From the moment you pull up, it's clear that The Shed is not just a shed. With indoor and outdoor seating, the family atmosphere is apparent and the seating is ample. The service is counter order but all the food is on display and the meat cutters are nice enough to occasionally let a small taste make its way off the boards and into a tummy. All the meat is well smoked and can certainly be considered competition grade. Although there is no table service as such, but the staff are all pleasent and friendly. Two meals with drinks, no alcohol approx $ 35. We don't get to Abilene often, but can understand why it's a local favorite.

I love the shed I go there at least Once a week!! I spend about $50 for two people and we get two huge sandwiches two sides and a dessert with drinks of course. The only thing is you have to go before they run out of food so I go no later than 2pm :) but the price is worth it! And the service is so fast

Ditch Chicken Adventures (Ditch Chicken)

Best BBQ yet! So much flavor and portions were just right. Brisket and pulled pork was extremely tender and delicious. The blueberry cobbler was heavenly. We sat outside and enjoyed much needed sunshine (from Maine so you know, just lost last bit of snow). When in Abilene, put this on your “to do” list for either lunch or supper!

Bring your wallet and plan to enjoy your meal! You can eat for cheaper, if you get a sandwich, but the plates are a little pricey, but worth EVERY PENNY. The beef RIB…holy cow!!! It was massive (and $40, because it was 1.9 lbs.!!) But it was falling off the bone and absolutely dissolved in my mouth!! I cannot ever visit without having their stellar brisket! Don’t miss this BBQ!! I also loved getting to watch the artist paint the hallway!

Lean brisket was very good. Pinto beans and fresh green beans were both good. Only suggestion...way less salt. Everything was way to salty for me. I would try again just to see if everything was over salted or just this time.

The place was clean and the service was very good. The one gripe I have is that EVERYTHING is full of black pepper. The meat was covered in coarse black pepper, which I've seen before, but not that coarse. I was taken aback by how peppery the sides were... the green beans, the coleslaw etc. The meat was cooked well and they were good cuts of meat, it was just overpowered by the pepper.

I have been here twice and I had 2 different experiences with the BBQ. First time the Brisket was solid and everything was pretty good, the second time the brisket was so dried out I didnt eat it and the meats didnt come out hot. Hoping I just stumbled upon a off day but the execution has to be better here the 3rd time for me to return again afterwards. They have Potato bread loaves on the table which is good, their sweet tea is good and their sides are solid. Indoor and outdoor seating and friendly people!

Stopped here around 2 on Tuesday. We are from Kentucky and this place is pretty cool. Food looks delicious but it is heavily peppered to the point that you can't enjoy the flavors of the actual food. Plenty of parking plenty of seating, loaf of bread on all tables. They get your food together in front of you as you order it so fast service, and everyone was 🙂

Everything has Chiles or peppers in it. You can't escape it, so my kids were really displeased. The adults send to enjoy what they had, though.

This has been one of my favorite and most often recommended places but as of late that is quickly not becoming the case with the prices going up and quantities going down. The last two times I’ve ordered a 2 meat plate I’ve gotten maybe half a sausage sliced up and a single piece of brisket. Then the brisket has been about half fat and much drier than usual. Editing to add the potato salad this time and I imagine this was by accident but was too salty for me to even eat a problem I’ve never experienced with the Shed.

Lets start with the positives. Good portions, good Mac n cheese, Burtn end were edible. Staff for the most part was friendly and helpful...except the staff member scowled at me for not wanting to partake in the community loaf of bread sitting on the table. I'm thankful his coworker was at work today, because he gladly gave me a few piece of bread from a fresh loaf...with new gloves on! The restaurant itself appeared fairly clean, but im confused on the A from the sanitary inspection with community loafs of bread on all the tables. The next person that sits at my table will be gladly to know the loaf is free of my cooties. Let me exit with one more positive...the Sweet Tea was Outstanding! Thanx, but no thank you, DFW

The shed is very hit or miss. I've had great brisket and brisket that tasted like it was cooked on an electric smoker. It was extremely dry today, even for lean.

Pretty dry meats, I've smoked better on my traeger at home. Also saw they don't support controlled donuts in an empty parking lot. Pretty disappointing tbh.
