Really nice spacious coffee shop. The barista was really knowledgeable. Really like their specialty drinks. The cortadito is super strong and delicious. Their cafe con morro was also really good. Just the right hit of Sweetness
You absolutely need to try Abanico if you haven't already! The coffee is outstanding and so unique than anything you've tried before. The flavors all represent El Salvadorian culture and is crazy good! The owner is so pleasant to talk to and clearly passionate about her craft. The cafe has a very cool ambiance and is so welcoming. A must try!
Fantastic coffee, they made a perfect cappuccino in the blink of an eye
A hidden gem in the mission. Tried their specialty espresso drinks a few times and was wonderfully balanced in flavor. The barista was kind to answer questions. Spacious but not a lot of seating. Very clean for a business located in this neighborhood. Thinking of trying their coffee beans someday.
fyi, it was a bit difficult to find the street parking as it was a bit filled up on the main street when we visited. we made our way inside and the majority of the coffee shop had people sitting in the seats and enjoying a cup so it seems like they have a lot of locals who frequent here and order. i don't remember what the name of our hot beverage was but i can assure you that it wasn't too sweet and it was recommended by the barista which was nice of her. we were in a bit of a rush and weren't able to spend too much time here but i noticed after we ordered there was another small line of people beginning to form behind us to order.
Large space to sit and sip coffee. Lots of Latin American inspired latte creations on the menu that I have to try in the future. I did not see any outlets however, so may be difficult to do work with a laptop, but there is wifi. Coffee was nice, would come back to journal or sketch and have quiet time.
We really enjoyed coming to this coffee shop. Every time we come in here, I always like to try something different. So far, my favorite drink is the Cafe con Morro. The staff are friendly and the space is nice and clean. We also like their coffee beans. Our favorite is the beans from Honduras. We can't wait for them to bring them back.
I don't know why it took me so long to find this place. From all the places that I've tried around SF, Abanico has been the only place that have a sweet and creamy kind of espresso. It's all about the care in the process: they roast their own beans from Mexico and Guatemala, good equipment and professional baristas. Also, I just normally drink my coffee without sugar, but I'm totally down to try their signature drinks that I think are original.
Love supporting Latina owned businesses, particularly fellow Salvadoreñas. We got a cortadito and a morro latte. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable about coffee, the coffee was delicious and not sweet (perfectly balanced). We ended up leaving with a bag of beans. 😋 Edit: Based on past reviews it seems like the restroom is available for use by paying customers. The sign on the door does not indicate this.
I got a cortado. Absolutely delicious and the staff was very friendly. Great coffee shop.
Amazing specialty lattes and relaxed atmosphere. Come here every weekend to get lattes.
There's something special about this place. They have the general selection of lattes and coffees if that's what you're looking for but I highly recommend trying one of their specialty drinks. My friend and I tried the cafe con morro and the iced cafe de olla. Very different from what I've tried before! The flavors are complementary and add a special touch to your morning. The staff is very knowledgeable about each of the coffees so if you're confused just ask! The cafe de olla has a mildly sweet nutty molasses flavor. While the cafe con morro has a lively savory yet creamy taste. Will be back!
Abanico Roasters is a must-visit in the Mission. Their coffee is truly exquisite, with bold, robust flavors that stand out from the first sip. The customer service is exceptional, and the café is clean and beautifully maintained. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try another one of their coffees.
Walked a long way to get to this place and it was well worth it . If I had to pick one coffee shop in SF to go to ever back here. It would be this place. They have a very creative menu centered around Latin American flavors. The service was very friendly as Latin Americans are.
Love the location and the coffee vibes here. Lots of art to buy from Salvadoran artists. Coffee is amazing if you’re into seeds and chocolate in your drink.
Looove the vibe and the coffee! Really like the cafe con leche. Staff is so warm and friendly and welcoming too :)
Wonderful and welcoming baristas who recommended really good coffee options. Lots of seating with plenty of natural light streaming through. You might find it difficult to park around the cafe, so I recommend visiting early in the day. Try one of their signature drinks and you will not be disappointed 😊 Had this cafe been located in a different neighborhood, I would frequently be visiting it. The only downside is the "not-so-clean" streets around the cafe. But I'd definitely revisit early in the morning on a weekend 😊
I had a great experience here. Had the morning off so was walking around the neighborhood and I’ve been meaning to stop into this place. It was a great place to do the daily crossword puzzle. I enjoyed the music. They also have some local artists works up. I really like the open space. Had a cortado but I’m also interested in trying their specialty drinks.
We tried a bunch of coffee in this area, this one by the best one out of all of them. The croissant with chocolate was really good and we tried special coffee with coco y choco, which really good and my sister tried the cafe con morro which was good too but we found ourselves to be more of the coco choco gals. The cute lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful in explaining things to us, the cafe is nice and spacious and clean. You want good coffee stop by here
this is the café of my dreams. natural light, open seating, chill latin music, great drinks. their specialty drinks are latin-inspired, and the back wall had a cute mini mart of local artist ware like ceramics and drinking chocolate. they have wifi but only one outlet; great to get some work done if you charge up beforehand. there are pastries from Starter and Sweet Condesa available, and the staff are really sweet + conversational. i got the latte con coco y choco ($6.50) with oat milk (+$1). it makes me really sad to pay extra for plant milk but :’) sok im glad they have options. i’ll definitely come back!
This place has all the essentials on the drink menu and some pastries to choose from. It's surprisingly spacious inside, seats are cozy, and Wi-Fi is good if you'd like to come plug in. My basic oat milk latte was excellent and good quality espresso. My blueberry muffin could have been more moist, but I'd give it 7/10. I'd definitely come back to this shop and maybe even be a regular if I lived here.
Little slice of heaven in the mission district! 4.5 stars. LOVED the menu, so many flavors from home not offered at most places. We had the iced café de olla, cortado, and the morro latte —- all delicious! Customer service was also exceptional. Atmosphere is super cute and aesthetic.
Loved the Cuban espresso we had. I also shopped around inside the cafe, from local venders. I picked up some fun and cute stickers I’m excited to use in my journaling.
Love this place! This coffee shop on Mission St is bright, spacious, and has a warm, authentic atmosphere that feels unmistakably "Mission". The special drink menu is latino-inspired and looks amazing, of which I had delicious cortadito. Baristas (Davie and Dasa) are super friendly and made the whole experience even better.
Cute, spacious coffee shop walking distance from shops to explore afterwards. Best of all, the Latin inspiration and focus is awesome. I love supporting a local spot, plus it’s female owned! I returned a second time to get work done as they have wifi and a great big window to people watch. Floor to ceiling windows make it feel lively and brings in good lift. The shop also displays ceramics from different artists. They have enough tasty pasty options to accompany your coffee. If you’re looking for something more substantial then you’ll want to do that before or after your coffee stop.
This beautiful Salvi owned coffee shop features Central American roasts and specially crafted drinks with traditional flavors. My favorite drink is the Cafe con Morro latte, which is made with Morro seeds - the same used to make horchata Salvadoreña. On a warm Mission day you must have an iced cafe de olla. Slightly sweet and cinnamony. If you just need a quick pick me up, get a cafecito Cubano for that late morning slump. Even in the fall they had a central American twist on the ever popular pumpkin spice latte, which was made with traditional ingredients and topped with pepitas. Ana, the owner, is super sweet and radiates a love for artisanal coffee while honoring culture and cultivating a community environment. You can also find pastry pop-ups on some lucky days! Whack Donuts frequents on Fridays and Quesseso Quesadillas has also made an appearance.
The freshest new Mission coffee shop. POC, women owned. The space is super clean and open and I’m excited for them to get a Shared Spaces parklet. Ana made some time to chat, which was really appreciated! My cafe con coco y choco was great - can’t go wrong with condensed coconut milk. It was rich and creamy, but not too sweet. Soy, almond and oat milk choices available as well. No decaf yet, so I went full caffeine!
Café con choco y coco and cortadito were both insanely delicious!!!! Espresso is really great and so are their unique latine inspired drink options! Barista was so nice and the vibe of the place is great. Free wifi if you need — very chill ambience. 100% recommend if you like great quality coffee!!
It opened about 7 months ago! Tried a cappuccino and cortado coquito (sesonal) - the drinks were amazing and well balanced (not overly sweet). Lot of space to sit and inside. Must try!

Truly one of my top three coffee spots in the city. The drinks are unique without being gimmicky, the staff is so kind, and the aesthetics are delightful. They even have great ceramics and other small maker crafts for sale. I love it here.

A wonderful coffee place! Tried their cappuccino and a special drink. Loved them both. Their coffee has good texture and balance. Special drinks are Latin-inspired, blends with the Mission neighborhood. Interiors are vibrant and spacious. Baristas are friendly. They only have indoor seating. Disclaimer: Be vigilant of the neighborhood Definitely a great place to grab coffee

The place was nice enough and they had some unique drinks but they don't let customers use the bathroom, which feels insane for a place that sells a product that makes you want to use the bathroom. They do have a sign on the door, but if I hadn't walked there with a friend I would have just turned around (which I'd done many times before but forgot when we were looking for a place). I don't think they want you to spend any time there, which makes me wonder why they have such a large space to begin with. There are shops that are basically just a counter and they're really only good for to-go orders. That might be a better fit for this business; I don't think the current iteration makes a lot of sense.
$5 for tea. Free but slow Wifi: 43 Mbps down / 29 Mbps up on an empty weekday.
Not impressed by the coffee here. Do not understand the glowing reviews. I ordered the cortadito, and it was pretty mediocre. The woman who took our order was helpful. Decor was okay, but there was no bathroom!
Even though the service was good, my honest opinion is that the drip coffee is overpriced for what it is, but the worst part is that the place smells bad! It smells like pee … That’s unfortunate. The place INSIDE smells bad, unfortunately. It’s not a nice experience having your coffee while smelling something bad.
Decided to visit Abanico after seeing it listed as one of the best coffee shops in SF by SF Eater and also saw that it is Salvadoran-owned so I definitely was excited to try it. However, when I walked in to the location, I noticed their customer service can definitely improve. I was not greeted despite no one else being there. When I asked if there were any drinks similar to a Caramel Latte, I was told not anymore and offered no alternatives. When transaction was done, barista offered no thank yous or any pleasantries like other coffee shops offer. And the drink was Alright. Coffee is overpriced for it's location.
