Our first time there, we will return
Great food and people.
We have been here a few times since they opened. It keeps getting better!!!
Food was well prepared, tasted good, and service was excellent
Amazing service and very warm staff! Would come back again and recommend to anyone.
Great food excellent service and really good prices. It was such a great lunch we went back the next day for breakfast.
excellent food. best burger I've had in a while
Great food. Large portions. Great staff and vibe. Highly recommend!
Food was top notch! Service is what you expect for fine dining!
best chicken marsala, great staff, and chef/owner came by to say hello
Wow! Amazing food and service was top notch. Had the ribeye and Brussel sprouts appetizer, delicious! Will definitely be headed back soon.
Great service and even better food. The sirloin was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The beans were delicious.
Hardly anyone here on a Saturday night, but the food was PERFECT!!
Wow wow wow, I just had the best Western Burger with shoestring fries
"Tonight he'll be at Vix. Everybody comes to Vix" LOL Great food and service
You guys are so awesome. Thank you so much! You guys are like family to me. Thank you for everything. You guys made our birthday dinner really special. We’ll definitely be back to see you again soon
Stopped in to try out Vix. Awesome lunch, burger and artichoke we’re cooked perfect and tasty!
Vix saloon brings back the old vibe of the old west. Food is good with big portions and great service.
Great food and big portions! Definitely recommend for breakfast or date night.
Great food! Full bar is coming soon.
Good food, good music, had room for 6 of us to eat.
Burger was surprisingly good, will come back
Very friendly staff, and tasty food.
We celebrated a birthday dinner and it was PERFECT! Four of us sat on the patio for the evening. Ordered the Brussels sprouts to share. (They were AMAZING!) I ordered the filet medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Hubby got the trail vaquero mixed entree, and it was all delicious. Our server was super attentive, and everyone we came in contact with was friendly. We really love Vix!
It really is just like McClintocks was, little has changed. When we go out to the coast is a place we often visit. So it’s familiar and just as good. Loved the food and service.
One of The Best tri tip sandwiches we've ever had. The mac n cheese was fresh and delicious. The salad greens were green and crisp. Vic(spelling?) jr served us, he was really on top of things, friendly and looked proud to be present. Chef & owner, Vic (spelling?) Came out and graced every table with a professional and personable spirit. Great heart goes into this place and it shows in every person.. Thank You!
Came to Vix Creek Saloon for dinner and had the best time! As a big fan of McClintocks it was great to see him take over the place and everything was wonderful. Ordered the Steak bites medium rare and they were juicy and cooked to perfection. Service was great and ambiance was comfortable. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast next time! Please check out this local spot and support! You won’t be disappointed!
I’ve had breakfast from here multiple times and I’ve also been in for lunch and all of the food was so delicious! Service is always so kind and very accommodating. I can’t wait to try their dinner!
My wife and I decided to finally check out Vix and we were glad we did. She had the Salmon dinner and I had the Trailer ride vaquero. Both meals were perfect. The Salmon was seasoned perfectly and plenty of it. My steak was perfectly cooked medium with ribs and shrimp. Large portions plenty of food great atmosphere and the friendly service from Justin was amazing, Thank you Justin. Chef/Owner even had time to come out to chat with us. We decided this will be our new date nite place. If you havent tryed Vix yet you need too give it a shot. Well worth it!!!
Had the best clam chowder ever! Put it on the menu please! 🙏
Very good food. Love the steak ribeye breakfast 😋 all of the food is great been several times
Food was amazing all around! Started with the grilled artichoke, perfectly charred. Tritip on the sando was very good, super tender. Mac and cheese was amazing and the beans were good too. Can't complain about the service or the atmosphere out on the side patio
Thought we would give Vix a try. It was excellent. The artichoke was the best I’ve ever had. The ribeye was absolutely tasty. Salad and bake potato was great.
First time I have eaten here since it became Vix! Food and service was excellent. Tanya our server was wonderful, there were 12 or so of us ladies.
This restaurant is located in a beautiful spot by the creek. Beautiful scenery. The service was fast. I love shrimp so i ordered shrimp scampi, and oh my gosh!!! This is the best shrimp scampi I've ever had!!! Highly recommend this place! See you guys soon!
Great place! I don’t know why they aren’t packed! Maybe just because they are new. The food was cooked perfect and there was a lot of it. Please support this place. We met the owner and he was a humble appreciative man who, from our perspective, obviously loved and treated his employees very well .
We used to go to "Little McLintock's" in the AG Village, and were sad when it closed. Vix Creek Saloon is a welcome replacement. Food was delicious! Cooked to perfection and nice presentation. We really enjoyed our meal and will be going back! Victor came out and greeted everyone in between meal preps, and even helped setting up for a group. He really cares about his customers.
What started out as going in for just a couple of burgers on National Cheeseburger Day, turned into three meals in three days. What can I say, they serve great food at reasonable prices.
Awesome food excellent service, food was very good had juevos ranchero and I would say it was probably the best on the central coast, beans are also right there at the top! Victor the owner is a great guy came to our service right when coming through the door and his team were on top of everything and served us like we were family! Will definitely be coming back for lunch and dinner!
Are there this weekend food was amazing owner and chef came to table to check on us it was very cool. Food was amazing in the old McLintock restaurant in Arroyo Grande and is better than ever had a great meal highly recommend
Burger was amazing. Salad was very good with lots of steak! We were able to sit outside, with our pup.
I was missing F McClintock's. Then I heard Vix Creek Saloon was open where the village McClintock's was. So I mosied on over to check it out. I'm glad I did. My favorite steak is a ribeye. Done medium. The steak was delicious and the meal filling. I can't wait to go back this weekend for breakfast.
Solid choice for a good meal. I had the burger and fries, excellent 👌. My wife had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. She Loved the mashed potatoes as well. The steak wasn't as big as a Jocko's steak, but it didn't cost as much either. The staff was excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face and were looking to meet any of our needs. The owner came out and asked how our meals were. You could tell he really cared. Seems like a good place you could bring the family, and on Friday night when we were there they had some live music as well. It was just a gal playing her guitar and singing. Pleasant, not obtrusive. Will be back. I think breakfast there would probably be great. Support a good local business. The good news is Friday at 6:00 all the tables were full, but we didn't have to wait.
Great family steak house where everyone has options to satisfy their taste buds. We took my Dad and 2 Daughters, enjoyed some live music they had that night. The atmosphere is pleasent, they've updated the decore since it was McClintock's just the right amount where it feels fresh and their own, but also maintained the similar ranch steak house vibe. The entire Crew were very nice, helpful and super on it. We're so glad Vix opened up and can't wait to return soon!
We left completely stuffed and satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will definitely come back. Hopefully its a little more cozy and warm next time.
So thrilled that Victor has opened his new restaurant in Arroyo Grande. We missed his amazing food and are happy to report that his menu is fantastic. We started with the steak bites and french fries for the appetizer. The steak bites were juicy and well seasoned. The fries were crispy and flavorful. I added a side of his famous chimichurri for dipping my fries and I was not disappointed. We moved on to the sirloin steak with mac and cheese for one entree. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mac and cheese was given a double thumbs up from a picky teenager. The bacon crumble on top was genius. The pork ribs were tender and the buttery rice pilaf was amazing. I was able to fit in a few bites of beans and bread (don’t miss out!). The beans were some of the best I’ve had on the central coast, if not the best. Sadly, we were so full we couldn’t have dessert, but watched jealously as our neighbors devoured the chocolate mousse cake and raspberry cheesecake. I highly recommend it!!! Five stars!!! We will be back soon.
Another wonderful meal here. Today was breakfast. I had the pancake meal with perfectly crisp bacon, fluffy pancakes and wonderful over easy eggs. Great food, service and atmosphere!
Stopped by Vix Creek Saloon tonight and had a great time. The place has a super chill vibe—felt really welcoming right off the bat. Staff was friendly, and the whole atmosphere just felt like a good time. I ordered the steak, ribs, and shrimp combo and it was fantastic! Steak came out perfectly medium rare, just the way I like it. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. You can tell the kitchen knows what they’re doing. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to. Whether you’re grabbing a beer with friends or just want a solid meal, Vix Creek is the move.
Ask for “Nix Breakfast Burger” if you’re there for Breakfast. It’s not on the Menu but tell them Nick sent you and show them this photo, you’ll be glad you did!
The experience was great. We could tell the restaurant is just getting started and working out some soft opening kinks. That being said... the food was delicious and the portions were big. One small critique we had was that the entrees were hot while the sides were warm to cool. Flavors were spot on and we look forward to coming back as the service was amazing. Thank you Vix Creek for the positive experience and best wishes going forward.

Very friendly, family owned, very tasty food with large portions. 2 to go boxes from a dinner for two with an appetizer. Clean and had live music with a lovely voice from a guitar playing lady. Definitely will go back. We go out about once every week to 10 days and are locals so get to decide where we want to spend our time and treasure. We'll be back :)
Vix is a hidden gem in the village of Arroyo Grande. Delicious food. 10/10 recommend. Hearty breakfast options like thick hand cut bacon, golden sausage, waffles, pancakes, eggs. For lunch and dinner they have steak, tri tip, etc. Can't go wrong.
set outside looked at the creek absolutely gorgeous food was delicious everybody's food was delicious. highly recommend. knowledgeable friendly service. reasonable prices. I make it a regular stop once a week
Had the country fried steak and eggs... real hand-breaded ribeye, melt-in-your-mouth tender, with homemade gravy that was perfect. The one waitress running the show was awesome, friendly, fast, and on top of everything. Great food, great vibe absolutely worth the stop! I'll be back next time I'm in the area!
Everything I ordered was amazing. I went on a whim with my mom cause we wanted to try something new and we’re hoping we’d even be able to get a seat. They seated us as soon as we walked in, our waitress was fantastic! The food was so amazing, we were both blown away at literally everything lol the salad, the baked potatoes, the steak and the cheesecake was perfect! I’m already planning my next dinner
Friendly, attentive Staff and great food. The Ribeye was absolutely delicious! Only thing missing is a full bar. They do serve beer & wine. The Owner coming out to check with his customers is a Class Act!
We had such a great experience at Vix Creek! Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor. The tri-tip sandwich was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, while the western burger was hearty and cooked just right. The onion rings were crispy and golden—definitely some of the best we’ve had. We also tried the grilled artichoke, which was a standout and added a nice fresh touch to our meal. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy good food. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Vic to anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying meal!
Went for the first time and will definitely be back! I had the cheeseburger and I can’t believe how thick and DELICIOUS it was. I honestly can tell you it was the BEST cheeseburger I’ve ever had! My husband had the chicken sandwich and he said it was excellent! Atmosphere is fantastic! Loved it inside and the chef (also owner) came and asked how our lunch was. So personable!
From the moment we walked in, we felt very welcomed. Everyone working here is absolutely lovely in every way. The live music was a lovely touch, not loud or out of place, but like an old school record playing jukebox in the background. The portions of the food are plentiful, and the flavors are fantastic. Had the prime rib special and if it’s available when you are here, get it. It was the prime rib of my dreams! Tender, seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes, au jus & horseradish sauce couldn’t have complemented any better. My partner had the rack of ribs and they were also fantastic. This is a no frills place, with fresh, delicious food and wonderful service. 10/10 highly recommend, do not miss!
We went Friday night and had prime rib. It was sooo good. I ordered medium rare and that is what I got. Also, came with mashed potatoes, asparagus and three shrimp. Absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back. Vic is so awesome. He came out and asked how we liked our dinner. A gracious owner and host. Thank you Vic. 😊

Great Ribeye
This is as probably every other review mentions, the old F McKlintocks AG location. The inside is pretty much as it was, except that they thankfully removed some of the TVs. I say thankfully because it was much quieter and you can actually hear what people are saying when you talk to your family now. I am still sad that the prior owners removed all the local brands from the walls. The literal whitewashing of local history is a bummer to see happen real time. We went here for lunch and it was fantastic. I got the tri tip sandwich and it's made the local way with garlic bread as the bread and the meat tender and tastes like it came off the back of a pickup at a fundraiser BBQ. So delicious. The mac and cheese is creamy, tastes great and the sweet potato fries were great too. My mom enjoyed her steak bites very much and my neighbor polished off her whole entire salad. The salad came piled with tri tip on top, they do not skimp on the salad ingredients. Everything was fresh. The ranch is not watery. I made sure I saved my leftovers so I could reheat them in the air fryer because this food is not going to waste. Definitely stop here and try it out! We want to come back for breakfast and dinner to try out those menus as well. If you want a great local steakhouse, this is it! So glad that they took over this space and breathed life into it again!
Great dog-friendly deck by the creek, great food. You'll never get full points by delivering an already-opened bottle of wine to the table. Wine was a bit warm too. Live music inside was too loud for me, but fine out on the patio.
My chicken Caesar salad was terrific. The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. We will return!
My filet was medium and my husband's sirloin was tuff. The potions of beans was small.
Get the brussel sprouts app- so good. Steak was cooked perfectly, med rare. Thanks to Tawnya for the amazing service. Will be back to get a burger, looked fantastic
The food at dinner was better than expected. The rib eye was tender and cooked correctly and the burger was one of the best in the 5-cities. We will be back.

Went with a couple that have been here before. We were unfortunately not impressed. We had the half rack ribs and chicken marsala. The ribs came with salad, vegetable and beans. The ribs were sad... Not the worst we have had but pretty sad. Not cooked long enough so they were quite fatty, the flavor was not soaked through, tough, and not easy to eat. They were not cooked long enough, should be slow cooked to develop flavor, instead, covered with sauce that was not excellent. The marsala states it comes with salad and beans. I did not get the beans but tasted them ( from others dish ) and no loss there. They were super bland. The marsala was not too bad, basic. The atmosphere of this place, very casual, open and a little noisy. As the customers increased it got loud and static. It was also very cold, this seems to be the case in many places these days. Not sure why. Not what I expected especially because the prices are on the high end. I had the notion that it was more like fine dining. My fault. And on the prices, the website shows prices Not reflected on the menu. Two to four dollars more per item. I don't understand how hard it is to update a website, especially when you have a hard copy menu because those are expensive to print so those prices are set for awhile. May not seem like an important detail but in my opinion attention to details makes or breaks a place. The service, This was GREAT. Our server was attentive but not smothering. She was friendly, made good suggestions and took care of us. Not sure if we would go back or not But , we would order something different.
We had a mixed experience here. My husband’s steak was great, but my full rack of baby back ribs was unfortunately very dry. When I asked for a small container of BBQ sauce to go with my leftovers, I was surprised there was an extra charge. It’s a small thing, but it didn’t feel very customer-friendly. Hopefully this was just an off night, but I’d skip the ribs next time.
The reservation process uses Google, a convoluted system consisting of submitting a request, letting Google check with the venue, then a response that your request is available (or not). Open Table is so much easier and you get an instant response or choices. The food is just OK. A bit dry and overcooked. The roasted Brussel sprouts were excellent. Wine service was just a bottle with the cork already removed, along with some glasses - pour it yourself. It was nice that the owner came by to see how it was all going, but that doesn't make it on par with McClintock's.
I'm a local and I am very partial to our Santa Maria style BBQ. So that being said, the oak smoke flavor is what I am always expecting when getting a steak in this area. So needless to say I was really disappointed with my ribeye because it was charbroil. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned well but it just lacked the best part; oakie smokie deliciousness. My wife had the chicken alfredo and it was also good but not great. The veggies were undercooked and hard as a rock. The service was actually good and the waitress was very nice but they only had her doing all the serving and checks. So when it got busy the service slowed way down. I know they are just getting started and the menu will most likely be tweaked a little here and there so I hope I'm not being too harsh. I will probably be back to try some of the other items on the menu but I really hope they can add an oak pit. Only my opinion.
Went for lunch I had BBQ Ribs n they were outstanding as was salad. Wife had Top Sirlion n was a big disappointment (very tough). Neither of us liked the beans ( way to spicy). I would give another chance
I decided to go for Christmas dinner and was very surprised that there was no warm welcome coming in the door. No one except the hostess sitting at a chair at the bar no welcome nothing except "do you have a reservation" so we sat at the bar order wine and looked around. i asked the bartender where the owner was and he said cooking in the kitchen. I was surprised as I waitresses for over 20 years and I always had a manager or owner work right along side me as I would seat people. the waitress was busy and the hostess never helped her get small things for the customers. we had to wait a really long time. I was also surprised the owner didn't greet people. it is so hard to stay in business these days that a nice "thank you" from the owner or manager goes a long way. Food was good but I doubt I will be back any time soon.

The place smells so musty inside it's gross so we sat outside.. Ordered the Brussels sprouts for appetizers. They were so hard and undercooked they were unedible.. My friend ordered the tri tip salad said it was the worst salad she's ever ate, had no flavor just some tough tri tip bites and olives... i ordered shrimp scampi salad ended up getting the whole dinner it was alright but not fantastic...won't be going back
Tried to go to your website to see menus, etc. It says it is a Private Website - kinda counterproductive to advertising your new restaurant. You might want to check this out and correct the problem. Thank you. Hope to get in to eat one day.
Ordered a BLTA. Don’t bother. Sandwich had three slices of bacon. Granted they filled the whole sandwich, but that’s only because they were barely cooked and hadn’t shrink like they would have if they had been fully cooked. Almost raw bacon is not edible. May have to stick to nachos 🤣 UPDATE: Service today was NOT automatic 18% tip-worthy. Normally our food is served all together. Today it was more than 10 minutes between the first two dishes served, and the last person to get their food. So much for eating lunch together 😬😬
So we decided to try the new restaurant I ordered a fillet, medium rare very tough. The fillet was about the size of big cookie. The bacon was that was wrapped in bacon. It was over salty. The beans were extremely hot with jalapeño in it, which they never said it came with the French bread was a joke. I can make better French bread than that and garlic bread. My girlfriend had the brussels sprouts, which was pretty good but too big and kind of tough. The she also ordered the macaroni and cheese, and she said no bacon, but it came with bacon and zero flavor. We were very disappointed and the food and I made speak to the manager or the owner the customer service the lady that waited or not honest, didn’t do any Remorse about the bill. She just gave us a bill didn’t apologize for the food. I was very super disappointed there was way too many other restaurants around this area that I go to have a lot better service.! Santa Santa
Called in an order, they said ready in 20-30 minutes. Show up in 30 min still waited 20 and food was cold. Missed my potatoes and bbq sauce, the heck. For a full order of ribs I got 2 tiny slices of bread and a half of very small container of vaquero beans. I mean they’re just beans… fill up the container and spare a few more tiny slices of bread omg. This place has some extreme growing pains. Hope they grow up. I’m A retired executive chef and I pride myself on yelping good revues for the service and quality. This place has failed me twice now in one month. NO BUENO Vic, step it up dude.
The Trailer Ride Vaquero was a huge disappointment...the steak was terrible no seasoning just throw on the pit...and really 2 ribs when the lady that took the order said it was 3 to 4 ribs what a joke And the 2 tiny shrimp scampi a real joke ...and you charge 40 bucks?? You need to revise your menu ...really what a huge disappointment and the owner used to work for Mc clintoks you should no better... PERIOD
