Great new spot in Agoura, it’s located next to the Canyon. The service is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Food is fresh and delicious, we tried the egg salad toast, breakfast burrito, fig toast, and Mediterranean. My favorite though is the Rosemary Latte with coconut milk, sooo good! They’re only open for breakfast and lunch so come early 😀. The free guest wifi is great too! I’m able to hang out on the lounge area and do some work
Sunrose is an ABSOLUTE GEM! We have been coming here regularly for the past two years. The food, service and the atmosphere are all fabulous. Carrie & Marc have created a truly special place in Agoura. We most often come for breakfast & we love the Dutch baby pancakes, the Sunrose breakfast and the Mocha lattes. All of the pastries (especially the Orange Polenta Teacake & the Sultana Scone) are delicious as well. Recently, we started coming for dinner and bringing friends and Sunrose never disappoints. The Petaluma Chicken and the Mezze Plate are very yummy. Annd, let's not forget the cocktails and the Sticky Toffee Pudding...devine! Thank you especially for taking care of our friends tonight, Carrie & Marc. We all had a wonderful night :)
Sunrose is a vibe at night. The atmosphere is laid-back, low lights yet energetic, we went on a Saturday evening and they had an awesome DJ who played chill lo-fi/house-style beats that set the perfect mood without overpowering the conversation. The craft cocktails are next level, creative, well-balanced, and clearly made by a bartender who know what they’re doing. The food is just as impressive. The appetizers are perfect for sharing, and every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you’re stopping by for drinks, small plates, or a full meal, Sunrose delivers on all fronts. Great music, amazing drinks, and delicious food. This place is a must visit if you’re looking for a relaxed but stylish spot to unwind or have a date.
We went to their opening night for dinner. The atmosphere was great as was the service. The cocktails are conceived and prepared by Gavin. He is a master. Try the twisted Manhattan, cilantro cocktail and any mezcal drink. Happy hour is from 5 to 6. I had a delicious hamburger cooked to perfection. My guests had salmon, rock fish and steak frites. The hanger steak was super tender and tasty. The salmon came with quartered artichokes that were tasty, including the stalk! Dessert was fantastic. I am a visitor from Arizona and was inspired by the freeway billboard announcing that this restaurant was adding a dinner service. Let's hope they continue the quality that we experienced. If you don't want dinner, just go there to enjoy the wonderful cocktails made by Gavin!
This vibrant café serves up a fresh and flavorful breakfast with standout dishes like a stuffed egg white omelet, creamy avocado toast, and perfectly crispy patatas bravas. The lavender latte with almond milk is smooth and fragrant, the perfect pairing for a relaxed morning after a 2 mile hike. Great food, friendly service, and a warm vibe—definitely worth a visit!
Had to go check out this new place I’d already been hearing about and that was because they just had their soft opening. Great atmosphere, relaxing place to hang out, great customer service. I will definitely be back to work my way down their menu. The Rosemary latte was out of this world. It was perfect, I loved the fresh Rosemary smell and taste. I don’t normally eat fried chicken but thought I’d give this a try because it was matched will all my favorites- tzatziki, pickled onions and cucumbers. It had a slight curry flavor, the chicken was deliciously tender and crispy. I would have enjoyed even more of the pickled onions and cucumbers on top. It really compliments the dish nicely.
I typically don’t visit the same restaurant more than once—I like to savor a good experience and leave it at that. But Sunrose delivered day after day. I went three days in a row while on a work trip, and each visit was just as enjoyable as the last. The service was exceptional, and the management was kind enough to let me stay for several hours while I worked. I tried a few different things over the course of my visits—the breakfast burrito, smoked salmon flatbread, and a few lattes—and everything was consistently flavourful and well-prepared. Can’t recommend it enough.
The Best Eatery Around! If you want Cozy , Delightful Comforting Ambience. Delicious food for breakfast lunch or dinner this has become our new go to. From sitting down The decorating, plating and service are All perfect! The breakfast burrito is delicious. The miso chicken salad was so satisfying by far the best Thai chicken pasta I’ve ever eaten. I don’t care if it’s breakfast lunch or dinner the Hilo Black spicy tuna crispy rice is is a MUST. Paired with a Leaf of Faith. . . You can’t go wrong. Mark and Carrie Are always making sure that everyone is happy and satisfied. You’ve really outdone yourselves and hit it out of the park with this one. I can be here every day🩷
Came with a big group and ate family style. Tried almost the entire menu. The bread was top notch. The appetizers all hit the spot. And all of the entrees were great. The COD stood out it's a must try. Got to love and support a local spot that has great ambience and an awesome menu, highly recommend to those looking for an awesome place to eat!
Came to Sunrose with some girlfriends for dinner and drinks and had the loveliest time! The food was delicious and the drinks were perfection! I’m still dreaming about the short ribs 😋. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly/knowledgeable staff! Can’t wait to come back with my friends and family!
Sunrose California Eatery is everything I could want in a coastal California dining experience! From the fresh, locally sourced ingredients to the laid-back yet stylish atmosphere, it’s an absolute gem that captures the heart and soul of California’s coastline. We started with a Watermelon Refesher, which can be made with or without gin. And then the Patatas Bravas—crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and paired with a whipped ricotta that was just the right level of creaminess. Then came the Crispy Salmon, perfectly seared and served over a bed of vibrant, seasonal veggies. The flavors were bright, fresh, and balanced, as though each ingredient was handpicked that morning. The star of the night, though, was the Miso Chicken Salad. I never thought a simple salad could be so memorable, but the Thai basil was bursting with flavor, and the carrots and shallots were decadently crispy. Paired with a drizzle of local olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt, it was pure California on a plate. The setting couldn’t have been better. With large french doors opening onto a sunlit atrium with a water feature and contemporary decor, Sunrose California Eatery makes you feel like you’re right at home by the sea. And the staff was as wonderful as the food—friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the dishes they serve. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that captures the beauty, flavors, and spirit of California’s coast. I go back now every chance I get!
This place is amazing. The restaurant is beautiful as is the place in which it is located. All the seating is fantastic. The staff is warm and welcoming and will make you feel like family. But on to the food, because that's what really matters. I had a little of everything. The curry fried chicken with tzatziki is next level. This mixture of flavors was kind of mind blowing. I forget what it's called on the menu, but what amounts to Hamachi (yellow tail) carpaccio was equally fantastic, a bit spicy maybe for some with the jalapenos but that's just the way I like it. Pork belly sandwich was also great, though maybe could be fried a bit crispier. But the sauce on it was a game changer. Some other patrons actually invited me to try their crispy potatoes (that's how friendly people were) and they were PERFECT. All of these things were great, but there was something otherwise unassuming that really stole the show... the breakfast burrito. Combine those perfect crispy potatoes with some of the most amazing bacon I've ever had (smoky, maple-y, sooo good) and it actually shocked me how good it was. Don't sleep on this place. This is a great addition to the community.
Had a brunch meeting with a client here. Service was excellent and they made sure to keep my coffee topped off. Had the avocado toast with a fried egg. I'd probably order something different next time, but it was tasty and well presented.
My recent visit to Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills left me with a lasting impression of a culinary haven. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The egg salad and avocado toast were a perfect start, showcasing quality and flavor. The Sunrose Salad was a refreshing burst of freshness. The chicken was perfectly fried to a golden crispiness, and the curry infusion added a unique twist that set it apart from traditional fried chicken. Sunrose California Eatery in Agoura Hills is a gem for those seeking a culinary escape with a California touch. Whether you're a fan of traditional flavors or looking to explore innovative combinations, this eatery has something to offer. I left with a satisfied palate and a desire to return to explore more of their menu.
LOVE Sunrose Eatery! The design gets you immediately upon walking into the gorgeous Whizin Market, the restaurant itself is calming and warm, with a chic Scandinavian inspired design with a cool California twist. Marc and Carie the owners are the nicest and very attentive, as is the whole team there. The food is Spectacular with a yummy breakfast menu and unique, tasty lunch menu. All the ingredients are fresh and delightfully sourced. I haven't been disappointed in any choice I've made so far (been here already 4 times). Each experience has been wonderful, wether dining solo or with a group of friends. Also the cocktails are very pretty and equally delicious. The bar is gorgeous too! A must visit wether you're a local or making a drive to a gorgeous setting in Agoura Hills. (*Tip-Park in the back of the Whizin Market, plenty of parking. The lot directly in front can get busy)
What an amazing experience. I was at Sunrose the other evening for a spectacular New Dinner experience for my self at the restaurant and for Sunrose as well. This was the first time they decided to open up for dinner and the food and the service were spectacular. The presentation and the explanation of all of the meals as well as the drinks on the list were done very professionally. The former handled by the owner and our waitress and the latter by the bartender coming to our table. I have been at Sunrose for coffee and breakfast and I hope they find time to continue having some nights for dinner moving forward. Thank you again Mark for a great evening. Denis and Susan Dempsey
Amazing atmosphere, their Lavender Latte is MUST try ❤️ their dutch baby pancake is delicious and so delicate! Its just RIGHT! I had the Patatas Bravas for the first time. Yes I could eat all 😍 everyone is really helpful and attending as well as great attitude. Its pretty clear that they love what they are doing there. Sunrose team, Thank you so much to create this experience for your customers 🙏
I went to Sunrose California Eatery for brunch and the staff were really warm and welcoming. The food was delicious! The only small hiccup was that after ordering another coffee, we were asked a few times if we needed anything else while we were still drinking it. It felt like they might have wanted to give our table to someone else, which made it a bit tricky to fully enjoy the coffee. Not a big deal, but I wish they hadn’t rushed us 😂. Overall, a lovely place and I’d definitely come back!
I honestly don’t know where to begin. The service was so welcoming. The environment was clean and spacious. Almost like a modern tulum vibe. You aren’t sitting on top of the next table like most restaurants. We were greeted by the owner, Mark. He was a pleasure. Our server Bianca was so knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. Amazing 10/10 service. The food was 10/10. We ordered the sunrose salad, crudo (yellowtail), ricotta gnocchi, Thai chicken pasta and the smash burger with 2 drinks. Every single dish was delicious but the smash burger left our mouths watering. Sunrose will be our new go to place to eat. Definitely going to try the brunch next.
I grew up in this area, and honestly, this mall used to feel so dead. It’s wild how much it’s transformed. I was back in town visiting a friend and decided to check it out, and wow, totally different vibe now. Even for a weekday lunch, the place was buzzing with people. Definitely make a reservation if you want a specific time, because I’m glad I booked ahead. The atmosphere is super cute, and the food really surprised me, in the best way. I came in with low expectations, but everything we ordered was on point. Service was excellent, too. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. One highlight I have to mention: I asked for hot sauce on the side, and they brought out this house spicy sauce (not sure of the exact name) that was SO GOOD. If you’re into heat, definitely ask for it. It really takes the food up a notch.
Saturday morning for breakfast at this cozy restaurant. The food is delicious and the service very friendly. Is located behind the parking plaza where also is Basta, so you can park in any of those spaces and walk through beautiful stores around.
Wow this place is just so special. Culinary triumph with every dish. We had crispy spicy tuna which was out of this world, the shishito peppers with garlic creme fraiche that blew our minds and finished up with a sticky toffee pudding. Gavin is a sweet bartender and his margaritas, named "Gavin's Margaritas" were next level. Don't miss this place!
My coworker surprised me with a warm matcha latte and a blueberry muffin from Sunrise California Eatery, and both were exceptional! The matcha latte was crafted to perfection, the texture was velvety with a natural earthiness, and the matcha had a deep, layered flavor that was rich yet incredibly smooth. There was no bitterness, just a beautifully balanced blend with subtle sweetness and a comforting, calming finish. You can tell they use high-quality matcha and prepare it with care. And the muffin… WOW! The freshness was obvious at first glance, and the generous amount of blueberries in every bite made the experience incredible: plump, juicy, and perfectly distributed throughout. It had that homemade bakery quality that’s hard to find. Huge shoutout to the baker! This place is highly recommended, a true hidden gem!
We're brunch people, so even when we're on the road we look for nice spots to start the day. If you find yourself in Agoura Hills or nearby, check out Sunrose. The people and the atmosphere are friendly. The deck area in the atrium is a great place to sit and enjoy brunch. My partner likes to get a side pancake or French toast but that wasn't an option. The owner recommended we try the Dutch Baby. It's a meal on its own or shareable and it's delicious---try it! Sunrose also has several healthy breakfast options like the Sunrose breakfast and the Mediterranean. I had the Sunrose breakfast and enjoyed the mushrooms and grilled tomato with eggs and delicious toast, and of course tried a few bites of the Dutch Baby. Just the right amount of food. It's right off the 101 so an easy detour.
Food was delicious. I had the egg salad on toast and a turkey sausage and both were so tasty. Nice quiet relaxing environment. Michelle was a very pleasant server.
Was in the area for two days, went to Sunrose both mornings for breakfast. I liked my egg white omelet. I also tried the Patatas Bravas and the steak and eggs as well. The Patatas were probably my favorite things. I loved my rosemary late, the place has a good ambiance.
I’ve been here 3 times with my girlfriend already in the last 2 weeks. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the view is great, the staff are sweet and most importantly, the food is amazing. It’s the perfect breakfast/brunch spot to go to. Emily and Jessica were such sweethearts to us, making sure we had everything we needed. The owner always comes around to make us feel welcomed, he even let us have a taste of their Orange Polenta (which was gluten free and amazing). I can’t believe this place isn’t known by everyone at this point, it really is a hidden gem. I’d make sure to have a reservation on the weekends since they tend to get quite busy then, otherwise, enjoy the food!
Loved this place. Such a wonderful find on my trip to Westlake. I ordered the egg white omelet with squash blossoms. It tasted delicious and looked so pretty. And when i asked for salt it was brought on a little side dish with a joyful note. (See pic) I also ordered the Tequila Sunrose....it delicious and very pretty! This place takes the time to do the little extra that makes such a wonderful difference. If I am back in this area, I will undoubtedly come back. Service was also wonderful. Great way to have started my day and week. Thank you 😊
I absolutely love this spot, every time me and my family are in the area we always make a stop. The food is incredible and they have the nicest people on staff! The interior and the vibe really add to the way it all feels, its very very cozy. It's a spot you can go to at anytime and its beautiful and highly enjoyable all the way around! Every single time without fail I'm ordering the miso chicken salad and the sausage & shrooms flatbread..j'adore..never fails xxx
Absolutely beautiful location, owners are very involved. Their new dinner menu is amazing and very approachable.
Came here for brunch and we had a lovely experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. Service was pretty quick despite being fairly busy. The photos on social media matched what we were served and the flavors were delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, the sauce on the burger was incredible and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Incredible restaurant! We went for brunch and loved every single thing we ordered. Owned by a wonderful phish fan who treated us like family. Can’t wait to go back and try more
We've eaten here a few times now, and it's become a local favorite. Light, airy atmoshere. Elegant but comfortable, not fussy. Lots of shaded outdoor seating. The food is fresh, and made in house. I had eggs and bacon, and the bacon was delicious, thick cut. Today we had some pastries and coffee. Loved the tender, tasty Sultana scone. Definitely recommend. (They do take reservations online.)
I have always been disappointed by ordinary blueberry muffins. They contain memories of berries, like shadowy ghosts of an idea. I’m not sure how this magic is achieved at Sunrose but this spot has crafted the world’s greatest blueberry muffins. Not to sweet. No chunks of sugar needlessly strewn over the top. And the berries! The blueberries are large and juicy and they taste amazing. It’s as if the chef tastes each blueberry before admitting them into this exclusive gathering. Maybe they simply select superior blueberries and have the mix down to a science or maybe they half bake them and then add the berries halfway thru? I dunno but whoever figured this out would be knighted if this were Britain.
What a beautiful restaurant! Everyone was super attentive and friendly—from the hostess to the gentleman clearing plates. We stopped by for a quick bite during Saturday brunch, and it was surprisingly efficient. We waited about 15 minutes for our table, which wasn’t bad at all. While waiting, you can grab coffee inside the restaurant—and it was delicious. Once seated, we were greeted with an orange cake that was absolutely yummy! The ambiance was great, with a live DJ playing while we ate. I ordered the steak and frites, which was cooked to perfection, and my friend ordered their famous breakfast burrito—packed with so much flavor. Brunch was such a great experience that I’d definitely come back for dinner hours. One thing to note: they are a cashless restaurant, so plan accordingly. ⭐ Highly recommend!
Every meal at Sunrose was fantastic, with thoughtful recommendations, attentive service, and cocktails that were absolute perfection. The mains certainly impressed, but the true stars were the appetisers. We shared nearly every appetiser on the menu and the sumac-dusted hummus with handmade, warm pita bread was unbeatable - except perhaps by the lamb meatballs that tasted just like my yiayia’s keftedes. They made me feel at home and genuinely brought a tear to my eye. For anybody else craving authentic Mediterranean flavours amongst an otherwise versatile and beautifully curated menu, Sunrose is a must! The evening ended with what might be the best sticky toffee pudding you’ll ever try, paired with a tailored dessert cocktail that was everything I wanted. I couldn’t imagine a better finale to the night. A flawless 10/10.

I was looking for a local spot after photographing a wedding near by and thank to google this eatery came up and once i walked in I imitating loved the interior design and the atmosphere of this place. Started off with a Paper plane martini and the chopped steak tartar, both flavorful picks! As my main plate Hanger steak chimichiri side of fries & salad. The steak of course was medium rare & damn it was good! I definitely recommend eating here.
First and foremost, I'll have to come back here again since we arrived around 4pm, so we ended up in between their Breakfast/Lunch menu and Dinner menu, and instead got their Golden Hour Menu which is a truncated menu with mostly Small Plates. With what is available, we chose the Patata Bravas - Japanese Sweet potatoes - and Sicilian Flatbread. The Patata Brava is the more complex of the two dishes, with Crispy Japanese Sweet potatoes, Aleppo honey, Fresno chilli, whipped ricotta, and pistachio dukkah. This is a very nice, layered fairly sweet dish that can play almost like a semi-appetizer or dessert. It can be a bit thick but it's worth swirling and mixing around the ingredients with every cut of Japanese Sweet potato to experience all the flavors. I would give it a 4 out of 5. The Roman-style Sicilian Flatbread is more straightforward in terms of taste and presentation. A nicer pizza, even. This consists of spicy Italian salami, pork fennel sausage, mozzarella, manchego, tomato sauce, soft herbs, and basil. They all work pretty well together to give it a good dish, but largely not too memorable. It's a 3.5 out of 5. The ambience is nice, bright, and cozy, and the Americano is pretty good. This feels like a place that may do better as a breakfast or brunch spot, but I do want to try both their breakfasts and dinner menu. Looking forward to coming back!
We visited Sunrose for the first time on a Sunday morning during brunch prime time so it was pretty busy. We had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait which was great. The hostess brought us to our table and the table hadn’t been cleaned yet, so we were left there waiting in the dining area for a bit until someone came to wipe it off. It was awkward standing around other people’s tables. A server arrived within a reasonable time after we were seated to give us menus and take our drink order. Our coffees came after about 10 mins but they were put into regular drinking glasses so we couldn’t drink them until they cooled down. Way too hot to touch. We overheard the table behind us say the same thing. The gentleman that brought them to us even mentioned they were too hot. I don’t understand why you’d serve someone a piping hot coffee in a glass that’s not insulated? They had coffee cups and that’s very dangerous to both the employees and customers! I’m honestly shocked that the server was able to hold them as long as he did without dropping them. I ordered the breakfast burrito and seasonal fruit bowl, and my husband ordered the brioche French toast. My food was great, definitely recommend the burrito. My husband mentioned the French toast was crispy on the outside and soggy in the middle and didn’t have a lot of fruit on top. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be. The service was ok. It was very busy so I was trying to take that into consideration. Everyone was nice, just took a while and we had to ask for silverware and I had to grab sugars and to go boxes from the cart on my own. They had a DJ who played some really good music! It was low key and had a good beat. I will definitely go back, but there is definitely a little room for improvement.
Great food, first time there. Tons of staff working but trying to get a refill ice tea was near impossible. We asked 3 times. No offer for coffee refill either. Strange. After our order don’t think waitress ever came to check on us. Drinks were empty and an easy refill if someone paid attention. Sat by the kitchen so tons of staff passing our table. Cute place.
Service was ok, our server (Jessica W.) was not as friendly with us as she was with her other tables around us, we heard her give everyone the same welcoming speech around us. Asking if they had been there before how they were, until she got to our table. She was dry never asked if we had been there before or if we had questions, but we didn’t let it affect our breakfast or our mood and I am glad we didn’t because the food was amazing and the restaurant ambiance was very warm and cozy. We ordered egg white omelette, avocado toast and a Dutch baby. Everything was seasoned well, fresh and tasted delicious.

Place is pretty. The Dutch baby pancake was good. Question about the Dutch baby though, why is there only like 5 berries on the dish? Sorta feels sad and scarce. Anyways, service was strange and slooow (they might be under staffed in bar). Nothing nice or special. Got steak frites. No. Not seasoned. Also, all the blood and juices from steak goes on the salad… not appetizing when your salad is dressed with meat juice. Maybe put salad not in middle of plate or a separate plate…? Had better food. Have cooked better food. Sad but gave it a try. Good luck.
