Opinions de Tazaki Sushi Alameda
Been coming here since I was introduced to sushi. Hardworking staff. Great for SUNSET locals. Nice sake selection. The menu offers something for any taste. Just a great neighborhood restaurant.
WOW! I am long time sushi fan and got invited here tonight by some other devoted customers. I'd have to say this is easily the best kept secret FABULOUS SUSHI bar place I've been to in years! Fat and fresh and such tasty fish - we had Toro, ankimo, hamachi, uni, salmon Spanish mackerel, all to die for!!! I have been to many places in SF as a native, but this place just spoiled all the rest for me. Never going anywhere else ever! Fast friendly staff! Fantastic neighborhood find! And did I mention the prices were very very reasonable, even cheap! Just amazing!!
Really good sushi. chef is so nice and kind he customized my sushi to my liking and it was very good.
Tazaki is delivering, especially since it's getting colder at night to walk. Contactless payment is easy over the phone, and the driver tonight left food at the gate more than social distancing. Thank you! We still love the size and taste of the rolls and the fish is always so fresh!
Great restaurant. The Tazaki combo was delicious. Wonderful tempura. Thick, meaty sashimi. Fresh miso soup. Free edamame to start. The service was a little slow, especially for a weeknight, but the food more than makes up for it!
don't call yourself a san franciscan if you haven't had their n-judah maki
I love this place. I’ve been eating her for many years after my friends moved around the corner after college. I eventually found myself lucky enough to be living in the neighborhood. The staff is always friendly, the food is wonderful, and you truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. A must for all lovers of Japanese, especially those who are missing the tastes of grandmas kitchen.
Got the Ume Combo platter...top notch! Very reasonably priced for the amount of food, and super fresh ingredients! They had it ready within 40 minutes of ordering, which is reasonable considering the prep required for the order. Nobody was left wanting, as the platter satisfied the 4 of us. Everything was delicious! Would recommend and will return!!
I absolutely love this restaurant. I live in the area and frequent it as often as possible as the staff and quality of fish you receive for the price is quite good considering SF prices. Every time I have gone in the employees are in good spirits and seem happy which makes me happy too!
Very low-key family style sushi spot. Overall sushi and main entrees were on point and fairly priced, Bento special is great if you want to try 2 or 3 different dishes on one plate. Service was quick and courteous. If you can make it out to this area of the city, I highly recommend coming here. You won't be disappointed.
I've only come in to grab my takeout. The inside isn't very big, yet still nice and cozy. Could be a nice place to go with friends or a date. I have only ordered the Katsu curry and it does not disappoint. I'd definitely keep returning to this place to try out more items on the menu.
Fantastic sushi, top service! We have been ordering sushi from this restaurant ever since the pandemic hit, and they have the best service. (1) Sushi is incredibly fresh and well made, (2) the owner delivers the food and if you want to talk about great service, he has been the best, (3) price is right for top quality! Highly recommended
It's good sushi. The prices are lower than they should be. :) I like taking sushi snobs to this place. By the way, the servers are very attentive, which I did not expect. My cup of tea was never empty and never too hot to drink.
Best family owned sushi place where they know your name. Been going here since the 2000's when it was half the space. Very fresh fatty fish in decent size cuts. Sizzling platter fish is decent. Love my medium spicy clam ramen.
Our favorite sushi restaurant ... and we've been coming here for close to 15 years now. Reliably good quality fish at very reasonable prices. Over the last 15 years, the staff stayed almost unchanged. That should give you an idea of how great of an environment this is
For me one of the best sushi around. Good prices and good flavor. I recommend to have a noodles plate and niguiris. Attention is awrsome, the waiter is pretty kind. To drink a large bear will do the job. They stayed open till we left with no pressure for us to finish or to leave
I stopped here for dinner with a friend and had some ridiculously delicious sushi. The fish was wonderful and the texture of the sushi was perfect. The restaurant itself is family-run with attentive staff, and we never felt out of place or ignored. Everyone was super friendly and kind, and it seemed like a popular neighborhood spot as they often ran out of seats! There was even a cute little room in the back for large parties that looked like its own house with the decor. Overall I definitely recommend stopping by- I’m sad to just visit and wish I had a spot like this in my hometown!
I have lived just a block away from Tazaki Restaurant for 7 years and I have eaten here maybe 100 times during that period. The quality of the food is incredible, especially for the price. That said, there’s something special about the restaurant that I can’t quite put to words. I have taken people here that are visiting from out of town, I have eaten here by myself after a long day of work, I have made this a ceremonial place for when something is worth celebrating, and everything in between. And so it felt right to consider Tazaki Restaurant as the place that would host a reception dinner for my wife and I on our wedding night. I had asked Chef Tazaki if this is something he would consider and he gladly accepted. He worked with us to create a unique dining experience in that the restaurant would be closed for dine-in, we’d have our own private server, a full range of incredible sushi and Japanese dishes, and a chef-selected assortment of Daiginjo sake. Tazaki Restaurant has an authentic Japanese feel to it, one that is hard to describe, and yet it also has a characteristic to it that feels quintessential to San Francisco. You can tell that the chef takes immense pride in his craft and that the servers care deeply in ensuring that their guests enjoy their meal. My wife, myself, and our guests all had a wonderful night celebrating our marriage and can’t thank Chef Tazaki and his team enough for this experience. Thank you for everything! P.S. These are some of our favorites: N-Judah, Cherry Blossom, Summer Love, Omakase, Toro
My favorite sushi restaurant in the Outer Sunset!!! It’s the only restaurant I’ve found in the City that puts scallops in their 49er Roll. It’s so buttery and fresh - my favorite roll! We’ve also enjoyed the Eclipse (quail egg is heaven), Uni, salmon sashimi, Cal Roll and Crazy Rolls. Tazaki is the sushi chef and shops for fresh fish Daily. The service is always quick and friendly. Highly recommend!
Food 4.75 sashimi was fresh and butterfish platter was tasty but the Inari was mediocre, Ambiance 4.75 nothing fancy but local and lively, kids like sitting on the floor on the tatami mats; Service 5 we appreciate the attention to tea refills and the servers walking on their knees to help us, they did forget to give us the complimentary edamame but made up for it by offering the entire table ice cream; the food is consistent and the go to spot for locals and for those in the know; $87; 4 people
Excellent and bountiful sashimi. Diverse menu. Attentive staff. We went around 6 on a Friday and were seated though it got crowded when we left. Good food! Easy transportation by Judah St Muni tram
This is definitely a must try Japanese restaurant. Very nice staff and the food was amazing. We ordered a bunch of food to try and everything was absolutely delicious.
We came for my middle child’s 14th birthday and we had a really nice time and enjoyed all we ordered. We were seated right away too! Friendly staff! The Sweetheart Roll was super delicious! Highly Recommend!
One of the best Japanese restaurants in San Francisco and I'm lucky to have it in my neighborhood. The freshest of ingredients and very friendly service, can't go wrong with anything you order there
This was a fantastic find. Clearly a great local sushi spot. Very fresh fish. Huge servings. The toro was spot on and the service was just fine. Prices are on point as well. Parking was tough. I will definitely return.
What amazing food! I had the Chilean sea bass and the sauce they cook this with is amazing. The rainbow roll and ramen was amazing.
Had a lovely meal here. The food looked and tasted good. Service was fair. Not expensive, 15-20/person if you don’t order sashimi

Fantastic sushi spot! They are incredibly generous with their portions and the price is great!
Possibly the best quality/dollar value sushi in San Francisco. I lived in the Outer Sunset for 2 years, and that’s when I discovered Tazaki Sushi. It’s patently absurd how much sushi (it’s a TON) they include in their pieces/rolls. The service is always snappy, whether you’re ordering for pick up or dining in. I live in the Mission now, and I will not hesitate to drive to the outer sunset to get me some Tazaki. The N-Judah and Pink Lady specialty rolls are my go to, with the yellow tail Nigiri to boot.
Fresh, high quality, delicious sushi with warm and hospitable service. Thank you!
Local gem of a sushi restaurant and genuinely the best I've had across all of San Francisco. The nigiri is where they really shine, but the rolls are inventive, balanced and delicious also. Mr. Tazaki is a seasoned expert and a legend to behold. You can usually find him behind the sushi bar and ready to tell you what's in season or make you a custom roll based on your favorite fish. The staff are kind and have encouraged me to try new things which has always turned out deliciously! My absolute favorite is the tamago. Classics like sake (salmon), hamachi, and maguro are always delicious (especially in hamachi season in winter), however some other favorites of mine include the bluefin tuna, kampachi, shimaaji, and toro. The crystal maki is also so fresh and unique and delicious! This is also a beloved local gathering spot, and you can usually find friendly regulars sharing a sake at the bar or celebrating a birthday with the staff. We are so lucky to have Tazaki sushi!
Hidden gem, located in a residential area. Great value; the portion sizes are at least 30% bigger than other sushi restaurants. My favorite roll is Romeo and Juliet. Yakuza roll is also really delicious!

I would give them 5 stars for the food but they are lack of service. My food came out pretty fast after I ordered about 15 mins, my drink came out later almost 15 mins after my food and they asked me 3 times what I'm wanna drink after they already took my drink. This is not a big deal but a bit annoying while I enjoy my food.
Nice, quiet, unassuming sushi place in the Sunset. It was exactly what we were lookimg for after a long day - good sushi! My only complaint is the two-person tables were way to close to each other and my daughter and I were right next to two other people and basically in their discussion. The two tables were not even 6 inches apart. The place was not full, it was a Weds night so it would have been better to seat us at a different table.
We are happy to enjoy dinner at this location. The food is well priced and filling. Delightful food and staff.
Tonkatsu and Vegetable Spring Rolls were excellent. Very nice and friendly staff. Half of our table received their meals 10 minutes later than the other half of the table, but not a deal breaker. My table said the sushi was great. Would highly reccomend.
The food is great quality here and I usually go for the Tazaki combo. I usually go for pick up since it’s a few blocks away. i wait 40 minutes to arrive when they say 30, and every time i’ve had to wait at the restaurant 15+ minutes to pick up. I understand this happens when it’s busy, but this also happens when the restaurant is quiet. Please put your phone orders in at the time of order, not when i arrive.
Always good food, and there are enough choices for someone who does not eat seafood (me). My husband, who is Japanese, swears by this place. He can't get enough of their sushi, much to the dismay of my wallet, but hey, gotta keep him happy. I have to say that the beef dishes are pretty good, not cheap cuts of meat that some places use. Two notes: the younger guy needs to wear his mask over his nose while he prepares the food, and they always forget to include my gyoza!!! Since I live on the other side of the park, in the Outer Richmond, I am not driving back. Hopefully, they will throw in some gyoza when we return.

Wow, unbelievably generous portions. It's 2pm the next day and I'm still full from last night's dinner here. I ordered the Tazaki Sushi Combo - real crab California roll and 6 pieces of nigiri, chef's choice. It also came with miso soup, salad, and ice cream (chocolate or green tea). There was also complimentary edamame, which was sweet and savory and softer than al dente - I really enjoyed it. I could've shared this meal with another human of average appetite. I was already full after the California roll - look at how much crab meat is in there! But I took my time and ate the sashimi sans rice. Their rice is too wet and could use a little more flavor - that's the only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars for the food. Otherwise, the fish was fresh and bountiful! I'd "see you tomorrow" if I weren't so full!

The ambience is calm, the server was enthusiastic and described the menu in details, the food was served fast. The both sushi were good. The restaurant missed a little bit of table maintenance. Keep in mind that finding a parking spot in that neighborhood is really hard.

Forgot about our appetizer - we reminded our server and they ended up bringing it out well after our meal. Didn’t enjoy the sushi I got (Lily and New York roll), but boyfriend said his special roll was OK.
I understand wanting to keep things clean but wait staff seemed so intent on clearing any possible thing they almost took my son's unfinished drink! Felt rushed. Meanwhile, as often as they came by to clear things, never did they ask how we were doing, how things tasted, was there anything else we'd like. Felt very unwelcome. The food quality is good but the service left a bad taste
Spent $110 and didn’t touch most of the food. The sashimi smelled bad and left a bad taste in our mouth. Once we realized the sushi wasn’t fresh we left quickly. Service personnel wasn’t knowledgeable about the menu and we were overcharged.
Not fresh. Not clean. Would not go back. Anxious atmosphere. Someone recommended another place on our way out and told us it was 100% better and to not return.
I've been going to this place for years and quite frankly the service has gotten so bad that I needed to come back and reduce my review to one star. this is the kind of place that will completely forget items that you've ordered or will bring you your appetizers well after your meal has been started I even had one night where they completely forgot someone's meal completely. Communication at this location is lacking at best.
Place is half empty on a Sunday night. Still waited 45 for a sashimi platter. Fish is not really fresh. The guys behind the counter, when they weren't watching TV, they were making the to go order before the guest at the restaurant. The rolls they made were sloppy. Would not recommend unless you want some subpar Japanese food to go. PS, just got the platter. The guy barely knew what he sliced up when he was explaining it at the table. Technically got 40 pieces instead of 35. But slices like this I rather go to a supermarket and try it myself. All the 5 and 4 stars must have been the people that doesn't really know better and just keep coming back. The owner seem to know every other person in the restaurant.
