We’ve been here twice now and both times have been totally delicious and worth the drive. The sweets are sweet but extremely flavorful (not JUST sweet, you know?) and the savory stuff is also incredibly delicious and well done. I even liked the home fries and I’m not one for potatoes. The dill and onion bread is absolutely delicious, I want to buy loaves of it. What a gem!
Great atmosphere and service and the food was “on point”. Light and Fresh in more ways then one. The hospitality of this staff is great and they take care of there community especially those with needs. The hearts of the staff here is great and it shows. Thank you for a great experience and meal.
Traveling through town and decided to stop in and I am so glad we did. Great food, atmosphere and we had one of the nicest people as our server. Andrew F is phenomenal. Very knowledgeable about the menu, made great suggestions and super nice.
My family (all 11 of us who are here visiting mom for the holiday) had a wonderful breakfast at the new Cafe Madison here in town. We had always been fans of the one in Loudonville but I must say this one was calmer, with nicer service and the food was its normal high quality! We all recomend you head there. Great to watch East Greenbush expand with great businesses.
We had an amazing time today. Josh made a wonderful Spicy Bloody Mary for us and was so friendly. We had Ramona and her lovely smile serving us and Josh also brought our food. The manager was so sweet and checked on us. Cameron runs a well oiled machine. Great job the way everyone takes care of each other and helps out in there. One of the other ladies even refilled our water as lur server was taking an order. You really dont have anything to worry about anything because some one will be by your table very quickly, and they seem very happy to help. Highly recommend!!
We actually went to another highly-reviewed breakfast place but the parking was nil so we spotted this location in Google's recommendations and so glad we came for breakfast! On-street parking was easy to find. It was definitely busy which is always a good sign. We came for brunch this past Sunday. There was no wait to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while eating. My son had a breakfast burrito, my littlest had the Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and my husband and I tried the Florentine Beni and Crab Cakes Beni. I also ordered the granola parfait, which didn't come at first. But was delicious when I did eventually get it. We did have to request water for our table but I understand they were pretty busy. Maybe making that the initial part of the wait staff's initial greeting/process would probably go a long way in keeping guests occupied while they wait for food and drinks. All in all, the food was delicious, the wait times for food and drinks were as expected, the atmosphere was laid-back and family-oriented, and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely return and recommend for brunch with the family!
I would highly recommend Café Madison to anyone and encourage them to try the Crème Brûlée French toast if they enjoy that type of food. More detailed breakdown of review below. Staff: D gave a fantastic recommendation for the Crème Brûlée French Toast! I had a craving for French Toast and heard good things about Café Madison so I decided to stop. She was friendly and asked for my food preference before giving a recommendation and seating me. Jada was my server and was very friendly as well. Food: The french toast had a delicious layer of custard and a caramelized sugar top. The whipped cream on the side wasn't homemade but was still very good and paired well with the strawberry slices. The butter side was made in house and added a subtle sweetness to an already rich dish but was not overpowering. I'm also glad there was no powdered sugar as I think that would have made the dish too sweet, although that's more of a preference. I also tried a Matcha Iced Coffee which was refreshing and not overly sweet. I requested a water as well to drink with the meal so I could enjoy the iced matcha more slowly. Atmosphere & Parking: I parked out front and paid for parking. I came for breakfast and there wasn't any difficulty finding a spot in the morning, but I could see busier times making parking close a challenge. I sat inside and the atmosphere was nice and fairly quiet. It was an overall enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to trying another dish here soon!
Updated July 2025 (to add a new image and drink): My partner and I have been coming here every weekend since December 2023. The reason being that we love the staff and the great food! One weekend they had a Taylor Swift themed weekend where they served her favorite dishes and played her music all weekend. It was so much fun, even for casual listeners of her music. The food is amazing. We usually get omelettes or the standard breakfast. Sometimes we also order the special so we can try it out. For drinks- We get a champagne dream (on recommendation of staff). We primarily come to the bar, where you can always find seating and great service. Drew (bartender, pictured serving his drink creations) has been amazing and has even been learning to make his own drinks. He has some incredible "Drew Specials," such as a Clover Club with a raspberry twist (off-menu items, as shown in the attached image) and a few others he's made for us (like the citrusy Chamomile Gin Fizz in 3rd image with the citrus rind, the Blueberry Sunset in 4th and 5th images with red transitioning to a lighter color, the raspberry cosmo in 6th image with the dark citrus slice), the Sunset by the Beach (orange/yellow drink with red at the bottom and an orange rind), the Blackberry Smash (purple drink with blueberries and basil garnish), and the Watermelon Refresher (tajin on the rim and orange rind). Sarah also has her own "Sarah Specials," such as the Blueberry Limoncello Drop (in image of a martini glass with blueberry and citrus garnish), Mister Earl's-tini (darker drink with citrus rind hanging off the side), or the Spicy Cranberry Vod-tini (apple slice). We will continue to come here every weekend, as it's close to home and always has great food, drinks, and friendly staff. Thank you, Cafe Madison, for always providing a great weekend brunch experience for me and my partner. We sincerely appreciate you! ------ Original: Always a great place to go for brunch! Amazing drinks, great food, and awesome staff. Love the new location! So spacious and beautiful. The California Avocado Omelette is always delicious. Peach Bellini, Champagne Dream, and seasonal drinks (like the Sunrise Mimosa and Apple Pie Mimosa) are always on point. Mario C, Emily, Drew, and Sarah are a great servers (and Aki, and other staff were great, too) and looking forward to coming back next weekend!
We stopped here for breakfast before leaving town, and it was amazing. The people were so kind, the portions are large and the food (and coffee) were delicious. We got the cinnamon French toast sticks to start, and had the Florentine Beni, California Avocado Burrito and the Blueberry Pancakes. All of them were amazing.
We’ve been to Cafe Madison before and while we were sad to see our date restaurant good bye we understand the decision. The food is always amazing—who would expect anything else from their management?! The drinks were phenomenal and the bar tender was supremely kind and efficient…and his drinks were perfect.
This place has been around for so long and I believe I've only been once when it was very small. I went on 10/14 (holiday so a lot of people off work) and there was quite a bit of a wait (25-30 mins for 2) but it did not disappoint. I cannot remember waitresses name but she was great. The food was outstanding and the upgrade to the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely would go again.

This place does everything you want! Under promise and over deliver. Great drinks! Great food! Amazing service!
The best French toast, fresh homemade bread, and Reuben sandwiches. Great ambiance, and the staff was on their "A Game". Come and visit when it isn't too crowded.
The cafe is a great place for breakfast! The service was professional and our waiter Chris was so efficient and attentive. The prices are fair.

Food was delish, Bella was super kind and helpful. My only issue was that I did feel like we were being rushed out. Several employees came over to us to ask if we were finished but had just taken a pause. I do appreciate the attentiveness it just felt overwhelming having to explain to 3 different people within 5 mins we weren’t done.
Service was amazing. But sadly, for the first time I was disappointed. Should have stuck with breakfast. Avocado chicken salad looked good but there was no avocado except the dressing. . My server made sure I got a side of it when I pointed it out. Chicken was unseasonedand dressing was lackluster. Couldn't taste the lime at all. Not enough sweet and sour for me. Romaine was gritty with sand. 🫤 I'll definitely be back for breakfast again, though.
Four stars ultimately because the staff was so nice. I would say that the food was ‘good’ BUT the fact that it took forever and a day for our order to come out is what made it ‘not great.’ I appreciated that the menu had vegetarian alternatives though and I could see myself inviting a variety of people to brunch here because of this. The bad: not photographed is the plethora of spiders and dead bugs in the front window— that really killed the experience for me. If I returned, I think I would ask to sit outside on the patio instead.
We stopped in on a Friday mid morning in September for brunch with a group of 6. We were seated in the dining area immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was good. I didn’t have any alcoholic beverages but a couple in the group had bloody Mary’s and said they were good. Overall very nice experience.
The food was below average. No real skill in its preparation. Any average home cook can plate these meals. Why go out and pay.

Sat at the bar, service was good. Food wise, ordered the eggs benny and the hollandaise sauce was broken and i got 2 hard poached eggs. Don’t need to say much else.
Café Madison is an iconic spot that gets talked about a lot. I found the place really cute, the coffee was good, and their pancakes were excellent. Unfortunately, the brunch itself was a real disappointment for me. The potatoes were bland and fried, and none of the savory brunch options I tried were enjoyable. The only things I truly liked were the pancakes and the coffee.
Food was cold and had to send back for hotter food.\nThe taste of the food wasn't too good for me.\n\nService was ok,not bad but not Amazing either.\n\nAmbiance was clean and nice.
I have never been a fan, in either location. They seem to focus their appeal on a younger demographic, and as a step up from a diner. I just don’t see the food (speaking only about breakfast) is …
OMG....this place is soooooooo noisy we couldn't hear ourselves think! Poor acoustics, crowded, music playing...a nightmare. There were 3 of us, all had omelets which were good but rather skimpy. …
Took me 15 minutes to get seated only to have the worst food of my life. They were out of potatoes so I ordered Brussel sprouts which tasted like they were fermented in dish soap and I ordered a piece of pistachio cake that came with a side of ice cream. Ice cream had no flavor and the cake tasted like bread?? There was a cheesecake center which tasted EXTREMELY sour. But atleast the waitress I had was sweet and the interior was nice

I have been to this place since it was Qualter’s back in the 80’s and always had great breakfasts until today. The staff was great, as was the Chai Latte, however my California omelette was awful. …
Within an hour of eating their garbage store bough biscuits and sausage and frozen homefries. I spent the rest of the day with the worst stomach pains. This was the only thing I ate. Terrible place. Id love for the 15 dollars I spent on this terrible food back please. Im so sick of establishments “looking cool” or good from the outside. When they serve frozen cheap garbage and sell it off as upscale.
The food is good here, but its not good enough to offset the service. The service is slow and I felt like the servers did not care about us at all. Lots of empty tables, but we had to wait 5-10 minutes at the door (while so many people came in they had to wait out of the door) while the servers texted and chatted in the back. That theme was the same throughout our meal. They weren't friendly at all, just seemed annoyed at us. We won't be coming back.
Food was great. Really delicious Breakfast and servings and all. Great ambience. The only problem is that , our total was $46.11 for two people, One coffee, two french toast breakfast. I got $20 bill from my friend and i gave the server a $20 bill and my card to split up. The server just left and helped himself to $20 and charged my card $46.11. we were confused as to why would the server just helped himself to $20 tip. i was not going to tip him almost 50% of my bill. the customer service was average. They are just an upscale breakfast place with New York City vibes. I went back after a day and talked to the manager lady. She almost yelled at me, for not making it clear then. Whatever lady I was with a friend trying to have a good brunch, didnt feel like doing the math then and there.
