We had another great visit to the DH Lescombes Cottonwood location and this one really stood out thanks to our bartender and server, Justin. We have been here multiple times and Justin has been by far the best server we have had. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. We shared the meatball appetizer and the New Mexico cheesesteak for lunch and everything was phenomenal. The food came out hot and flavorful and paired perfectly with the wine flights we ordered. Justin took the time to walk us through the wines, made great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed. Great food and wine are expected here, but exceptional service makes the experience. Justin absolutely elevated our visit and is a big reason we will keep coming back. If you stop by this location, do yourself a favor and sit with Justin.
The food and service are outstanding, far better than I expected them to be. We dined with another couple, and everyone loved their meals. I ordered the Chimayo Red Chile Pork Chop which was one of the best pork chops I’ve had in any restaurant. It was cooked perfectly (Med, as suggested by the staff), tender and juicy. The flavor profile was excellent with the Chimayo red chile seasoning. Great mashed yukon gold potatoes and the seanonal vegetable was broccolini. The broccolini was expertly cooked Al dente. My wife had the blackened Rainbow Trout, which also came with the broccolini. The trout was not fishy, it was moist, and the garlic butter and mango pico were excellent. Service was just outstanding, thanks to our server, Ashley. For the quality and portion sizes, I feel the prices were actually quite affordable considering the costs of high-end Restaurants in this town. I’m happy to see there is an opportunity to order this excellent pork chop up in Santa Fe, where we live at the wine bar. I highly recommend Lescombes Winery & Bistro and will certainly return.
This location is amazing with two patios, city views, a huge bar area and very well appointed dining room. We had reservations so we were seated right away. We have the wine club membership here which is so great! This evening we had the salmon, the chicken Parmesan, potstickers, and calamari. All were very delicious! We got bottles of wine to take home and two different wine flights to pick the wines we wanted. Definitely will be back soon:))
Sean, Sarah and the establishment made our anniversary a very special night. They went out of there way to place my wife's flowers and balloons on our table secretly before we arrived and gave wonderful service and foe that I thank you so much. The food was amazing and we'll surely return. The atmosphere was on point. I recommend trying this place.
After a few past visits that left me uncertain about the Cottonwood Les Combes location, my latest experience on Albuquerque’s Westside completely changed the narrative — thanks to the extraordinary hospitality of Aurora Jones and her charming high-tech sidekick, Robot Rosie. Aurora wasn’t even my assigned server that evening, yet within ten minutes of being seated, she noticed I’d been overlooked and — in an act of genuine kindness and professionalism that defines true hospitality — “adopted” our table. She immediately brought warmth, wit, and grace to the experience, balancing charm and attentiveness in a way few in the service industry manage anymore. The food was as impressive as Aurora’s service. I opted for two Wagyu specialties: the **Wagyu beef burger**, seared to perfection with a crisp edge and molten center of juicy richness, and the **Wagyu Chimayo red chile grilled pork chop**, a masterpiece of flavor. The Chimayo red chile added that quintessential New Mexico heat — not overpowering, but vibrant and earthy, amplifying the marbled tenderness of the pork. Both dishes arrived *piping hot*, delivered by none other than **Rosie, the autonomous robot server**, who rolled up with impressive precision and just the right amount of Silicon Desert flair. Located just down the road from Intel’s Rio Rancho factory, Les Combes seems to have borrowed a few programming secrets — the level of culinary coding here was flawless. Rosie’s delivery subroutine executed perfectly, but it was Aurora’s human touch that infused the experience with genuine hospitality, personality, and connection. After this visit, I can wholeheartedly say Les Combes has elevated its game. Between premium Wagyu meats cooked to exacting standards, and Aurora Jones’ standout service ethic, my faith in fine dining here has been fully restored. Next time I visit, I’ll be sure to check if Aurora is on shift — and maybe bring Rosie a software update as a tip.
Stellar service, amazing views, and with Ashley as our server, it was an amazing first time here. We kept things light for lunch but the plates were heavy on flavor and portions, even for a lunch special that we didn't expect such an upscale looking place to have. The meatloaf was so nostalgic but has its own New Mexican kick with the red chile glaze on it and the broccolini gave this $11 dish such an elevation. The brussels sprouts were cooked just right, with a snap at the beginning and finished with the fully roasted softness inside. The shrimp was light enough on the tummy and the bacon that surrounded these guys added a punch of crispiness to the saturated seafood. Charcuterie boards are so yesterday, we need to go back to dip spreads, specifically this amazingly blended hummus and fresh fromage. We cannot wait to go back and see Ashley for another lunch service with the Sandias.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. Our server was excellent and the food even more! We had the Canyon Five red wine, Calamari, Baked Brie, Frenched Chicken, Pot Roast, and Creme Brulee *chefs kiss* hands down my favorite restaurant in the whole city! I'm so glad the cottonwood location opened up. It's beautiful inside. Fresh flowers at the table. A view of the city from the window at our booth. It's was just lovely! We were impressed to see our food delivered by this fancy little robot. So futuristic! Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion or quite honestly no occasion at all. It's a must visit!
My wife, Ellie, and I had our wedding reception on the Sandia Patio. Everyone loved their meals, we offered the chicken parm, pot roast, and salmon dishes. The service was top notch, they were attentive yet hidden as to not interrupt our reception. They even gave our guests some great recommendations on cocktails. We are so happy we chose to do our wedding reception at LesCombes. The wine was also amazing and we celebrated with their Brut, which is our favorite. Diane was the event coordinator and was very helpful in planning our event. The managers were wonderful that nights as well and ensured our event ran smoothly. Even with the planning, the event coordinator and manager were willing to meet to discuss and make sure our vision came through for our special day. Special shout out to their managers Thomas and Sarah for their attentiveness and really appreciated Sarah checking in during our event to make sure we were getting everything we needed.
Excellent first time experience. Val was great server and also knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu. We started with the jalapeño bacon wrapped shrimp & the pesto meatballs; both were delicious and any qualms we had mixing the flavors from the 2 dishes were unfounded. My husband decided to go with the pot roast and it was perfectly tender and delicious. I was equally pleased with my steak bearnaise. We look forward to returning and sampling there many other offerings.
Food, ambience, and service was great. The hummus and honey feta with pita triangles were sooo good. The chicken Parmesan was huge and so flavorful. Nichole gave us amazing service! 10/10 reccomend
My fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary dinner at this location on 10/28. I have to say this was our first time and will definitely not be our last. The appetizer and dinner were absolutely delicious and our waitress, Val, was phenomenal! Her customer service was on point and she and the staff made our night so special!! Val was very attentive and she even served us a delicious dessert on the house for us choosing D.H Les Combes to celebrate our anniversary! Thanks again for such an amazing and memorable experience/anniversary!! ~Mark & Sara
We came here for a fellowship lunch. The place was clean and servers were nice. I ordered the steak salad and it was delicious. My friend ordered the fish and chips and said it’s the best fish and chips ever. We’ll definitely come back. 🥰
Had a great night celebrating a birthday! We were seated quickly and our server Kari was immediately attentive and checked in on us all night. She is incredibly sweet and made sure we all had what we needed. The food was great and of course the wine was amazing. Will definitely be back!
OK, this is our third time here and it’s time for a review. First of all we came when it was super busy walked in and were seated within 10 minutes. The staff super friendly, very attentive, including the managers each time we’ve had Karen as our waitress not only is she knowledgeable, but she makes you feel like you’re at her home the food well just delicious the wine very very well paired with the food. I personally love the hummus appetizer as my meal, especially when they add the honey with the bread definitely a place that we will bring friends and family.
We absolutely love this beautiful restaurant and their wonderful staff! Our Server was Kari, her service was perfect very respectful, attentive and wonderful to speak to. Her service and timing are what we appreciate. We enjoyed bacon wrapped shrimp with the delectable marmalade sauce yummy deliciousness we also enjoyed their meatloaf and their steak salad. I cannot explain to you how delicious the food is just come have a meal of your own! We were seated in a booth where we could see a very beautiful rainbow across our beautiful New Mexican sky thank you, DH Les Combes thank you Kari! - the TUNINGS
Reesa was a great bartender, she turned the sound up so I could hear my football game! My food was delicious and she was wonderful with keeping my drink full. Thank you Reesa for a lovely evening 🤗
Krista was awesome! She was very helpful and knowledgeable when we asked about the wines. So much so, that we joined the wine club! It was our 10 year anniversary tonight and our first time. We will be back!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here so it was a special occasion meal for us, however there were a lot of casual dinners as well and the prices are moderate enough to suit most budgets. We had a reservation and it was busy on a Wednesday but there didn't seem to be a wait. It's a gorgeous space with nice views of the mountains and city at night. The patios look awesome for when the weather warms up. Our server Karen was wonderful; friendly, professional, and fun. The food was paced perfectly and we enjoyed the featured wine of the month as well as a tasting flight. The baked brie is delicious and we had the wagyu beef meatloaf and seafood carbonara for our entrees. Both really delicious!
Came for dinner and, as always, had a wonderful time. We made a reservation for 4:45 PM and were seated right away. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great evening. The restaurant was quite busy, with a few private parties going on, but it didn’t affect the quality of service at all. Our server Sean was attentive and everything came out in a timely manner (except for our fries which he apologized for and took off of our bill) The food was excellent, as it always is—fresh and flavorful. One of the highlights of this location is the view. Whether you're dining inside or out, the scenery adds an extra special touch to the experience. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try their happy hour soon. Highly recommend Lescombes for a relaxed yet upscale dining experience!
The Lescombs team hosted a wonderful event for our holiday work event! The restaurant was decorated with the holiday theme and set up to accommodate our large group of 70+. The service was top notch and exceeded expectations throughout the process, from initial scheduling and catering options provided by David and Thomas, through the excellent service provided by Nichole, Mensah, Jess, and Matthew. Highly recommend Lescombs for your holiday and party events!
It was our first visit to the new location. The ambiance is amazing, on one side is an elegant dining room, on the other is a relaxing bar setting with a great view of the city. Of course, the wine selection is great but was surprised to see a full bar set up with local beer and mixed drinks as well. The food menu has selections from many cuisines and gives you the feeling that they are trying to hit every palate, which isn't necessarily bad but from an establishment such as theirs I'd expect more originality. We ordered the chicken parmesan and the meatloaf, both were good but certainly not equal to the atmosphere and service. All in all, it was a good experience and I would recommend trying them out.
This place is excellent. We like the one near old town that we decided to give this one a try. Great service from Travis, top notch service with energy and very attentive. Thank you Travis. Very tasty food. I recommend the pork chops and the Pot Roast…
I have been wanting to go to this place because I saw they have schnitzel and I love schnitzel. I went with my parents and husband and we all really liked it. We got the bruschetta for an appetizer, it was good, the only issue was the cheese—we all thought the taste of the cheese was a bit bland and it took away from the overall taste. The schnitzel was great and so were the mashed potatoes. My husband got the honey Dijon chicken and he liked it, the portion was just considerably smaller than the portion of the schnitzel. My dad got the Chile Colorado and he also thought it was really good. For dessert I got the crème brûlée and I enjoyed it, my parents go the chocolate torte and they thought it was too chocolatey, but my husband enjoyed it. Overall, we all really liked the food and were happy with it. The waitress was also very nice and so was the atmosphere.
The food and atmosphere is amazing. Ashley did a great job! She is personable and on top of it. We will come back and definitely request her again
What a gem of a restaurant! The appetizer was absolutely amazing and was so big that the two of us couldn’t finish it and still be hungry for our meal. The New Mexican Pasta had a nice bite to it and the chicken Parm was very flavorful, I like when I don’t have to add salt to my dishes:) The service was good and the price was great, especially considering the quality of the food, this will be our go-to for special occasions and for a nice lunch.
We stumbled upon D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro in Alamogordo, NM, without a reservation, but were promptly seated. The staff offered us a wine tasting, which helped us select the perfect bottle to accompany our meal. We ordered a variety of dishes, including burgers, pistachio pasta, New Mexico pasta, meatloaf, and soup. Although there was a brief wait for the main courses, every bite was absolutely delicious. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring our experience was memorable. We highly recommend D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro for its outstanding cuisine, excellent service, and lovely atmosphere. Rating: 5/5 stars Recommendation: Don't miss the wine tasting, and be sure to arrive with an appetite to try their delicious dishes!"
Our wait person, Kari was wonderful. So friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful as well.
Tried for the first time today with my family. I would definitely be returning to this restaurant and bringing others along, too! Our waiter, Joseph, was lovely and had excellent customer service. I got the nm style pasta, it was delicious!
Absolutely delicious! Went for the first time today to have lunch with a few girlfriends. I will definitely be back again. Had the lunch schnitzel for $11 and added a $3 salad. Hope they continue adding broccolini as a side because it was a great addition. Also picture is the crème brûlée, which is fantastic!
I was so excited to try out the new location, and my hubby and I were not disappointed. So happy to have a restaurant like this on our side of town. We were seated at a booth with a window where we could see the mountains. There are two lovely patio areas, too. Really great atmosphere. We had the Baked Brie, which was amazing, I had the Pecan Crusted Chicken, and my husband had Chicken Parmesan. We enjoyed both. The desserts looked wonderful, but we did not get any this time. The price point is fantastic. Appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 glasses of wine for $70. They do have a military discount of 10%. We will definitely be coming back here a lot more often. There was only one small hiccup, when the brie was brought out to the table we were asked if we would like some side plates, to which we said yes. The server said he would be right back. We waited and he never returned with any. Then our waitress came to check on us, and we asked her if she could possibly bring the plates. Again, we waited and unfortunately, we never did get the plates. With the dripping, honey, it just would've been nice to have. Outside of that, our service was fantastic, so I'm still giving 5 stars.
Kari was awesome for my birthday. She made us feel so welcomed and never rushed us. And made a great rec for the wine (I got a bottle eventually) overall she did great
Kari is an asset she is wonderful! Our experience from the time we were seated to the time we left was above and beyond. Every time we visit we will ask to be seated in her section :)
This place has a dim lit, candlelight, and wine atmosphere. A part rustic part western color theme. It can be a romantic, business, or special celebration restaurant that does well with big groups or is a perfect date night hot spot. Kids are welcome here but better to only bring ‘em if they are table appropriate. The food is delicious! No question about it!
My recent visit to Les Combes was a memorable experience. Although we encountered a bit of a slow start upon arrival—with no one initially greeting us—the experience quickly turned around. Our waiter Kirk eventually welcomed us warmly and even offered complimentary wine samples, which was a lovely touch. He was very friendly and attentive. Once we were settled, the service was attentive and efficient. Our food arrived promptly, and each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance was welcoming and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Les Combes and would definitely recommend it to others.
I hosted a group event here and had an amazing experience — especially thanks to our server, Aurora. From the moment we arrived, she was attentive, patient, and incredibly professional, but what stood out most was her warm spirit and positive energy. She managed our group with ease, kept everything flowing smoothly, and made everyone feel taken care of. Aurora truly added to the atmosphere of the night and helped make our Bougie Galentine Soirée a success. Thank you, Aurora — your service and energy were unmatched!
Mensah is one of the best servers here. He brought out everything in a timely manner, he was very cheerful, and overall made our dining experience wonderful. He brought us the new wine of the month which is so good coming from someone who isn’t a fan of semi-sweet wine. He was great to talk to, he was a very happy server and from now on, I would ask for him to be my server. He made sure the food I ate was safe considering my allergies, and I felt super comfortable trusting him with my needs. Now for the food, I had the ribeye and my husband got the fish and chips. He stated “this is the best fish I’ve had in a long time. I’m a HUGE steak person. The ribeye was PHENOMENAL, I mean the FLAVOR! I get my steak medium although I was a little worried trying it here so I got medium-well and honestly it was perfect. I mean juicy, tender. The broccolini was buttery and flavorful and the baked potato was cooked to perfection. My Malvasia-Riesling was amazing as always and the jaleoeño shrimp…to die for. Thank you Mensah for such great service! We will definitely be coming back.
My wife and I have been coming here frequently, and although others have mentioned the club membership before, no one had ever really taken the time to explain it in detail. On this visit, Aurora assisted us and not only mentioned the club, but asked thoughtful questions to understand what we already knew and how it could benefit us since we visit so often. Because she took the time to walk us through everything, we were happy to sign up. We truly appreciate Aurora!!! When we come in, we’re usually just focused on enjoying the delicious food and didn’t realize how great the membership actually is. Big shoutout to Aurora for taking the time to educate us and help us sign up. I would definitely recommend the membership to anyone who visits frequently.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Food and Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sarah, the manager at the Les Combes Westside/Cottonwood location, delivered truly exceptional service for NMHU during an important event we hosted in December. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond to help place and coordinate our order, ensuring every detail was handled smoothly and professionally. What truly set Sarah apart was her personal commitment to the success of the event. She didn’t just manage things from behind the scenes... she showed up and provided on-site service, engaging confidently and graciously with our university board, administration and members of the New Mexico Legislature. Her professionalism, poise, and warm demeanor made a lasting impression on everyone involved. Sarah represented Les Combes with excellence and we appreciate her positive attitude and dedication that helped elevate the entire experience. We are incredibly grateful for her efforts and would enthusiastically recommend her and the location to anyone seeking outstanding service for a high-profile event.
EXCELLENT! First time eating here and we will be back. The prices were very reasonable and the food was terrific! Heather (our server) was wonderful. This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Albuquerque. If you have not gone to D H Lescombes in Cottonwood you are missing out.
My husband and I come here every month and it's wonderful. We've had a variety of servers, Nichole, Mai, Sean and more and they've all been absolutely wonderful. The manager David was so helpful as well. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is next level.
Husband and I visited first time on Veterans Day (58 service years between us). Were pleasantly surprised that such an upscale restaurant offered free meal for vets—thankyou! It paid off, as we will be repeat customers, and refer all of our visiting guests. Atmosphere was pleasant the moment we stepped in the door. Promptly greeted by both a cordial hostess, and a manager. Were seated at our table (booth) of choice. Aurora was our awesome server, and she was very helpful on the menu. She was so knowledgeable about the wines, I thought she might be one of the owners! Impressive that all the servers pitched in as a team, and also gave us wine details (Thank you “big” Matthew). And because of this great service, and large wine selection—we joined their wine club. This gives us additional benefits, including a free appetizer, and free wine flight every MONTH! Took home 3 bottles of wine. Have purchased their red/white ports in past; for gifting to our vacation rental guests (Very rare to find a White Port!) Can’t wait to visit again to taste more of their innovative menu options. And with warmer weather, they have 2 gorgeous patios.
Wow! What can I say about this lovely restaurant? My Mother brought me here for my birthday. It was recommended to us by a family friend named, Tasha. It did not disappoint. The food was great, Nichole was amazing and OMG! The ambience. Will definitely be back. I think it just may become one of our spots. Thanks for making my birthday great!
Krista was absolutely INCREDIBLE! We were able to sample different wines according to our preferences and went home with some bottles! She made us feel so special and welcomed. We think you should give that girl a raise! ❤️ The food was also delicious beyond measure! Keep up the great work! We can’t wait to come back!
Came here today and it is very beautiful inside with a super scenic view and waterfall outside. The staff was very friendly to us and did a good job with service and attentiveness. It was busy and our server seemed to be stretched thin. I got the soup of the day which was red chile, beans, potato, and meat. Very tasty. We got the lavender honey feta and hummus plate and a pot roast plate. All the food was tasty but not very warm. I had a baked potato that was actually on the verge of cold. The flavors were there, and it may have been how busy our server was that our food cooled down, but maybe have some food runners. Overall, great experience. Will be back.
Ended up choosing to go here for my birthday, after seeing great reviews. We made a reservation for 645pm, and were seated at 7:15pm, lol, so that sort of tells you how it started off. However we got a mountain facing seating which was great. Our server was Karan, who was a gem! Enthusiatic, helpful and quick. We ordered the baked brie for starters which was reallly good- the baked almonds, honey and brie went well. For mains, we ordered the grilled salmon. Salmon was perfectly cooked, but could use some sauce or gravy. I also think the veggies that accompanied it were lacking, and would be amazing with mashed potatoes or gratin maybe. We also ordered the pistachio pesto sauce with shrimps, because of dietary restrictions. And we ended up with chicken pistachio pesto! Karan was quick enough to replace it. We did feel that the pasta that came after, with shrimp was lighter in color and the amount of pistachios as made in a dilute sauce. Anyways, we ordered the chocolate torte, only non-alcoholic dessert, it was amazing. Since it was my birthday, Karan put it on the house. So minus a few issues with reservation, seating and the pasta, I would definitely still go back.
Very nice atmosphere and the servers are so friendly and on top of their work. The menu is very limited for vegitarians and absolutely no vegan options. The menu is also very very expensive so be prepared to pay a hefty check at the end of the meal. Other than those two things its really a lovely place.
It was good. I met a friend for lunch. We order from the lunch menu. I had the pecan pesto pasta with chicken and my friend had the NM pasta. The food was good. The service was average. It was pretty busy so the atmosphere was loud and the lady next us laughed incredibly loud but obviously that's not the restaurants fault. Otherwise it was pretty good. Might try for dinner before I decide on this place.
Update sent an email and no response, which is interesting. We were there for late lunch/ early dinner. Great view from the lounge area. The food was delicious, and the service could use some help. We had empty wine glasses and had to flag someone down to order a glass for our entree. The waitress insisted on comped desert. We we mentioned to a mgr that the server had abandoned us and asked for a refill on water. Unfortunately, we weren't offered another glass when the desert was delivered and we had an empty glass. I'm sure that they will eventually get better with the wait staff.
Decided to try it last night for our weekly night out. We really like the place. The Wine and the food was pretty good in my opinion. However, the service was extremely poor. I’m not going to blame it on the establishment, but obviously the waitress was either inexperienced or having a bad night or both. We never got bread when everyone else around us had it and seemed annoyed when I asked for the bread and a second glass of wine. We never got the second glass of wine and when we asked for it again, we were told that we said we didn’t want anymore. never asked if we needed anything or how the food was. I know some customers can be rude. Maybe she had a bad tables that was giving her a hard time but we are not that way at all. We are nice people and good tippers. We don’t expect anybody to kiss our butt. Just want to have decent service. We did not complain, but most likely will not return for a night out But maybe for lunch the food was good. Maybe they just can’t handle dinner service.
I ordered the NY Strip, very tough; sent back. Then tried Meatloaf, it was cold and everything around it. Didn't even desire to send it back. Then the sommelier offered a taste to husband, but then never returned with it. We gave up. We'll continue to frequent the Old Town location. Better food, much better service.
