M family felt like Mexican tonight and after looking at Google reviews, we picked this place……and glad we did. We all loved our meal. Just delicious. My wife had the chicken tacos and thought they were some of the best she has ever had. I had a bite and they were so good. My son had the trio of enchiladas. While all three were tasty, the verde one was streaking good. My other son had the steak tacos and loved them. I had the shrimp ajo dish. The garlic and spices were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my choice. Oh, we started with the shrimp ceviche app and we really enjoyed that too. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Wife is mad at me (see photo) but nonetheless I've got to tell you about Nuestro's! It's a small cafe, packed full of love and livelihood in downtown Bakersfield. Nuestro takes reservations so our party got seated quickly with plenty of smiles on a Friday night. We enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, great service and awesome food. My companion had the shrimp enchilada ($22), the dish was full of shrimp and flavorful. I had crispy tacos ($17) and they were hot and delicious. The food is a little pricey but so is everything else these days.

An unplanned stop turned out to be the best decision for lunch. Upon entering the premises, we were greeted with smiles and taken to a table. Chips and salsa verde were immediately delivered with menus. We shared the Suiza — chicken enchiladas and it was delicious. We rarely clean our plates but this time we did. Small distraction was the loud music but we forgive them 🥰

Went there with friends after a convention in Bakersfield. Looked it up online. Had lots of 5 star reviews. Our party of 6 got a table no problem. Service was good. I had flautas, one have nachos, another fish tacos, a quesadilla… everything was about the best I’ve seen. Fresh, colorful. The place is small. Maybe 40 seats. People coming in said it’s their favorite place.

Awesome little.mexican restaurant to go get a good taste of traditional foods! Everything grilled to perfection and tasty. Super friendly staff and very clean restaurant. Salsa and the watermelon margarita was on point! Will definitely come back!!!

This place is so good!! The ambiance is so cute, the service is exceptional, and the food blows all other places around here out of the water. We started with a ceviche tostada. I had recently gone to Puerto Vallarta and loved the ceviche there. This was pretty much a replicate. I don't eat pork for health reasons and I usually skip out on al pastor or pozole because of that. I was over the moon that I could have both here AND it was delicious! Mango margarita was a little too sweet for me (I like my drinks stiff), but it was still good regardless. I love spice and the salsa had a great kick to it as well! My mom had ordered ceviche bowl to go and mentioned that we had a long trip to San Francisco, so she asked if they could just make sure it was extra tightly packed so it wouldn't spill. They went above and beyond and packed it over ice so it would stay cold for the entire ride. I will DEFINITELY be stopping by again. Thank you so much!!

We love this little quaint Mexican restaurant. Yummy food and great drinks! Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The drink menu is BUENO! They even will make custom drinks. The food is Mexican authentic and served nice and hot. Portions are big so come hungry. The music playing reminds me of being back in Mexico way way back in the day. Be sure to check this place out!

DOS: 05/05/2025 Around 5PM Ordered the Chile Verde Enchiladas, Rice and Beans with a side of flour tortillas. The flavor of the Chile Verde was SOOOO yummy. Probably my new favorite in town. I'll have to visit again to make sure. Beans were ok. Rice was delicious also. I also really enjoyed their salsa. Im not a big salsa eater, so was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Service was fast. We were promptly greeted and food was brought out pretty quickly. I only gave 4 stars because I was never offered a refill on my drink. Speaking of drinks, they offer Coke products. Their Coke was actually pretty good too. Definitely worth checking out, I'll definitely be returning soon for that chili verde! It is not spicy, which is perfect for me. If you prefer spicy, this isnt the one for you.

They're good for Mexican food, sometimes can be off not necessarily in flavor but quality like bread could be too hard or not enough filling, but most part good for lunch

Great place! We enjoyed our lunch of Tacos Al pastor, chile encuerado, chile colorado, and bistek encervezado. The cafe de olla was rich and sweet. If we lived here we’d come back!

Found this little gem through the reviews of TripAdvisor. Couldn't be happier with the quality and flavor of our meals. Their enchiladas are terrific! Our server Jose was personable, efficient and friendly. Went there for dinner 3 nights during my stay at Bakersfield. The only down side is that they allow smoking RIGHT OUTSIDE their front door and every time anyone goes in and out, a cloud of cigarette smoke comes in. That happened on one of the nights we visited and we had to ask to have our food boxed to-go since we getting nauseous with the smell. Other 2 couples asked for the same; it's a shame, because it totally killed what would have been a great night out.

The food was nothing short of terrific, and the service was satisfactory as well. Why only 3 stars? It was admittedly hot outside, but it was at least 80 inside. Worse than the heat, though, were the flies. Both I and the table next were commenting about the flies. Again, the food was still exceptional, but the heat and the flies ran me out without being able to enjoy dinner. I'd still give it another shot, though. It was that good.
