I go here everyday for lunch and enjoy my lunch everyday. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive. They have great drinks and as for the atmosphere, it’s a diner you want to be amazed go to The Edge.
I've been coming to this place for over 20 years. It's still as solid and reliable as ever. Fast food, fast service, and always good stuff. I don't think I've ever been disappointed when I've left here. The staff is always friendly and they will get you in and out.
So happy we found this little gem - service was great and the food even better! Loved my chili cheddar burger and my friend loved her tuna salad melt - it was just what we needed!
been coming here for years and will continue to come. i finally got around to bringing my family and we were all so satisfied with our drinks and food. try the eggs benedict and the french toast! 10/10 service 10/10 atmosphere.
The atmosphere was OK, not too busy during lunch time, waitress didn't pay much attention and didn't check if things are OK or whether I need the check. Also, she rolled eyes for some reason. Like "hello"(rolling eyes). "How many of you?"(rolling eyes). "What can I get you?"(rolling eyes). It got entertaining eventually. The other waiters were more helpful though. Food was normal, tasted well. Prices were good too.
Great late night stop for food after midnight in NYC. Highly recommend breakfast food here and the linguine carbonara as well. Tomato soup was also extremely good.
Classic diner with deliciously prepared food and great service.
Came in on a Sunday night after a long shift. The burger with fries was awesome, it was actually super tasty, a perfect diner smash burger. The service was perfect, all the guys there genuinely care about hospitality. A gem! Will have to come back for breakfast.
They were so friendly. Try the California grilled chicken platter. I added bacon to mine. It was so good and so were the leftovers at 2am after a quick run in the airfryer at 380. The fries were also nice and crispy. I’ll definitely be going back.
So many years walking pass this diner and I finally decided to go in and have a bite. We were a group of 4 and well I’m just excited that there is still a diner at the city!! From the entrance to when we were shown where to sit was welcoming. We order burgers and veggie burger deluxe with beverages. They listened our order was perfectly cooked. Oh I will definitely come back especially for that veggie burger next time!! Thanks to all at the restaurant especially the waiter cuz they were busy especially on St Patrick’s day!!
I've been to Hollywood Diner several times now, and it is outstanding. The food is excellent, and the service is excellent. The place is clean and neat. And it's right at a subway outlet. I travel from New Jersey frequently to go to Hollywood Diner because it is just quite good. And it's open 24 hours a day, so there's no concern about closing !!
I walked in here with my friends at almost 4am from a night of dancing. I ordered the French toast lumberjack. Presentation was good and the food tasted even better. Wait time was reasonable, about 10 minutes for a table of 8 people. I highly recommend if you are in the area and need to satisfy your hunger.with tip came out to about 23 per person.
Food was super quick and delicious! Service was great and staff was very friendly!
The community gathers at this place. They offer a range of culinary approaches. The standout dishes vary but quality remains. Workers here make everyone feel comfortable. If only time and money allowed more visits!
My friends and I had the most pleasant experience late last night with Sammy, who was our host and waiter. He was very kind, helpful, and friendly. He had just given my friend his pancakes, which were the last item we had ordered, when suddenly someone outside threw a chair through the window, completely shattering it. I’m not entirely sure why he did that—I believe he was fighting with someone else or trying to start a fight—and he just decided to take one of the outside chairs and throw it at the window. There was no one sitting near the window thankfully so no one was hurt at all. Other than Sammy, there were only two other workers (including the chef) in the entire place, and they all ran outside when this happened. Luckily, there was literally a cop car right outside, and the man was caught basically immediately. The food was tasty with generous portions, the place is decorated with famous shots from classic movies, and the service was really top-notch—I cannot emphasize that enough. Hopefully, the window will be fixed promptly and the diner doesn’t have to pay for it!
Best quality for price and the staff is crazy attentive. This place is good as a solo diner but also if you’re with a group and everyone wants options.
Came here for the first time and enjoyed a very tasty and filling breakfast. The manager was being harassed by a rude woman who told her to quiet down while on the phone checking in on her sick grandmother. The manager was polite through it all despite how rude the woman was. Overall, seeing how she maintained composure through it all was awesome.
The inside is so glamorous I literally thought I was actually in Hollywood. All the waiters are dressed up as famous actors. I was seated in the vip section I ordered the milk steak with raw jelly beans outrageously good
It’s a busy place but they are very friendly and nice. And vegetables are very fresh and it’s very delicious. Their gyro was better than a greek restaurant that i’ve been before. 😅 and this place open 24/7 i think i went there like 12:00am-1:00am but they were open and there were people so it was very safe and nice. I recommend :)
Solid diner with solid diner selections. This place used to feel too crowded, but with Covid indoors now feels much more spacious! Plus they have a huge Covid shack now too. Same great food as before. Service is speedy, if somewhat chaotic. Just a gem of a diner that I'm to see survived Covid and came out stronger on the other side
Had an amazing time! Food was delicious. Hollywood burger was perfect and the hot chocolate with whipped cream was so good on such a cold night. We were a small group that kept getting bigger and they accommodated us with smiles and great service. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks again.
Grilled cheese on rye-delicious! Homemade tomato soup-outstanding! Grilled chicken sandwich-wonderful!! Noisy & busy-awesome NYC ambiance!! Wait staff on point!! We’d come again!!!!!!!
You'll appreciate the visual thought put in. I've tried several main dishes with satisfactory results. The employees combine friendliness with problem-solving. Previous visitors assessed this place correctly. On balance, the staff performed well and I plan to return.
We had a long day in the city and need a spot by our parking lot. This morning we saw they were packed full and decided to stop by after a failed visit to Eataly. This was the perfect spot for everyone to find something they wanted. It came out quick and was absolutely delicious. Chicken noodle soup was wonderful and came out HOT! The chicken fingers were perfect for any picky child. Chicken pesto panini was delicious!
Great spot with delicious breakfast omelette and home fries. I ordered an avocado and spinach omelette that came with a side of home fries and toast. The omelette was made with three eggs and was well made. The home fries were fallen apart but had the golden crispiness and delicious flavor. My husband ordered the turkey bacon croissant sandwich and he absolutely loved it.
Exactly what you want and expect from a NY diner. Very relaxed and chill, a huge menu and everything exactly as you expect. It’s right next to the subway station so it’s super convenient to get to, right by all the large shops on 6th (container store, Michaels, tj maxx, bb&b, etc) so you can fuel up here before or after you shop. The Reuben was the best one I’ve had in the city so far— the corned beef melts in your mouth and the bread was perfectly toasted. AND served with a huge side of Russian dressing so you can indulge. The burger was also good and juicy and cooked perfectly as ordered. The fries were good and the only thing that could have made them better was if they were crinkle cut!! :) All in all great diner and can’t wait to go back.
Was in NYC and was look for a good breakfast and I truly found it. The service was friendly and fast. The food came out hot and fresh. They serve the big link sausages, made the potatoes the way I like it. I had a veggie omelette and added cheddar cheese. It is much better than Johnny’s! So if your in the neighborhood and hungry for a good breakfast stop by Hollywood diner Angie a great meal!

The food is delicious and well plated. Fries are only 4$. The service was very professional. They were acomadating and courteous. I really liked this diner. They were classy and clean and stylish. …
A lovely little diner conveniently located near Union Square with numerous subway options. The food is fantastic as is the service. Aleays made to feel at home. Have been coming here for breakfast …
The food here is outstanding and the service is friendly and efficient. The prices are very good representing really good value for money.
Typical diner. Clean, friendly service. Good for a quick meal
We didn't come to this diner very often while Good Stuff was open, but I have to admit, the food is better here. They've done outdoor dining very well, especially since adding the additional seating in the street. (Though the heat lamps don't always work there.) Food arrives hot, and it's tasty. The menu is enormous, so there's lots to choose from. The staff aren't as attentive as they could be, but if you ask for what you need, it (usually) arrives.
Good food, good service. A bit pricey for what you get but pretty on par for Manhatten.
Went here with my grandma. I had a chicken pot pie. It is hot, and you don't have to worry about it getting cold. We thought it was quite yummy. I also had a matzo ball soup. My grandma had the open face brisket sandwich, with mash potato, and chicken noodle soup. She really likes the soups. She said the brisket was easy to chew, the mash potato was smooth, and the gravy gave it good flavor. We felt the mash potato and sandwich were luke warm. I love diners.
Fun themed sandwiches, have always wanted to eat Robert Deniro
To me it's just like a movie critic who downgrades Fast and Furious Six because it didn't have a stronger romantic storyline. One look at this place either on anyone of the numerous apps or in person and you should immediately pick up that this place is a diner! When I looked at all the other area breakfast and brunch options I could tell the food would be more artisan than functional. More of an culinary experience than just a meal. I was expecting diner quality food, let's say, something like 1.5 steps above Denny's or IHOP (IHOB.maybe now) you know what; I got exactly what I was expecting. They greated me as soon as I came in. They noticed when my coffee was low and filled it. They noticed my table was sticky and they fixed it. They handled my special order variance to my brunch, spot on. It was also fun to see the number of "pick up - To Go" orders that were cranked out of this place. Both third party food delivery services and plain old normal folk coming in to pick up an order to go. So...to all those two star reviewers I say "What we're you expecting when you were presented with the visual evidence of the place and where did it deliver something....less?" I felt very comfortable sitting here in my shorts and tennis shoes and looking at many other of the options in the area I'm not sure I would have felt they same at anyone of the others
Very good location and a wide variety of food on the menu, serving size were pretty normal for NYC! Very good service overall 4/10.
Went here for dinner. The food was okay and it's pricier than some other diners. The service isn't great because we waited a long time for the food and we had to ask another server if they forgot our order. They have a good seating area, both inside and outside. This place isn't bad but it isn't great either!
Small to medium sized diner on the corner, right by the subway. Fairly empty at 1PM, so we were seated right away. Good service. Coffee hot and delicious. Eggs up were okay, as was my wife’s breakfast sandwich. Our milk and sugar scraps were picked up right away, and our coffee cups refilled just as quickly. Tiny, old bathrooms. But the diner was just what we were looking for on a rainy day after a doctor visit; good service, good food, and a place to relax without being rushed. Plus, the bill was remarkably inexpensive for these days.

Service is okay but the food is not that great.
Very disappointing. Got my order wrong. My egg-and-sausage breakfast sandwich came with what looked like split hot dogs laid out on top of the eggs. Disappointing.
Nice dinner. Very busy. Food was okay. Regular dinner food. No complaints but also nothing to rave about. I had eggs with bacon and French toast. Service was quick considering how busy they were, so that was good. They accommodated our big group with out any issues. we just sat separated because of the lay out but it was fine. Prices were not that bad given the location.
Had burgers for lunch that were good. Atmosphere was terrible because the doors were open and they had two men slow sipping beers in the outside tables while commenting on every woman who passed by. Also the service was awful. The waitress did not come by on a regular basis or even once to see how we are doing. When I asked for a soda refill she stated, I refilled you once and will have to charge you. I never had that experience at this diner before. Asked for extra napkins and she counted out 2 napkins. Who does that these days?
I’ve dined here more times than I can count both dine-in and delivery and have had a good experience overall. However, as of recent have had bad experiences with delivery. Didn’t leave a tip the last two times and say what you want about that but I should not be pestered about it from the driver, and that’s exactly what I got. Very rude and unprofessional, I might go back to dining in person but god-forbid I forget to click tip late at night when I’m hungry and need food delivered.
It's ok....nothIng to brag about. Berger was good. Roast beef was 2.5 stars.
This is a mediocre diner with acceptable, but not very satisfying food. A burger deluxe will set you back $21 including tax and tip. They charge 4% for credit cards, which would be ok if it was disclosed on the door coming in and the menu, but they do neither. Additionally they calculate the tip on the amount that includes the tax. These are ways to pad the bill that are not really acceptable.
Came here for a lunch work on a Monday around noon. Was a little busy but our party of four were seated right away. The menu features the usual diner fare with a good variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, platters and meals. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with onion rings. The good - the onion rings were outstanding. Great batter flavor and the right amount of crispness. The so so - the wrap was nothing special. Breaded chicken on a wheat tortilla with cheese and some buffalo sauce. I really did not care much for the buffalo sauce, it was not spicy or tangy at all. The sauce was kind of dried out and more of a robust almost paste to it. The service was adequate from our service, not very friendly though. The food did come out very quickly and the staff at the counter was very friendly and chatty when we went to pay. Overall, not a bad experience but not a place I would go back to with so many other choices in NYC.
The food and coffee were pretty decent: lovely fries, solid BLT and pastrami on rye. However, the sandwiches were advertised on the menu as served with coleslaw and pickle—got neither. Ambiance is cute, classic diner vibe. Service somewhat inattentive. Be advised that the prices listed on the menu are for cash payments; with card there's a 4% surcharged. We ended up paying over $70 for a couple of sandwiches with sides and coffee—kinda steep, probably won't be going back.
The sandwich and mousse were great! The pie on the other hand, i doubt was ‘homemade’ as the menu stated. I was so excited for that pie but it was honestly a pretty dissappointing slice. The crust was completely devoid of taste and even texture. Oh well. The vibes were good and the music was fantastic! And the people and service were fun. But dont get the pie. (Or note to diner Update your pie!)

Despite not being very full on a Sunday morning we werent made very welcome.since we were only buying coffee. Wouldn't take a tip via credit card payment. Wouldn't go again personally
Food was good, but they were charging an extra $1.50 per egg and weren’t clear about it. Unhappy and sad about it.
The service is always lovey the wait staff are great. The food is fine but it is over the top expensive for what it is. Today I had a side of steamed broccoli and a garden salad and black coffee and it cost me $30. I consistently find it way way over priced for what it is and until they manage their prices I will not go back there. You can go down the road to CAVA for a full salad with toppings for $15.
The service is always fast and accommodating and I used to love coming here. There's photographs of famous actors and actresses lining the walls which adds to the charm. Very recently I had the chicken souvlaki platter which made me sick to my stomach afterwards. Considering the lunch was almost $30 I was sick to my stomach twice. Unfortunately I will not be going back.
Ordered 4 breakfast dishes, soooo bad. 2 Of the worst omelettes I have ever had in my life. Skip skip skip skip, service was good but clearly this place is serving the after hours crowd where people are too drunk to care about taste. Go to the bodega, there was zero zero zero flavor or seasoning.
Extremely overpriced. $6.50 for a kids apple juice. $8.50 for a side of fries. Chicken parm was $16 and tiny- didn’t even come w a side. Will not return
A completely different dish was brought to me than the one I ordered. They don’t even sound similar. Then we had trouble getting the check and they wanted to charge me for the extra entree I didn’t order or have. Finally I got out of there just too late to miss my bus because the check took so long. I would not go back here.
I am strictly upset about the food.... Place looked nice and clean but my sausage was still frozen and I felt sick after eating it. Also my soda and beer were almost flat. I did like the steak and eggs though
Their buffalo wings were not buffalo wings, so I was very disappointed. The California chicken open sandwich was not good either. The pita bread was rough, the chicken barely seasoned, and just overall the flavour very poor. Lovely man serving got the rating to 2 stars, but the food I received was poor.
120$+ for 2 salads and some fajitas that weren't even good. The toilets were not very clean and it was only one person at a time. Waiters were nice, but overall I probably wouldn't go again.
It's a factory. Drop the food at the table as quickly as possible and drop the check. Food is unremarkable at best. I Know that restaurants need to flip tables quickly, but it shouldn't be at the expense of food quality or service standards. Location is convenient. Dining room was warm on a cold day.
We had coffee which was really good. But we ordered an omelette which had hair in. But there was no one to check up on the table even once. And the salt was weirdly sweet. And even other tables had the issue. Overall an average experience.
Chicken salad sandwich was ok and the cost of it was decent but do not get the chicken fingers - it is mushy because of the amount of oil they used and the meat was rubbery. Left there feeling gross. Waiter was ok so giving 2 stars. Also chicken fingers cost approx $20 which is a complete rip off. Waiter should have discounted or waived the cost of that meal considering my daughter didn’t eat it.
"Hollywood dinner" had a special ring to it - that's what we thought when we first saw the name. First; We tried the French onion soup! It didn't make me want to order anything else!!! The soup tasted bland and had a watery texture, no flavor -I would say water was added or cooked with instead of broth - with and different types of chopped toast thrown in earlier . It said it’s served with melted mozzarella cheese so can’t complain about this part. My partner also had pastrami sandwich and ring onion and he was ok with them BUT based on his words ( it used to be better ) Also when the receipt came, they also made us pay more for the onion rings as it says ( substitute / switch to onion rings for $3.5 and they billed us the original price)
Sunday brunch, Ordered Eggs Benedict was so in the mood for that, what a disappointment, the hollandaise sauce was too thick no flavor and too orange in color. Was so disappointed that the mimosas was to watered down. The rest of my company said that it was an average and below. I can say a good thing about our waiter even though it was busy he stayed calm and collected. Sorry don't thing I'll go there again for brunch. 😕😞

I ordered a Reuben with fries and an order of bread pudding. The Reuben had no dressing, the bread was very soggy, the fries were stone cold, and they replaced the bread pudding without even attempting to contact me or cancel/refund the item. Even the pickle was funky tasting. There are so many good diners in the city. This is not one. Their disregard for the customer’s order is telling.
We ordered Greek Salad with Salmon and Pork Chops with Mashed Potatoes and Salad. The salmon was inedible. I threw it in the garbage and made myself a veggie burger. The pork chops were dry as bone and the potatoes unseasoned and tasteless. This diner use to be exceptionally good. Definitely not the case anymore.
Really disappointing. Their menu prices are wrong and you don’t find out they’re charging you $3-5 more per dish than advertised until you get the bill. At least the food should be good, right? Nope. Unseasoned, lacking, and overall very disappointing. Service is okay. About what you would expect. I’d recommend anywhere else. It’s somewhat affordable but not worth it regardless.
Absolutely rude. I was sitting outside with my service dog. Drinking three teas. I asked them multiple times if it is OK if I just stay around for the teas instead of eating something because I came just back from the dentist. They said it is no problem. After 20 minutes, they came to check on me all the time. Shortly after they made me pay and leave. And they told me that I am not worthy of their service, because the heating would be too expensive to just have the heating lamp on just for me alone. There were heating lamps over each table. And I only used one. Just like every other guest would have done too. Matter fact, they have turned it on for me. They kept on opening the door, so that cold air would come in, probably hoping I would leave faster.
Definitely pricey for a diner with meal comparable to a food truck. Location being primarily NYU population contributing to the commerce, it’s too pricey with a 2 cost structure (cash versus card) plus a premium price. They could not really get the order right. That’s another disappointment.
I stopped for lunch today. I sat at a single booth and ordered Lentil soup. I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for the soup as flies covered the table and landed on me as well. The hostess came over and asked if I ordered and I said yes 15 minutes ago. I complained about the flies said I’m leaving. She pointed to the door.
This place was always mediocre at best but I just had the worst meal. I ordered a western omelette and a toasted bagel. The bagel was stale and very chewy. The omelette was subpar but the only redeeming part of the meal since it was made to order. But the worst were the home fries…they were either over spiced or worst leftover and heated up. I couldn’t tell which it was. I’m done with this place. If you’re looking for a good diner, or even a half way decent diner, this is not the place for you. I gave them one star because there was nothing wrong with my iced tea!
Good service but my omelette was 30 dollars 🤣😂
Wasn’t expecting slices of cheese on fries when I ordered cheese fries off the menu. Also their wings must come from parakeets because they’re small with very little meat. Just like the “Marilyn Monroe” picture they have on the wall (which is actually Scarlett Johansson) most things here aren’t what they’re supposed to be.
This was a HORRIBLE experience. The staff there - particularly the manager! - was an A-1 jerk. The food was so bad, we barely ate anything. TERRIBLE customer service with BAD ATTITUDES! We will NOT be going back!
MISLEADING/ DECEPTIVE PRICING. Sign at the register offered cash discount. HOWEVER the prices for cash were actually the advertised price and instead of a discount there was a 4% surcharge for paying by credit card. This was not advertised or mentioned till after food had been consumed. Food was of average to good quality, serve staff were very nice.
