktail I have ever had! A must try when it is available on the menu!
My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful evening at Meehan's, and it was truly a dining experience to remember. From start to finish, our server Amber provided excellent service—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, she made sure every detail was perfect. We started with the Blue Crab Cakes as an appetizer, and they were simply outstanding. Each bite was a perfect balance of crispness and tender, flavorful crab—a fantastic way to begin our meal. For the main course, we shared a variety of dishes, and each one was a standout. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts with parmesan cream were roasted to perfection, with a creamy and nutty richness that paired beautifully with our proteins. The Flame Grilled Chicken Breast was juicy and seasoned to perfection, while the 6oz Petite Filet Mignon with Butter Poached Lobster was nothing short of indulgent. The filet was tender and flavorful, and the lobster added a luxurious touch to the meal. To end the evening, we shared the Carrot Cake, which was moist, flavorful, and topped with the perfect cream cheese frosting. It was the ideal sweet finish to an already wonderful dining experience.
I love the atmosphere and the service is outstanding. Perfect for special occasions or a quiet intimate dining experience. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary again this year. Shout out to our server Heidi.
Wonderful first time experience. Business lunch here was a treat. From the moment I entered into the restaurant, there was no doubt that it was going to be a great meal. The Fried Brie and the Fried Calamari were probably some of the most enjoyable appetizers I’ve had in a long while. The Meehan’s Chopped Cobb Salad was plated well and had 5 oz of nicely cooked steak too. All-in for our party of three for lunch was right around $160.
We went for Valentine's dinner and this place was everything we wanted and needed it to be. We love that we didn't have to drive to Dallas or Ft. Worth to have some fine dining. The appetizer was wonderful. The steak was excellent and the sides were nice shareable sizes. The dessert was a great way to end our experience there. We will definitely be back. We saw some other dishes we want to try.
Our wedding reception was held here nearly three years ago. Reservations were made well in advance. The impeccable service, food and atmosphere was unforgettable. Tables were arranged to comfortably accommodate our party of around thirty-five in this smaller, quaint room. This regal experience won our patronage for future dining.
Everything here is amazing! Service is always exceptional. My only "complaint" is that despite the restaurant being very gluten aware and keeping me safe, they have no gluten free bread/bun options to substitute. Highly recommend!
Our server Quan was absolutely amazing..down to earth but yet professional. He took great care of our table even when a small problem arose. The food was seasoned and everything was great. It was Our first time but will not be Our last
Excellent service!!!! Jeremy is the man to see! Top class food prepared with love because when you take that first bite..... it'll enlighten your taste buds! I had the salmon with garlic mashed potato and it was phenomenal!! Fine dining is where that place is at! Very fancy...
The meal was outstanding and the service was spectacular. Don’t miss the calamari and chicken fried steak bite appetizers. The scallops and the grilled chicken will be calling my name for months. Brussels sprouts will be ordered again. We were disappointed in the herb fries, not bad just nothing special. The cocktail selections were impeccable, we tried a couple of different old-fashioned variations, both of which we’d absolutely order again. Ending the meal with the chocolate soufflé was absolutely a good call. Who knew that a high-quality steakhouse lived in downtown Mansfield? We didn’t and we will be going back again very soon.
These are the best steaks in DFW. The atmosphere is romantic and the service is phenomenal. The best part though is the food. I have been a few times and always thought the steak was amazing. Recently, I had the chance to go to my dream restaurant, Hell’s Kitchen, and also got the filet. I have to say, I can cut the filet at Meehan’s with a butter knife and the other one, I could not. To say their steak is better than a world renowned restaurant and it’s right here in Mansfield is amazing! Keep supporting Meehan’s and if you haven’t had their filet or the sliced filet with sauce, you need to try it!
First time here, & everything was amazing! Our waiter, Quon, was very knowledgeable, answered our questions, and made some great recommendations. The crab cakes were the best we had ever had, & all the food was cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back, & recommend Meehan’s to all of our family & friends!
Came here for our wedding anniversary and it was the right decision. From the moment we sat down this place was an experience. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, salmon entree and bread pudding dessert out of everything we ordered. Definitely coming back next anniversary (or next week 🤭😉)
We celebrated Christmas Eve at Meehan's. Best decision! From the moment we drove up to the free valley parking everything was great! They greeted us with big beautiful smiles! The atmosphere was warm and cozy! The food was great for the appetizers to the dessert! The brussel sprouts were my favorite! If I lived in the area, I would stop by for the brussel sprouts at least once a week! The cigar lounge is definitely an added perk! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it is a very nice place for special occasions!
We came in for our anniversary lunch. Kids were both at school which left time for me and my wife to come here for lunch. Will was our waiter. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations for reds and sides on the menu as well. We made sure to call Scott the manager over to explain we had a great experience. As a previous restaurant manager it was nice to see a restaurant where all the staff were on the same page. A perfect dining experience. From the pre bus to the table touches and not to mention the atmosphere and service. THIS is why I come out to eat. For an experience. I had the NY strip and my wife had the filet. Both seared to perfection. I will say this isn't a casual dining experience, that being said dress and act appropriately people! Elevated food, elevated service and an elevated experience. Would definitely recommend this place. We will be coming back for dinner !!
Dinner Date Perfection at Meehan’s Chophouse ✨ Tonight’s dinner date was absolutely perfect. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere at Meehan’s Chophouse felt warm, elegant, and romantic. The customer service was top-tier—every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for, which made the evening even more special. We started with the meatball appetizer, which was perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The Blackberry Gold Rush cocktail was divine—sweet, smooth, and the perfect way to toast the evening together. For dinner, we shared the Porterhouse and the Salmon, both cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was incredible. And the sides—Mac and Cheese and Brussels Sprouts—were so flavorful we couldn’t stop talking about them! Everything from the food to the service made the night feel magical. 🥂✨ If you’re looking for a place to share an unforgettable meal with someone special, Meehan’s Chophouse is it.
I visited Meehan’s Chophouse a while ago, and it’s still one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Mansfield. We ordered their Seafood Tower, and it was absolutely amazing — fresh oysters, shrimp, crab, and a whole lobster beautifully presented on ice. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! The restaurant has a classy, cozy atmosphere, and the service was attentive and professional. It’s definitely a great spot for special occasions or just to treat yourself to something exceptional. Highly recommend!
Upscale yet cozy! I was looking for somewhere to celebrate our 13th anniversary that was “a little more”. After reading the reviews I was optimistic… There are a couple “reviews” that wee a little pretentious and self inflated. Meehans did not disappoint. Ambiance was just right, not pretentious and almost cozy. The staff was above and beyond, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They made us feel welcome. Being a late lunch, and our first visit, we decided to try a few appetizers and a lobster mango entree salad each. Apps included lamb lollipops, calamari and the crab cakes. I have never had calamari that I could cut with my fork and no knife. Just crispy on the outside, TENDER and delicious! The lamb lollipops were cooked a perfect mid-rare. The crab cakes were on par with everything else, crispy, tender and delicious! The sauces were paired perfectly with the proteins. The lobster mango salads were exceptional! The dressing had a perfect acid/sweet ratio that set it off AND a generous amount of lobster. I have to say the calamari lives up to the reviews, so it seems like consistency and respect for the food is very present. The whole experience was exceptional! The selection was big enough for variety but small enough to get each dish right every time. We’re both looking forward to coming back to try our next new favorite dishes. ***sorry no photos, food was too tasty. Hard to take pictures when your mouth is watering*** All in all an excellent experience to celebrate our anniversary. Looking forward to our next visit.
Can we talk about this picture please? I have NEVER in the entirety of my life.....experienced a chicken sandwich such as this place delivers. I woke up thinking today was going to be just another day...and then....I ordered this sandwich. It is all I can think about. I have dreams about it, I don't think I can look at another chicken sandwich the same way. My life has changed for the better and I know that the only way such euphoria can stay is with ANOTHER. Go here. Eat this. You will not be disappointed.
Amazing dinner for our first time at Meehan’s. The wife and I met 3 other friends on a Thursday evening (17-Apr-2025). We had a 6 pm dinner reservation. We used their valet parking. It’s a great feature and is free except for tip. I tipped $5 upon return of my truck. Note that it’s best to approach from the south if you’re planning to use valet parking. Once inside, we checked in with the host and had just a few minutes wait for them to advise our server and ready our table. Upon being seated, our server, Eloy R arrived to greet us. Water was served, drinks were ordered and we studied the menu for a bit. After enjoying our cocktails for a while, we placed our dinner order. My wife and I shared the following: - Four Roses Old Fashioned (me) - Cabernet wine (her) - 6 oz Filet, medium rare with Au Poivre sauce - Wedge Salad - Cream Corn (shared with table) - Mashed Potatoes (shared with table) We loved it all! The filet was perfectly cooked and the Au Poivre sauce is amazing. We can recommend Meehan’s to anyone looking for a great steak, top notch service, valet parking at a fine dining restaurant.
Best fine dining option in Mansfield, Texas! Convenient (and complimentary) valet parking. We were seated in the smaller dining room by a window for an enjoyable evening. Our server and her team were knowledgeable and nearby without lingering. Everything we tried we would recommend from the crab cakes appetizer to the chocolate soufflé. Steaks cooked perfectly. Brussels sprouts were addictive. Wine list is adequate.
Talk about an excellent experience. Had a business meeting here, but did we did not go light on the food and drinks. We started with the seafood tower, which I guess we were hungry as 0 photos were taken. The oysters were great. I didn’t ask, but they tasted like east coast oysters to me. The shrimp and lobster cocktails were also great. The crab mixed in with some veggies was very good, though I’m not a huge fan of celery. I got a wedge salad (modified my way), as well as a 6oz Filet and a Grilled Lobster tail. It was all phenomenal and I left so full. I also had the special old fashioned that has peanut butter whiskey. Quite good.
The atmostphere, the service are exceptional but they lack of good food in my opinion. We had the hafl dozen oyster and the oyster were very tiny, my bf ordered rare steak and it was medium cook, I ordered the sear ahi and the fish was too over cooked, not a rare and red looking like how I had it before in another place. Luckily we ordered side dishes and we filled with mushroom and spinach. The side dishes were worth eating lol. I never left any food but I had to leave the ahi on the plate. The service were great though.
This was our first visit. The restaurant has only been open two weeks. The atmosphere is great. I had the NY strip and my wife had the filet, the steaks were cooked perfectly and were very good. For sides we had the brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The parmesan cheese sauce on the brussels sprouts was unique and very tasty. The potatoes and Mac and cheese were delicious. We ended the evening with a chocolate soufflé and crème brûlée, both were great. For the price point and high end nature of this restaurant, the service lacked polish. We were constantly lacking silverware and had to ask multiple times for steak knives or for more bread.
We really had a great time! At first we had to wait awhile but seated ourselves at one of the tables in the bar area! The baked bree was amazing! Entrees were abit overpriced compared to other fine dining places! Service was good! Bartender knew his drinks well! Id recommend them but it is pricey!
Beautifully renovated downtown Mansfield restaurant with a touch of sophistication and high end menu choices. From the looks, I would estimate at least a $10 million investment was made to this property. We had an 8:15p reservation and they were running about 15 minutes behind so we started with 2 old fashioned from the bar. Nice selection of liquors to satisfy most taste ranges. I had them make our drink with Bulleit Rye Whiskey. Well made cocktails by knowledgeable bartenders. Will have them make mine less sweet next visit. The signature 'M' pressed into the square ice cube was a great touch. You can also order restaurant menu food from the FCFS bar seating area without reservation. The lovely solid oak interior dining space is well designed with several private rooms of varying sizes and a central divider all working together to reduce the ambient noise and deliverer a private feel to your dining experience. Yes, as mentioned in other reviews, the chairs are large, comfortable and a little tight for the table spacing...but I really like those chairs. Knowledgeable and well trained staff and management were very attentive. Bottle of can't miss Justin Cab to start with their delicious crab cakes. Accompanying sauce had a nice spice that went well with the cakes and corn relish. We had the Duroc Pork chop and a Seared Chilean Seabass. Both coked to a perfect medium to preserved optimal moisture and tenderness. They remade my pork shop, without my asking, and a manager came to our table to notify us that the first one did not finish to their standards. Notification was appreciated, a slight comp would have been nice. Pork chop was tender and delicious, presented with the long rib bone attached. The Sea Bass was flaky and tender but could have used a touch more seasoning. My wife actually dribbled some of the Brussel's Parmesan Cream sauce on the Sea Bass to kick up the flavor. Side of Mac and Cheese was acceptable...an add on option for lobster should be on the menu. The Brussel Sprouts in a rich parmesan cream sauce were delicious. I would recommend cooking them quartered, instead of halved, since they were so large. Overall, a great upgrade for downtown Mansfield. Well done, for the length of time they have been open. I expect continued refinements this year will be incorporated to get the recipes up to what is available from similar DFW establishments. I will review the Henry's Cigar Lounge with it's giant TV screen and full bar area at a later date. 12/19/23 update: Couple of Woodford Old Fashioneds got us going in the right direction. Brussels are delicious and perfectly cooked. 6 oz filet and lobster were delicious. Crab cakes always a favorite and love the slightly spicy relish accompaniment.
We have been here 3 or 4 times and it's always A Good Experience. Nice Grown Elegant Place to Go On A Date or Romantic Nite, ( Dress To Impress). Has Cigar Lounge Attached To, just As Nice. Valet Parking. Prices Are Reasonable. Food Is Excellent
My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here, and it did not disappoint. My steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, while my wife’s pork chops were juicy and flavorful. The sauce on the Brussels sprouts was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, and the owner stopping by to check on us was a nice touch. To top it off, we received a complimentary dessert in honor of our celebration. A fantastic dining experience all around!
We booked private room for a birthday dinner here. Not many people in our party but the restaurant tables were all occupied. Great food & service. Chops were definitely the best. Drinks collection is amazing. Last was the desert served by the restaurant which was strawberry cheesecake topped with a candle. Yummy flavours. Loved everything
FAIR I am comparing this restaurant to other chophouses which I have experienced in other cities. They overload their dishes with way too much sauce. Potatoes were huge and loaded. This does indicate inexperience. This place is new since 2022 so there is room for improvement. I do not know if there is another chophouse in the area.
My visit to Meehan's Chophouse presented a mixed experience that combined positives and areas for improvement. First and foremost, I must commend the restaurant for creating a captivating atmosphere and a delightful ambiance that made my evening enjoyable. The staff, too, played their part by being nice and accommodating, which added to the overall positive impression. However, where Meehan's Chophouse could enhance its offering is in the realm of its culinary creations. The dishes, while well-prepared, lacked the imaginative seasoning that could have taken them to the next level. Each plate, though decent, left me yearning for a more robust burst of flavor to make them truly memorable. To improve the dining experience, I would suggest that the kitchen team at Meehan's Chophouse experiment with more creative seasoning options. Incorporating unique and flavorful spice blends or infusing dishes with herbs and spices could be the key to making their menu items stand out. Additionally, offering a selection of house-made sauces or condiments for diners to choose from could provide that extra layer of personalization and flavor. Round 2 First and foremost, I must commend the restaurant for creating a captivating atmosphere and a delightful ambiance that made both evenings enjoyable. The staff, too, played their part by being consistently nice and accommodating, which added to the overall positive impression. However, after two visits, I still have yet to taste something that truly stands out. The dishes, while well-prepared, continue to lack the imaginative seasoning and bold flavors that could take them to the next level. Each plate has felt just okay—decent but forgettable—leaving me yearning for a more memorable culinary experience. To enhance their offering, I’d suggest the kitchen experiment with more creative seasoning options. Infusing dishes with unique herbs, spice blends, or offering house-made sauces could add the depth and personality their menu is currently missing. In conclusion, Meehan’s Chophouse offers a beautiful setting and excellent service, but the food still falls short of being the highlight. With a stronger focus on elevating flavors, they have the potential to become a truly remarkable dining destination.
Very delicious steak house. Very delicious sides. The Meehan’s brand wine is terrible. Although, it is awesome that they have their own wine blend. I would think something from the Russian river valley might be available, and perhaps it is. I was sold on the house blend. The filo wrapped Brie is simply ridiculous. It is a must have. The steak is cooked perfectly, as you would expect. This is a Michelin star restaurant. We had high expectations of the place. Sadly, the expectations were not fully met. Maybe the staff didn’t know where they were working. Our server was a pro, but the 13 year old they have working in the front are just too juvenile. These kids don’t know what courtesy is. So, you spend a fortune on a meal, you’re expecting some courtesy. Seems like an easy win. Management: hire and train more knowledgeable staff.
Steak was not good ,16 ounce New York strip, was tough, fatty not cooked properly. Sent it back. Service was great. Seabass was delicious along with the blue crab cakes and dip. Keylime pie martini excellent , mac & cheese bland. Clam chowder soup tasted like it was from a can and extremely salty , more of a broth.
The service is spectacular. We love the ambiance was romantic and quiet. As far as the food, my wife loved the crab cakes. She ordered the filet and lobster. Her lobster was delicious her stea, on the other hand, was not very good. She had to send it back because it was so dry. She ordered it medium rare. The second one came out, and it was mediocre. I ordered the New York strip, and it was recommended by the server. Also, I ordered the mac and cheese. Mac and cheese are worth fighting over. It is the best I have ever had. The steak came out and was dry. I didn't send it back because I felt bad. Since it was our anniversary, they treated us to créme burlée and it was delicious also. I would highly recommend going for the crab cakes, mac and chees Créme burlée and lobster. For the price of everything and the quality of the steaks, I am disappointed. I will not be returning to this restaurant for steak. As far as the service and the side dishes, I would go back.
The service and atmosphere were excellent! My key lime martini was yummy!! My seafood plate was not. The sauce was bland. The lobster was overcooked. My mom had salmon and said it was ok. My husband had the lamb chops and said they were amazing. The warm spinach salad and calamari were both really good! The mac n cheese and asparagus were both ok. If we choose to dine here again we will try the steak. Altogether it was a bit overpriced.
Pretty good! I the warm spinach salad was very good. I omitted the bacon and cheese on the spinach salad. All of their dressings are made in-house. Nothing special about the cocktails, but the fries are amazing! I just wish they had more vegan options, but I do understand that it is a steakhouse.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a reservation earlier today before noon for 8pm today. We arrived and they did not have our reservation, due to their system being down. I showed them our confirmation email for the reservation. They asked us to seat in the bar area to wait for our table. Silly me thinking they would fit us in asap. Not the case. While at the bar, which was not full/ busy, it took over 15 minutes be acknowledged. Once the drink Menu was given to us, the waitress was MIA for over 10-15 minutes. Finally ordered our drinks and went to go check on our table since it had m been over 35 minutes. Went to the hostess desk and asked the young man, he said “oh I can seat you now.” I asked “how long would I have waited to be seated if I didn’t come check on our table?” Crickets. As we walked to our table, I see over 10 empty tables, the young man walks us all the way to the back corner and seats us next to a glass wall, very tight space. The waiters came and we informed both of them that we just ordered drinks at the bar, the waitress came back with a bill, “the bar said you have to pay before you can get the drinks.” Ok, no problem, not sure why you couldn’t just roll it to our dining bill. We received the drinks, absolute TRASH. The nastiest drink I have ever tasted. I picked up the drinks to take back to the bar and the manager asked if there was something she could help me with. I told her about the drinks and we proceed to the bar for a refund. I should have known the drinks were not going to be great; when ordering we asked for anejo tequila and she acted as if she really didn’t know what I was asking for. This was a complete disappointment from the moment we walked in the doors to when we left. Pictures show how empty the dining room was to have made us wait so long with a reservation and seat us in a corner against a glass wall.
Food is terrible. Service is bad. Too expensive for no reason. We went there with my two kids for my wife’s birthday. Had 4 different plates, soap and sides. None of them tased good. Never going there again!!!
If you're not a regular, be prepared to be entirely ignored. This place has really gone down in customer service from even earlier this year. We sat in the bar area for lunch on a Sunday. It wasn't that busy even. The bar tender took our order, but didn't write anything down. My salad came out but my meal never did. Everyone was pretty much done and we never got checked on, but he was happy to be all over the regulars. Calling out if they wanted their usual drinks as the were getting seated right next to us and checking in them repeatedly while not even looking at us. The manager came by and refilled waters at one point. I had to wave him down to get the check. He offered to have it made to go, but I already watched the table eat and really didn't have time to wait for that to be made and come out and have to eat it all soggy and kept in a box. For what we paid, not worth it at all. I used to recommend this place to everyone, we were in fact bringing guest from our of town to try it this time and got to be embarrassed that this was our "you have to try this place" stop. The fact that I tipped at all is kind of infuriating me. No one asked how it was, no manager checking in on us after, as he was never notified by staff there was an issue... I'm on my way to McDonald's now to get a freaking burger. At least I'll get the service I expect there.
I do not leave reviews like this lightly. I have been thinking about a recent visit and the way I observed people being treated, and I cannot seem to let it go. This was not our first visit to the bar, which made the pattern easier to see. The bartender, Kendol, rarely engages with guests unless there is an opportunity to perform. Greetings go unanswered, conversation is minimal, and interaction only seems to surface when it allows him to signal how skilled or impressive he believes himself to be. The tone carries across the room. Most noticeable is the way he speaks to staff. His tone is clipped and pointed, often delivered in a way that draws attention for the wrong reasons. At the same time, there is a strange absence at the bar. Guests are left waiting while he disappears into a corner to eat, leaving people watching an empty space longer than they should, while the other bartender appears to handle the entire room alone. I bartended through college, and my husband is a restaurant manager in Dallas. We recognize the difference between focus and affectation. The drinks themselves are fine, but the smug service is difficult to sit through. It makes more sense to skip the bar before a reservation and wait elsewhere rather than linger in an environment that feels unnecessarily stiff. The contrast is striking when compared to the servers on the floor, who were attentive, warm, and clearly invested in the people they were serving.
