A wonderful restaurant in the heart of Ballston Spa. The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere, friendly staff and the impeccable food. The Next Door has a very extensive liquor selection. I will definitely return when in the area.

This was recommended to us by a friend to come to during our visit to the area. We sat at the bar and had drinks while waiting for our table to be ready and the bartender was nice and the drinks were good that we ordered. After being sat we were quickly helped , the tomato and burrata salad was delicious. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and meatballs and they were delicious. I tried the scallops on the dinner specials list and it was very tasty as well. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing for dessert. Overall everything was excellent and we were very happy with this place and recommend it.

Called the place later in the evening on Friday and was able to get a table. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the staff courteous and attentive. I ordered the soup special, curry butternut squash and roasted beet salad with a piece of salmon. The soup was very nice though I did not try to eat the hot red peppers in it- the salad was very nice as well and the salmon was fully cooked as I had asked and was not dry which was a nice surprise. All and all a great experience- highly recommend

Excellent dinner in a cool little town. Our first time in Balston Spa and Next Door Kitchen should be a go to. Reservations are not easy to get, so we gambled on sitting at the bar and it was a home run. Service was perfect and the barkeep was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. We enjoyed a couple of their specials and all were fantastic. Nice place and highly recommended!

Absolutely lovely. My sister took me for dinner here Thursday night. She spoke highly of one of the servers Booey she had in the past and we luckily got him again! His service elevated our already phenomenal meal. We enjoyed cocktails and mocktails, well thought out and seasoned entrees using seasonal produce and divine desserts. I recommend the cider donut bread pudding in particular. It was a seasonal dessert that was so good they added it permanently to the menu and with good reason! It feels like a northeastern hug. Exactly the kind of dessert you want on a crisp evening in autumn. The atmosphere is also quite lovely and we felt our meal was paced well start to finish. Would absolutely recommend.

One of my favorite local restaurants! The chefs creations are always so innovative and flavorful! The pineapple margarita, crab and ricotta fritters, shrimp and corn bisque, watermelon feta salad, and of course the best fried chicken all pictured below were amazing! We've never had a bad meal here. Thank you NDK!

This was our third time here and we were once again thrilled with the delicious food, selection of drinks, and amazing service. We have been lucky enough to get Derek both times that we sat at the bar and both times were so impressed with his attention to detail, promptness, and ability to connect with his customers. Next Door Kitchen has officially become a favorite of ours and we cannot recommend it enough.

Pleasant experience. Bartender was knowledgeable. House starter/ rosemary focaccia. White bean dip. Spin basil puree. Ricotta. Refreshing. Biscuit with Apple butter that was too sweet, could’ve been great if blended with a whipped brown butter. Biscuit lacked flavor and could’ve used butter & flaky salt on top. Unremarkable. Grits- seasoned very well. Great texture. Pimento Mac Cheese. Great texture on pasta. Zero remnants of pimento peppers. Lack luster seasoning. Pan seared red snapper. Carrot yuzu puree. Mustard greens. Crispy sprouts. Fished cooked perfectly. Bitter greens pair well with sweet carrot puree. Sprouts have a nice char and not over cooked. Balanced entree.

After HS Graduation dinner. Reservations. The overall grade was due too the Value factor. A little pricey. $16 for egg roll appetizer. Salmon was very good. No true Stout or Porter on Tap. Brussels Sprout appetizer could have had a crisp too it.

We had dinner on Saturday and it was so packed at 5 pm already. Inside the restaurant was not so spacious but still cozy and not so noisy. My husband and I had Fried chicken and Shrimp and grits, our friends Salmon and Fillet mignon from the specials. The food was all excellent! I would say my fried chicken could be the best of best in the area. The service was good too. The only reason I took one star out is the prices....l know it's worth paying for but some seemed overpriced and this is the restaurant for just special occasions.

I went there to have dinner with my friends. Cozy ambiance, variety of drinks, welcome staffs. I ordered the salmon which is for me a little overcooked. I will return to try their fried chicken and dessert.

Went to this location this past Sunday the 13th of September. Our waitress Tara was knowledgeable of the items on the menu and made some pairings with the wine selection. We were never rushed with our meal and we sat inside instead of outside. We had the Smoked Tomato Braised Meatballs and Tomato soup with ricotta fritter for the app. For dinner, the Wild Salmon and Grilled Pork Chop.
