The best Chinese takeout in Astoria!
Decided on Christmas day that I'd be checking out a spot I've had my eye on for a bit being a regular in the area and although they were slammed busy on this holiday the lady at the front was just so genuinely friendly and extremely professional despite the business. Even chatted with her for a bit and that alone made my day of just such a wonderful personality. The food was extremely affordable, I called ahead of time just three blocks down from my walk and when I arrived I didn't have to wait longer than 3 minutes to pick up and be on my way! Super fast service and deliciously savory food. I personally was craving beef and broccoli and got the lunch special and it was tender, savory, and umami. They were generous with the beef cuts too with a great broccoli and beef ratio! The pork fried rice further complimented the experience especially the bits of salty pork in the rice being the highlight of its tastiness. The wonton soup had such a satisfying broth that felt so good to enjoy on such a cold day! Couldn't reccomend this place enough from the lovely, friendly, and efficient service to also how affordable and super tasty the food was! I've been an American-Chinese food lover for about my whole life at this point and this place knocked it out of the park for me! Excited for my future orders and cravings!

Very good vegetarian genral tso tofu. Fresh broccoli very generous with sauces. Lo mein was not greasy. Over all clean food would recommend.

I have been ordering food from Xing’s Chef for longer than I can remember. This is the only Chinese take-out that my 89 year old mom likes! I’m always in a rush and they always have my order ready for me, which I truly appreciate. The food is consistently delicious and the woman who works there is always sweet and kind. She works harder than anyone and always has a smile, even when you can tell she’s doing 100 things at once!
Best Chinese takeout in the area. Never too oily or salty. One of the cleanest most efficient kitchens I've ever seen. The staff are also superb.
Stopped in here on a whim. I was dropping my bf at the airport, his flight got delayed so we came here. OMG best decision. Everything was delicious. We had the wings fried rice and a shrimp roll. The wings packed with flavor, the rice could use a little more but honestly it was still really good, same as the shrimp rolls, they were a bit greasy but it was so good I didn’t care. YUMMMMMM I’m still thinking about them
Great local Chinese food. Staff are the most friendly people. Always so nice always so helpful. The food is cheep and quick. They have the typical American Chinese food you would expect. No seating inside, only take out.
Favorite and tastiest Chinese food I've had in NYC! The food is always fresh/cooked perfectly, the portions are great, and the owners/service are amazing. I've been going here for a few years and they are consistent without fail.
Kept hearing so many good things about this place. Finally bit the bullet and ordered and gotta say food was pretty fresh and tasted great. Granted it was just chicken wings pork fried rice and boneless ribs but these staples aren't always done well but here they were done great. I need to try more dishes but for now they impressed me.

Fantastic, Clean American-Style Chinese food that is made quick and with love. We've been going here for 5 years and its our go-to Chinese spot. Everyone should be ordering from here. Also, the kitchen is open and very clean. Very nice, good people as well.
While this place may look like your average Chinese takeout joint, don’t be fooled. Food was cooked fresh and it tasted fresh.
Very nice people own and work here so you'll get good service. The fried rice is very good here. The menu is typical nyc chinese food. Definitely a bit better than average but not mind blowing.
One of the better Chinese food spots in the ditmars/east Elmhurst area. My go to here is the fried chicken wings. Wonton and hot and sour soups could be better. Other dishes are standard. Delivery is quick and they accept credit card. I love that they are not cheap with their sauces.
Long time Steinway Ditmars resident. Unfortunately our area has many Chinese restaurants that are sub par. I've been ordering from here for quite a few years. After trying most of the places within my delivery range I find that this is the best Chinese restaurant for American style take out/delivery in the area. The food isn't particularly special but they do the standards pretty well and are fast, professional, and efficient. Often their delivery guy is pretty quick too. If you want anything better or desire more traditional Chinese food just stop messing around and go to Flushing, it's pretty close.
It's been a while since I had half fried chicken and pork fried rice. Unfortunately, the food was overcooked. Taste was good but the chicken and the rice were dry.
I will never eat here again. I ordered spare rib tips and they were hard burnt and just flavorless. It was no sauce at all. The environment and atmosphere was quiet, except one of the workers had their child in the dining area and he was cussing up a storm while my children was present. I will not recommend this place food is overpriced for it to not even be all that good
