We dined here for a birthday. The food and service were just excellent. Gabriel and Astel looked after us throughout the meal. It was friendly, casual and very relaxed. Making for a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. There are so many flavours and plenty of choice. Everything was homemade and beautifully presented. This is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Prices were very fair. The interior decoration is really well thought out, too. Lots of lovely little touches. Great restaurant. Thank you!

We visited this restaurant last night and had a fantastic experience. The staff were attentive and the food was excellent. My main course was a lamb dish and it was genuinely one of the finest that I have ever had.

First time trying this restaurant and it was so good. Really good food. Lots of vegetarian options. Didn't order a huge amount of dishes and I am pleased because it was so filling! Friendly nice atmosphere. Definitely going to recommend it and definitely going back.

Incredible dining experience. Staff were super attentive and Harsh (the owner) was always available for advice on the menu. Great chatting to him about his vision for the restaurant. Food wise: Highly recommend the venison, wild boar and beef brisket. The mutton rolls and squid starters were the best we’ve ever had!! 10/10! Prediction: Michelin rosette within 12 months!! Well done guys!

What a place- absolutely wonderful food, attentive service from the owner. Quite quiet for a Friday, but middle of school holidays in Amersham is quiet everywhere! Superb flavours and combinations, brilliant array of dishes- will be back to try the others!

Amazing dinner last night here. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was divine - Highest quality, delicious South Asian food. Beautiful flavours and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a warm and cosy feeling with low lighting and minimalist decorations. The coconut sorbet was a gorgeous way to finish off the meal. Best restaurant in amersham on the Hill!

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Being a Sri Lankan I’m always fascinated to taste the flavour of Sri Lankan Spices – this place was incredible. Menu was extensive and they brought novelty into typical Sri Lankan foods. 🤩 Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, and wonderful dessert. (The best Mango Ice Cream I’ve ever had 🥹). I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. Simply the best Sri Lankan dishes I’ve had in London. 🏆 The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. So much polite and welcoming staff.🥰 I feel proud of this place, as this restaurant belongs to one of my School mate and I definitely know that this place has lots more to offer! And a long journey to go.😍 Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in

First time here and the food and service was brilliant! Small menu but great choices to suit all palette’s. The Devilled Cauliflower Wings were so good! Will definitely be dining here again.

Lovely evening out with friends who suggested this restaurant. What a great choice. My roast chicken curry was outstanding, much better than any Indian curry I have ever had (and there have been many!) Excellent service as well, very attentive and quick.

Had an amazing anniversary meal there. The food was great. Only limited vegetarian options but what they did have was very tasty.

Wow, what a hidden gem in Amersham! It feels like you're right in central London. The ambience is lovely with soft lighting and background music. The staff are super attentive and polite. Harsh, the owner, was a joy to speak to—you can really tell he's put his heart and soul into the business! Every dish was spot on! I highly recommend the squid, mutton rolls, and cauliflower wings. For mains, the sea bass, chicken, and lamb were all 10/10. The Mango Sorbet is the perfect palette cleanser. And if you're looking for a nightcap, definitely ask for the Sri Lankan whisky! Best of luck with that AA Rosette—you totally deserve it!

Fantastic Authentic Meal We highly recommend you have a meal here. We had a beautiful meal tonight, it was difficult to choose what to eat as the choices were so different and interesting. The staff were lovely, totally professional and helpful. The food was delicious, perfectly authentic and presented immaculately from the china used to the garnishes.

I have not been to a Indian restaurant for a number of years, I'm so glad to discover this lovely little Indian restaurant tucked away on Amersham new high street. Top quality food and service. Highly highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious food! The beef is so good literally melts in your mouth. Service was great. It was a friend's birthday and they really went over and above to make it special for her! Highly recommend Colombo 7!

Consistency and quality. Every dish is just exceptional. My french mother is the absolute hardest to please when eating out, it was so good she was moved to go and tell the kitchen how excellent it was at the end. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

By far one of the best restaurants in Amersham (top and bottom). We have never had a bad meal in here. Always such an interesting, ever changing menu and far different from a large menu you’d find in any ‘chain’, mediocre restaurant. Perfect for sharing having shared everything we ordered. The staff are fantastic and friendly and any request never seems to be a problem. We have recommended this place to so many friends and they have never been disappointed… Amersham’s little gem!

Beautiful, authentic Sri Lankan food served in an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff who manage to get the level of attentiveness just right. Not to mention the delicious cocktails! (A must try: the heavenly cauliflower wings.)

Exceptional meal, exceptional service, exceptional experience. We are veggie and were initially slightly concerned that there was only one veggie main. However, there are MANY veggie options. We ordered several starters and sides, there wasn’t one dish I would not order again. Well done to Colombo 7!

We booked here last minute so weren't expecting much but what a gem! Beautiful dining room and ambience, lovely staff, and the food was fabulous. My husband had slow cooked beef which he was raving about, and the vegan options were also delicious and clearly marked on the menu. The crunchy cauliflower starter was so good!

I wasn't sure what to expect as I've never experienced Sri Lankan cuisine. I was completely blown away by the presentation, the layers and depth of flavours of every dish which I wasn't expecting. Sorry to say, I don't believe I'll be going back to an Indian restaurant for some time. Colombo 7 is definitely my first choice for eating out, lovely restaurant, equally lovely staff and an amazing chef.

Great evening with friends, just 3 of us but made VERY welcome with friendly and attentive staff. Good menu with plenty of options and some really interesting dishes on offer…very easy to make a good choice. Food was fantastic quality and came in good time…not too quick and not too slow. Lion beer was refreshing and in smaller glasses stopped it from being like a lads curry night. Chef came out to have a chat. Really good vibe! Will be back soon

Ate dinner with some friends at Colombo 7 and really enjoyed our meal together. Food is really tasty and just the right level of spice for all tastes. Starters of squid, samosas and beef all delicious and 2 mains with 3 sides more than enough for 4. Staff friendly and helpful and restaurant nice and busy on a Saturday night. Will be heading back to explore more of the menu.

Wow what an amazing restaurant, small and intimate, food is great, well cooked and presented beautifully, with amazing flavours. Loved that it was a small menu, we ordered 2 mains and 4 sides which was plenty for 4 of us. And what was a very pleasant surprise, no service charge! But we were happy to leave a tip for a great night.

It was a foul night weatherwise to go out tonight but I'm so glad we did, the food was amazing, not a massive menu but everything was gorgeous. We had two mains and the black pork belly as a starter between two of us and we could only just finish it. I was ment to leave this review last year, I had my birthday at Coloumbo 7, the staff here are some of the best around and the food is to die for. One of the best Sri Lankan spots I have ever tried.

Beautiful experience of Sri Lankan food. The service was friendly and attentive. Some tables are quite close to one another, but the atmosphere is warm. Note for quality wine lovers: Limited choice. The owner kindly agreed to corkage. Perfect night out.

Thought we try a new place and we were pleasantly surprised. Had the aubergine side which I highly recommend, although on the sweet side. Had the jaggery beef which had great flavours although slightly over cooked for my preference. We tried the coconut sorbet however it was too sweet for us. One recommendation to the restaurant is to improve the ventilation as we left with our clothes smelling like we were in the kitchen. Great food though.

Great food. But pricey. We had a take-away with a range of dishes. Food was well prepared, nice and spicy and some really interesting flavours. Just wish it wasn't quite so expensive - we'd be back sooner otherwise. Beef short rib was excellent - it was gone too soon. We might have been unlucky with a smaller portion maybe? Anyway, you'll enjoy it.

Really Disappointed This Time. We came in for a family dinner (table of six). We’ve eaten at Colombo 7 a few times before and always had great food and service, so we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to expectations at all. One of our meals was completely missed — not once, but twice — which meant a big delay while it was cooked… again. The rest of us were left sitting there, our food getting cold. This was despite the waiter double-checking the order at the start, which was frustrating. On top of that, the food itself just wasn’t up to the usual standard. We figured maybe it was just an off night. What really left a bad taste, though, was being told we’d get a round of drinks “on the house” as an apology, only to find they were actually charged on the bill. I didn’t notice until later (my fault for not checking closely), and a service charge was added automatically. I saw that part, but let it go to avoid making a fuss in front of the family. But realising we’d been charged for the “free” drinks really felt like a slap in the face. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt disappointed this time. Given how good past visits have been, I want to believe this was a one-off. Still, I don’t think we’ll be coming back — being misled like that leaves a bad impression.

Super disappointing birthday dinner. Family of 5. Servers took ages to come over after we sat down, and the service didn’t improve from there. We ordered some drinks and one of each starter on the menu, as the menu is very limited. Starters were really good (other than the chicken livers) but too small to share really, which is how we like eat, and they were gone in a few minutes. And then the wait began… Two waitresses for the number of people in this (small) restaurant appeared too few, as we had no drinks and no food for about 25 minutes. Eventually, I went to the bar to order drinks from a waitress behind the bar. They eventually came and the waitress dumped the bottle of wine on the table and left us to it… We had to flag down a waitress to order mains. The mains were disappointing - the prawn & chicken rice was dry and tacked flavour (my son was looking for sweet chilli sauce and soya sauce - wrong I know, but it needed something, I tasted it), the roast chicken curry was tasty but very basic (lacked depth of flavour) and the wild boar curry I had was much too salty (I add salt everything!) and the curry sauce tasted like the spices had not been cooked long enough. We have travelled to Sri Lanka, which is why we ate here, but this food tasted nothing like to food we had in Sri Lanka. Great service can make up for mediocre food. The trouble though is that poor service can ruin an evening, even if the food is reasonable, and that is the case here.
