Came in last Saturday with my wife for a casual - yet tasteful - dining experience. We were greeted by the hostess, and sat at a lovely booth, whilst my wife and I were taking in the vibrant atmosphere. We were then greeted by our server, Angel. He was a lovely young man who displayed the utmost professionalism, attentiveness, effectiveness, care and respect. Never in my 44 years of living on this Earth have I encountered such impeccable service from a youngster. In conclusion, my wife and I were blown away by such an astonishing performance. Bravo! Food was bad though.

I would like say. Manager Joseph was the best of all. He was so attentive and cordial. I have never experience exceptional service. He deserves a raise. I am very pleased. Thank you Joseph you are the best. Thank you for everything you did for us.

I love El Fenix. I have been coming here for years and find the food and service exceptional. I usually order the sour cream enchiladas and I am really fond of their chicken tortilla soup. Their prices are very good and run about $10. It's hard to beat.

This tex mex restaurant chain has always ben delicious. I'm very glad they still have some open. Had a late lunch here with family, and everything was great. The enchiladas were flavorful, the watermelon el jeje was tasty, and the service was great. My favorites are the chicken enchiladas and the salsa. All the cocktails are always refreshing, and the food is not overpriced. Can't wait to return.

Luv it luv it luv it. I've been going to "da fenix" as long as I can remember. My usuals are steak nachos, tortilla soup, lemon pie. Always good food. The only negative is that sometimes I order tortillas and don't receive them with the meal. Other than that, good experience every time. Service was good and friendly. PS...Luv the chips and salsa!!!!

I went with my wife & sister -in-law. I had the 3 in beef enchiladas, beans, rice. Wife had 2 beef enchiladas with rice, beans & 1 tamale beef. Sister -in-law had 2 beef enchiladas with rice, beans. Everything was hot & delicious. We enjoyed our dinner. Everyone was very polite & kind. We will be back very soon.

El Fenix has been a delicious, fun restaurant for family gatherings for many years. The food is always good and I love how noisy it is. We had two loud toddlers and didn't bother anybody else. 😂 I could not get a good picture with my husband & his 2 grandsons. 😂

Took my kids here for lunch, paid $30 total (not including tip), which I found very reasonable considering the atmosphere and service I received. On a recommendation from my waitress Christina I had some kind of brisket enchilada that I really enjoyed, and my kids both enjoyed their food, too. I would say El Fenix is the classiest tex mex place I've visited.

Traditional Mexican that never disappoints, I get an item no longer on the menu but still in the system. I grade them the best margaritas and salsa in DFW. I’ve been going to ElFenix for 50+ years and happy there are still a few around, although sorry to see some closed in the last several years.

Great Tex Mex and great service. I have never had anything on the menu that wasn’t delicious. Whether you want enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, nachos, or you name it, this place brings it! I’m hoping that the brisket nachos come back soon as well!

First time visiting this location. I've loved El Fenix since the day I could walk. Every location I've been to is consistent. This location was no different. Great food, and great service. The best nachos and guacamole on the planet. I do miss the Chicken Tenchita Salad though. See you guys next time!

My wife loved her Tilapia Veracruz and I enjoyed my cheese enchiladas which were only $5.99 on Wednesday.

We went for birthday ðinner and they came out with huge sombreros and dessert. I got the fajita nachos and they were good. The waiter was very nice and very attentive. Gave refills even when not asked.

Their chips and salsa are really good. I love the texture of the chip, a little airy. I have never ordered anything that wasn't tasty. Their best thing that I have has so far is their veggie enchiladas. Very good. Refried beans can come out dry every now and then but their pinto and black beans are really good. They have good lunch prices. Used to have a great lunch menu that you could order off of on Sundays but they no longer do that.

Went with a large group to celebrate a birthday. Was seated right away and servers were waiting. Food came out without error. Very friendly and attentive staff. Overall , a good experience.

Hubby & I have lived in the Arlington/Grand Prairie area for almost 16 years now. We like coming to El Fenix because the chips are salsa are the BOMB 💣💥!!!! The food is good too. It has been 20 plus years since last here, my wife's first, were wanting some Tuesday Tacos and ended up here. No taco deal so order my fallback, I get everywhere Nachos. These are Picadillo Beef and were very good as these are individual chip nachos. This has been a fave of mine for many decades for some traditional enchilada and taco Tex-Mex.

The margarita tasted like kool-aid without any tequila. I hardly drink and even I couldn’t taste any liquor in the drink. The restaurant was too warm and felt stifling. The salsa is just bland with no taste or any spiciness. The chicken for the fajitas tasted very bland and had no flavor. We used to go here years back but things have definitely changed. The waitress was attentive and served us quickly.

I brought a group of senior ladies for lunch. We come because not only the food but the chips are awesome. Today they had old stale chips that were not their usual. The waiter was not very cheerful. Being with seniors she should have poured the soup broth for them. I hope we get better service and food the next time.

The food is delicious but the service we had was atrocious. Our server didn't bother refilling any drinks (even the water). Margaritas were advertised on the menu as coming with a salted rim with lime (standard for margaritas) but did not. On the plus side, the Dos-a-rita came with a lime & a full-size bottle of Dos Equis. We waited so long for everything we were there for over 2 hours. They weren't super busy and other diners came and went with decent service from other servers, but ours was awful. We ordered sopapillas but after waiting nearly 30 minutes for them we ended up flagging down the server & asking for the bill. He immediately brought the sopapillas. I'm not sure we'll be returning here.

Restroom was in horrible state. I just went to wash my hands and was disgusted by the filth and unattended stalls and trashed floor. My food arrived luke warm and it took a long time to get drink refills.

Service was ok. Food was piping hot. Rice and beans were bland. We had sour cream enchiladas and various tacos (red salsa added in pics). Simple menu. I would come to El Fenix if I was feeding an older crowd whose stomachs can't handle too much flavor, spice, seasonings, etc.

I had my food delivered. I ordered the El Fenix Dinner, with 2 cheese enchiladas, 2 tamales, crispy beef taco. I received 1 cheese enchilada and 2 beef enchiladas. A crispy taco shell with no beef. Beef, bean, and cheese Nachos with jalapeños. No beef or jalapeños. The lemon ice box pie was fabulous! The corn tortillas were great! The main portion of my dinner was a rating of a flop! Total waste of my $30!

I haven't been to an El Fenix restaurant in probably forty years and when I spotted this one, memories of my youth filled me with nostalgia and I had to relive the past. After getting past the memories, I realized why I haven't been in so many years. It is a memory that can just remain in the past as there are much better options going forward. I'm not saying there was anything bad about the food, service, or prices, I'm just saying there wasn't anything great about them either. For run of the mill, fill your belly Tex-Mex, it's okay. Fond memories aren't always great realities.

We chose to eat at the Arlington El Fenix. First thing I notice as I walk in the door is this ridiculous sign that states Firearms are prohibited on these premises. Seriously....I can understand not wanting someone to OPEN CARRY, but a blanket statement of NO firearms. What about those that have a concealed carry permit. They are confirmed capable to carry concealed and one day may save your life. Now for the food. I like El Fenix, but I was very disappointed when we were served chips that were the size of dimes. I actually had to ask for a better bowl of chips. What is worse is I believe it was brought to us by the manager, a lady who was not in a uniform. The main dish we ordered came out within 10 minutes, which made me kind of nervous. Was this a meal that has been sitting on the hot shelf waiting for an order????? I am very disappointed in the Martinez family and what they have let their resteraunt become!!!

Stopped in at El Fenix in Arlington (Cooper at I-20) for dinner and was honestly pretty disappointed. Our server was very friendly, but there were repeated issues just getting tea and water served correctly. When my chicken fajita dinner arrived, the portion was about the same size as what you’d expect from a lunch plate. On top of that, the fajitas were extremely dry, lacking in flavor, and looked like they may have been cooked earlier for lunch and then reheated for dinner service. The server said he spoke with the kitchen manager and came back with flan as a way to make up for the unsatisfactory food, but I couldn’t eat it due to an allergy. Unfortunately, no other option was offered, so the gesture didn’t really help. While I appreciated the friendliness of the server, the overall experience was disappointing. For the price, I expected fresh, flavorful fajitas and a more thoughtful response when the food wasn’t right. Hopefully management will address both the food quality and how they handle customer recovery, because El Fenix has a long history in the area and should be able to do much better.

I thought this was going to be very good as the downtown location is allegedly a staple of Dallas restaurants…literally the worse meal I’ve had in Dallas thus far and I dine everywhere in all kinds of settings from mom and pop places to $500 dinners at steakhouses. My son and I both ordered the carne asada meal. Refried beans were probably something I could find at a school cafeteria and the rice was mid, at best. My carne asada wasn’t cooked correctly, not seasoned well except maybe a little salt and pepper, but the real problem was how rubbery it was. It even looked like a completely different type of texture and type of meat versus my son’s plate. I took one bite of meat, rice and beans and put it aside and couldn’t fathom eating more. This is disgraceful to Mexican food and Tex mex food. I should’ve known my first red flag was there was no POC eating in here at all…anyway, idk if it was this location or this is the standard for all of the locations but there is so much delicious food in Dallas that is actually seasoned and quality pieces of meat, why would you ever opt for this? Yuck.

Horrible experience on Fathers Day at the Arlington location. My Uber eats order eas incorrect. The girls at the front said they were unable to help since it was an Uber Order. I asked to speak with the manager and informed him of the issue. He also refused to help. Uber told me to speak with the manager, and he still refused. I am saddened by the fact I was unable to get a correct order since the manager refused to offer support. They have lost me as a customer.

We realized we were the only African American people in there. We waited a few minutes more before leaving. No one asked us a thing. I've never experienced such racism in a restaurant. Today September 15,2025 arlington texas they did not honor the 1.07 enchilada I was told they reached their maximum and I was charged $12.74 for two single cheese enchiladas and 1/2 avocado high way robbery I showed them the text I received and I said it does not say that there's a time limit or how many customers are allowed it says anniversary enchiladas 1.07 and margarita 1.07 bad customer service and Shame on your manager for not honoring the text never going to el fenix again

Tried this place before heading back to Houston. Our server 10/10, it was her 3rd day of work but have nothing negative to say about her. The food. The “queso” tasted like a concession stand cheese. Salsa tasted like spiced up picante sauce. The fajita meat tasted rubbery/no taste/old, seemed like our food was warmed in the microwave. We give the food 2/10, Seems like the place cutting corners with cheap products and low grade food.

I had a really disappointing experience at El Fenix. My order was incorrect, and when I brought it to the attention of the staff, the girls at the front were completely unhelpful and dismissive. I asked to speak with a manager, thinking they would make it right—but instead, the manager literally shoed me off like I was a problem. Fake apology, no attempt to fix the issue, just rude behavior all around. I’ve been a customer for years, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. Treating customers this way is unacceptable.

Do NOT go here! After years of being a faithful patron & a small business owner who knows how to treat a customer, the way that Manager MANNY treated me, was HORRIBLE & he should be FIRED! He charged my husband $23 for a PINT of chili con carne. I returned it (was not even asking for a refund) wanting to discuss the HIGH pricing. Manny said that the computer sets the price & he has no control over it. Well, a mgr CAN override the price. I asked him for the corporate # NOT to complain about him, but to "discuss" price GOUGING. Why would I spend this when I could have ordered a meal & a half for the same price?! He refunded the money & then told me, "look up the corporate number on the internet." VERY rude! Two weeks previously we had called to place a catering order for a family event & he answered. When my husband told him he could not understand him, he HUNG UP! When we talked to him about it in person, he pretended he knew nothing. When I told him about this today, he said, "it was not me." This is NOT the way you treat a LOYAL or ANY paying patron. You apologize & discuss a solution. He pretty much scooted me out of the restaurant and argued with me in front of patrons and employees. Clearly this man has NO business sense! I will be posting on all my social media and telling all my clients to go elsewhere. With so many Mexican restaurants out there, please join me in going somewhere else!

I got enchilada dinner with Charro Beans. When I poored the beans in a to go cup, a used butter top was in the beans, of course I didn’t see it in the original cup, it had to be at the bottom. I told my waiter, he told the manager. She came to table and show me it was the top of butter package. Huh, they don’t put butter in beans, how did it get there, figure that out. She only offered to give me new beans to go. Not sure if I will be back, I’ve been coming here forever.

The service was slow, they were not busy so we should have been served a lot faster than we were. The food was cold, cheese not melted, rice hard, chicken in enchiladas was stringy , hard to chew and tasteless. The tortilla in the beef enchiladas was hard, like they were prepared way in advance and heated up to serve. All in all my family did not enjoy dinner at El Fenix. We looked forward to our visit, however, it did not go well. I remember the food being hot and tasting great. Unfortunately El Fenix does not seem to care about the quality of their food or service anymore. The El Fenix we had dinner at was the downtown location in Dallas Tx.
