Awesome atmosphere and delicious pizzas!!! Bar is nice too. :) Updating for 2024: Still delicious pizza, great staff and overall vibes. Come during happy hour and you won’t be disappointed. The white pizza with hot honey on the side is the only thing I need in my life.
Restaurant is housed in a historic Walnut Hills fire station with artwork to capture the history. There is a parking lot across the street and street parking available. Seating area is visibly open to the kitchen and wood fired oven. No servers so you find a seat and grab a menu on your table then go to the bar to order. Look for any specials on the board. Soft drinks are self serve while beer is served at the bar. They have specialty pizzas or ability to create your own in small (9-10”) or large (14”). Food came out quick, well presented and did not disappoint! There are paper plates, utensils, and paper towels at the table. Menu includes appetizers, salads, calzones, pizzas and some hoagie options. Staff were friendly and we even struck up conversation with other patrons.
Wow, what a great inviting little spot. Historic and fun eclectic. The pizza's are top notch with lots of fun options. You really can't beat a good wood fired pizza and this place gives you just that. Friendly and engaging staff know their pizzas and drinks. This would be a good place for a date night or drinks with friends. Definitely on my recommend list.
Everytime pizza is amazing. Take out is great, but dine in is a cut above!!
We chose Fireside because the atmosphere looked so fun online. Once we got there, we were greeted and told to have a seat wherever and come up to the counter when we were ready to order. The man who took our order was enthusiastic and good at his job! We did a meats pizza but subbed angry sauce and it was so delicious! One of the best pizzas we've ever had. We would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend trying it out.
Awesome little pizza spot located in a historical old Fire Station.
I am of the opinion that fireside pizza is the best woodfired pizza in the city. We had the veggie pizza and the Greek salad. The salads are amazing. Very comfortable place. Super nice employees. Love the building and love what they have done with the interior and exterior. Make this place a regular haunt.
Excellent+ best local pizza joints in Cincy!
Great pizza, great staff and the meatballs are FIRE!
Great atmosphere. I was from out of town this weekend. Tried their pizzas which were amazing. They were so helpful and friendly. I ordered takeout and got 2 pizzas in less than 15min. If I am ever back in town will definitely come again.
Highly recommend! We had the bbq pizza and a calzone… best I’ve ever had. Can’t say enough good things. Laid back atmosphere and wonderful service!
Best pizza in Cincinnati. And hands down the best place to sit and eat it.
For a Saturday night, the place wasn’t too packed. The Caesar salad came out quickly and was great. The pizza, 9” Redlegger, was delicious. Well cooked and seasoned. Would recommend for a fun pizza and beer place. They also have board games and other fun things. Most importantly, they use old VHS tape boxes to notate the different tables.
Nothing about it I could say bad, was fantastic all around! The pizza is top notch, and really can't beat the historic firehouse atmosphere
This is really cool space, service is “fast casual“ but it works in this concept, and the food is the star. I’ve been eyeing this new meatball hoagie on social media and now it’s a full time menu item. It was nearly perfect. Light, flavorful meatballs, fresh mozz, fresh basil, red and Parm. The coolest thing is that a dad and daughter came in right before close and were obviously sheepish about ordering and (I assume) the kitchen manager came out and made sure they felt comfortable about ordering a carry out 5 minutes before the kitchen closed. I love this. Highly recommend. Good food. Good people.
Absolutely amazing! I’m close to Chicago so I’m super biased about my pizza and this place knocks it out of the park! Great food and prices.. This place is a must if in the Cincinnati area.. Might make the trip back just to visit this place.
I hadn't bought a pizza from Fireside for a while but walking home and wanting something good and quick to eat I stopped at Fireside. That was the best pizza right down to the garlic dusting on the crust. Loved it 😁 Thank you!!!
Fairly new to the area and wanted to try a local pizza place. My goodness what a great tasting pizza. The dough, the sauce, toppings all tasting fresh and not being overly greasy. Definitely one of the better pizzas out there. The inside is cool decor. The gentleman behind the bar was really nice and friendly. Will be be on my go to list!
How awesome is this place?! A hidden gem with tons of history, restored and art hung to honor its fire department roots. The beer list is extensive and they have cocktails too so something for everyone. The pizza is TOP NOTCH. Made in house dough that’s light and has its own taste but doesn’t take away from the pizza itself. Try the pesto plus- loaded with homemade pesto sauce and pine nuts, or the red legger- pepperoni and red onions are superb on what feels like your more traditional offering. Service is fast and friendly. Absolutely must go
Tasty! Went with the family for lunch on a Saturday. We each ordered wood fired pizzas. The crust is absolutely amazing. Ordered sauces to dip the crust. We also shared the Meatball appetizer. Everything was delicious. 3 microbrews on tap. Drink menu. Order your food and beverages at the bar. There are pizza condiments next to the self serve soda fountain machine. Hot sauces, oregano, salt pepper etc. The atmosphere calming and is family friendly. The building was an old firehouse, station 16. Great photographs from that era.
Honestly, this place was a sleeper. The true gems are the specialty pizzas they create. They have made dinner of the most unique and delicious pizza flavors I've ever experienced with ingredients like brussel sprouts or taco inspired toppings. The standard pizzas are also excellent. Top pick for Cinci pizza.
Love Fireside! Great food, drinks and neighborhood atmosphere. My faves are the Redlegger, the Meatball Sub and Chicken Caesar salad!
My husband is obsessed with oven fired pizzas. So, when we realized this place was around the corner from our condo,it was immediately a must visit. We needed to carry-out. After ordering from the easy to navigate app, we arrive slightly early and our order was waiting on us. We had friendly service, perfectly crisp crust, and tasty pizza ingredients during our experience. We hope to visit again when we return to Cincinnati.
The food was amazing and on point the pizza crust was nice and crisp the cannoli was made perfectly
Fireside Pizza is the best brick oven pizza I've had in Cincinnati. It is located in an old firehouse station and there are even murals and pictures on the walls from when it was a functioning firehouse. The pizza is delicious and there are various specialty pizzas as well as a seasonal pizza that is changed every month or so. They have a fairly wide choice of beers including a changing draft list as well as wine and liquor. It's great for kids and it even has 2 arcade machines! The history and feel in the restaurant is amazing. I love the white pie with bacon and jalopenos, and basically all of their seasonal pizzas. Fireside just started Monday trivia night, and occasionally have small bands that play in the evenings - a cool touch. The fact that they can deliver if you're down the street at a bar or close by is awesome. Fun and highly recommended!
Chill warm downtown vibe with bare brick walls and high ceilings. The menu was classy and to the point.
Service was great. Went to the counter & looked at the menu for a bit before deciding we wanted the "Meats" & the Cannoli. It has a great atmosphere from the lighting, setting the mood of gathering & a great time. Went around 4ish so not too many people on a Monday. Remodeled from a fire station, the pizza was good. Got the 9", a great amount of tomato sauce & nice crispy but soft texture when taking a bite. Took about 15-25 mins for the pizza, to the right of my picture, there's more seating with tables up to 4-6 people. Bar tables & bar stools to the left. You'll receive cups to choose from their beverage machine. Overall, would definitely come around again & try their other stuff. Also the Cannoli, never had it but had a hard texture with the soft cream inside. It tastes weird, I can't explain it even 2 weeks later, cream cheese but not as sweet as I expected. I would pass on that next time but definitely looking forward to their drinks & more pizzas.
Definitely a treat to visit tonight! Ordered the white specialty pizza and Greek salad and it was the perfect combo. Highly recommend for the incredible food and warm and inviting atmosphere!
Comfortable atmosphere the pizza was outstanding had the white and meat pizza during happy hour everything was half price the fire pit for the pizza was awesome absolutely Top Notch highly recommend experiencing it
Very nice space. Staff excellent. All pizza, calzones and some salads. Cannoli, house made, for dessert. Well worth a visit. In an old firehouse, some old mementos of back in the day. Easy parking nearby, outdoor seating for when it warms up. Limited taps but quality. Very good can selection.
Had the Greek salad (special order with Italian sausage) and a large veggie pizza. *Chefs kiss. The salad was cold and crisp and the pizza came out exactly as we ordered and service was very quick. Everything was delicious and super fresh. Loved the old firehouse decor and the friendly atmosphere.
This is my favorite Pizza in town. Genuine food, the ingredients are fresh, the Pizzaiolo know how to bake a pie, salads are fresh, everyone gentle and welcoming… Great job, my compliments to this Team.
I live in walnut hills and have been to fireside several times over the last two years. I always have a good time and the food is great. My favorite combination is a Red legger pizza with banana peppers and a $6 pitcher of pbr. The environment is very relaxed and a good place to hang with friends. They have picnic tables outside to allow for social distancing and hand sanitizing stations throughout the inside.
Excellent pizza. Have had this pizza both at the Madeira Farmers Market and at the restaurant on McMillan. The Margherita pizza is very good, the Meats pizza rocks and I highly recommend the Eli's BBQ pie - it is absolutely amazing. Great decor in the restaurant and very good service. Get the lunch special, pizza, drink and an awesome cupcake for $11.
Ordered gluten free pizzas and a Greek salad to go. Everything was fantastic. I marked a gluten allergy and they called to check on food prep processes. The dressing on the Greek salad was SO GOOD. All the sauces on pizzas were fantastic and much gave we foodies homemade vibes.
Had a great dinner at fireside, love the overall vibe, the music, the friendly service, the seat yourself and take care of your own dishes attitude but at the same time they got you if you really need anything. We ordered a Greek salad and what came out was enough for both of us to split, I put $2 down to add chicken to it and they served up real actual chicken, like very high quality very tasty, very large serving. The seasonal pie, the Brussels Crow which is not just an amazing name but also an amazing combination was delicious and makes me want to come back to try more of their regulars as well as their specials when they happen. Great spot!
Tried for the 1st time couple weeks ago. Been back twice since. Can't go wrong with the basic pepperoni, although one time my crust was a bit charred in some spots. The meatball hoagy was good too. Trying the canzone next time.
Great place for pizza and beer, with friendly service. Red Legger pizza was perfect with crunchy crust and delicious sauce. Greek salad was fresh with just enough dressing. Games were fun way to entertain kiddo while waiting for food, although there was little wait time. This was a great find!
Went there once in the summer after a Cincinnati Hikes event and they were amazing! I still think about those connolies 🤤 writing this review because I noticed the lack of ICE outside their place 😉 Almost as if their warm energy melts any frozen heart.... keep up the good work, see you soon
i grew up in new york and i don’t like most pizza around cincinnati. and while this is different than what i grew up with, i love it. the pizza is great, the service is great, and it’s run by wonderful people. they have my full support.
Best pizza I’ve had to date east of Chicago. Have been there twice, once coming through for work and again coming back from a trip with my family. Both times the pizza has been absolutely fantastic, and got the cheese bread which is almost better than the pizza!!! My wife and kids loved it and can’t wait to go back! And the vhs covers for table markers are great!! Price is very reasonable for the pizza you get!!
Pizza Quality = Excellent. Topping count = average. Meats pizza underwhelming toppings. Angry Sauce = Spicy Enough to let you know. Approved. Meatballs w/ Ricotta and toast = MouthJoy. Happy Hour specials on food and drink a steal. Service = Passing Grade. Atmosphere = Top Notch. Menu overall = elegant simplicity. You should go here and eat!
Great place and great pizza! We went here because of a coupon....had NO IDEA what to expect. The bar/restaurant was cool, laid back and I loved the forced perspective photos! We ordered the white pizza, the specialty "kraut pleaser" pizza and the meatballs. Everything was great! Nice selection of beers and mixed drinks as well. Staff was awesome and friendly! Will definitely be back for more!
My son and I stopped by after a Bengals game. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The Greek salad, cheesy bread and pizza were fantastic! Best cannoli ever, too! Can't wait to come back!
History with flavor. This is in a historic old fire house building. They have the pictures on the walls to prove it. It was interesting to look around at it all. But let's get to why you want to visit. We had the Eli's BBQ Chicken Pizza. MAN! The crust was amazing. So light, airy and flavorful. They do not drown it with sauce so you actually taste the chicken, which was simply so good. Drizzled with sauce. The red onion was a spectacular addition. The service was great and friendly. Wonderful place for Pizza, salads and more.
I would put 6 stars… but google won’t let me. Great food, great service and a rock star owner (literally). This place gets busy, so come early. Small bar available for those just wanting a drink and a slice… also great for families to come and dine. The interior design is very interesting to view, bringing a bit of life into this historic building. The owner is super friendly and the staff all were on point to help. We will be back!
Passing by and found this great spot for pizza. Building is from 1867 and the developer turn the old fire station into a pizzeria. Very good pizza, bottom has a good char from the oven. Pizza sauce taste like their own recipe/homemade, and it has plenty of sauce and cheese on the pie. Sauce might have too much water in it because ingredients slide off pretty easy once you pick up a slice, other than that no complaints. There is a bar and a couple of TV that you can enjoy your food and the game at the same time. Excellent place to bring friends and family
Fireside Pizza is an absolute gem housed in a beautifully restored old fire station. The historic charm of the building with its brick façade and garage-style doors adds a unique, cozy ambiance that perfectly complements the dining experience. The outdoor picnic tables offer a casual, inviting vibe that's hard to beat. Now, onto the food—it's phenomenal! The pizza comes with the perfect balance of crispy, slightly charred crust and gooey, melted cheese. Each slice is loaded with flavor, making it clear they take pride in their craft. The calzone is golden-baked to perfection, stuffed with fresh ingredients, and paired with a delicious marinara that adds just the right amount of zest. If you’re in the mood for authentic, wood-fired pizza served in a one-of-a-kind setting, Fireside Pizza is the place to be. Highly recommend for both the atmosphere and the top-notch food!
Friends of ours invited us to go support this restaurant and we are so glad they did! It’s a beautiful building with interesting history and that’s just the beginning! They were friendly from the minute we walked in! You order at the bar and sit wherever you want! We had the The Meats Pizza added mushrooms and onions. And I think the salad was a House Salad (husband ordered it for me). You would think the salad would be just basic. But it was incredible and the server was correct, small is perfect to share! The ham, eggs, onion were cut perfectly so every bite was delicious! The cheese bread ROCKED! Our friend said if the pizza is as good as the bread it will be incredible……all TRUE! I don’t know what pizza they ordered, but it looked great and I stole a piece of ham….oh my perfect!!! You will not be disappointed if you take the time to go and try this restaurant. We will definitely return!!
Great pizza and calzone. Nice people. Cool little spot. Lots of gnats was a little annoying. Only a couple draft beers but still a good can selection.
Meatballs are good, made in-house real ricotta cheese. I'm not big on lots of sauce. They prepared my order to my liking. Great music , comfortable atmosphere. I will return.
Pretty good pizza at a fairly reasonable price. We got the Redlegger and the Pesto Plus with mushrooms. There was nothing wrong with the Redlegger, but the pesto pizza was the standout. The flavor of the pesto was so good and we made the right choice with mushrooms as the additional topping. I like that they have a soda fountain and you can get your own refills. I also generally enjoyed the many other serve-yourself aspects of the place - the only service you get is having your pizza brought out to you. You get a record on a stand to mark your seat, a nice twist on the # system a lot of places use. While the bathroom was clean, it is a bummer that there's only one for the whole place. I could see this getting really annoying when they're crowded. My only other complaint is the general location - it's kind of out of the way and not really near anything else.
The pizza was so good, if I could rate it a 4.6 on here i would but I can't. I ordered bbq and a double pepperoni. The pizza was warm, slightly cheesy, and tasted 10x better with the ranch they had. I preferred the bbq because it's bbq was sweet and that sweetness paired with the vegetables it had inside it tasted really good. The service was good nothing wrong with it, they took our orders at the front desk and had us wait in whatever seat we wanted. The atmosphere was so good, they had paper plate drawings on the wall which were really cute and made me happy and the music made me feel great like it just paired with the feeling of pizza really well. Basically everything was good you do have to pay for the ranch tho which is a bummer but I don't mind. 4.6 for me!
A place to visit if in town. Large hole in the wall pizza place with an urban makeover. Old fire station redone into a pizza joint. The vegetarian pizza was great and savory. Definitely steps above pizza chains. Great craft beer, locally sourced. Fresh ingredients. Would visit again! Enjoy the picture of a half eaten pizza.
Great atmosphere and great food. I am sad I didn't get to try this earlier. Visited during the Cincinnati pizza week and tried their special with the sweet potato and the Margherita. Both the pizzas were so good with so much flavor. If you want to know how good a pizza place is you should definitely try the Margherita. They have a bunch of different dipping sauces and oil options. We tried the hot oil with our pizzas and it was so good. Will definitely return to try more of their speciality pizzas.
I am in the neighborhood every Thursday to volunteer for LaSoupe, and finally decided to stop in to order lunch pizzas to go. Love the atmosphere of the place. The staff is so friendly. I ordered a make your own pizza with red sauce, and a white pizza with additions. Here are my thoughts: 1) The dough is fantastic 2) The amount of toppings are great 3) The red sauce is tomatoey but very salty, combine that with pepperoni and the result is a salt bomb 4) The white pizza cheese combo is the fabulous and a generous amount for cheesy goodness. 5) The wood-fire cook on the pizzas was perfect! This may sound dorky, but we keep a record of all of the pizza places we try all over the city, and this place belongs in the top 3 for sure.
Stopped at this restaurant by chance and truly enjoyed it! I had a Cesar salad and was able to try the white and pesto pizzas.. everything was delicious! The beer and wine selection is adequate. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant suits the theme. I love that they use old VHS boxes as the table numbers. It’s definitely worth a try!
$85 for two pizzas and some cheese bread is craaaaaaaazy. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but man for that price go to Taglio or Dewey’s instead because those taste better and they’re cheaper.
I selected this restaurant basically at random from my phone while approaching Cincinnati on my way home to northern Indiana. I was in the mood for pizza and wanted a local pizza shop and after pulling up choices, I selected this one. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and cheese bread. The cheese bread is a 10 inch thin crust pizza without tomato sauce but with parmesan cheese sprinkled over the surface along with Italian seasoning. It was served with a nice tasting marinara dipping sauce. The 14" hand tossed pizza was loaded with pepperoni and had an adequate amount of sauce and cheese. It was far from the worst pizza I've had, but nothing I would make a special trip to enjoy. Service is cordial, but there is limited interaction with staff as your order is taken at the counter and it's self service for drinks and everything else afterward. There was a nice young woman roaming the floor, cleaning tables and keeping the dining area very clean. Atmosphere was very casual and tame, with low noise level. Unique place. Food is not disappointing.
The atmosphere was great, friendly and happy. However, our large triple pepperoni pizza. Had very little if any pizza sauce on it. Initially we ordered a side of sauce. But when observed the couple seated next to us at the bar. It wasn't worth $2 for 2oz. Literally you seen no pizza sauce on our pizza..
Have been there a few times, usually a really good time. I went in for happy hour to have a few drinks and wait for a friend to get off work so we could get some pizza and hang out a bit. Happy hour is from 3-5. I arrived at 3:30 wanted to have a few drinks and place a timed order for the food to come out at 4:50. I said I still get the happy hour price right? The gentleman said no, it would need to be made during the window for the sale. I said wouldn’t it be though? He then told me how they were doing me a favor by having happy hour and how I was taking advantage of it. Being I was planning on staying there and having a few drinks while I waited I don’t really understand how I was taking advantage. I felt he was pretty rude and unprofessional. I decided to spend my money elsewhere. I told him thanks but I will go somewhere else. Went right around the corner to Gomez Salsa… 100% recommend! Great food, great staff, great atmosphere!
Don't open a tab here. They closed out the tabs on everyone in our groups and added their own large tip amount and we were still there eating and drinking. Didn't sign for it or anything. Went up to get another beer and it was closed out. Not ok. You don't get to choose your own tip without my approval. Won't be back.
General manager is extremely unprofessional and rude. Disrespect with a side of average pizza, never recommending to anyone.
Food is barely average especially for the price. The unclean restroom door is open directly into the dining area and last but not least, the owners will refuse service to those who have differing views than their own far left views. Very scary if you happen to lean right or center right. There really is no place for this discrimination in a restaurant I’m sorry to see that this is happening
Ordered delivery. Can’t explain what a mistake this was. I can accept delivery is a gamble. What I can’t quite get myself to be philosophical about is when you call about not getting food you paid for and you get push back. No. I’m done with this kinda thing. This food is nowhere near worth it. I knew better and I ordered anyway. Just don’t do it. Go in and eat the overpriced mediocre pizza at least it’s not Papa Johns. Go for the face time with your friends and family. But don’t order delivery. Edit: I just saw the side of the box: too small to fail. that is super funny. I’d say too small to manage basic competence. Unfortunately. In a market this size maybe they think they get a pass, like I said, not being Papa John’s..
