Came here for lunch and got lunch special B with the rainbow roll! I was impressed by the quality and freshness of the fish for such a reasonable price point. I loved the chef special nigiri and loved how the fish melted in my mouth. Rainbow roll itself was also good. I also enjoyed the Ex girlfriend roll and salmon toro nigiri. I would strongly recommend this place as a great lunch or casual date. The food was tasty, fresh, and affordable. the interior was charming and the staff were friendly.

I came across this place by chance. It was Friday and there were no seats so I had to wait, but it was worth the wait because it was so great. The oysters were fresh and the food was friendly. I still think about the freshness even after I got home. This is the best sushi restaurant in Austin.

I’m a returning customer and always find myself craving their new style sashimi—it’s that good. The fish is consistently fresh, beautifully presented, and the flavors are on point. Service is attentive and professional. Yes, it’s on the pricey side, but the quality makes it worth every dollar. You truly get what you pay for. Highly recommend the new style sashimi—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The 5-piece sampler is a must-try for first-timers. Always a satisfying experience

We were able to get an 8:30pm same day reservation for our family of 4. The service and the food definitely did not disappoint us and the boys. We tried pretty much all of the fishes on the specials board that were still available. This was the 2nd time I've ever eaten sashimi without my Wasabi heavy soy sauce concoction I usually make. Each sashimi dish came with its own dressing to complement the fish flavor. It was a nice surprise to have some of the dishes dressed with a dash of truffle oil accompanied by real Wasabi. Don't forget the hot sake in cooler weather!

Love this place. One of the best sushi spots in Austin!! Would highly suggest getting the sushi bomb which is 4 pieces of nigiri with fresh wasabi and chili sauce on top - will clear up your nostrils real quick. The fresh wasabi is offered on many of the rolls too. You can’t go wrong with any of the rolls here are fantastic too - would suggest asking the staff about the off menu / special rolls. Note that there are not many seats inside so I would call ahead for a reservation or be prepared to sit at the bar.

Absolutely love this sushi spot! Hidden away in a little strip mall, this authentic Japanese dining experience is one you can’t miss! The fish is extremely fresh and decently priced! It’s one of my go-to spots! Also, ask the waiter about any off-menu dishes they may have. Our waiter offered us a few spectacular ones!

I rarely like to give out 5s to a food place but golly! This was some of the best food I’ve honestly had in a long time, especially Texas! Everything was absolutely to die for, our server was fantastic but let me tell you… if you have a chance to order that black cod…? Order it. Best sushi in Texas bar none. Fresh fish, great chefs, great portions, wasabi is REAL, fantastic service. I don’t have anything bad to say. Kudos to yall, don’t change.

We discovered this hidden gym about 6 years ago and have not found a sushi place that we like better. The Ex Girlfriend, Miller Roll & Sassy Susan are our go-to rolls. It gets busy but is worth the wait. We love sitting at the bar. Amazing service every time!

Make a reservation!!!! We had a reservation to attend a dinner with coworkers. Talk about phenomenal! We were a part of 7 and had a table at the back of the restaurant. The waitress was fantastic and took care of us. She ensured our choices paired and kept us in the right direction. The sushi and all the other things we ordered were amazing. This is a place you should definitely try if you are in North Austin.

Went back to Tomo to introduce a few friends to some of the best sushi in the Austin area. We split an omakase dinner, and everything was delicious (as always). My best recommendation is to tell the wait staff how much you want to spend and let them take care of the rest.

I've been to Tomodachi a handful of times due to not loving in Austin. However, every time I go in blown away by the sushi. It's so delicious. The nigiri melts in your mouth no matter what you get. It's prepared so well. My favorite is the toasted garlic and wasabi hidden under the slice of fish. The atmosphere is great but it used to be better a few years ago. Idk if they've changed ownership but the staff seemed off compared to what I experienced in the past. I would still go again and again! Love this place. It's honestly the best sushi place I've been to from SA to Austin.

The place is medium sized. Better to have a reservation. Various options of sushi and other sea food options. Service was good and decent waiting time for food to he prepared. Definitely fresh. I find it pricey though as 3 tiny shares of food and couple drinks would cost $125 or up for 2 people. The staff is super friendly and nice. There is ample parking lots. Space is too small for ppl with special needs.

I walked in today, on a Friday, at 9:30pm and was met with aggression and rudeness from the staff. Apparently they decided to close the kitchen that night at 9:40 and that they were closing at 10, even though it says they’re open until 10:30pm. I was told about this place and was excited to try it after a LONG Friday at work, but sadly decided to leave after seeing the rude faces and subtle comments made by the staff. I felt very disrespected and most likely will never be back to actually try it!
