Went in for my dad's birthday dinner at this place and it was amazing !! First off we had the lovely Claire she was dynamite and easy on the eyes too, nevertheless the food was good I had the rainbow trout recommended by our lovely waitress Claire and Mac and cheese with spinach. The cornbread was moist and soft and had a ton of flavor. My family sure did enjoy our time at Glenwoods and since it was my first time I'm def going back. A nice touch to the night was the live music which made the meal that much more enjoyable. Soft jazz music plays in the background while you sip your drink and enjoy life and the night. I couldn't ask for a better ending to my dad's birthday celebrate. Please go and check them out !!
Came here with a friend that I haven't seen in about 15 years. He recommended it. Found parking right away. We were seated quickly. Our waiter was awesome. He gave us some good recommendations. He was always checking on us and filling our drinks. We both order the clam chowder. Then we got a chicken and spaghetti in a different sauce than was offered, again, recommended by the waiter. I order the prime rib. Both dishes were very good. Everything was better than expected. The restaurant was nicely designed. Great for a date. Food was good. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend this place
From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. We walked in on a Sunday during brunch hours and were seated immediately just the two of us. The service was outstanding. As soon as we sat down, our server came right over. Everything, from the drinks and appetizers to the main courses was served quickly and efficiently. We had the chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, the chicken pot pie, and meatballs as appetizers—all incredibly flavorful and delicious. The drinks were a solid 10/10. To top it off, there was live piano music, which added a lovely touch to the atmosphere. Huge shoutout to our amazing server, Abby C
Glenwoods is ran so efficiently. The service is second to no one. Never an empty glass, dirty plate, looking for someone if anything is needed. Perfect. And our waitress Trish was delightful. Perfect dinner for any night of the week. Very reasonable prices.
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. At the time of our arrival there was no wait time for a table. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. Steven R. was our waiter and he did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone to celebrate any occasion :)
My husband and I have come to this location multiple times. Service is always excellent and the atmosphere is so warm and cozy. They have live entertainment playing not but overbearing with noise, its blends in very nicely with the atmosphere and you can still have conversations with your guests. Our food was so delicious as always. The margaritas are lovely!
Been here several times and they never disappointed. Used to be called Stanford grill. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Salads, steaks, desserts, that rattlesnake pasta. Yum!
Having been to Glenwood’s a few times in the last year or so, I thought it was time to write a review. We were glad we made a reservation as the restaurant was full at dinner time. Despite the crowd, we enjoyed pleasant conversation and felt well taken care of – the service was prompt and helpful. The portions are quite substantial, so you will not go away hungry. We each enjoyed a cocktail which was potent yet refreshing. My dining companion and I shared the cornbread and Brussels sprouts appetizers – probably our least favorite items as the usually stellar cornbread was dry and somewhat overdone; the Brussels while flavorful were also a tad well done for our liking. For entrees, I had the tenderloin filet, and my dining partner enjoyed the pork shank which was one of several daily specials. Both were cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. The generous sides of mashed potatoes and spinach were a welcome accompaniment. For dessert we shared the Key lime pie and peanut butter cookie cheesecake – both were delicious and there was plenty to take home for a late-night snack. Glenwood’s knows exactly what it is and plays the part perfectly - a family night out, a business dinner, or a date night all will feel comfortable here. After several recent Columbia area dining disasters, we chose Glenwood’s to right the ship and were glad we did.
We went at about 4 o’clock on a weekday, and there was plenty of seating available. Our waiter Michael was friendly and quick. We realized after looking at the menu that this place is basically Copper Canyon, but with a different name. We actually did not love Copper Canyon, but we really liked Glenwood’s. The spinach and artichoke dip, and the calamari were both really good. The fried chicken salad was great. I got a side of ranch in addition to the dressing that came with the salad, and the ranch was really good and tasted homemade. Their sweet potato fries are some of my favorite that I’ve ever had, and they were really good with the homemade ranch. We also got the strip steak special, with bacon mac & cheese, which was great- but the picture didn’t come out unfortunately.
If I could only have 1 crabcake in life, Glenwoods would be where I would want to go!! I visited Glenwood's for my first time, while on a trip and let me say that they have the BEST CRABCAKES!!! I was teetering between the salmon and crabcakes but since I was in Maryland, home of crabcakes, I figured that I couldn't go wrong... and I didn't! They were made of 100% jumbo lump crab meat... no fillers or breading to take away from the product. The crab patties were thick and were perfectly complimented by the sauce that lightly draped my crabcakes. I received my plate and it was so delectable that I forgot to take pictures before gobbling down a full crabcake and half of my potatoes!! And please don't get me started on the house salad! I forgot to make my traditional dressing change; and I'm so grateful that I did! The house salad had a perfect blend of sweetness and crunch because it boasted both the sweetness of the dressing and carrots with the crunch of nuts and fresh, homemade croutons. I think this is one of the best salads I've had in my life! I also amended my meal to order the mashed potatoes, which were also extremely fresh and were clearly made by hand. And did I mention the hot skillet cornbread??? Then I had the nerve to order the lemonade drink that had gin, cucumber and mint!! It was so refreshing yet it had a bit of an unexpected kick to it! As Will Ferrell started on Old School, it's so good when it touches your lips! While this was my first time there, it seems as if you can't go wrong with anything that you order from there!! Our serving team was also very attentive and eager to respond to requests. We came directly from the airport and it was about 4pm, so I didn't feel as odd since I was dressed down. But I would highly recommend dressing up because it is a classy restaurant. And I guess they've gone through a name change because our plates and the marquee on the roadside said Stanford but the name atop the building said Glenwoods. One thing that was cool was their area out front that has flowers. It was a nice touch and feels calming and homely for those who may have to wait outside. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to return, especially if someone else is paying! 😆 Although it's well worth the money!
First time trying Glenwoods and it was good overall. Food came out quick and the service was attentive and consistent. Only issue was it would have been nice to have been brought water along with our ordered beverages. The Bagel and Lox for brunch could also use a small house salad or something else to fill the plate as it looked a bit off with so much empty space. Besides these two suggestions, it was worth a trip.
Glenwood (Stanford Grill) Restaurant My husband and I shared a special occasion at Glenwood’s on a busy Sunday evening. Reservations are highly recommended. We were graciously greeted and being the dinner hour, was met with a trio of musicians playing soft jazz tucked in a corner part of the restaurant. They were very good as we requested to be seated further away in the mid-section of the main dining room. ****Kahlua & Milk was delicious. ***** Calamari Fritti- generous mound of perfectly fried pieces in a light batter with just the right degree of tender slightly chewy goodness, flavored well with melted Parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Marinara sauce enhanced each bite. ***** Prime rib roast was much enjoyed. It came with green beans but I wanted a starch and asked if there was a baked potato since it is not listed as a side dish, our waiter offered it as an “off menu” choice. A well loaded baked potato was presented as a mile high delight of melting butter, topped with dollops of sour cream heaped with bacon bits and fresh herbs. There were the usual au jus and horseradish sauces for dipping. I went with the 16 oz. portion, perfectly seasoned and medium rare. The planned left overs came home with me as well as a request for fresh containers of the dipping sauces too. ***** Hardwood Grilled Atlantic Salmon came with a side of tabbouleh salad and a house made dressing which he completed and enjoyed. ***** “Tiramisu cheesecake” and “Key Lime Pie” were both generously sized portions and came topped with fresh whipped cream. Both were creamy, smooth and not overly sweet when they were tasted. This was a special occasion and we did splurge. The one thing why I could not give this a five star for, is that the prices listed on their web site do not match what was listed on their actual menu. I think it could be something they should do so that there are no surprises that could detract from an otherwise very enjoyable time that we shared.
The service by Tina was excellent and her recommendations were delicious. Less one star for coconut shrimp entree only have 3 shrimp for almost 20 bucks. However the beef ribs were succulent. Cheers!
Nice steak and good service. One of the better expresso martini I had this trip. Also the key lime pie was very good.
Perfect for date night. Had the beef rib there and it was amazing. Came back a week later only to find out if was a one time dish. Please add that to the permanent menu.
I've been to the Glenwood about 8 times now, and overall it's been a solid experience. The atmosphere is great, and most visits have been really enjoyable. That said, I did have a couple of rough moments. On my first visit, I had an uncomfortable situation with a bartender. I politely asked for water while waiting for my food, and she seemed annoyed. My friend noticed she filled my glass from the sink while everyone else got theirs from the bar spout. When I spoke to the manager, he offered to comp my drinks, but honestly, I wasn't looking for freebies—I just wanted the issue addressed properly. It left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). But I did return there months later for brunch with friends, and it was a completely different experience. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and I haven't seen that bartender since. I've continued going back and have had great experiences since then. Glad I didn't write them off after that first visit.
Maybe Im being a little harsh with this review so keep in mind its based on one visit only. Although that's with most situations anyway. Let's start with the entree. Both my meal and my wife's arrived at roughly just over room temperature. I had prime rib, she had crab cakes. The prime rib had basically no flavor and the crabcakes had no lump crab meat; mostly filler. Very disappointed in the main meal. The dessert was, however, delicious. The drinks were also well made and very good. The atmosphere also another plus although it is a wide open area so dont expect it to be very quiet. The service also very good. So if I can get past my "meh" meal for lots of $$, I would rate this fairly well. Unfortunately, when it comes to restaurants, the meal is pretty important. And at least for this time, it just wasn't very good.
This is my second time here... I have to say, the first time I came here the food tasted sooo much better... This time my crab cakes were a bit undone. My husband's sandwich was blah. We ordered spinach dip, that was actually good, except I am used to it being accompied by bread, not chips.
I’ve been going here for years and remember when it was Stanford Grill. One day, I finally got to come early enough for a possible happy hour. They don’t have happy hour anymore:-/ bummer. It’s ok though, so I ordered a filet salad with a side of fries and a glass of rosé. The salad below is what I got. The game of the night with this salad is “find the filet.” This has been my go to order for years. So, I asked to speak with a manager and was told that there are always 5oz of beef tips on this salad. Friends, this is not 5oz and was never 5oz even uncooked. The manager did send me out a side of beef tips. There was a miscommunication where I was under the impression that the salad was comped. They only comped the side of beef. I spoke with the manager and got it comped because of the misunderstanding. Had I known it was only a side of beef being comped, I would have sent the salad back. Please note that this salad is supposed to be a filet (aka filet mignon) salad. I got beef tips. It’s not bad, but definitely not what was advertised. I’m very glad that my salad was (eventually) comped and will sadly find a new “treat yo’self” restaurant because this was just asinine. The plus side is that the fries are still good. The rosé is pricey.
This was one of my favorite restaurants and I’ve dined here 30+ times. Ordered lunch for myself and some coworkers and we found a large bug in our food. Emailed them about it and got no response. Hate to put them on blast but this is bad enough that I feel I should.
