Great food, highly recommend the Mantoo dumplings. We also ordered the chicken and beef Koobideh which had good seasoning, great sauce, and flavorful salad dressing. Hummus was also delicious.

As a lover of good Afghan food, this sang to my tummy! I ordered for delivery a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. There menu was wonderful, including Firni, a dessert not all places have. I've ordered several times with them but today was the only day I took photos prior to shoving my face. Mantu 5/5 Combo beef kabob and lamb chops over seasoned rice.

Exceptional service and delicious food. Understaffed but owner went the extra mile for a special occasion and gave good recommendations for lunch specials. Enjoyed all the dishes, especially the wraps

It is a small quiet, clean place with a few tables and quite a lot of items on the menu, and the service was good. It was our first taste of Afghan food so can't evaluate the food. Presentation was attractive and very adequate quantity.

The food is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Everything tastes very flavorful and homemade. The Qabili Palao was especially good, the lamb was cooked to perfection.

Everything we ordered was very yummy, got an order of mantoo to go, which I will definitely have again; plan on going back to try more of their menu. Very friendly service, can tell they make everything from scratch with quality ingredients. Wish they had some type of hot coffee or tea...!

Yum!! Get the lamb shank, it's delicious!! The service was GREAT. My entree and a soda only cost me about $20 and I got a side salad and bread for free. Thank you for the excellent food and service. I'll be back

Super delicious food! It has an extremely small space for dining in or outside, and decor isn't special, so we usually do carrryout. One of my favorite places. Everything is yummy.

Great food! I'm a vegan and they helped me pick something without dairy or meat. So I had their lentil soup , which was killer, and the grilled eggplant with rice . That was a week ago and I've been dying to go back. Good experience!

Food is fresh and delicious made with wonderful Afghany spices. The owners are a delight and very helpful. This is a small mom and pop restaurant that brings their culture to you in the form of their hospitality and food.

Beef and chicken kebabs are great. We usually get the seasoned basmati rice - it's really flavorful. We ALWAYS get a pototo & leek bolani too - soooo good. I like the crispy edges. Recently tried the aush (noodle) soup for a change and really liked it! Very interesting flavors and quite filling. Sometimes we just get soup and a bolani and it's plenty. We come here at least once a month.

I went in blindly without checking reviews, this place was delicious and I was very happy with my choice. I had the beef chapli dinner and it was enough to take half home for tomorrow night.

The best Chapli kabobs in the Bay Area, bar none! Oh! And the Sheer Yukh Yalla (Cardamom and rose ice cream with rice noodles) is divine. Too bad it is usually out.

The food is amazing. Small and cozy place, it feels like private dining. Long time repeat customer. Always trying something new on the menu.

A local favorite of ours. Delicious food. Service and food feel like you're eating in the owner's home. Atmosphere and decor are just right. We've loved everything we've eaten so far. I'll be adventuring through their whole menu!

The best Afghan food ever! We had Zalla cater to our home for about 40 guests. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious the food was. Thank you Zalla for making our event the talk of the night! You guys are awesome, you've definitely earned our business going forward! :)

I am always leery about trying new places since I cook a lot at home, the places I try need to be good. This place went over and above my expectations, they were excellent! I have allergies and cannot have certain foods, so before ordering I asked a lot of questions. The gracious lady behind the counter walked me through and explained what was in all the items I was interested in ordering. The Chicken wrap is off the charts! The flavor was amazingly wonderful and so stuffed with Chicken I could barely finish 1/2 of it. I also totally recommend the spinach covered lamb shank, not sure of the name. The lamb was a pleasingly seasoned, tender, melt in your mouth choice. A little kick to it, but not so spicy I couldn’t eat it. Everything is cooked to order and comes out piping hot! They serve every with I believe a Yogurt sauce and another sauce in containers on the side. I like everything without the sauces because that way you can enjoy the real flavors of what you’re eating. I totally recommend them! They are my new “go to” restaurant!

The Chapli beef kebab with brown rice for lunch was a delicious huge portion. So well flavored and definitely hit all of the umami notes. Great flavor with a tasty side salad, bread and sauce. After the kebab shop was closed due to the power outage and the pho restaurant closed down the street under new ownership, I’m so glad we found Zalla Kabob house that’s a hidden gem and no wait. The food was freshly prepared and for a foodie with an extensive palate, a delicious happy find

I have had 99% of the food within this establishment. And i am 100% sure it is amazing food. When you leave you already want more of the juicy kabobs. the hot warm potato Bolani's. the side of yogurt made to perfection with the warm rice & various flavored kabobs. melts in your mouth highly recommend

What a great food, Kabuli Pulao was amazing, no smell of lamb, juicy tender and full of taste. Their beef kabobs are juicy with yummy flavor. I will definitely go there again.

Yum! This place is yummy. Home style food! Great service and delicious food. I had the beef dumplings in this amazing spicy yogurt sauce. My friend had the eggplant which I tried. Again tasty. Only thing lacking is some authentic beverage like tea or some other drink from Afghanistan. Over though I would come back here in an instant.

Amazing flavor, great cooking, good textures, overall a wonderful place. They especially well cooked the lamb and eggplant. The eggplant rounds were so tender you couldn't pick them up with a spoon, and the lamb meat almost fell of the lamb shank. Even the simple potato flatbread have a great crispy texture on the outside and soft filling, and was spiced great. We got the potato bolani, which filled up a pizza box, the banana borani, which was a few large eggplant rounds in sauce with rice, and the lawand chalow with lamb. The lamb was a single large lamb shank in a thick creamy sauce, with lots of rice and a little pita bread. These three dishes filled up two adult males and a woman after a day of hiking. I would definitely order everything again. They didn't make anything spicy, but I still loved it even though I almost only like spicy food. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area

By far the best and most authentic afghan restaurant in the area! Personally I love ordering the pumpkin kadu, and the chicken lawand. This place rocks! Staff is always super sweet and helpful. Must try if in the area

Zalla Kabob House in San Ramon impressed on all fronts. The restaurant itself boasts a cool atmosphere and very clean bathrooms, making for a pleasant dining experience. But the real star is the food. They offer a wide variety of delectable Afghan cuisine, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The customer service was the icing on the cake – friendly, attentive, and always happy to answer questions. If you're looking for something specific, I highly recommend their chapli kabab and lamb shank – both were absolutely delicious.

We catered banquet food from this restaurant for a large engagement party. The food was delicious, fresh, and very tasty. We ordered Chapli Kabab, chicken Kabab, beef Kabab, lamb qabali Palow, sabzi, bolani, narinj palow, Kadoo, fernee, salad, white rice. Every dish had an exquisite taste. We also went there last weekend, and as usual the food was delicious, the service was outstanding. Balqees served us and she went out of her way to help us, and she was very pleasant.

I had a wonderful experience dining at Zalla House, an Afghan restaurant in San Ramon. We ordered a variety of dishes including the chapli kabab, chicken koobideh, aush, mantu, and potato bolani—and everything was excellent. The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. Each dish had its own unique taste and was beautifully prepared. The service was equally impressive. The staff were courteous, warm, and genuinely hospitable, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated, offering a comfortable and pleasant dining environment. I highly recommend Zalla House if you're looking to explore authentic Afghan cuisine. The chapli kabab and mantu were personal favorites, but everything we tried was delicious. Will definitely be returning!

I’ve been going to this restaurant while they were in Danville for 5-10 years. They moved to San Ramon a few years ago. Very good Mediterranean/Afghan food. Unfortunately I no longer work in this area so don’t go there as much, but if I’m in the area I go for Lamb Loin Chops Kabob with Season Rice. Highly recommend. Price is very reasonable for the portion of food that you get.

Zalla kabob house is a Persian restaurant specialising in Persian food. For eat in or take out. They have a very good chef and their prices are reasonable considering portion sizes and flavour. I had never tried Persian food prior to eating at zalla's,but when I did,I was sold. I love their food and the ambience isn't half bad either. You can see straight through to the kitchen which is nice. They also cater for parties and events.

Great tasting food cooked fresh with quality ingredients. Restaurant is in a nondescript strip mall with a few other restaurants and an Indian grocery store, so kinda hard to find it unless you know in advance. They give you a bowl of salad and some fresh delicious Afghan bread (served with cilantro sauce and tzatziki sauce) While the food is tasty and fresh, the prices are a bit high compared to the prices. For example, the combination platter with a large Chapli kabab and 4 pieces of chicken kabab with a little bit of rice was $28. The daily special was the Kofta Chalk which was 3 beef meatballs in a sauce with some rice was quite delicious and $18. The 2 pieces of baklava were delicious and warm and was $8. $103 for 3 dishes and baklava seemed a bit on the high side. Friendly people though the young lady serving us was a bit difficult to communicate with as she didn’t seem to comprehend English completely. Worth a return visit.

I really wanted to shawarma and google it. this place came up. they do not sever shawarma. The lady told me their gyro was pretty good and like shawarma. i ordered that with fries to go. It ended up not being a gyro but a wrap. they gave me a salad instead of fries. the sauce that's on the chicken was very good, but nothing like shawarma. The food I ended up with it was pretty good, but it wasn't what I ordered

We took a to go. Food was really salty. We eat decent salt, this was too much over salt. The hummus was pasty and nothing was good in our order. I won’t go back again. Hope they take the feed back and improve their food.

I always carry out food from here. Food is consistently good. Except today the chapall kabobs were dry and seemed old and reheated. So were the seasoned rice. Not sure what happened ! Hope this doesn’t continue.

The food is too salty I had their food in a party I end up in the hospital. I taught maybe was a mistake. I went after couple of months in this restaurant we had a party there we spent over $400 again the food was to salty not that many of us could eat the food because of too much salt we told the owner that food is salty she didn’t say anything but we had to pay. Nobody looked at the plates that they were still full to give some of our money back or something.Anybody who wanna die can go there نان این رستوران نمک بسیار دارد برای صحت تان خطر دارد

Extremely rude and unproffesional!!!! I work at a gated community and one of their drivers bypassed our gates and drove up the wrong side of the road to enter the community. When exiting, the guard at the gate stopped the driver and asked where she was delivering from. I then looked up the restaurant and called asking to speak with a manager. When i started to explain what happened he claimed their van had not left all day and hung up on me. I tried calling back several times while he screened the call and then finally answered on the fifth attempt. All i asked was his name which he refused to give then hung up on me again. If you want to be treated disrespectfully when trying to make a complaint or express a concern then come here. The driver is lucky she wasnt charged with trespassing and reckless driving.

No one was there. Ordered take out, told me 10-15 minutes. I was there for 40 minutes. It was a simple order. They also divided one skew of kobideh into two and sold it as two. I showed them and they said its two. Kobideh is made on fire and one side of it should no look like the picture unless you cut it. This is the worst.

We ordered the Combination platter - the Hummus & Yogurt were very sour and way too fermented; on bringing to their notice - she took the feedback back to the kitchen and they refused to accept it saying its the lime juice. We make yogurt at - we know what an extremely shelved yogurt tastes like. Also, we have had food at other Afghan places - the food quality was way below par. Looks like they don’t get many people - so shelved food comes out of the fridge. They shoulda atleast accepted the part that the food wasn’t good and take it back but insisted they are fine. Going with the family and having spent $165 seemed like a waste.
