This place felt like the classic waffle house. I ordered sausage, eggs, and cheese on hashbrowns. It was exactly what I expected. Not overcooked, not super greasy, and it was very tasty. I was there at 10:00a and it was not crowded at all. And there were still plenty of cooks and waiting staff. After eating, I sat and spoke with my friend for a couple of hours and drank coffee. One server checked on us about every 20-30 minutes. I asked them if we needed to leave since our meal was done, but they did not mind us sitting there visiting each other. It also was not very busy, but it did have constant customers. If you stop by there, I hope your service was as good as my friend and mines. I know every customers experience is different, but this was my account of the services we received while we're there on January 26, 2021.

This one seems a cut above most WH I've been in. The customers seemed to be regulars. They were all chatting with the staff and each other. The staff was very friendly and the food was well prepared. I was just passing through, but I will go back if I get the chance.

It's a Waffle House, so don't expect a white tablecloth. Good food, good service, and good prices. I recommend the hash browns. Ask for 'em crispy if you like.

Everything you come to know and love about Waffle House!

We always enjoy Waffle House, but our service today was unusually great! We arrived on a Sunday morning to a location that was about half full, and within just a few minutes it was running over with guests. There were 9 employees efficiently working behind the counter. With everything going on, however, our young server Darrion was unflappable. He took our order, made sure our meal was cooked to our liking, fixed a mistake, and refilled drinks. He was polite, kind, and extremely responsive. He is an asset to the company and, particularly to this location.

I've eaten here many times. Food is consistent. Always good. Always friendly staff. This time there was only 1 Cook and 1 server. Needed help bad but server kept the good attitude. When I see something like this I always give a little extra. Everyone should. Lots of single moms struggling. Still, its a great place to eat.

We were driving back to San Antonio and stopped here to eat and noticed they were SLAMMED but decided to wait it out. We were greeted by Erin who was very nice. Our waitress was Char and she was just the nicest and attentive person! Even though it was crazy busy the entire staff seemed very calm and had amazing customer service!! Sica checked us out and was very sweet...yes, I made it a point to remember names! That's how great of an experience we had. Thank you staff for a yummy breakfast and exceptional customer service! We will make it a point to stop here next time we travel.

I just love the real food here, no matter the diner location. Chose this location randomly for Saturday morning/ afternoon eating (11 am)..the place was packed and had to wait for a table but was seated within 20 minutes of waiting. Fast service, always good food.

Can't go wrong with their breakfast. The price is right and the staff is usually pretty good at attending to their guests. Plus the food tastes pretty good. I usually go for traditional breakfast, but you can get steaks and other food items here as well. Delicious and I recommend it if you're looking for freshly cooked food at a reasonable price.

Been going to this Waffle House in Alvarado everyday for the last two months. Food is good and waitress Carley has went out of her way to insure my experience was good. On the bad side the air conditioner has been out for the last two days. Management is aware but has not acted on the problem as of yet.

This waffle house is great. Everyone is friendly and the coffee keeps coming hot and fresh. They have barriers up between booths and 6 feet distancing at the bar so I felt as safe as one can feel at this time. Not many customers so please tip well and let's help each other during this difficult time.

Best Waffle House ever. We're on the Keto diet and it's always interesting trying to order at restaurants. Our waitress was great. I knew I wanted cheese eggs and bacon and add another egg and more bacon and make it a double because my husband had the same with sausage. It was funny because the manager came over with the ticket in hand to make sure that our order was correct. Our waitress was on point and the order was perfect. The food was delicious. Their bacon is perfect. Thin, crispy and salty. We forgot we were on a diet.

Waffle House is an institution. If I still lived in America, you'd find my there more often. Pecan waffle, cheesy eggs and grits are what heaven must taste like.

Usually eat at a Waffle House once or twice a year. This place rocks been here 2x in 2 days. Food was spot on and service was best I’ve ever had at a Waffle House. EVER. The young lady Alex was great! Sweet fast and accurate on the order and knew the menu well! She was great and I’ll be back because of it!

Seeing as Waffle House gets such a bad rap, I felt compelled to write a review and let the world know that the Waffle House located in Alvarado, Tx is one of the best I've been to. It was clean and organized and efficient. I could hear the manager respectfully direct her workers to clean and not stand around. Employees seemed to comply without argument. They all provided service with a smile, and our server, Jacobi, was particularly polite and accommodating. He kept our drinks filled and checked on us consistently. The food was good, we received it nice and hot. I definitely know we will stop at this WF again! Yalll go visit them too!

Now this is me and my husband's favorite to go spot. We are regulars. My name is Sarah by the way. Waffle house really hits the spot. Everything is the best. The cooks are all fantastic. They've have employees that have been there for years.

Our waitress, Rain, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Another server, Gabriel, was super friendly as well. According to my son, "BEST WAFFLE HOUSE EVER!" (He loved it so much when he went with his Grandma, that he insisted we go there.) As fas as the Waffle Houses I've been to, I have to say this one was pretty great. The friendly staff, everything looked really clean, and their cute holiday decorations made the experience better than I expected.

Me and my grandson sat at the bar there. The staff were very friendly and my Grandson enjoyed watching the Cooks prepare his breakfast. The food was very hot and the bacon was exactly how I like it. Got our food quickly and it was hot and fresh. That sausage puck wasn't burnt like some of the waffle houses I frequent. I was very satisfied but I didn't see my waiter after he brought me my food. Twas a bummer because I sure needed another coffee refill! Still had a enjoyable late afternoon breakfast anyway.

Lia was great! She held conversation very well, cracking jokes and being very helpful in helping select items. On top of that, she was so bubbly and kind! 10/10 would come back and experience the hospitality again. PS: SHE INTRODUCED US TO THE SECRET MENU

My husband and I took our four grandchildren and our daughter on Good Friday to this wonderful establishment. People may look down on a waffle House but I'm going to tell you this is the best service I've had in a long time. There were three employees every single one of them were smiles happy just the most peaceful and caring clean wonderful food it was just the best experience we've ever had. And I feel so bad cuz I cannot remember the beautiful lady who was our waitress but she was so amazing. We had four little kids so we had seven people which meant we had to have two tables. She kept things flowing so wonderfully that everybody just walked out of there was smiles and so happy. I wish I could give her more than five stars. We've eaten here a few times and we've always had wonderful service please don't mistake that the food is always wonderful it's a wonderful environment but for whatever reason on this day you could just feel so much more love and just the environment I can't even put it into words how wonderful it was. As in all Waffle House's I've visited throughout the USA, the menu is very limited and consists mostly of breakfast items. The food was tasty and served by an overtly friendly staff! The entire staff, including the wait staff, cooks and greeters were friendly and helped make my stay pleasant. The food was served quickly after I ordered. The food is tasty, but leans towards the greasy side.

It's a waffle house, service was great, but the staff is very busy, they do what they can and smile and use hun, which is very cute and a given since we are in Texas, food all. over kitchen floor, but it's bc they are busy with orders, eggs bacon waffles its a quick simple breakfast with a smile from staff even though they are slammed.

I give 4 stars in comparison to other WHs. I enjoy WH. Recently, I've patronized a few less than clean or friendly locations. I've only ever walked out of one (Hammond, La.) THIS location is one of the better facilities. The people were friendly and upbeat, the food was fast and hot, the server was attentive and the place was pretty clean. I am in the foodservice industry so my critiques are based on my extensive knowledge but can be double edged. I report what I see and experience; good and bad.

Waffle Houses aren't consistent. You can have lousy experiences and good ones. I went here a couple of times during a two week stay, and this is a good one. One was during a peak breakfast time, and it was interesting to watch as everyone helped everyone else... nice teamwork. Good food, served fast and reasonably priced. Works for me.

Waffle House is what Waffle House is. Washing of dishes up front. Banging of plates and pans. But the coffee and food are consistently good. If you like short-order food and 24 / 365 availability, and you don't mind the noise, or it appearing not to be scrupulously clean, Waffle House is the place for you.

It was crowded at first. But dwindled. The service was very good. Steak and eggs 24/7 What more can I say.? The prices are hard to beat.

We sat waiting to order for a long time. There was another family there that arrived at the same time we did, that left. The server place our utensils on the table, and they was not wrapped up. By the time our food was delivered it was cold and awful

The food was great! The service was awful! The server had a attitude. Big one. We drive 2 and 1/2 hrs. To come here. The Waffle House Corp. Is always a good one. The dining area was freezing. Our waitress was very friendly and the eggs, bacon, and hash browns were very good. She did not bring our waffles out with the other food. We thought maybe they were keeping them warm. We had to ask and when she brought them out and I put my butter on them it did no melt. It was ice cold. We were pushed for time so I did not send it back. I have eaten at probably 40 different Waffle Houses across the south and sorry to say this one is on the bottom.

We love going to eat here but tonight after we had ordered, our food the young lady who waited on us had got some food (bacon a big piece) and started eating in front of me and my husband while the cook was cooking the food and the manager and another employee was there talking and on the phone, after she put the food in her mouth she then waited on a customer before bringing our food to us I asked her politely to wash her hands and use hand sanitizer. She was a good waitress but I don't think my husband and I want to come back.😷

The only reason i give it 2 stars is because the lady that works ther was very helpful and friendly. The waffles were good but only about half the thickness of ones from other Waffle Houses. All the other waitresses/ cooks are very nice...Helen is very unwelcoming.. rude....needs someone to teach her how to be nice..because bitter is bad for buisness

All the tables and counters were filthy and no one cleaned them until we got a rag to do it ourselves. The employees were extremely loud and the room wasn't quiet until they stepped outside. They forgot my water twice and once I was done with my food I found some black stuff in the bottom of my coffee cup that wasn't coffee grounds it looked like a piece of an onion. How ever the cook did a good job with the food. We didn't check the ice machine and we suspect that there is slime in it, because the water that I did get was a brownish in color.

Just sat in a booth for roughly 15 minutes while 2 employees cussed at each other in the back(loud enough to hear from the kitchen area) and the kid at the front played on his phone. Not a word was said when I walked in or as I sat in the booth. What a joke.

Years ago this was a great, fast place to get food. So my Son decided to treat me to brunch here this year. Not his fault, but it was a HUGE mistake. Had to wait 40 minutes before the 1 working waiter took our order (after taking 4 other orders before us, from those that arrived after us). When my Son politely spoke to the on duty person in charge, she snapped rudely at him. That's when we should've left, but I really wanted that waffle. Our meals were not cooked properly, who wants to eat raw runny eggs? My husband had to ask for my toast twice. The day turned into a 2 hour nightmare. Thanks for ruining my Mother's Day brunch for us. We will NEVER go back to this location again.

This place needs to close. Came in at 5.45 am 2 customers inside, 5 employees, No Greeting, sat waited 5 minutes while 3 waitresses ran there mouths, no one offered me coffee after 5 minutes I walked out. No one tried to stop me or ask me anything. When I left they where still running there mouths at the counter. The workforce has deteriorated so bad that all your stores will be closed soon. Either become a drive through only or die. Will never return to my beloved WH.

They don't greet you when you come in. 0 crowd control- people walk in the door and jump the line for a seat ahead of people who have been waiting for 20 minutes. I've visited 3 times now, and only ate on 1 of the 3 visits. Visit 1 consisted of only about half of the lobby being full, but the remaining seats were piled with dishes. We waited for about 10 minutes, and left after not being greeted and no one cleaning the tables. Visit 2 we actually got a seat and ordered. We sat for about 10 minutes before someone realized we were there. My daughter's food came out in about 15 minutes. Mine took about 30, so she was done eating before I even started. Visit 3 was today- we waited for 20 minutes (nope! Not greeted this time either!) until someone decided to line jump right in front of the staff who said nothing. My wife convinced me not to take it up with the line jumpers, and we left vowing to never return.

Aweful. Was trying to order breakfast sandwich and waitress rolled her eyes. My friend was ready to leave with the rudeness. Did not make sandwich right so sent back and they pushed the food off my plate back on the grill. Which is a Health code violation. I asked for manager Deven came over and said if I had a problem with the violation that I could just leave. Dont recommend to anyone. Will be contacting corporate and the health dept.

Omg this location is absolutely the worst. I felt ignored by the employees and felt like it annoyed them to quit playing on their phones to take my order. My order was incorrect and when remade I found hair in it. I was told there was not a manager available. I hate driving to the next nearest location but I suppose I'll have to. The bathroom was very clean. Very disappointed.

Was never asked for a refill didn't get all of my meal. Parts of my food were cold. Coffee wasn't ready till.i was ready to leave some food was under cooked. Only offered one dollar off my meal when I told them I didn't get all of my meal.

This was one of the worst visit to this waffle house ever. Our food wasnt cooked right, food was taken to the wrong table, I still never got my waffle that I ordered.

When we arrived they cleared a table for us but we had to ask the woman to come back and clean it because there was still syrup all over it. They took our order quickly and brought out our drinks. 10 minutes later they brought out our eggs. 15 minutes after that they bring out a burnt waffle that doesn't even look appetizing to the kids, and they'll eat just about anything. At this point we're ready to leave but our server assures us that our food is about to come out so we wait...another 15 min and we still haven't received the rest of our food. We had had enough so we paid for the eggs and our drinks which was $14.51! On our way out the door our server brought us a waffle that he boxed up to go. In the parking lot I saw a homeless Veteran so I took the waffle over to him. He told me how he had gone into WH earlier that morning and bought a coffee. He was sitting in the parking lot waiting on a ride from a friend and they told him to leave because he "looked suspicious!" We will never eat at this waffle house again!

I wanted to like this place. My son was excited to take us but it was disappointing. The staff was cordial but not attentive. The food was like mac&cheese out of a box and lacked flavor to say the least. For being a waffle house its waffle was more of a dry crepe. Just not good.

There is a bug in our grits! Also my cheesy eggs had big pieces of egg shells! Like how hard is it to take the shells out. Then our hash brown were supposed to have extra stuff and my husband only had like 2 or 3 small pieces of ham! Couldn't finish our food after the bug that was found. I get it things happen, but quality control must not be a thing because I know the lid is supposed to be on the grits I know this is a bug because it has legs and when I squished it blood came out!

I pointed my order out to the waitress, cause my throat was to sore to talk due to recent surgery. My order was completely wrong, I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese hashbrown bowl; my favorite at any Waffle House. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot the cook with green and pink hair kept giving us nasty looks like she was annoyed she had to do her job. Didn’t get items, eggs were raw as pictured.
