The only place in Financial District that you can find a Freddo Espresso is here. Spanakopita and Teropita are amazing and the greek plates are authentic.

Incredible!! Discovered this gem when I was playing there (they have weekly jazz!!), but was impressed by all their Greek dish offerings and the sweets as well! Their Greek lasagne couldn’t be better, and the baklava is amazing as well, and the staff are so friendly! Coffee is solid too! Perfect spot for a nice lunch or a snack! Will be back! :)

While waiting for a customer meeting, I found Pi Bakerie. Awesome baklava and smooth chai latte. If I wasn’t going to a meeting, I would stay here trying each type they serve. 5 stars.

We went here every morning of our vacation. The ham and cheese croissants were buttery and delicious. Very clean place with plenty of seating. And a great selection of fresh baked treats. This was genuinely my favorite place we ate while in NYC.

The best choice to start your day energetically.. Good breakfast with very good coffee. Greek culture and, as always, Greek hospitality..

So happy to see the quality Soho Greek bakery open in my neighborhood! This location is much bigger with ample seating. It offers a wide variety of yummy savory and sweet options. The food is separated in several sections: koulouri (Greek bagels), Greek cookies, Greek yogurt, cakes, salads (e.g. lentils, tzatziki, eggplant spread), pies (zucchini, moussaka, spanakopita, etc.), and pastries. We got a bunch of salad and pies to have as dinner. All were delicious especially the lentils salad, creamy feta cheese in the Greek salad, cannellini with parsley salad, and the eggplant spread were super flavorful. Look forward to coming back to trying other options including the coffee. Service was friendly and efficient.

I had been searching for a healthy option in the FiDi area, and am pleased to have discovered Pi Bakerie. The Greek cuisine offered is both delicious and fresh, all at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is welcoming and pleasant. Among my many favorites are the baked chicken, lemon potatoes, salads, fresh juices and the authentic Greek pastries. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking quality, flavorful food in a comfortable setting!

Some friends suggested us this place and when we arrived we felt more than welcome, we felt the real meaning of Greek hospitality, at first we had some coffee and after the we tasted some of their Greek food recipies, i can say that they tasted even better than in Greece, also the cookies, the cookies are amazing!! We would go there again and again and again!

I’m not even sure where to start—this bakery is simply PERFECT for breakfast. The variety is amazing, the coffee is top-notch, and the staff is genuinely friendly. The interior is super clean and charming, with just the right vibe—nothing pretentious or overpriced. Honestly, I can count on one hand the number of breakfast spots in the entire state that can compare. Fantastic job!

Baddie in a budget - 11.25 for a lox sandwhich and a cafe Au lait. Jesus Christ I found my go to spot now. Lady over the counter was very kind. Overall a 10/10 experience.

The food was great. It wasn’t too expensive and so close to the hotel we stayed at. I really liked the pistachio croissant and the Greek coffee. The premises were clean and accessible.

Really enjoyed having breakfast here! There was enough to choose from that differs from yoghurt with granola to a bagel with different toppings. Loved the ambiance there and the people working, were really nice. Would recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch!

Delicious spinach and feta croissant along with a chocolate croissant with…wait for it…chocolate in it, and the good kind. A little hard to find with all the scaffolding but is on the South side of the street.

Very nice service and very reasonable $9 prosecco and $10 wine. Both were quite good too. Nice pastries to boot. Beautiful little terrace too - a bit of an oasis in FiD

We come here every Sunday afternoon for the live music outside. It’s a beautiful vibe; the music is great, the service is friendly (the manager Theo is fantastic!!) and the food. Omg, the food. Honestly, the best Greek treats you’ll have in NYC. The Zucchini Pie. The truffle mushroom pie. The Greek salad. The BAKLAVA!!!!! One of my fave spots.

Fab breakfast spot - with seating - in the Financial District while touristing in area before heading uptown for Tribeca shops opening 🙄. Daughter and I went for beef pie, bougatsa and blueberry cream cheese croissant with coffee and juice. Coffee and juices definitely hit their mark, bougatsa and croissant were outstanding. Service warm, friendly and welcoming - lost star only for offering payment in my home currency (which is never a winner for the customer 😉...).

Tried the Nutela baklava and the chocolate baklava, they were great. loved them although it had a bit too much sugar syrup for my tasting. I also got a flat white it was okay. overall the place atmosphere was nice and they have a big selection of salads, bagels and sweets. I will definitely be back to try more!

J

Very nice experience. I arrived in the area much earlier than my movie was supposed to start at Alamo theater across the street, so I sat in this bakery and decided to have a tart and cappuccino. So delicious 😋 The atmosphere was nice, soft music. I will definitely visit again.

I was looking for a great place to have Chai tea and work. Ambience 5, service 5, and tons of pastries 🍰!! Tea was 4 and could have been a tad bit stronger but still good. By the way, I stumbled upon the gem. Glad I did.

Came here for breakfast and they had soo many options! We got the frittata which came with the salad and I got the blueberry cream cheese croissant while my husband picked the chocolate croissant. Food was amazing and warm. For all of this plus our drinks it was around $40.

My dinner at Pi Bakerie hit all the right comfort notes. Supportive, practical, and sincere. The whole menu delivered great flavors. This place creates a contemporary scene. All aspects of the meal satisfied us.

I’m reluctant to leave a review only because of the apprehension of influencing a change in something already so good. The food here; authentic & perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere; bright & welcoming. And, the Baklava; I can’t even describe except to say it melts, it drips, its syrup coats the mouth with the perfect balance between savory and sweet. I’m inspired.

S

Bakery is an understatement of the delicious hot meals they offer on top of the pastries. Tried the meatballs/ lemon potatoes, galaktobouriko (custard pie) and the zucchini pie... to die for. Greek coffee....spot on. Being of greek decent...the meatballs and lemon  potatoes brought me back to when my dad used to cook for me as a child....thank you.

H
HANE Xxxx

What an amazing find. It is more than a bakery, they serve salads, sandwiches and lunch items, all of which are delicious. But their Greek pastries are out of this world and super authentic. I am so happy I stumbled across this place which looks small from outside but is pretty spacious inside. They also have a great coffee selection (including ultra strong Greek coffee). It is nice to get a cup and sit outside next to greenery and sounds of water fountain

I’m a foreign correspondent who moved to Wall Street three weeks ago. Since my international moving boxes haven't arrived yet, I’ve been desperately searching for a cafe with great coffee and a productive atmosphere. And finally... I found the perfect spot! The bite-sized baklava pairs beautifully with an Americano. I was feeling a bit under the weather and burnt out, but I truly found healing here. To be honest, I want to tell everyone about it, but I’m also worried it might get too crowded! lol

A fantastic bakery and restaurant in FiDi. Authentic Greek food and baked goods, but they also have classic coffee expressions and French/italian style baked goods. 10/10 recommend.

GET SOME DELICIOUS PASTRIES TO GO… AND HAVE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A NICE CUP OF COFFEE. First of all, the food is delicious. The Greek yogurt is to die for and all the pastries are 10/10. The inside is cozy (although the loud playlist selection ruins the ambiance a little bit imo). Cookies they sell there are a must. They have some of my favorite Greek products (hello Caprice)! All that said, they’ve let the place go down a little bit in the last few months. I used to see the owner there when the place was brand new and now I don’t see him anymore, and that might have something to do with the quality going down significantly in terms of the service. 1. Prices fluctuate randomly, which I DON’T appreciate— getting charged $9 for a coffee and $7 the next day, for example, seems sketchy. 2. The employees (not all but just the guys) have terrible manners and seems like they are more models that baristas. By the way, I always struggle to open the door while pushing my stroller and NOT A SINGLE TIME, even though they’re not busy and directly looking at me, they’ve offered to help. 3. Okay I’ve mentioned expensive coffee but not how awful it is. The pastries and cakes are delicious but it’s worth taking them to go and getting your coffee somewhere else. The coffee is so watered down and the coffee beans taste burnt. Oh, one time I ordered a vanilla or some other flavor late and the syrup sat there in the bottom… she didn’t even stir it. Gross. 4. Lastly, the bathroom is disgusting. And I can’t help but notice this guy cleaning everything with the same cloth and just running around with a dirty tray… like the place doesn’t look clean anymore. 5. Lastly, the outside has been completely ruined by people who smoke cigarettes and pot outside the restaurant. Also, one can’t sit outside without at least one erratic person approaching and the coffee shop doesn’t do anything about it. It use to be my go-to place during the whole postpartum period, but since it has become a gathering spot for smokers and individuals acting erratically alike, I avoid it now. It’s sad because I genuinely used to love it.

We visited Pi Bakery on Cedar Street in Manhattan on a cold, snowy day, and it was the perfect cosy escape from the weather. The place was warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed a delicious warm apple pie that was absolutely gorgeous. They even whipped up some cream to go with it. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We also had a hot chocolate and an Earl Grey tea, both of which were spot on. It was simply lovely to receive such genuinely excellent service, and we would happily return

Stopped by Pi Bakerie craving baklava. The mini size was just right. I ended up trying the meatballs and Gigantes. The tomato sauce on the meatballs was flavorful but not heavy, and the Gigantes were nicely cooked and tasty. Cozy spot to sit inside, with friendly staff. Simple place for dessert or a savory bite.

Beautiful place with great food and fast, friendly service. The whole café looks spotless and very well-organized — the counters, the pastry displays, and the open kitchen area are all clean and inviting. The pastries are fresh and neatly arranged, and you can tell the staff puts real care into presentation. The team works quickly but with a positive attitude, which makes the experience even better. Overall, a bright, clean, and welcoming spot — definitely worth visiting.

Best gigantes beans ever, made so delicious and with sautéed spinach just like home style like you could expect in a small village in Greece. If it was topped with fresh olive oil it would have been 110% perfection.

Pi is the kind of place every neighborhood dreams of having. You can feel how much the owner(s)? loves what they do and how much pride they take in sharing not only the food, but the culture behind it. The dishes are made with care, and there’s a sense of warmth and authenticity that makes the whole experience special. It can’t be easy running a place like this, but they’ve created something that feels welcoming and rooted in the community. Pi adds so much to the neighborhood vibe — it’s a spot that brings people together over great food and genuine hospitality. Also love their hours!

We’ve visited this Greek bakery/café several times now, and as a fan of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, I’m thrilled to have discovered this gem. The zucchini pie is a standout—savory, flaky, and incredibly satisfying. The orange pie is also excellent. They have a great selection of high-quality teas. The space itself is beautiful—modern, airy, and inviting, with plenty of seating both indoors and on the outdoor patio. P.S.: The service isn’t perfect and could use some enhancements.

I took the 2 train from Flatbush to Pi Bakery with my Nephew Meeko. We were accompanied by his mom; who was on her A game Killing her inbox The subway was clean and uncrowded; Meeko settled easily even though I noticed the lady next to me was a bit anxious about him. We practiced center and standing on 2 for a few stops. I listened to MIT's deep learning course on YouTube via my Apple AirPods Max first generation. We got off at Wall Street, and exited at 28 Liberty street and were greeted by bright warm light and works of art. I felt fortunate to call Manhattan my home. Pi Bakery was just off the plaza the de facto third place of the neighborhood where my neighbors work, socialize, network, and unwind . This spot has been vital for fostering community as the neighborhood has evolved from offices to residential. My order today was an Apple carrot, ginger, green juice. The weather has been moody lately and I prefer nature for an immunity boost & also got my second shot of espresso of the day they brew Devoción, my 2nd favorite coffee after Black Fox. Also pictured me drinking Greek wine with lots of antioxidants, and the best Greek Yogurt in the city. Note to self get the Olive oil next time I run out. Breakfast today ❤️

This place is very good for those looking for healthy options as they change their menus and offer a good variety of drinks. I love their seating availability and the spacing of the tables. I brought my laptop to study, but their Wi-Fi was not strong enough as it took some time to load pages. Other than this, customer service is great, and I do recommend trying their roasted chicken and salmon either for dining in or takeaway!

If you find yourself in NYC’s Financial District and want a well-executed Greek bakery/café with both savory and sweet options, Pi Bakerie FiDi is a very solid choice. The ambiance is comfortable, the variety is strong, and the location is convenient. That said—if you’re after a premium boutique pastry experience (very high-end croissants or ultra artisanal desserts) or the absolute best value in town, you might find a slightly more specialised bakery elsewhere. Verdict: Recommended — especially for lunch, coffee + pastry breaks, or a casual sit‐down stop in FiDi.

Nice shop. But we were neither impressed by the coffee nor the baked goods. The not a bagels were not tasty to us. Lastly, we felt not nicely treated by the staff. They were not friendly, not really trying to help anything beyond their standard menu and you can pick up your coffees yourself and bring your plates back yourself. It is one of those places where a tipp is not needed as there is no service.

A

Salty food was not that good. I came because they had such amazing reviews, and with no doubt, the sweets look AMAZING, but I just got salty breakfast which was very very average. Coffee was great.

J

Great service great atmosphere, unfortunately their veggie based pastry had a few pieces of sand in it, probably from not thoroughly washing the vegetables beforehand. Had multiple very unpleasant crunches while chewing/eating.

A

I come here for the baqlavas which are very tasty. However, their drinks are mediocre and quite disappointing because they are usually served cold. Me and my friend ordered the chai latte and HOT chocolate which was ironically cold to room temperature at best. When I told the barista (whom I had tipped generously) that it was cold - he told me to touch the frothing pitcher and said this is hot. When your customer tells you something was served cold and you want it hot, I expect it to be made hot instead of being asked to touch a frothing pitcher. But, oh well.

I always order the same thing for lunch whenever I go here but sometimes they're sold out so today I decided to place the online pickup order earlier to ensure I would get my two favorite types of not-a-bagel. I got a text saying the order was ready but got waylaid at work for 40 minutes but it's not like the food goes bad so I knew it wouldn't be a problem to pick it up later. Unfortunately when I arrived and said my name they then tried to pick the two not-a-bagels out of the cabinet and they were sold out. I'm not sure why I would be told my order was ready if nobody had actually set aside the food. Very disappointed

Unfortunately, the dish arrived barely warm, and to my dismay, it tasted anything but fresh—it had clearly turned sour. I managed only two spoonfuls before giving up entirely. Since I was with friends and didn’t want to create a scene, I waited until I was alone to return the dish and explain the issue. The girl behind the counter acknowledged the problem but made no effort to rectify it. With the owners absent, only two young staff members were working, and they appeared unequipped to handle such situations. By the time a left the place to go home, I felt nauseous, I just got home , with stomach cramps and threw up acidic white foam. While I’m willing to pay a premium for quality food, I draw the line at dishes that are neither fresh nor properly served. Initially, I considered reporting the incident to the health department but decided instead to leave this review as a warning. Needless to say, I won’t be returning to this establishment. Unfortunately so because the coffee is fine and the place great .

The coffee and pastries are good but y’all should clean your air vent. I sat at the table next to the outlet and under the air vent and the black stuff from the air vent kept getting all over the table and my drink. Kinda gross and I only discovered it halfway. Hope I don’t get sick….🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

Idk why but today I got small Cappuccino. It was extra small. So bad taste. I get coffee every day from u, and bakery. Everything was really good. But today u make me sad from morning.

Food poisoning from the chicken pie! My husband and I got extremely sick after eating the chicken pie. I’m pregnant and ended up in the ER because of it. The worst part is that when I went back to let them know—just so they could be more careful, since I used to love this place—one employee was understanding, but another treated me like I was crazy. Very disappointing and upsetting experience. Go to the soho location.

I don’t normally leave bakery reviews, but I must say this place quite possibly has the worst chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. $5 is a complete ripoff for this. It was in a bag in the counter, so I’m not sure how long they sit there for, but it was way too soft. If you’re looking for a good cookie, look elsewhere! I hope management sees this and fixes the way they do things to ensure fresher and higher quality products are sold.

I brought one of my friends to Pi Bakerie because I’d had positive experiences there in the past. However, when I went recently with a friend visiting from another state, we didn’t have such a pleasant experience. My friend ordered a bagel and a latte—something simple, as she wasn’t sure what to get. When we sat down and looked at our food, we noticed a pair of fake eyelashes stuck between the bagel halves. Keep in mind, my friend wasn’t wearing false eyelashes, so we immediately knew they weren’t hers. She approached one of the workers and politely asked if she could receive a refund. A gentleman behind the counter responded by asking, “Are you sure it wasn’t your eyelash that fell onto the bagel?” While that might seem like a reasonable question, my friend reiterated that they were clearly fake eyelashes and that she wasn’t wearing any at the time. It’s important to note that false eyelashes come in pairs, and there was only one lash stuck to the bagel—meaning you’d be able to see the other one still on her if it were hers. The real issue came from how the worker resisted giving her a refund, even though she had visible proof that the eyelash wasn’t hers and was still attached to the bagel. After some back-and-forth, he eventually processed a refund—but for the wrong order, which my friend realized after checking the receipt. At that point, she decided not to pursue the matter further, and we both left. I understand that the worker might have been tired or misunderstood the situation, but the issue was his initial refusal to offer a refund despite clear evidence. Overall, the worker was rude and dismissive, which left both of us disappointed in an establishment I’d previously enjoyed.
