Have never had a bad experience here and every single employee is nothing but kind and happy to be there. And the aqua frescas can’t be beat.

These are truly authentic tacos! I was not impressed by a lot of the Tex-mex restaurant reviews in the area, so we decided to try these. Staff was very polite. The man who took our order was very patient as we decided what we wanted. The tacos are very full. I recommend the chicken ones and some queso. Yum!

My favorite taco joint in Austin that is not a taco truck. The tacos here are top-notch! The only other sit-down taco joint in Austin that I would give this much props, is Taco more with their Stellar goat tacos. If your self and you want a taco this is a good place to check out. They also an excellent lunch special.

Good lord they have some great tacos. I went for the 1st time and tried a breakfast, veggie, and fish tacos. All were good but that veggie was amazing!!! I also had a horchata with espresso shot and Omg I could drink that every day. It's so worth the trip, super fun and really affordable food.

El Tacorrido has consistently delivered delicious, quality tortas over the past few years! The "tortas de hongo" (mushroom tortas) are the bomb (and I'm not even a vegetarian)! They really know what they're doing. You will not be disappointed! Can't say much about the atmosphere as I have always done take-out.

Never regretted under ordering more in my life. Was in the neighborhood taking care of clients and grabbed a breakfast taco. One. Stupid. I ordered spicy chorizo, egg, potato, and cheese. Requested spiciest hot sauce. Freak!!! It was hot, fresh, and oozing with explosive flavor! I loved it, and only regret not ordering more than one. This is a must hit and worth the struggle to find it. Don't blink. You might miss it.

I've been coming here since 2014, the breakfast tacos are especially good. Try the chorizo - not too greasy like other places. Can never decide which I like more - the green or red sauce, both fantastic.

An appropriately priced taco in Austin? That tastes amazingly authentic????? The salsa was fresh, the al pastor to die for, the quesadilla was cheesy and delicious. The pastor is IMO some of the best in town, and I can't pass up a guisada every single time through. $3 per taco for all that meat, you really can't beat this place! Bro I tell you what this is literally the best horchata you will get in Austin. the consistency is quite perfect I would say it’s perfectly in between too creamy and too watery the ice is just right and the flavor lingers in your mouth after each sip reminding you of the bliss that it is to drink this. I am not exaggerating in fact I’m a very critical person but in all honesty I will give this place five stars. come try it for yourself and your life will be changed. now I would be that guy and give it four stars and be like well the reason why I gave it four stars and not five is because the price is a little bit pricy but no way I’m not giving this a five because they deserve every single dollar.

Did a walk up order, service was really friendly, and my order was ready in less than five minutes. Tacos and salsa were all super tasty, especially the pollo taco and salsa verde. Not really much seating area, intended to be more of a drive-through. 100% recommend stopping by!! Prices are decent for central Austin and portions were generous. Definitely full after 3 tacos :)

Hole in the wall walk up & drive up stand. I ordered a bunch of items but the one that was absolutely amazing was the portobello soft taco - OMG. I ordered one with the few other items then went back for 2 more of the portobello tacos. We were visiting relatives so I will definitely be back when I am in the area. Oh, & the chips & guacamole were great!

Quesadillas, guac, the best homemade chips and cant leave without boat loads of their verde salsa. Edwin the owner, is always enthusiastic about the team and the service and food they bring, takes pride in who he hires... Always smiling happy crew, come by a few times and they'll immediately get to know you.

Hands down the BEST breakfast tacos you will ever eat!!! I never knew that getting tacos through a drive thru would taste so amazing! My kid usually doesn’t eat any type of salsa on her tacos but she loved the green salsa from this place. She put so much on her tacos I was in disbelief! I would highly recommend eating here. Wow! Breakfast tacos all day and DELICIOUS! Lattes were pretty good, too. Got chicken tacos for the kids for lunch and they devoured them and asked me where we got them so we can go back! I'll come here on purpose next time I am in Austin! Drive through was fast and easy. Quirky place. Definitely pleased. I got the egg, nopales, and frijoles as well as egg, potatoes and cheese. Very flavorful food, really great value (meat by the pound ,1lb = at least 8-10 tacos with all the fixings) service can be a little slow during peak hours but the food is always on point and worth the short wait.

Breakfast tacos are great, ordered a horchata with an espresso shot (bc I saw good reviews abt it) and it's AWESOME. They call it 'El Equinox.' Potato egg and cheese taco was delicious, I also ordered a bean and cheese. Only issue was they put egg in my bean and cheese. But it was still a great taco. Nice low prices, definitely is my new go-to taco joint. Have to try the queso and chips next time!!

The equinox is great! Most tacos I've tried have been pretty good and at a great price. The carne guisado is a little different than I'm used to but other tacos were good.

Seemed popular since the drive thru was never empty. Decided to give it a try. Chose to go bean egg and cheese this morning since I’ve had my bacon fill for the weekend. Opted for corn tortillas. The ingredients in the taco looked high quality and well made, but the corn tortilla fell short. It seemed undercooked.

Delicious full of meat fresh avocado good salsas. Really enjoyed the food. My daughter got Torta de pastor She ate it all !!! Guess that tells it all.

Here's my honest review. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with light cheese. And here's why I gave it only 4 stars. And I rarely rate anyting under 5 stars, only because I always give businesses where I spend my money the benefit of the doubt that maybe my situation was a blooper of some sort. But this one truly only deserves this rating simply bc of this: -there was not just one piece of bone in my chicken quesadilla, but two pieces of bone in there. -also I specifically ordered my quesadilla with "easy cheese" or in Spanish "poco queso" ... But when I received it it had what almost felt like a pound of cheese inside. Let me in with some good things: 🙂 The salsas where super delicious 🙂 The seasoning of the chicken was on point and full of flavor. 🙂 The customer service ladies were quick attentive. I would go back again, yes, but would hope for a better experience.

Solid taco spot. We feed out family of three for under $20 including a tip. You can't beat that unless you get fast food which is nasty compared to some fresh homemade tacos. We swing by here about 3-4 times a week. Are they the best tacos in town? Probably not. But they are really good and cheap and they have a drive though. Try the carnitas on corn tortilla with salsa verde. Or for breakfast, try chorizo, bacon and egg taco.

Love the pozole!!! Usually its full of meats and corn, but today there was no corn whatsoever and that made me really sad :( just broth and meat.

Had a chorizo, egg, and cheese and also a bacon, egg, and cheese. Good news first. The chorizo was quite good. Substantial size. Flour tortillas were get ok and needed to be fried up a little bit. Verde salsa was good. Bad news. One slice of meager bacon on that taco. Just kinda weak. Only a drive through place, so be aware of that. For me, three stars is good, solid, average and that’s what these were. Not the best, but not bad and the price was good also. Three tacos for about $8. EDIT: I've now been back a number of times. I do really like the Quesadillas. I've had a few of them and they get the four stars. Don't get the breakfast tacos, at least on flour. The tortillas are very average. I just haven't liked them on multiple visits.

The dude at the window was super nice and friendly. We ordered some breakfast tacos and they were tasty. Make sure you ask for the green AND red salsa! One thing to watch out for - sometimes they get super bust and it can be a little awkward waiting in line right off of Oltorf. The drive through lane is small. GREAT TACOS.

The service was excellent and the ambience is chill. This is not a restaurant where you can sit inside the venue but they do have two benches outside. I will warn you it’s there’s no public restrooms so your best bet is to do drive thru. I ordered a flour potato/egg and bacon/cheese/egg tacos. I wish the bacon was a little more cooked and the eggs were okay. The green and red salsas were good! Overall I’d give the food a 3/5.

I'll be providing an unbias opinion... I'm not from Atx and was lookin for a good place to eat breakfast tacos.. I decided to give this spot look see. I'm all about hole in the walls businesses but man this felt like if I sneezed the building would fall. We ordered 2 barbacoas potatoe and egg bean cheese.. lime was dried out all things considered they placed it in the taco..over all there was more to be desired.

My order was 2 bean and bacon tacos on flour, 1 potato egg cheese taco w/ avocado on flour, 1 barbacoa on corn and 2 al pastor on corn. Verde salsa. Service was excellent. Tacos were excellent. Their verde salsa is the best I’ve ever had (I lived, ate, and ordered tacos in San Antonio for 10 years). Meat tacos (barbacoa, bistec, chicken, al pastor, etc) served street-style on mini corn tortillas are expected. However, breakfast tacos served on mini tortillas are a total rip-off. Tiny breakfast tacos!?!? That’s just wrong, wrong, wrong. Please use normal size flour/corn tortillas for breakfast tacos.

They serve tacos, but no rice or beans. I was surprised to hear they don't have typical sides that would go well with tacos. The food is somewhat tasty. The meats are overcooked. This place seems to be a good spot if you have the munchies or don't have time to go back to ask for better food.

Good but inconsistent quality

There are certainly better tacos in town, but they have this horchata drink with a shot of espresso that is super tasty, and have to love the drive through. Also shout out to the awesome owner with great personality who always cheers me up - I'd come by here every morning if I lived nearby!

I used to really love El Tacorrido, but the last few times I've been it's been really underwhelming. It's still decent, but I think it's lost its place as one of the taco joints I'd recommend to people. I'm sure I'll still go back--let's face it, it's a drive-thru and I get lazy--and hope they return to their former greatness. Also, for anyone that's vegetarian or vegan--ask them to wrap your tacos separately. They put my sister and I's tacos all together and it ended up with egg and bacon in my tacos :(

I usually LOVE el Tacorrido. However, I went there this morning and the tacos were honestly not what I ordered and pretty bad overall (the potatoes weren't even fully cooked) Did they change management recently or what? C'mon guys, you're better than this! 2012-early 2015 you were awesome. Pull it together. :-)

Great food but the employee added a 20% tip for himself when he handed me the payment machine. He also said the correct total out loud but the total on the machine was 20% more. Be alert when paying.

Went through the drive thru for breakfast tacos. Tacos felt pretty low effort. The corn tortilla wasn’t warmed up/felt straight from the bag. The cheese in the eggs cold and added on top last minute. Bacon taco meant one strip of bacon add on top. Beyond all that, going through the Drive Thru they asked for a 20% tip. Through the Drive thru… Wish I could have messaged this direct to the owner. Sure they are nice folks but having a restaurant in Austin is tough so wanted to share the feedback!

First time here. Heard lots of great things but did not live up to the hype. Tacos were smaller than most of the breakfast tacos in Austin at the same price point. The salsas tasted watered down and had little flavor. It could have been a bad batch but for my first time it was a let down. Service was friendly and quick!

Our group did not get what we ordered. ElPastor was used instead of carnitas. The chicken and cheese quesadilla only had cheese. We also had the buche could have used more seasoning or prep. Flavors were good, just need to work on accuracy. Not much for atmosphere since it is a drive through.

Sometimes you just need a delicious yet simple taco. I had the al pastor and a bean and cheese tacos. The flavors are always spot on here and I chased it all down with a hibiscus drink. Don’t forget to check out the stickers on the drive thru window while you’re waiting for your food. This location is drive thru only.

This location does no justice to the brand "El Tacorrido". This location is very small and has 2x drive up windows. However they recently covered up one and don't answer it now unless you order food first, they will simply ignore you at the window till you drive around. The sign posted gives no instrustions on where to order at the first window. They don't say pull around, just labels the windows 1 and 2, however there is a 3rd window for walking up so it's not the most intuitive of places with instructions. The people working there you can tell don't care to be there or deal with helping out customers. I typically go to this location knowing I will get treated like they have other things to do and more money to make elsewhere. If they are going to confuse the customers with their window operations, they should just redesign the location to fit their workers wants rather than the customers needs.

My boyfriend and I liked going here because it is a convenient drive thru and the food is usually really good. But the past few times we’ve gone for a morning taco run, we’ve experienced issues: Egg shells in tacos Hair in tacos (picture attached) Incorrect order was taken and no repeat/confirmation of order (worker at register did refund us and we were appreciative) These are easy fixes and we understand stuff happens, but lately it’s been more bad experiences than good.

Out of my 2 daughters...1 was very pleased w/her taco. The other was real mad that the cook didnt pay attention to what I had ordered. As for my taco I wasn't too thrilled to eat it EITHER! Especially, it being our 1st time and all...I mean seriously, how hard is it to follow a few directions: NO EGG, add cheese, & bean, not hot sauce, add tomato, etc... *****COME ON PEOPLE*** Its real SIMPLE, EASY, YOU DONT NEED 2 BE A CHEF TO DO THIS RIGHT!!! GEEZ

Food is great, employees and service aren't. It takes a long time to get your order. We often go to get the ice cream sandwiches (awesome). Problem is they've been out 3x in a row in the last 3 weeks. I've been told the last couple of times that they just don't have time to make them. Won't be going for a while.

Breakfast tacos were decent but not overwhelming or anything special compares to any other breakfast taco. I liked their salsa. It was good, hot but not too hot. Coffee was fresh but agian nothing special they have me sugar packets and put milk instead of cream in it. I was hoping to was amazing and a must go to place but not exactly. Drive thru was strangely set up as you order at one window drive around the building and pay where you get the food. Hard street corner to get in and out of.

Anytime I get cheese on a taco the cheese is never melted. It makes the entire taco cold. It’s like they’re not even trying to thaw it out. I go in the mornings usually for breakfast time and every single time without fail they serve cold cheese. I always tell myself I won’t come back but it is so convenient and the tacos would be great if they’d only melt the cheese!!

really disappointed by this location. i’ve been coming here since 2016 and love the food. went there this morning and the cashier wasn’t at the window, i sat and waited until he walked up from the parking lot, and when i ordered chips and guac/queso he told me the chips weren’t ready. i offered to wait until they were ready but he said they don’t have chips until 9am. i’ve never had this happen at any location and we have definitely gotten chips before 9am many times, usually even if they aren’t ready we can wait.

Long time customer but I don't think I'll be coming back again. The food is delicious but this place has been consistently going down hill. The people who work there used to be so friendly and welcoming but recently they barely even notice you. It's not that hard to simply acknowledge a "hey, how's it going?" not to mention, as others have mentioned, my girlfriend and I got sick for a week after eating here. Very disappointing, good thing Austin has plenty of other delicious Tacos!

The melon agua fresca definitely tasted old and not really fresh or melon flavor. Horchata was 2.5/5. Tasted different but what may taste meh to me could be good to others. I chase the most delicious horchata anytime i visit someone away from home. Breakfast taco was fresh but not super seasoned. Bistec taco was cold and the meat was dry. Decent flavor. Salsas were good! Had the green and the molcajete. I came From San Antonio and decided to try this place from recommendations but was disappointed. I will Stick to my San Antonio Mexican food. Rated service 3 stars as they automatically added 20% and atmosphere not playing a role in my choice for food for tacos.

The past 3 times I've gotten breakfast tacos from them, their POTATOES ARE RAW. Someone needs to show them how to actually cook breakfast potatoes because they should not be hard and pale.

When someone places a big order, you need to have them pull forward and wait. Everyone with small orders behind them has to sit for 20 minutes. The people behind the big order, have their food sitting and getting greasy because you made it and then let it sit there for 20 minutes. Have the Car move forward And park.

I spent $17 in it was not worth it at all I was hungry in couldn’t even eat because the food wasn’t thoroughly cooked I refuse to get food poisoning call to speak to the manger she was unavailable in the workers there didn’t know to help me.

I LOVE Tacorrido, but this location is always a little behind compared to the others. Tacos were sloppy and cold. Anytime I order an equinox here my drink comes out heavy with horchata. A double shouldn’t be this light for $7 :/ Go order at riverside.

Horrible experience with this place! Ordered 2 guacamole and chips, and 12 tacos. Uber drops off our food, and we were missing all 12 tacos! Called the restaurant, and the lady told me she forgot to give the driver our tacos, and asked me if I had another way to come get them. Seriously??? I wouldn't have had uber deliver my food if I had a way to go there. She was very unapologetic about the situation, and told me to contact Uber for a refund. I would give it zero stars if I could. Not happy with my first experience with this place.

I lived 100ft from here for 2 years and always loved the food. Drove 20 minutes to get a nostalgic meal and ordered my typical barbacoa and was served pulled pork only to find out after I got home. The pescado tacos were awful fish tasting

There’s one good menu item we like but the tacos are bland bland bland & they give you one tiny plastic of salsa. Just one. They charge .50 cents per extra salsa. Are the owners from NYC? This is sacrilege in Texas. You go to a burger joint they don’t charge you per ketchup packet. Same goes for salsa in Texas.

STAY AWAY. Tacos were cold. Guy entered his own tip. Salsa was in a tiny condiment container. Meat was NOT good. Chips were stale. Did NOT finish eating my order. Threw everything away. Never going back.

I had been to Tacorrido once before and really enjoyed it. The two veggie tacos were really good and the prices are fair. However, I went again this past weekend. I got two veggie tacos and one fish. The fish taco tasted a little bit off but I didn't think anything of it. I ate my tacos around 10 pm, and then went to bed a couple hours later. Suddenly at 2 in the morning or so I woke up and felt extremely sick. Soon I was violently vomiting over and over. For the next 24 hours I was extremely sick and could barely even keep down a sip of water. My whole stomach area had a constant pain going through it, I felt extremely weak, and very dizzy. I couldn't think straight, and I could barely get up to walk around. The whole experience was very painful and difficult. I haven't gotten sick like this in years. So yeah, never going here again. Also, I posted about this on my Instagram and from my small amount of followers, TWO other people said they have gotten sick from Tacorrido as well. Obviously something is not right at this restaurant. Honestly I am disappointed because I really enjoyed the tacos before, but I am never getting them again.

I used to always recommend this place, but now I'm wondering if I need to find a new place to get tacos. Literally sat in my car at a closed order window for 15 minutes. I said "Hello" to get someone's attention thinking maybe they didn't notice me just to have their staff tell me "you're not our only customer". How hard is it to say ," we are busy sir, We will be with you as soon as we can". My tacos came out literally 1 minute after that cause all the other customers were already long gone. Teach your staff not to be rude and maybe you can keep some clientele.

I had high hopes but they were instantly dashed. If you can’t make simple eggs you should not be making any sort of tacos. I think these must have been made way ahead of time and left in a warmer. They were awful and bounced more than a trampoline when I tried chewing them. The barbacoa was a flavorless fatty mess. No seasoning at all. Just chuck roast and fat. The pastor was more edible than some places but not many. Where’s the pride and care in your product. This is more like somebody from Iowa or Oregon decided to set up shop in Texas and serve their version of whatever that was. Certainly no abuelita would allow that to come from her kitchen. 60 dollars and time wasted we will never get back.

This place use to be amazing. Good portions, friendly employees and correct orders. For about the last two years I have watched this place slowly get worse and worse. First the portions got smaller, understandably since food prices increased. Then the employees became less and less friendly, sometimes ignoring you at the window for up to five minutes, when you can see them at the register through the cracks in the stickers. Lately, they are been messing up our orders so frequently that neither myself nor my husband will leave the parking lot until we check the order. One time it was forgetting the chips for chips and queso, then it was putting beef in the bean and cheese tacos and tonight it was putting bacon in my bean/cheese tacos. This wouldn’t usually matter but I am a vegetarian following almost dying from poorly cooked meat as a kid. It is with sadness that I give a place I once loved and recommend such a low score. I used them for all business breakfasts and after workout meals. That is no longer the case. Tonight I gave them their last and final try because my son still loves them. With the bacon in my taco, I bid them adieu. Not from a lack of trying on my part, but on their part.

I tried this place a few times because I was told it was really good, but man it really isn't. The meat on my tacos the first time was kind of dry. I came back and tried the breakfast tacos, and the eggs were overcooked and undersalted. The chorizo is bland; how do you even do that? I also asked for salsa and didn't get any last time. They also default their point of sale on giving a 20% tip, which given how little they interact with you and that they're a drive thru is honestly insulting. Don't bother.
