Loved our little date night here! Was not too crowded on a Friday night, perfect for an intimate experience! We loved the food, very unique, high quality, and tasty! Located perfect area if you want to walk around and check out shops afterwards/prior. Also, has plenty of parking without needing to pay or park on the side.
Came here for date night because it was one of the few places open nearby during the pandemic. There was a 20 minute wait for our table which was really taken up with a walk to and from the car. It was freezing outside. The ambiance of the restaurant was amazing, the staff were so diligent and polite, and the food was amazingggg! My husband and I tried a little of everything and it was all delicious. Drinks were also on point. I was surprised when the bill cams because it was less than what I had anticipated. Definitely a great option for a date night, girl’s night, or any celebratory event. We will definitely return!
Sister restaurant to La Salumeria, this place is spot on for a Tapas restaurant. Every single thing was so tasty. I highly recommend any cheese/meat board, the croquettes, soft shell crab sandwich and octopus. The bone marrow was also good, but there was hardly any marrow, so maybe skip. We were so full we had to take dessert to go but can confirm the lemon pie is excellent. Can’t wait to come back.
Best restaurant in Garden City. Small and cozy with an open kitchen right at the bar. The food was outstanding and the wine selection is superb. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here. Highly recommend!!!!!
Great place with quality food a decent charcuterie/cheese selection. Our server seemed knowledgeable and checked in frequently if we needed anything. Would definitely come back, especially for their happy hour specials!
Oh my goodness! Everything was absolutely delicious. The Italian charcuterie board was particularly impressive. My wife and I had a lovely and romantic evening. 😋😋😋
I’m from the area but it was the first time for me here. Came here for a birthday dinner. The space is small and not much places to sit for bigger parties of 3 maybe 4. Place was packed and the bar was booming. Seems to me people go here to drink and just mingle not for actual dinner sit downs. Regardless Services was spot on and food had me nervous to try but I did and it was all very delicious. Dark bar maybe better during the day. Check it out.
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Staff was very friendly! We did not have to wait long for food. Everything was delicious! We ordered about 5 tapas and they were the perfect size to share between 2 people. Had the panacotta for dessert, I LOVED it.
Love it! Don't overthink this restaurant is amazing. Decor, service, drinks and food! The whole package. The portions are small and bit pricey but is fresh and flavorful. The paella also is only shrimp and chicken wings different for other Spanish style restaurants. Octopus plate was exquisite and the panacotta was unbelievable. We will be back for sure! Great selection of wines and beers. Thanks guys and keep the good job ❤
First time at Plancha. What a gem! I had a lemondrop to start. A perfectly balanced drink. We ordered grilled shrimp. Had a panini that was a house special with mortadella. Yum. The octopus was tender served over butter beans. Brussel sprout salad was very nice. Pan con Jamon, so good. Dessert bread pudding and lemon chess pie was a wonderful way to end the meal. The staff is very nice and talented. Check out the menu before you go, as they have so much to offer. It is a great casual place with fantastic food in Long Island.
I’d give it more stars if I could! My fiancé and I have been here a few times and each time we’ve been more and more blown away by the food, service, and wine choices. Brian is an awe-inspiring chef. He is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, personable, and generous with everything that he does. Tom has served us each time and is, too, highly knowledgeable and always friendly. Congratulations to the entire Plancha team on this beautiful hidden gem!!
Love this place and I'm so glad it's close to home 11/11/2023: Came with coworkers for dinner and tried a couple of newer items on the menu including the foie gras, brussel sprouts salad, spices apple crumble, and cinnamon daiquiri. We loved them all
Absolutely love everything about this place, the vibe, the lights, the staff, the wine, i love the food too... but it's time to change it up a little... it became boring
This Spanish restaurant exceeded my expectations! The wine was absolutely spectacular, perfectly complementing the delicious food. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The patatas bravas were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice, and this charcuterie plate (as seen in the picture) was a highlight – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. One of the best parts? They offer free parking, which made the experience even more convenient. I highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Over the past few years I have had the joy to come to this establishment with the expectation that I will leave satisfied with my experience. Everytime we sit at the bar and watch diligent chefs churn out amazing tapas and delightfully curated meat and cheese boards working from a single plancha. If you haven't had the opportunity to watch a chef craft something made specifically to you, then you lose out in opportunity to understand where your food is coming from and whom is doing it. That detail, for me, enhances my experience and appreciation to people that work behind that bar to the plate of seasonal preparations of octopus, scallops, for gras and other delicacies. The price point is great, it out tastes, places like Casa Mono(which I love) with only a portion of the cost. Last night was no different. They made magic happen and can't wait for my next venture here. Full disclosure, their wine selection and pairing is kn point while they have to step up their cocktail game to compliment their wine and food program.
The best food in Long Island! A must try! Love the ambiance and the food is amazing. It’s small plates/tapas. My favorites are the Patatas Bravas, Croquetas, Garlic Shrimp, Charcuterie Board with fig jam, and bone marrow!
I learnt after eating at Salumi that they are sister restaurants which explained the similarities in menu items. Great food for sure since I had almost the same things twice in one weekend lol.
Very cool vibe, like you're in the city, but in Garden City. Cheese. And they cook the food right in front of you behind the bar which is cool. Get the mushrooms. Josh—amazing bartender and knows the effing menu. John, very friendly and greeted us right away. Super friendly staff (a Marisa was also on duty among others).
Great place for tapas. It’s definitely our go to place in Garden City. Amazing drinks, food and service. That garlic shrimp is absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back soon
I was on the search for a unique place to take my mom for her birthday. Well, it was a great choice! We enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, the sit on the bar and with the food - the sit at the table. Started with the Italian Board (pic) and finished with the steak board (it got eaten before we managed to grab the phone). Food and drinks were amazing! Will definitely be back to try their other items. 5 stars to the staff and service as well.
Wonderful presentation for the food and long menu for wines. The service is amazing.
Wonderful place, amazing chef, food is top notch, bartender was great too. Will definitely come back!
Loved everything! Great variety of small plates with a few full size options. If you love charcuterie and craft cocktails you have to try Plancha. Pannacotta dessert was addicting, not too sweet with surprise vanilla beans at the bottom. Hidden gem in Garden City, great for friends or a date night.
Every dish we had was great. My favorites were the octopus, pan con boquerones, and cauliflower.
Incredible Food & Great service!! the servings are the perfect size to share with two or three people.I would recommend this for any special occasion or just for a quick dinner after work
Was here for a friend's party, so tried a lot of things. Everything was freshly made and tasty! Also, all dishes had perfect Instagram look 😄
Fantastic menu, plates were pretty big for being tapas. Everything that came out was at least interesting, with a few big hits (shishito, manchego) and a lot of great drinks.
Food and service were amazing. Very cute place. We are definitely going back.
TLDR: Great if you're craving tapas in the Garden City area. Favorites were definitely the shisito peppers and burger. Massive wine collection and tasty sangira. Portion sizes are good. A friend had told us about Plancha and never got around it until recently. It's a small place but a solid menu and lots of wine. They were also able to accommodate us with our stroller. Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness. Very pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back to try some other things.
First time here - came with a few friends for a birthday dinner. Staff is super friendly, whether you’re at the bar or table seating. The tapas/ small plates are good for two people. Highly recommend the fried chicken and the pork belly bocadillo. Garlic shrimp was good, not as flavorful as I’d like but was cooked perfectly. If you are open to it, the bone marrow was excellent - great balance of flavors and crisp fresh bread. For large plates, the dry-aged steak board will not disappoint! Perfect medium and the potatoes and marrow are a great addition. The drinks were delicious - any of the margaritas will hit. Overall an excellent experience. Things add up quickly if you’re hungry but well worth the price.
Had an awesome time here! The tapas were super tasty, and the staff was really friendly. Loved the fried potatoes—they were so good—and the burger had that perfect charred flavor on the patty. The wine was great too. Definitely planning to come back next time we are in town
Best restaurant in GC. Feels like I’m in the city. Delicious Spanish/Portuguese inspired food. Jamon Iberico, Garlic shrimp, bone marrow, pork belly, and more. So so good.
Excellent menu, great service! Cozy atmosphere with ~50 person dining area. The garlic shrimp were our favorite. Would come back anytime we are in Garden City.
I've been here twice so far and we loved it both times. I look forward to coming back again. The food is excellent, service is great from friendly staff, bathrooms are clean.
The food is great! Jackie was so accommodating and a great waitress. Went out of her way to make sure everything was great. Definately recommend.
I had a great experience at this Spanish restaurant! The food was delicious, and the paella was a real surprise — full of flavor and perfectly cooked seafood. I also really enjoyed their selection of tapas; every dish was tasty and well-prepared. Definitely a place I'd love to come back to.
Excellent food, plenty of variety. Service was exceptional. Worth a visit! Parking behind the building
Such an amazing place even if you sit at the bar!! The Food was incredible and delicious so many flavors!!
Best dining experience in Garden City in a long time. Came in on a Thu night with friends..one in particular had a few allergies. Our waitress, Jackie, was incredible! She was very considerate with every dish to ensure we were all not cross contaminating her dishes. She was attentive, fun, engaging, and was provided top-service! Food and drinks were solid. Ill be back for sure!
Awesome place. Staff treated us like we were the only people in the place (which we weren’t!) Chef made us a special calamari dish that was the best calamari I’ve had (and we’re from Rhode Island!) Definitely a place to come back to. Great great place!!!!!
My wife's and I favorite restaurant on Long Island! Everything, and I mean every single dish here is delicious, we've tried it all and never been disappointed, our go to is a Spanish Board with 3 or 4 tapas, the Pan con Boquerón or pork belly bocadillo, Patatas bravas and shrimp or octopus are the go to. Also, the wine selection is great along with the classic spanish beers like Mahou and Estrella Galicia. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful dinner. The Spanish board and steak tartare were delicious. The staff were friendly from the bartender to our server, Carmela, who was knowledgeable and extremely nice. We will return!
My parents have been coming here for over a year and I was finally invited to the haven that is Plancha. Forever Grateful. I think what’s most beautiful about this establishment is that as good as the food was, and it was wonderful, it’s only secondary to the palpable atmosphere and experience of eating here. So many amazing individuals working here that make for an unforgettable night. And sit at the bar!
Delicious and tasty- definitely would go back! The food and service is excellent. All fresh and flavorful! if you sit at the bar you can see them cooking and plating the food. We had the garlic shrimp which was cooked well and very flavorful. It was seasoned perfectly. The patatas bravas were really good...the two sauces are delicious. We ordered the chicken which was amazing- crispy honey glazed skin, and the meat was tender. It’s plated on a sweet jam which pairs well. We also ordered the broccoli- dish is delicious but it’s a bit salty for my taste (most likely due to cheese, not seasoning). We went for happy hour, the drinks were two for one. It definitely gets packed after 630...great date night spot.
Really tasty tapas selection. The staff are incredibly friendly. The recommended wines were delightful. We opened with the shishito peppers, octopus and marrow. The peppers were perfectly portioned and prepared, the octopus done perfectly , yet the marrow barely had any marrow. When the waiter asked about it, I mentioned that there wasn't much marrow and all he did was smile. We finished with the squid ink paella. It was really tasty too. I'd have given a fifth star if the marrow had been more plentiful, but between that and the waiters response, four stars it is.
I really liked this place the bartender to care of us like family 1 get the crazy ham plate imbertgo is pricey but so worth it 2 get the fou gras it is real not a pate plate it's it amazing Also for some reason the wine is a bargain great deal they should be very proud to not take people on the price of things, saw the rest of the plates looked great This place is great
We ordered most of the tapas here and had the sampler plate. Everything we had was delicious and the wine menu wasn't overwhelming. The list was simple and the prices were very affordable. I'd come here again to enjoy the ambience and the food.
Solid 4/5. We tried: patatas bravas, shishito peppers, garlic shrimp, pork belly, boquerones, octopus, steak tartare, and each of the 3 sangria options. We also had the Orange cake for dessert. Nothing was as memorable as the garlic shrimp, boquerones, and the white sangria. This is literally the only combination of dishes we would go back for.
Came here with a party of 6. Did not expect so many surprises & bad vibes ☹️☹️. First, the server had very little knowledge of wine and which vintage to recommend. Second, we kept asking for water & napkins? No one is paying attention. Third, the Paella is average & over priced for the size & quality! Fourth, I believe it was the manager walking by that dropped a few containers of ketchup on my head. It smashed on the floor and spilled onto the premium handbag of a friend. Finally, brought it to the attention of the manager and was offered a $25 gift certificate. Really? I think the handbag cleaning may cost more. Not the point here. Of course, I declined. It’s of no value if I don’t plan on returning after the conversation… I feel so embarrassed for bringing my guests here today at 3 pm. Food is average for a premium price. Wine is above average. Service & attitude of management speaks for itself! 😤😤 Apparently the customer is NOT of the utmost importance, neither is good service 👎👎
Absolutely shocked by how rude the service was tonight. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law came in from Chicago, and every time they visit, Bar Plancha is our go-to spot. We’ve always loved the atmosphere and the charcuterie; it’s usually the highlight of their trips here. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed how we feel about the place. Our waitress was extremely unpleasant from the moment we sat down. She seemed uninterested, never checked on us, and had an attitude that made the entire experience uncomfortable. When it came time to close out, she asked if we wanted the check in a way that felt like, “it’s time to leave,” even though the restaurant still had more than 30 minutes before closing. We still tipped around 10%. Normally, we’re generous tippers (18–20%), but we also believe in rewarding good service, and this just wasn’t one of those times. What really crossed the line was what happened afterward. The waitress actually followed us out to the parking lot to ask why we tipped the way we did. I calmly told her that her attitude wasn’t pleasant, and she responded by saying, “Never come back.” That kind of behavior is completely unprofessional. It didn’t seem like she was just having a bad night—it felt like that’s simply how she is: rude, dismissive, and with poor interpersonal skills. It’s disappointing because Bar Plancha used to be one of our favorite spots. We’ve always looked forward to coming here when family visits, but after tonight, that experience has been ruined by one very rude waitress (blonde, glasses, poor attitude).
