Opinions de Youta Ramen Albans
My brother recommended this restaurant, and I can see why this place is a hidden gem right here in Long Island. Though this place is small and its menu is simple, everything about it all is authentic and tasteful from its atmosphere to its food. For appetizers, we ordered Youta Dumpling, Shishamo Tempura, and Shishito Truffle Salt. The Dumplings is full of flavor. The Shishamo is new to me, but surprisingly taste similar to sardines and very soft. The Shishito tastes good, but wished that it was a bit more roasted. We then ordered the Katsu Curry, Shrimp Katsu Curry, and Shouu Truffle Ramen. The curries are to the point! They have a bit of a kick, but they definitely hit the spot! The crispness and the curry blends well with the rice. The Ramen is great, filled with the mushroom broth and it's flavor. For dessert, shared the Mango Parfait, which is sweet and tasty with the crisps and waffle! We definitely recommend coming here, but definitely come in early or make a reservation.
Definitely a trendy spot — about 80% full within 15 minutes. Just like authentic ramen shops in Japan, the seating is tight, but that’s part of the vibe. The tori karaage — oh my goodness — absolutely delicious and generously portioned. The tempura was also excellent, with a light, thin batter that wasn’t greasy. These two dishes easily rank in the top three of all the places I’ve ever tried. If I had to nitpick, the taro was slightly undercooked. Living up to its “Top 3 Ramen of 2024” reputation, it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, the chashu melted in your mouth, and best of all, it didn’t leave you desperately chugging water afterward like some overly salty ramen does.
Food is Great, best ramen I’ve had on Long Island I’ve had so far, highly recommend this spot, THEY DONT DO RESERVATIONS ONLY WALK INS but that’s fine you just get put on a waiting list, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming
Probably the best ramen i've had. Broth was extra fatty and flavorful, unlike any other place i've been to. Insane that a place with LA/Manhattan quality is just sitting here in Mineola! Best part is you're not paying for their rent either, prices are very fair. Also good taste in music selection.
Wow amazing food and service!! I got the Niku ramen I definitely recommend it, one of the best meals I’ve had. My partner had the tonkatsu ramen, he said in his opinion if you’re looking for crunch inside, add the chicken appetizer to the ramen and it’s perfect. The only slight problem was it’s very tiny, and the place fills up QUICK! But I see how this place was nominated #2 nationwide for ramen, great spot.
The best ramen I've ever had. The broth is so flavorful and has a nice spice to it. The pork meat is also so soft and juicy. Along with the noodles with a soft great texture. Everything was amazing. The fries with the sauce was really good too! The drinks were delicious too. The only thing is the restaurant is pretty small so it can feel a bit tight. Aside from that, the decor of the restaurant is beautiful!
I went to this place for lunch and to scout it out. It was my first time coming here, and the first thing that happened when entering the establishment is one of the staff welcoming me. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but the serving staff there are very attentive and kind. And the decor within the place is very colorful and eye-catching. The place also seems to be a hot spot for friends and family with children. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Curry with Melon Cream Soda. As I waited, the staff made sure every customer's glass of water was always filled, and they took out out any remnants of trash that was on the table. As soon as my food came out, it smelled absolutely delicious, so I immediately digged in. The curry sauce was hot and smooth, while the fried shrimp were so crispy and juicey. Paired with the cold melon soda, the entire dish was amazing. I will definitely have to come back to this establishment with my friends and siblings, so we can try out the ramen and rice bowl dishes!
Youta Ramen on Old Country Road is an absolute gem — easily one of the best Japanese comfort-food spots I’ve tried in New York. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We started with the sashimi dishes, and they were outstanding. • Hamachi in ponzu was incredibly fresh, buttery, and perfectly balanced with citrus and herbs. • The salmon carpaccio with ikura was another highlight — rich, silky slices with just the right amount of sauce and texture. The ramen is where Youta truly shines. The broth was rich and comforting, the chili paste added a perfect kick, and the chashu melted in your mouth. The seasoned egg was cooked perfectly with that golden, jammy center. We also tried the fried smelt, which came out hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned — perfect with a squeeze of lemon. The pork bowl was another winner: tender, flavorful slices over a bed of fresh green onions, topped with two perfectly cooked eggs. Overall, the quality, flavor, and presentation were top notch. Whether you’re craving ramen, fresh sashimi, or great small plates, Youta Ramen is absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back!
I absolutely loved the truffle ramen and all their tempura. I have eaten at many many japanese places that serves tempura but never had I found a place I truly enjoyed eating the tempura and even leaving me to crave it more. I think that merely means the tempura here is delicious, especially coming from someone who is normally not a tempura fan. As you can see, I ended up ordering more delivered to my home a couple of days after dining in the restaurant.
This was my first time having ramen! The food was so delicious. We ordered the calamari and the fries as appetizers. The calamari is super fresh (no rings if you don’t like the tentacles). The fries were fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Shoyu Truffle Ramen and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Both had deep rich flavor and were filling. The place is small, but they get you seated as fast as possible.
Great staff, nice ambiance, awesome food! Recommend the Youta Ramen (the spicy one if you want a little kick). Chicken Karaage with the white sauce was delicious. The Shishito Peppers was great as well,. good for sharing. Fries for the kiddo. Overall, really great ramen for the Mineola area. Recommend 100%
One of my favorite ramen spots! I love the cozy wood vibe of the place—it feels super warm and inviting. It’s not a big shop, but the atmosphere is very Japanese. And of course, the food is what keeps people coming back. I’ve tried everything on the menu, and honestly, nothing ever disappoints. If you’re not sure what to order, just randomly pick one—you’ll be surprised how good it is! The staff are great too—always friendly and quick, like catching up with an old friend. Bonus: there’s free parking in the back, and street parking is usually easy to find.
Had an amazing experience at Youta Ramen! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I brought my wife and daughter, and we were pleasantly surprised that they had a special children’s bowl, fork, and chopstick set—such a thoughtful touch! We ordered several dishes from the menu, and each one was unique and full of flavor. This hidden gem is a must-try, and we’ll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend!
This is one of the BEST Ramen restaurants in Nassau County. The atmosphere is very japanese. The music, The art on the wall. I love it. Funny enough, even the size of the restaurant is small, just like in Japan. I have been in japan numerous times, and it's a 10 out of 10 for flavor. The price is a little high but I guess that is what you have to pay for great food. I highly recommend this Ramen House.
I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The initial aroma and the presentation of the pork weren’t the most appealing, but the flavor quickly made up for it. The broth had deep, bold notes that felt rich and comforting. The pork was thinly sliced and full of flavor, and the noodles were perfectly firm. The spice level was just right for me without having to mix in the entire spice ball. I also really enjoyed the Matcha Parfait. It had a nice variety of textures, and the homemade cream cheese was especially light and delicious. Adding a bit more crunch to balance everything out would’ve made it even better. I really enjoyed both the food and the experience. I would definitely recommend Youta! 🍜
Tonkotsu ramen pork was very tender. We also got salmon yukke which was very good. The spicy tonkotsu isn't just spicy, it's also much saltier than the regular tonkotsu. Maybe ask for spicy sauce on the side. Parking is limited and the residential street behind the store doesn't allow street parking except on Sundays.
We went there because it was rated the #2 best Japanese restaurant in the US by NY Times. The #1 restaurant was in California. First the good: We ordered the pan fried dumplings. That was very good. Nice and piping hot inside and excellent crispy crust. The fried mackerel reminds me of the carapauzinhos fritos we got in Lisbon. Strange to see it in a Japanese restaurant. They called it a tempura. It did not taste like a tempura (shrimp or otherwise), but it did taste better than the ones we got in Lisbon. We also got the raw chopped octopus with white radish in wasabi sauce. The sauce gave it the punch needed. Initially the texture was strange, but the crunch of the octopus wins you over and you end up reaching for more. The wasabi sauce was delicious paired with the dumplings and mackerel. Now the not so good … the Meh We got the recommended ramen and the spicy ramen. The spicy ramen was good but a bit spicy hot. You’ll need to like really hot dishes to like it. The recommended ramen broth was thick and savory (oily … that’s typical for good Japanese ramen), but a bit bland. From my travels to Japan, this is typical. You’ll need to add your own seasoning on the table to add more flavor to it. It would have probably tasted better if they offered some shredded seaweed on the side to add texture and taste. However, they didn’t so it was just Meh. Typical Japanese ramen you’d get anywhere. However, good ramens in Japan wouldn’t necessarily need more flavor. The pork in the ramen was a bit dry and maybe overcooked. The soft cooked egg was good, but typical of good ramen (so nothing special). Now the bad that needs improvement. The restaurant was freezing cold which immediately made the dishes cold after a minute. So the piping hot ramen was not piping hot after the 2nd bite. They seemed to try their best by putting in a double door to keep out the draft but it didn’t help because once that door opened a cold air came rushing in. I recommend they reverse the door swings so one door opened will not let the breeze flow past the second door. Also, I’ve seen restaurants put a heater in between the doors so heated air is what comes in and not the fridge cold. They also have heaters circulating warm air, but it can’t keep up with the doors opening. And finally, the server was nice and friendly. However, the service was very slow. Seem to be overwhelmed with the number of customers in the small restaurant. The food did come out of the kitchen very quickly after ordering. In the future I would probably order more appetizers and skip the ramen. Maybe try their Don (over rice) dishes. I didn’t see any sashimi or sushi typical in Japanese restaurants. Just the raw fish over salad and rice. From the NY Times review I expected a Japanese restaurant with a sushi and sashimi boat, but this is just a ramen place with reasonable prices. There are side street parking in front of people’s houses. Or meter parking on the main road.
A ramen shop that’s been trending on Xiaohongshu — and it’s absolutely packed on Friday nights! Definitely popular. I really like their tempura; the ramen has a nice texture too. The fried chicken is delicious, and the lightly grilled green peppers are also pretty good. But the one thing I have to complain about is the mango ice cream. I really wish I had gone for the matcha instead. For $13, the ice cream shouldn’t come with cheap jelly at the bottom just for the visual appeal. It looks good, sure, but it tastes terrible. And that white cream in the middle! It tastes like straight-up cream cheese. If they had whipped it a bit, it wouldn’t feel like swallowing a big chunk of dry cheese scraping my throat. Please, acknowledge it, and hopefully make some improvements!
I was really excited to eat here since it brags about how it is one of the top ramen restaurants in LI as well as “Top 2 in the World” according to a poster in front of their entry door. A party of two with water, 2 ramen and a very pricy appetizer was around $60ish with a 20+% tip. Let me start with the appetizer. We got the Carpaccio with some wasabi soy glaze. Six average bite sized slices for $16. Definitely could’ve gotten sushi or more for $16 but it was my loss. The ramen. How disappointing. Their “18 hour cooked to perfection broth” was quite upsettingly comparable to the $1.25 tonkotsu instant ramen from the dollar tree, (not even kidding try the tonkotsu instant ramen and make chashu yourself). I had the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and the Youta Ramen, (the main bowl to get from here). $18-$20 each depending on what you add on to it. The bowl straight from the menu for both ramens only come with four things plus garlic paste for the Youta version, bamboo, chashu, scallions, and egg, (spicy tonkotsu came with spicy paste that you have to mix in). Overall, just very disappointing as a ramen place the boasts about being one of the best in LI/America. If you do plan on visiting this place, they do not take reservations so try to get in early on their wait list in house and it is not made for more than 20 people sitting in the restaurant so be prepared to share a table with someone else if they are busy.
I honestly don’t understand the high ratings. I ordered the spicy ramen, and the broth was off, with an excessive layer of cold chili oil that I had to scoop out. The spice tasted store-bought rather than house-made. The noodles didn’t seem fresh, and the pork chashu had an unpleasant aftertaste and was the worst part of the bowl. The price is fair, but the quality doesn’t match the hype. Based on my experience, this is nowhere near top-tier ramen, especially compared to NYC.
