Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Texas. Great atmosphere, excellent service, wonderful food. I highly recommend the jalapeño margarita. We always get a couple dozen tamales to take home. It’s half an hour from home, but we make sure to go at least once a month.

Came in with a group of 8 and a baby. Our waitress was great keeping up on drinks and salsa and keeping an eye on us. We stayed maybe an hour and half or so. But the entire experience was great! All of the staff we interacted with was super friendly and they seemed genuine!!!

Really good spot for spot on Mexican cuisine. This place has been in Athens for 53 years so you know you are getting a solid meal from a place that's been doing it that long.

Great Tex-Mex menu, promptly served by cheerful, efficient waitresses. Prices are reasonable for both food and drink. It can be pretty busy and gets rather loud but not obtrusive at all.

Food and service were phenomenal! Our waiter, Jose, was exceptional!! Will definitely be back on our next time through Athens.

Ochoa's offered a great choice of Tex- Mex options with some American favorites as well. The chips and salsa was good plus came out quick. I ordered the Texas plate and would recommend.

We get the fajitas and chili rilleno. It is always good. The rest of the food is good. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It can get noisy.

The wait staff was very courteous and efficient. The time we were there was not late dinner time. The service was very quick. We got nachos for an appetizers with fresh guacamole which was very good. I had two bottled Dos Eqius. The entree I had was very good and reasonably priced. Our total bill was $30. I would definitely go again.

The food is amazing, from the chips and salsa to the enchiladas and rice, all the food was some of the best we've had in a long time. Unfortunately the huge let down from the evening was the service, we felt basically ignored while the two tables beside us got served by the same waitress and what should have been a 40 minute dinner took over an hour and a half while all the other wait staff were in and out of the dining room taking care of their customers constantly. We will likely be back but only for take-out if available due to the lack of service.

The salsa is FREAKING AMAZING! The tacos are fabulous but wasn't happy this last time with my sour cream chicken enchiladas, chicken was really dark and didn't taste right! But, I will still say this is a great place to eat waitress was also a manager and she was great! If nothing else THE SALSA IS A MUST GO TASTE! CHEESE DIP IS GREAT TOO

I'm only rating this a 1 star because the hostess did recognize us being present. Went to Ochoa's to eat the evening of 02/07. Finally greeted by the hostess. Requested a booth. I saw the booth when it became available so we're still waiting to go get seated there. Hostess come back, takes a couple to a table. Before sitting at table, she takes them to the booth that should have been ours!!!!! Hostess comes back and my friend asks ,"so you're just going to give our booth away like we haven't been sitting here waiting??" You knew we were waiting. All she could say was I'm sorry. At point, I'm not waiting to eat or hear any other excuses like we didn't matter, so we left. They didn't care to make it right as the Manager was at the register, heard everything.

I’ve always had bad experiences at Ochoa’s. However, I decided to give them another try. We were sat in the corner and watched other people sat after us. They received drinks, chips and salsa. All while we just sat there trying to figure out who our waitress was. Finally, I went and spoke to the hostess who went looking for our waitress. I sat back down and waited. After another 5 minutes my wife and I got up to leave. As I was leaving, I spoke the manager who said he heard the situation. In which I wondered why he didn’t try to resolve the issue and instead did nothing. I would not recommend this place unless you like horrible service and average food.
