Food is obviously SMACK but the workers here were so nice and attentive :D !
Damn good BBQ! Meaty Brisket, without any greasy fat! Just the way I like it! Jalapeno sausage is killer! Sides were also good! Is there better BBQ? Of course, this is Texas! We don't joke about our BBQ! Lol. Dickey's is definitely worth stopping by and having a bite!
We loved it! Everything was cooked perfect. We had the family picnic, half turkey half brisket. On Sunday kids eat free. Who wouldn't love their FREE ice cream!? Mix it with root beer and get one of the best tasting root beer floats you can find! The manager was very attentive and checked on us at least twice, then came back again to make sure our kiddos knew about the free ice cream! Really enjoyed our meal here!
We have only been to this location a couple of times and for some reason we manage to show up about 30 minutes to close. These guys have been super awesome and food has been great both times. Super happy with the staff!! Thank you guys for making this a great experience!
The entire team working the lunch shift was very nice. Clean restaurant. After eating lunch my car would not start while parked in their parking lot. I was going to take me several hours to make accommodations to remove it. I went in there to ask them please do not tow my car, everyone was so nice and showed sincere concern. I work close by and will continue to choose this location
Chris did a great job with our order. Will definitely be back!
The place was secluded which was nice. I decided on the brisket baked potato and it was good. The potato could have been more fluffy but it was still delicious. The 2 people working were busy with to go orders and the drive through. Update 10/25/2018 They had the nerve to get me hooked on this lemonade and didn't have any when I came back. Lol. They promised to get more in soon. That's good enough for me.
Great place to get barbeque. I love their pulled pork sandwiches. The potato salad is really great and the fries are tasty as well. I love their barbeque sauce just drizzled over everything. The staff here is absolutely amazing though. Very nice and patient. I'm surprised this place isn't more busy.
The food was great and customer service was excellent. Cesar went above and beyond in his customer service and looked like he was the only one running the show at the restaurant inside and drive through while all other workers were looking busy and having sit down break meetings when Cesar could have used some help. Thank you Cesar for an exceptional food service experience!
Literally every single person I encountered on my last visit was exceptional. I purchased a pack thru the drive thru and they had gotten my order wrong so when I called up there the guy on the phone was so nice and said I could come switch it out. I did, and when I got up there they had my food hot, bagged and ready to go. When I got home the 2nd time I realized it was me that made the mistake and I was really embarrassed but appreciative of how everyone there handled my "Karen" moment and my replacement request. As always the food was hot, fresh and smokin good!!
I absolutely love this Dickey's! They get my order correct every single time and the Chopped Brisket backer's fully loaded are life changing. 10/10 will always eat again!
Excellent food and service, will be back
Cameron made sure the food was fresh and made us feel right at home will definitely be coming back
There's some hotties at that window the blue eyed gentleman adam i like him to do a dance for me at my nursing home.... Update I went to see my blue eyed angel but terns out I found a new love, this brown eyed handsome Diego that needs to pay me a visit now
Food is always amazing and fresh. I'm so surprised it's not as busy as it used to be. However anytime I'm craving something filling and savory, this is the go too for sure. Brisket and turkey are so extremely tender. Chiefs kiss 😘
Both the Chris’s on staff were very attentive the moment I walked in. Answered all my questions about the different sides and made my first experience at Dickeys excellent!
Great customer service. Food was delicious and can never go wrong with the potato salad. Will definitely be back
We love stopping after Sunday mass at the dickies location on 75/ by the post office to have lunch and every time Leo is here he does an amazing job with our food, service and experience. Food is always fresh they are always taking great care of their customers, he even removers our favorite foods. We love it here!
Adam’s meat was fantastic today - the veins on his arms looked great today, but his blue eyes looked even better
We love Dickeys! Super good, Texas style Barbecue. The staff is always super friendly and service is always speedy!
I love their food. It’s fresh, low fat turkey, chicken, and even lean cuts of pulled pork. When I’m dieting and need to avoid processed foods or carbs, sugars, and fats… this is the best drive through to stay on course. Their service is great because they hire caring people who know what customer service is.
Diana goes out of her way every time to help me with my catering orders, even at the last minute. I don't have to wait. I do many events for lunches and she is helpful, friendly, and the food is great and ready. This is my go to place and the doctors and staff are always very pleased. THANK YOU!
Great older restaurant. Food is always delicious. Beverages taste great. Convenient location. Friendly staff.
Had a great experience here overall. The food was great, I had the pulled pork sandwich combo with the Mac and cheese, and a drink. Food was fresh and hot, it was season well and the spicy bbq sauce really helped it hit the spot. The Mac and cheese was very cheesy and every single bite was great. The Manager Cameron Cuellar was the one who attended me and even came out to check on me as I was sitting down eating. The place was clean and not too crowded, although I did come outside of peak hours. Would visit again in the future.
The brisket was very good and the baked potato, mmmm. Great country atmosphere. Service was friendly and fast. Would recommend, the new GM, Cameron, took time to say hello, which was impressive.
By far the best BBQ I’ve had! Im from out of state so Im not used to such great hospitality! Diego especially was super friendly and made my whole family feel like we were his priority!
Chris and Christian were excellent hosts! Prepping our order as requested, very friendly and helpful! Food was excellently seasoned and at perfect temps! We'll be back!
When I arrived, there was no wait. I was able to order immediately. My sandwich was hot as expected. The mac and cheese was nice and hot, too. Everything tasted delicious.
Cameron was great to me personally enjoyed the service. I always get them same thing here just a brisket sandwich and a side never fails.
The food is always great and the atmosphere is super chill. The employees are amazing. If you ever pass by make sure you make a stop and grab a bite!!
Had a great experience at Dickey’s Barbecue! Christopher T. went above and beyond with his service—friendly, attentive, and made sure our order was just right. He really made us feel welcome and taken care of. The food was delicious, but Christopher’s customer service made it even better. We’ll definitely be back!
Baked potatoes are my go-to at BBQ, and this one was fantastic. Generous portion of brisket and toppings! Cameron was amazing, making sure to check in on us. The service here is great! I will definitely be back!
I was craving wings and google maps sent us to Big wing which finished by being Dickeys, husband loves BBQ, so, we decided to try. I really hope the guy is making the salary of 3 people because he was receiving our order, cooking and ringing people up. He was awesome and the service level was great, but for sure, that's a lot for one person. Wings were delicious, we may grab our for Superbowl here.
Super friendly staff. Nice and clean inside. They have a good variety and quality food. I don't like that they changed their service trays to match places like Rudy's (food all jumbled together instead of compartments).
The brisket here is excellent! I ordered the three meat plate with that and sausage and turkey, and my wife ordered the pulled pork plate. 😋 so delicious, including the green beans and salad (two sides) that comes with the plate. The the dining area is cozy with a low light setting, lower than in the fast food places but not too dark to see. Ok, now the hard part for me... I'm not a fan of the rolls. They are not unlike the taste and texture of a bagel, in my opinion.
I love Dickeys food and used to not like this store because the people in there running it. But today, Store people named Dianna and Bobby and how they made my food to how they handled my stay makes me want to come back more. So ty Bobby AND Dianna for reminding me why I like this restaurant. So I hope the owners use how they do biz and run the store as a reference on how to do it and keep people coming in.
Average experience last week. Good eats, but it took a bit of time to fulfill the order, considering it was a quiet night.
Ribs were great. I liked the Allen location with Jumando and Greg and Yesenia better. Also I wasn't allowed to get my own pickles n onions. Bbq needs that.
This place has the best bbq I've ever had, ever! A little more upkeep on the landscaping outside and a lot more effort keeping the bathroom clean and this place could be the hottest joint in Texas!!
Had some coupons to use up and it was worth it. Got pulled pork sandwiches and some sides with my mom and despite it being completely empty (other than the employees) the food tasted great. Only issues was fries were too salty and meat was a bit dry but it tasted awesome nonetheless. service was also very friendly.
Dickeys is solid reliable BBQ. It isn't the best in Texas but it's good without the crazy long lines of more trendy places. We went in the afternoon and there was no one else there. I hope it's because we were there during off hours. It's good. I hope it sticks around.
Brisket is very dry and sweet tea tasted musty/moldy. Gave the guy behind the counter some friendly feedback. He offered me a moist fatty part of meat, but I had already eaten at that point so I said, no problem I'll get that next time. Told him about the tea saying that he should try it and he'll confirm it. All I got was a couple of grunts and him looking down to continue working. No offer of partial refund or at least some initiative to make the tra right or try it. About a half offer to make it right. Spent $35 for 2 meals. My wife likes her meat well cooked and not fatty, but even this was too dry for her. High price- Average food
After I ordered and paid in the drive thru they told me they were out of French fries. And they did not have any sweet tea and they gave me the wrong order. One meat instead of 2 and they repeated my order correctly to confirm. The food did taste pretty good, but the rolls are not the best.
The food tasted good, I got the Westerner sandwich with brisket & turkey, but the meat was cold. Aside from that, the drive thru service was nice & the food did taste good. I definitely need to mention that I showed up during a slow period, about 3:30-4 pm.
6 pm on a Saturday. Brisket was not bad and the sausage was tasty. The green beans a bit too salty. The meats went cold almost immediately. Soft serve station was unclean and there was trash left on tables. It's ridiculous to have only two tables full and the place be in disarray. It seems like the few times I've been (to different locations even) the staff though friendly, just doesn't care to wipe it up. A sticky disappointment over all and once again. It feels like you're at a Greasy Spoon, but not in a good way. If I go back, maybe I'll just take it to go and plan to reheat it when I get home.
Very friendly service. Changed things up in that they serve your sides. Out of rolls and Turkey, 10 minutes for rolls and 30 for turkey. Ordered moist chopped beef, very dry and tough, chicken was good. Will give it another try before not coming back at all. Everyone has a bad day.
First, I've been a customer of Dickey's original location for many years. Had the opportunity to meet Mr. Dickey back in the day. I ordered food from a delivery service so knew there would be an issue with temperature and was ok with that. Small portions for the price. You always cut brisket across the grain, not with it. Simple rules of barbecue. Green beans were too salty for my liking. Order of fries was very small. Some of the best sauce in the business but didn't get any with the order. Can't say anything about the restaurant itself since I wasn't there. I don't believe Mr. Dickey would be happy what what I was served today.
Normally one of my go-to places for the brisket sandwich. There seems to be some differences between each location and this time wasn't as impressed as normal. Brisket was underwhelming. Hopefully someone reads this and just reviews and takes it as the positive feedback I intend it to be
Service was nice, especially the two guys at the counter. The girl at the drive thru was okay. I wish they allowed take out for the free kids meal on Sunday. Pulled pork was kinda greasy and the Mac and cheese was kinda thick.
Went to the drive through. Speaker doesn't work so had to order at window. Would be helpful to have a menu available for customers to figure out their order. Poor lady had to read off her tablet various items. My family was very disappointed to learn Dickey's no longer has rolls, but a lame piece of toast now (nothing like Raising Canes quality). No fault of this restaurant as it is a chain wide change. Besides this, meal was great. I love their dry rub wings!
I go for the smoked turkey but they never have it. The place almost always looks like its going out of business. Its so sad. They have a great location.
My experience at Dickey's was literally hit and miss. They started selling Hamburgers that is simply amazing. I went there to have my 2nd one, and they told me it's On Line only. So disappointing. Due to the fact I'm a foodie, I stayed and ordered. The ribs were excellent, the corn was too salty, the okra was fresh lightly salted and very good. The cobbler wasn't good at all, and finally the cheese sausage was pretty tasty. Again it was hit and miss.
This location has done a couple take away orders for me. I was never happy with my orders. They were always missing a side or the side was wrong. The portion sizes are very skimpy compared to other locations. The biggest complaint I have are the Snarky Employees. I can look over the other things but Rude Employees I will not Tolerate. Take Away costs too much hard earned money to deal with attitude.
$20 sandwich with no meet on it.This location is stingy as hell. Hard height BBQ gives 1 pound brisket for that price. No wonder empty at lunch time.
We're from Texas so we expect bbq to be expensive but I had the 3 rib combo. I could hold all 3 ribs in my one hand, and I'm small. When I leave a bbq place and I'm not full after spending $50 for 2 plates, you can bet I'll never be back. We do not recommend this place.
The food etc is good, but the fact they decreased portion sizes while raising prices is pretty sad. $15+ for a small sandwich; side, and drink is crazy. You can get better BBQ with larger portions for that price.
Bought take out, Friday, 8/1/25, that was the priciest yet. $70 for 1 lb of brisket, 1/2 lb of smoke sausage, 2 family pint size sides and BBQ sauce. No rolls or pickles. The brisket was dry; potato casserole was old; and the coleslaw was bitter (not enough dressing to keep it fresh). We are done with Dickey's after being patrons since the 70s.
Always come into this location and food is great however walked in a 1:30 and they were complete Out of brisket. Was told sorry we sold out already which ok I get it but at 1:30 pm on a Sat afternoon? Who did your brisket forecasting seems like he is about as accurate as the weatherman.
Don't even waste your time with this place. Ordered wings online at 5:20pm (website says they deliver) after an hr and a half of not hearing anything, no email updates or movement on the "order tracker," I tried to call this location 6 times, no answer on the phone. Hopped in my car and drove over there, arrived around 7:06pm, only to be nonchalantly informed "we don't really deliver" and had no idea of my order, and told me it'll be ready in a couple minutes as they pulled stuff out of the freezer and I had to inform them of my order. While sitting there for the "couple of minutes" for them to prepare my order that they knew nothing about, the manager walked up to me and asked if I was waiting for something, which I explained I was waiting for my wings. When my wings were completed and ready, they forgot my fries, and made them with one sauce instead of two as per my order. At this point my frustration was even higher so I spoke with the manager, and she informed me that sometimes the tickets do not print when ordering online through wingboss, and that she was "sorry" and took a photo of my emailed receipt. My food was finally ready and I left the restaurant at 7:21pm, 2 full hours after order was placed online. There are 100 more places that you can buy overpriced wings from, and not be completely insulted in the process. Absolutely ridiculous treatment, regardless of if the wings are even good or not, I will not be returning for any reason.
I usually don't eat at Dicky's because compared to other BBQ places it's just not good BBQ, but I can usually rely on their smoked sausage. So knowing I wouldn't have any wait I ran to pick up a little, wish I hadn't. This was the A#1 worse sausage I have ever had. Dry, over cooked, tasted like it had been out a few days. I used to say they can do better, now I believe they just need to close up shop.
Terrible service, sarcastic employee who judges what you order, nobody like this should be in the service industry, it is a blot on your landscape for such employees to be working there, and who also lie about stock, doesn’t listen to what we request about the specifications of our orders, lies about barbecue for some odd reason, I’m genuinely perplexed an individual like this works in the service industry. Would I recommend this place? A resounding NO. I’ll gladly drive an extra 20 minutes to go to another dickeys simply to avoid giving this dickeys money.
I typically visit this spot for the brisket specially their burnt ends, but today’s experience was incredibly disappointing. The blonde girl working was very unprofessional and rude, and the other employee didn’t even seem to know what type of meat he is cutting. To make matters worse, they claimed they didn’t have any, all while cutting into a freshly cooked brisket right in front of me. It’s astonishing that the staff seems so uninformed and lacks of customer service. This place seriously needs to train its employees better… what a letdown.
Portions was very off. Got the 2 plate. Had 2 thin slices of brisket and a big pile of turkey they both tasted plain. Only had pickles and onions on the cold bar and only have frys or green beans. The worse dickey I've been to. For the over price food here you can get better at Hutchens down the street. Don't waste your time here.
Ordered online to be told by my delivery driver that they were out of half the meat I ordered and all the sides. Restaurant substituted ribs when I didn't ask for ribs and genuinely do not like them. I paid $47 and got meat I didn't ask for, no sides, no drink, no pie, and no toast. Give people what they order or call them when you are out so they can cancel. I demand a refund for this unsatisfactory experience.
Received wrong order on Father's Day. Both McKinney locations phone numbers listed on their official website don't work and cannot contact any store. Just want our food.
I usually always have a really a great experience at this location- but yesterday was not one of those times so I'm changing my review. I placed an online order- instead of reaching out to let me know they were out of what I ordered, they waited until I got there. I wanted a refund, but they were unable to do that since there was no manager. The employee was so rude and unhelpful. Asked to replace what I had ordered with a loaded baker- and that is not what I received. Very unpleasant experience. If you guys are out of whatever a customer orders, don't treat the customer like it's our fault. Update- emailed Cameron per the response to my review a week ago, and never got a reply to my email. It's obvious this person just copy/paste responses, but doesn't actually care about your experience.
Was not impressed with this location. The food was very average which normally doesn't bother me if I'm in a clean place with good service. We've eaten at Dickey's before in Dallas and had no complaints. The restaurant in McKinney, TX was sorely lacking in customer service. We visit TX often and love it for it's hospitable food establishments. I was ignored twice when I asked a question at the food counter and was given a Caesar salad in a cardboard cup with separate dressing. The romaine was all core and I returned it. Upon returning it, I wasn't spoken to, or apologized to. We ordered okra and were not communicated with and told it had to be fried first before we could receive it until we asked. Weird. Persons in the food service should be able to communicate with their patrons. I never give reviews on Google, this is my first. But I will remember this establishment and be sure not to visit it again.
16$ for this and a barbecue sandwich and a drink. I won't be back. I went to 1050 bbq the night before. Got 4 brisket torpedoes, mac n cheese, baked beans, chocolate pie and a drink for $22. Unless Dickeys does something drastic. I don't expect them to be around much longer. There's not a single reason to go. And there's not 1 thing at Dickies that doesn't taste better at 1050. Bye Felicia
Food was okay but the service was horrid. We planned a fun picknic and this was our big extravagance for the week. We spent $31 at the drive thru to get the MOST miserable and unfriendly service and when asking for condiments you would have thought I asked her to kiss my dog. Unreal truly. Fries half full sandwiches 75% bread. No wonder the parking lot is always empty. I highly recommend going to Plano for Dickys. I won’t be back to this location. Shame on them
I hate leaving bad reviews and never do but I was disappointed. This was a door dash order. My entire sandwich wrapper was soaked in oil. My bread was VERY soggy and the meat was 90% fat. I know pork is very fatty and oily but not like this. I was also missing my side and drink when I got my order. I drove to the store to show that I was missing items and as soon I walked in I was told they were out of all their meats and most of their sides. I showed him the quality of the sandwich and I was told there was no manager there and the amount of oil was normal due to it being pork. Also was not able to get a name of a manager.
I walked in one late afternoon to an empty restaurant. No customers at all except me. There was one young lady and a a guy behind the counter. No greeting what so ever, just ignored me. Several minutes later I finally asked if they could see me standing there. The girl said it's up to the guy to serve me. He just looked up and smirked. Didn't say I'll be right with you, didn't say anything. I left and went somewhere that would appreciate my business.
Placed an order on my app to pick food up at 5:45 pm. We got there to pick up order and the 2 young kids working there said they were out of all the meat we ordered and the only side they had left was green beans so they couldn’t fulfill my order. They had no idea how to cancel my order or give me my money back. There was no manager available and we were told the manager would not be back for a week. The app would not allow me to cancel my order. So now I have no food and I’m out $40. How do you run out of food before 6 pm when you are supposed to be open until 9?
Ordered 4 lb brisket that was supposed to be sliced, but came chopped and full of huge chunks of fat, only half of it was edible. The salad was brown, the potato salad was mushy like they blended potatoes- not consistent with a potato. I will never be back to this location. Scratch that, I will never be back to dickies!
I ordered a giant baker that came with a few pieces of fatty brisket. Every single piece of meat was mostly chewy fat that I ended up spitting out. I won’t revisit this location. I wish I had read the reviews 1st.
We made a stop tonight for a couple of sandwiches and sides to go. We are still just looking at this excuse of bbq chopped beef. Entire serving on both sandwiches was inadequate but the worst of it was how it looks . Extremely fatty and full of gristle. Was supposed to be finely chopped but it was so tough it wasn’t even cut up. No sauce no pickles or condiments and two skimpy sides of potato salad. We are so incredibly disappointed. We won’t ever be back again. McKinney has so many great Bbq choices to pick from. How are you still in business? Over $30 tonight hit the trash can.
The guys working were nice enough, but I drove through at 6:00pm and they had no turkey, no mac'n cheese, and the brisket was so dry it was barely edible. Terrible, and I highly doubt I will be back.
I ordered the most simple thing a baked potato. How do you mess a baked potato and it was disgusting plus the food was cold waste of $15.
They have creepy guys working at night. One of them came out to hand me my food (not even through the drive-thru) and I had to lock my car doors because he got way too close and started asking personal questions… like ??????. I’ve avoided going there in person, but even with delivery they mess up my order ALL the time, missing items or swapping stuff. Don’t EVER expect to get what you actually ordered. I gave it a try today and of course half my food was missing. How is it possible that I’m still hungry and paid around $25 for one plate.
I took my kids to this BBQ on Sunday Nov 15, 2025 arround 7:30 pm. One of the kids ordered a brisket. He was not asked if he wants chopped or sliced brisket. He was served leftover chopped Brisket. When i asked why is he been served chopped brisket, the worker said "This is all we have left " Once we got home and eaten, my son began vomiting arround 1 am and it when on and on all night and the next day despite giving him some over the counter medications. He missed school on monday. I can tell by smelling the food that it was not kept safe. Maybe they even served us BBQ that slept over from previous day or/and poorly maintained. I have been on many BBQ places with my kids. We never had any such painful experience. I am going to report this restaurant to the county health department for investigation. No customer should spend money to buy food and get sick from it
I wen't there aurond 7PM on a sunday night. We took the food to go "There were only 2 waiters there i have to say i can never visit a resturant that will make my stomach hurt, and have me throw up in the middle of the night unbelivible"Back to the point and when i was there the mexican young waiter said that there was only chopped brisket and im like the suasege was not even cooked to my likeing the brisket had no flavor, and when i was done with my food i felt horible beacuse my i had no sleep that day my stomach started hurting i had to wake up at 12AM to through up and i throw up 5 times that day, and i was sick for two days throwing up it was huorendess. The place smelt like there was mold in the kitchen they had leftovers and threw the rest in the trash after being done with serving us. And it wasen't even time for them to start checking out there was plastic in my minors food and she didn't like it either so i will not be going back there.
Tried to go here for lunch and after waiting 15+ minutes to order was told they had no brisket and only half the sides. I’m not sure why a sign couldn’t be put on the door or even why the worker couldn’t let us know as soon as we walked in. We went down the street to Spring Creek BBQ instead and had hot delicious food.
Workers literally stole the UBER EATS order unreal. Then refused to remake it they were too busy eating it. Told us someone else stole it and that they werent interested in helping resolve it. That I was the 5th driver to come for it. I have an idea....instead of screwing over a good customer and 5 drivers how about you take care of people thats what business does. They had an attitude from the moment I walked in I cpuld tell they werent about the business and for management to review this it was at about 6pm Saturday I will try to get exact time I cpuld be off a little
After getting my order wrong and giving me the wrong sides and no utensils to eat them with . The food was absolutely disgusting. I only stoped there because it was the easiest place to get to off the freeway on my way home to Oklahoma from Texas and I was starving and didn’t want to get lost . I should’ve just patiently waited. Wasted time and money.
First time trying the food at any Dickies location while on my way home from a work trip. Firstly, I googled a burger restaurant, big deal burger, which was supposedly at this location. Turned out not the case but I love BBQ so I figured what the heck. I'll try this place. Ordered a 3 Meat plate so I could try a few different meats. A sampling is what I got. At other BBQ joints, for 25 bucks I would have leftovers to take home. The less 1/4 cup of Pulled pork was cold before I reached my table. Tasted like roast vs BBQ. Chicken had a good smokey flavor but the portion was laughably small and a bit dry. Jalapeno sausage was fine but dry. I didn't expect a lb of each meat but my goodness, for the price I expected a bit more. Based on this visit, it will most likely be my last.
The location in McKinney needs an upgrade and it’s just too expensive. You got young kids working there that don’t know what they’re doing and the food is days old. This is the 2nd time that these young boys were there and I ask for lean sliced brisket and he gave me big chunks and with lots of fat on it. Made me sick to my stomach. My toast had mildew on it. I posted a picture of the little white old spot on the toast. This is ridiculous. It even smell old. The sides like the beans and Mac and cheese literally all of it are days old also. I eat left overs from home. I don’t expect to be eating leftovers from a popular restaurant like Dickies. I really think you need to close that location before someone gets sick and then you’ll be regretting it. I’m just giving the owner a heads up of what’s going on at this particular location. The last few times I ate there it hadn’t gotten any better so I won’t be going back.
