Went for galentine with the bestie ! Coming from Arlington, Virginia what better way to celebrate Galentine with my best friend 💕 The atmosphere the waiting area was clean chic and welcoming. Food was 10 ⭐️ my steak was bussin ! Lol But this review is mainly for our server, Nicki !!! I can’t brag enough about her service. She was welcoming, beautiful, funny, and engaging in conversation. Explained everything without even having to ask! The world is a better place because of her ♥️☺️♥️ I shall return!

We had a fabulous time last weekend! Nicole, Ty, and Cheney provided outstanding service. They were knowledgeable about solving an issue with our wine club points, suggested fantastic menu items, and ensured a wonderful tasting experience. Everyone was so personable and made for a lovely afternoon! Al and Hunter were also great and very helpful!

This has fast become our favorite brunch spot in Annapolis! Fantastic service (Cory took great care of us), great food, and wonderful ambiance. Particularly recommended the gnocchi bolognese and the butternut squash gnocchi.

I celebrated my 50th birthday here, and everything was great from walking in, and being sat down. From the start Lauren was attentive, and gave suggestions on food and drinks. We never had to wait for anything, she made sure we were well taken care of. She was the sweetest waitress I have ever had. This is place is 10/10, I will be back!

The restaurant was very nice, everyone look happy. The service was great, they were attentive to your needs. The food was good, not great but i had a great time. I also enjoyed the wine tasting.....what an amazing experience.

Came for our wine pickup, stayed for lunch. The appetizer portions are enough for 4 people! Brussel sprouts, and pot stickers were great! The Soy ginger garlic salmon was also perfect. Our server seemed preoccupied and not very attentive, but maybe he was busy with other tables. That won't keep us from going back.

Got the pb&j old fashioned. My husband got the coopers margarita. Food was amazing, service was great. I think his name was Cody it started with a C slim gentleman with glasses. I LOVED IT.

My experience at Cooper Hawk was absolutely phenomenal! My guest and I arrived late due to unexpected delays, but we were treated with care and excellent customer service. We were seated within just 15-20 minutes of our arrival. Our waiter, Jose, was fantastic, especially considering it was his first night. Despite the busyness of the evening, he consistently checked on our table, addressed every question, and met all our service needs. The manager, Al, was also incredible—every time I’ve visited, his service has been unforgettable and is a big reason why I love this location. This Cooper Hawk location is great place for birthday celebrations, a night out with friends, or gatherings with coworkers. Thank you for making this birthday outing so memorable. I truly appreciate the outstanding service!

*** UPDATE- Spoke to the GM ,Al and advised of all the issues below. He apologized and really took the time to listen to my concerns. He mailed me several complimentary dinner, with a glass of wine card(s). Some of my previous party returned tonight and our server Mercy definitely made up for the poor customer service on Father's Day. Mercy was pleasant, helpful and very personable. When we asked about a wine we saw someone else drinking, she identified the wine and asked if we wanted to taste it. She also made great suggestions for dinner. Everything was yummy including our chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. Mercy and this evenings food turned the negative experience noted below into a positive one. We will share with the remainder of our previous parry that did not come tonight and maybe they will join us the next time. Thank you Al. I will be calling you to advise of my updated review in case you miss this😁 ***Previous review My father-in-law has always spoken highly of Cooper's Hawk and this is where he wanted to go for Father's Day. This was the first time visiting for myself, husband and son. Though I enjoyed the napa chicken, it was very good, with ALL of the other issues, I would not return or recommend to others. We eat out quite a bit and I review where we eat, good or bad. ISSUES:The server was flippant, surly and condescending. She spoke to my 80 yr old father-in-law like he was a child( he is of sound mind and body,) it was rude. My sister in-law, tried to save a mixed alcoholic beverage that WE DID NOT ORDER, from being wasted but she wanted to know what was in it, the server replied dryly, 'Alcohol'. Ummm duh, we knew that, so needless to say that drink wasn't saved It took forever to get our food. Soup for my 10 yr old niece was the last to come out while everyone else was already eating. Why would soup take so long? By the time it came she had filled up on the table bread. My father in-laws food was burnt, it was offered to have it made new or to order something else. My father in-law declined, as it took so long to get the food, by the time it would come out, we would all be done eating. Food came out in all different timeframes for our party of 9. So for a Father's Day celebration, he didn't even get to eat??!!! There were other issues but this review has already gotten really long. So my family and I didn't want to make a big deal while we were there, so I called to share our experience, as soon as I got home (45 min drive for us) with a manager, the call went to voicemail. After 3 days, with no reply, I called and left another voicemail. After another 2 days, I called the reservation ext. and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to him he apologized for our experience. I advised this should be shared with the server for learning as she is in the service business. The manager took my information and advised he would send me two complimentary entree with a glass of wine cards. This for a party of 9 , where out of the 9 of us , 5 had issues with the food and/or service. This ruined our Father's Day celebration. Really? Today is July 3 and those cards were never received. There are many other restaurants that are closer to home, where not only is the food good but the service is excellent and the management cares about your experience and comes around to check on all of the diners. There was way too much money spent here for the nonsense of presenting as an upscale establishment. Is it only on certain days??? Thumbs down. **My husband ordered the salted caramel creme brulee to go, see picture. Not only was the presentation horrible it tasted nothing like creme brulee we've had before, it's a favorite, it ended up in the trash🫩.

Love this place! The food is always good here and the people are always so nice and patient. The wine tasting is such a fun and great experience before going to enjoy dinner. It’s really crowded on weekends so I recommend coming on weekdays.

Our server Tyler was absolutely amazing. Very attentive, very knowledgeable about the wines, the food, etc. Ask for him if you visit here you will not be disappointed! The pretzel bread was good, the appetizer of shrimp wrapped in bacon was good. I had the parm crusted steak and scallops. Thar dish was amazing. Wow. The wines were okay but the passion fruit one is too die for to me!

We are wine club members and love our visits and happy hours at Cooper's Hawk! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is upscale but approachable and comfortable, and the service is always top tier. I highly recommend the raspberry or almond sparkling, along with Unoaked. You can't go wrong, so many great options!

First time coming to Coopers Hawk on Thanksgiving Day as my husband made sure there was a place open where this plant eating gal could enjoy a meal. And he could get a traditional Thanksgiving meal! Everything that we ate was so tasty and delicious. The temperature of each of our meals was perfect. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was a tiny bit cooler then I would’ve like. Will definitely be coming back!

Food is always good. However, the service today was really great. We had an attentive server, Alyssa. She helped us make food selections and wine suggestions. I had the not so typical baked shrimp scampi, and it was good. My husband enjoyed the fish and chips, and my daughter had a burger with a gluten-free bun, which is always nice due to her allergy.

Cooper’s Hawk has truly become our go-to spot for just about everything — from girls’ nights and birthdays to special family dinners. Every visit feels like a little celebration, and we absolutely love it! The atmosphere is the perfect blend of fun, classy, and cute — it’s inviting without being too loud, elegant without being stuffy. Whether we’re laughing over wine flights with my girls or sharing a delicious meal with family, we always feel so welcomed and cared for by the staff. The food is consistently amazing, the drinks are delicious (we’re obsessed with the wine!), and the overall vibe just puts us in the best mood. It’s a place where memories are made. Can’t wait for our next visit! 💕- Isela

Absolutely delicious! We came in from out of town for the shopping and popped in. Everything was SO good! Definitely glad we made the visit. Our server, Rorie, was fantastic and gave us lots of great recommendations. The filet was a great choice. We will definitely make a point to come back again.

We had a really memorable dinner here. I have a lot of dietary restrictions, and our server Liam double checked with the chef for all of my food. The kitchen did a great job accomodating us! On top of that, it turns out Liam possesses a great comedic wit and an excellent singing voice. Cooper's Hawk is lucky to have such a stellar artiste on their team!

We brought my 85 yr old mother for a CH experience. Maddie in the restaurant and Taylor at the winery tastings were absolutely amazing hostesses for our experience. They made us feel extraordinarily welcome for our time at CH, starting with our tastings and trip to wine country through the tasty wines with Taylor to our cuisine expertise with Maddie. Our food was fantastic, thanks to Maddie's recommendations, amazing personality, and hospitality! And to top it off, AL the restaurant manager for the shift stopped by to have great discussion with us about our experience. He was extremely caring and interested in hearing about whether our experience was at optimal levels of expectations! I love CH because of great staff like Taylor, Maddie, and AL! Mom with over 8 decades of quality approves of CH! Lateefah

My family and I absolutely love Cooper’s Hawk! We went tonight to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and everything exceeded our expectations — the service, food, and ambiance were all outstanding. Our server, Rachel, was an absolute delight. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the best dining experience, and we truly appreciated her attentiveness. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, and we were seated in a quiet, comfortable area that made conversation easy and enjoyable. After dinner, we headed downstairs for our monthly wine tasting as Wine Club members, and Kayla made the experience phenomenal. She was personable, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed — which stood out compared to past monthly visits. Her warmth and energy really enhanced the night. We had such a wonderful time celebrating, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Rachel and Kayla, for making this evening so special!

Lauren, our server, was fantastic. She was super attentive to all needs and made sure we got everting in timely manner. All food was fantastic. My friends ordered the short rib special and I ordered the salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly. We love it at Coopers Hawk and will definitely visit again!

I work out at the gym next door and today we had to evacuate due to fire alarms. The manager Matt let us in the restaurant so we could stay warm instead of staying outside until we were allowed back in. I have always wanted to try it but put it off, tonight I brought my family in for dinner and our server Caroline was amazing! The food was delicious, highly recommend the crusted medallion! We will definitely be coming back and don’t know why we put it off for so long, didn’t know there was a wine bar downstairs until we left. Thanks for keeping us warm!

I've been going with my girlfriend as a plus one for wine tasting at Cooper's Hawk in Annapolis for almost 2 years now, and I've enjoyed the experience tremendously. Until last night, no one has ever asked me about joining the wine club membership until our server Carli. She was so pleasant and had great customer service! She was patient with me and answered all of my questions regarding the membership, which had me sold! I signed up and went home with 2 of my favorite bottles! Carli was amazing, please make sure that she is carbon copied at your location when it comes to outstanding customer service, I will be looking for her next month when I return for my first wine tasting as a wine club member!!

We've been wine club members for about a year now and this is our first time at the Annapolis location. While quaint, it's very lively and homey. Our server Nia has such an infectious personality that's accompanied by a very professional demeanor. The food was delectable and received promptly. We were handled with care, even as her section became busy. We will definitely be coming back for another great date.

My wife and I recently visited Cooper’s Hawk, and we were completely impressed from start to finish. The service was top-notch — every staff member was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. The wine selection is absolutely outstanding, with so many great choices that perfectly complemented our meal. The food itself was nothing short of amazing — every bite was full of flavor and the presentation was beautiful. Honestly, it was a chef’s kiss experience all around. Highly recommend Cooper’s Hawk for anyone looking for great food, amazing wine, and exceptional service!

Overall, I had a good experience at this location. Food wise …everything tasted fresh and came out quickly. Our server was attentive as well. I will say the wait for a tasting was a little longer than expected, but Nedra at the tasting bar was absolutely amazing! She was attentive without hovering, explained the wines clearly, and made the experience feel personal. I wasn’t planning on it, but she genuinely convinced me to restart my membership — that’s how great she was. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely come again (maybe not on a Saturday).

My Sister and I had the pleasure of dining at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Annapolis on February 11th and 12th. The food, wine and cocktails were pure comfort. Our server Tamara made our dining experience so relaxing and enjoyable that we decided to return the next night. Daishaun M was our server and he did not disappoint. Once again we were indulged with a delicious meal, and excellent service. Tamara even stopped by our table and treated us with another smile and a sweet treat. Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant is a treasure.

We have been to Coopers Hawk a dozen times, and every time we go, we ask for Hannah. Hannah is, without question, the best server I have ever had, and that is not an exaggeration. From the moment she greeted us, she was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. You never have to ask her for anything because she is already two steps ahead. Every refill, every check-in, every detail, handled flawlessly. Her timing is perfect, her energy is welcoming, and her attention to detail is unmatched. She makes you feel taken care of without ever being intrusive, which is such a rare balance to find. She is fast, efficient, friendly, and truly exceptional at what she does. Because of Hannah, our entire experience was elevated. She didn’t just provide service, she created an experience. If every server were like Hannah, dining out would be perfect every time. She deserves ALL the praise, recognition, and raises. Absolute superstar! If you are looking for a nice place to eat with excellent food and phenomenal service, Cooper’s is the place to go! This is our favorite restaurant not only for the excellent wine selection, but also the food options. We have a membership and make it our point to visit monthly to enjoy a great time, great atmosphere, and top of the line service.

Delicious food! My daughter and I took a break from shopping and errands to try out this restaurant. Because there was a wait for tables, we decided to go to the high top seats in the bar area, first come, first serve. We ordered meatballs buriotta - first time I tried this cheesy dish; Lobster, crab and shrimp bisque - creamy and full of seafood chunks; and the warm dip with tiny toast. Quick and friendly service. My daughter tried the wines and loved the merlot. She wanted to get a gift of wine and bourbon for her cousin and his fiancé. Cooper's Hawk is known for its wine. Our waiter let us know that there is a retail section on the first floor (we entered on the second floor), brought 2 wines to taste to help with her selection, and recommended a bourbon brand. The couple loved both drinks and celebrated the New Year with them! The space has a Modern style with clean lines, and a relaxed, yet sophisticated atmosphere. We plan to return to try more of the menu.

Everyone at the host stand was very accommodating and pleasant. Wine tasting with Nicole was wonderful. Our server Anna M was so kind, food and drinks were delicious. Liam sang happy birthday to me in such a way I have never experienced before, positively delightful. The manager India personally stopped by our table to make sure everything was to satisfaction. Overall great an experience first experience at Coopers Hawk.

Coopers Hawk is a very nice restaurant. The atmosphere is very welcoming, professional and friendly. I had a party of 8 people tonight for my mom’s 60th birthday and our waitress, Chaney… she was amazing. outstanding even. she came around multiple times and refilled our waters when needed, was there to pick up every empty plate noticed, our wait time for our food right on time and we enjoyed our drinks. We had multiple glasses. Everything about her was great. Super friendly waitress

Great place for brunch! The food was delicious. Thank you to the manager on shift, Indya, for checking on us and ensuring our needs were well taken care of; she truly provided a 5 star experience/service. Furthermore, the staff and ambiance was overall exceptional. In particular, our server Anna was very attentive - I highly recommend requesting her if available. I will definitely come back with more of my friends and family.

My Wife and I enjoyed immensely! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, one of the most delicious meals I've ever had! The Red Flight allowed us to enjoy a total of 8 different wines! We joined the Wine Club!

This was my second time visiting Cooper’s Hawk. We celebrated a birthday here back in February, and unfortunately it was a miss for our entire party of 10. I understand restaurants can have off days with both the kitchen and staff, so I decided to give them another try. This visit was a party of two — our waiter was attentive and the food was decent. I enjoyed the calamari and Brussels sprouts (not pictured), which I’ve ordered on both visits. The entrées were okay; the fries definitely seemed like they had been sitting for a while. My bestie enjoyed her salmon, though. The chocolate cake and lemon drop were the stars of the night for me! I’d go back just for the calamari, cake, and drinks haha. The wine tasting area downstairs was pretty packed. I’m not a wine drinker, so I didn’t partake. Overall, I’m glad I gave them another try.

Had a delicious dinner at Coopers Hawk recently. We started with the seasonal appetizer of short rib arancini, which we found disappointing. They were mushy and not particularly flavorful.. 3 pieces for $17 The Jambalaya WAS very flavorful, albeit served with an over abundance of rice occupying the bowl. Definitely would recommend-order. Ordered the chicken with corn & peas risotto, received the vegetarian version. Ate a bite r two before realizing there was no chicken or peas in the dish! Flagged down waitress, explained issue, she went to kitchen to get missing ingredients, which were fine. But did not expect it to take as long as it did. Told dining companion to eat while the jambalaya was hot. That dish was empty before I received my chicken and peas. The waitress & manager were very apologetic and the manager was on it with staff. So the meal ended well. Overall, the risotto flavors were delicious - bright and distinctive. I’d order this again. The kitchen and wait staff just need to pay more attention.

Alexis was awesome 👌 👏 Although they didn't have Peach Schnapps, she suggested a substitution that worked out great for my cocktail (Hennessey, Peach Schnapps and ginger ale). My medallion was medium well when I requested well. The Atmosphere was very accommodating and relaxed. The winery was really good. Over all first time impressions was excellent. Near time I'm in Annapolis I will be returning with family and friends.

Had a nice evening out at Cooper's Hawk in Annapolis. Enjoy the overall style, ambiance and feel of this winery/ restaurant. The food was pretty good and so was the service. I really liked the Chicken Martini but the wine sauce was a little too sweet for me. The Thai chili wraps were just okay (needed more Thai chili flavoring). You can never go wrong with a Lemon Drop. I recommend you get the Betty's (shredded potato gratin dish) potatoes over the Mary's ( mashed potatoes). But friends really enjoyed their Mary's potatoes. The Drunken shrimp were really just a little tipsy but they were good.

I am writing to commend the excellent dining experience I had at your Cooper's Hawk location during lunch on December 13th. The meal was wonderful, and the Southwest Egg Rolls were particularly delicious. Most notably, our server, Hanna, was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable about the wine selection and provided attentive, professional service throughout our meal. I highly recommend dining at Cooper's Hawk, and Hanna’s service significantly contributed to a great experience. Sincerely, LaWanda Woods

We had high hope based on the great reviews. Turned out not so much. We chose to sit outside since there was lots of people waiting for indoor seating. Our server was Lauren D. She was friendly but when she talks we could barely hear since we were sitting outside and seems louder for her low voice. Also I’m not sure what was happening but the complimentary bread should’ve brought to the table along with the glass of water and before any foods or appetizers arrived but in our experience we had to ask 2 times and she brought it out after our 2 appetizers were already in the table. For the appetizers we didn’t really like any of it, especially when Lauren said this place they made foods from scratch. The sweet chili calamari and Thai lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps they used sliced chicken instead ground chicken (pic with blue circle) with a small lettuce they gave us we can’t barely make it like a wrap especially with lots of toppings that came with the dish. So it’s more like eating salads instead lettuce wraps. My husband got jambalaya. It was actually his first reason to chose to eat at this place because he saw their menu had jambalaya but he said it wasn’t the best, it was so so that was his response when I asked how was it. The tortilla soup was ok. To be honest the most thing that I really like from all the foods we ordered was actually the complimentary of the pretzel roll.

I've been to Cooper's Hawk before and I had such a great experience that I thought it would be a nice place to take my Mom for her birthday and they did not meet my expectations! I made a reservation for 5pm and I requested a booth in the special requests section when I booked the reservation. I arrived on time but there were no booths available which means the hostess station isn't paying attention to reservation requests until the party arrives. I dine out frequently and this was a first having to wait for a booth that was requested. We were seated a bit after 530pm and due to the delay we missed the 3pm-530pm specials! We placed our orders for appetizers and the bisque was brought to the table but the egg rolls weren't. We asked the waitress about the egg rolls and she said they were taken to another table but she'd get them out as quickly as possible. My mom ordered a steak well done and it was the blackest steak I've ever seen! The manager came over to check on my mom since the waitress could see her displeasure with the steak but my mom didn't want to create a fuss so she kept the burnt steak. The manager comped her dessert but that's normal for birthdays at most places. Nothing was done special for her birthday dessert. Normally there are at least candles on the dessert but they did nothing! I won't return for a special occasion again.

Had a reservation for 5 guests at 7pm. At 7:45 my party still hadnt been called to be seated so I inquired at the front desk. As the host began searching my name, it never appeared meaning, my party was never checked in properly. He didnt acknowledge that but only said as soon as one of the bigger tables was available we would be seated. At 8:10pm we were brought to our table. 3/5 guests ordered wine flights but 2/3 received them 10 mins later than the first as the restaurant did not have any more glasses available. My simple Sangria came 20 mins after placing the order and last out of my other 4 friends. For the most part our food was excellent, I had the chicken potstickers and gnocchi carbonara. They could work on food presentation, my gnocchi and friends risotto just looked thrown on the plate. A little greenery goes a long way. My other friend’s filet was cooked horribly, well done on the outside portion and rare in the middle. While another friends filet was cooked perfectly medium. One of the servers who brought our food to the table spilled sauce on my friends coat and didnt acknowledge it. A guest from another table approached my friend to tell her what she saw and that the server visibly recognized what he did but didnt say anything in hopes we all didnt see. The saving grace of our night was the ambiance, our drinks when they finally came, and our wonderful server Tasha. Even while busy she made sure to be attentive and provided great recommendations. I think there should have been atleast a visit from the manager apologizing for our overall experience. ************* UPDATE Management promptly reached out and were very apologetic about the experience. I truly appreciated the accountability. I have updated the review to 3 stars and will revise again accordingly after I revisit the restaurant.

We’ve always had such a great experience here and have been going for years and are wine club members. However, our last visit to celebrate my dad’s birthday was a bit of a disaster. It took almost 30 minutes for our wine to be brought to our table after ordering it. The waitress just opened the bottles and sat them on the table and never refilled our glasses. Half our salads were missing and took 20 minutes to come out after the rest had been served. My son’s burger came with everything on it when he clearly asked for it plain. We were willing to let these things go, but the final straw was when my sister in law (who is pregnant) cut into her fish and it was completely raw - not just rare but raw!! The manager came over and we explained what had been going on. She was apologetic and comped our salads and credited us back our wine club bottles. She obviously took off the raw fish, but we feel they should have also comped the new meal she had to order - at this point my toddler nephew was ready to go so she had to leave and took her food with her. The seafood risotto I usually order came with tiny scallops and small shrimp - this was surprising for the almost $40 cost. We were disappointed as this has not been our typical experience here and we hope it was just an off night.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience – 4:30 PM Reservation I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent visit to your restaurant. I have dined with you many times and have always considered this one of my favorite places because of the excellent guest service. Unfortunately, this visit was completely out of the norm and unacceptable. We had a 4:30 PM reservation and were not seated until 4:40 PM. Upon entering, there was a strong smell resembling burnt tires, but we chose to overlook it because of our past positive experiences. After being seated, we requested two kids’ menus, which took over 20 minutes to arrive. Our server explained she had multiple tables and that it was very busy. We were understanding and patient. However, the service continued to decline: • We waited over an hour just to receive water, and only after requesting to speak with a manager. • The manager told us water was “by request,” which was not accurate — we had requested it, and on every prior visit water was offered without asking. • We had already placed our food order and waited nearly an hour and a half with no food, yet the manager stated the restaurant “wasn’t that busy.” Eventually another server, Gordon, took over our table and provided excellent service, but by that time we had already been waiting an excessive amount of time and were extremely hungry. Our food did not arrive until 7:10 PM — nearly three hours after our reservation time. When the food finally came: • The shrimp scampi was cold • The short ribs were cold The manager even acknowledged the plates were cold and offered to remake them, but after waiting that long, we declined because we could not endure another extended wait. We sent the food back and left hungry. To make matters worse: • We were charged for three kids’ meals when we only ordered two • When we asked to speak to a manager again, we were given a different manager who had no knowledge of the situation • The original manager was no longer available • We were told items had been removed from the bill as if it were a favor, even though those meals were returned due to being inedible There was no genuine apology, no accountability, and no effort to make the situation right. The dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were extremely disappointing — especially for a restaurant that prides itself on hospitality. What makes this even more frustrating is that we have been loyal guests and have spent a significant amount of money at your establishment — including additional purchases downstairs after this experience. Waiting nearly three hours for a meal, receiving cold food, being overcharged, leaving hungry, and still having to pay full price is completely unacceptable. This experience does not reflect the level of service your brand is known for, and it has seriously impacted our desire to return. I would appreciate being contacted regarding this matter and a resolution that reflects the severity of this experience.

We are long time Wine Club Members but today (Valentine’s Day) was a bust! My Husband made the reservation more than a month ago and we knew it would be crowded but when we showed up, they only had space for us on the covered (horrible looking) outside patio and Al the General Manager could have cared less. We declined and that left us with no restaurant on Valentine’s Day so, my Husband called two other Restaurants in Virginia and they were also booked but said we could come but there might be a little wait. Since we were already in Annapolis, he called Stoney River and they were booked but said come on over. We arrived, there was no wait and the Tito’s Jalapeño and Rosemary Martini was absolutely excellent as well as our appetizers and entree. Most of the time we go to Cooper’s Hawk because we are Wine Club Members. We had not been to Stoney River in a few years but it is now our preference. The ambience and food at Stoney River was exactly what we needed for a special occasion—we were only going to Cooper’s Hawk because of the wine, their food is not much better than bar food but this all worked out for us thanks to Stoney River. Here are some pictures of the delicious food at Stoney River—you decide.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium, but it came out well done. I sent it back, and it returned overcooked again. After a third attempt, it was still well done. At that point, it was clear the kitchen simply could not get it right, which is frustrating for any restaurant, let alone one that presents itself as upscale. What made the situation worse was the lack of concern from our waiter. There was no real urgency or genuine effort to make things right, which only added to the disappointment. The manager did ultimately comp the bill, and I appreciate that gesture. Unfortunately, by then the experience had already overshadowed our date night. Between the repeated mistakes and the indifferent service, the evening fell well short of expectations.

Formal Complaint – Birthday Reservation on February 21 at 4:30 PM Dear Management Team at Cooper’s Hawk – Annapolis, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding my birthday reservation at Cooper’s Hawk in Annapolis, MD on Saturday, February 21 at 4:30 PM. Although our reservation was scheduled for 4:30 PM, we were not seated until approximately 4:45 PM. Unfortunately, the service significantly declined from there. No one approached our table until 5:40 PM — nearly an hour after we were seated. During that time, we were not offered water, bread, or even a simple greeting or introduction from our assigned server. When the waitress finally came to the table at 5:40 PM, she immediately asked for our drink order without acknowledging the extended delay or offering water or bread. She then left and did not return to take our food order until approximately 6:15 PM. During this period, we had to ask other staff members for assistance just to receive water and bread. When she eventually returned with drinks, one member of our party asked for a straw. Her response was, “I’m so busy. I’m working a lot of tables and I’m downstairs helping. You have to give me a second.” This response was both unprofessional and inappropriate. Additionally, I was confused as to why basic items such as straws were not readily accessible. By this point, we still had not received any appetizers or entrées. We ultimately requested to speak with a manager. A gentleman with a heavier build came to our table (I regret that I do not recall his name). We explained the situation and how long we had been waiting. He stated he did not understand why the waitress was behaving that way, especially since it was not overly busy. He repeatedly mentioned that it was Restaurant Week as the reason for the kitchen delays. While I understand Restaurant Week can increase traffic, we had a 4:30 PM reservation. If the restaurant anticipated higher volume, proper staffing and preparation should have been in place. That explanation did not justify the lack of service or professionalism we experienced. Our food finally began arriving around 7:10 PM — nearly three hours after our reservation time. My plate was hot, but the food itself was cold. The mashed potatoes were hardened, and the gravy on my ribs appeared dried out, as though the dish had been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period. I was extremely frustrated and sent my meal back. Another guest in my party also returned their meal due to it being cold. The manager offered to personally remake my dish; however, by that point, I had completely lost my appetite and simply requested bread. On my birthday, at my favorite restaurant, I ended up eating only bread, eggrolls, and wine — with no entrée — despite our bill exceeding $300.00. This experience was unacceptable and did not meet the standard I have come to expect from Cooper’s Hawk. A birthday celebration should never result in frustration, embarrassment, and disappointment. I do want to acknowledge that the manager eventually reassigned our table to Gordon. Gordon was professional, attentive, and had a great attitude. He did his best to improve the situation and ensure we had what we needed. I sincerely appreciate his effort and customer service under the circumstances. However, this does not erase the overall experience. I would like a clear explanation of what went wrong that evening and how this situation will be addressed. Additionally, I would appreciate being contacted directly with a resolution. As a loyal customer, I would like reassurance that steps will be taken to prevent this from happening again. I look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, Nikita Spencer
